Law Reigns at Kamp Motor Speedway
Jeffrey A. Bayless

(Aug 9 Boswell, IN) The night air was cooler than normal in Boswell for an early August night but that did not keep the fans from filling the stands to witness some fine dirt track racing at Kamp Motor Speedway.
The 25-lap UMP Late Model feature began with outside pole sitter Jim Laws edging ahead down the backstretch ahead of Bob Pohlman, Michael Bradley, Mark Stetler and Ted Loomis.    Laws was separating from the field when a caution came out to allow the disabled machine of Eddie Leviner to make his way from the top groove of the track off of the racing surface without creating a hazard.   When the action resumed, Laws once again began separating from the field as Bradley and Pohlman battled for second as Loomis bypassed Stetler for 4th.  The machine on the move at this point however was the 55 of Shawn Toczek as he was quickly making his way through the field from his 14th starting position.  On the restart he joined the battle for 6th between Jamie Zidar and Wes Steidinger going through 3 and 4 on the 6th circuit 3 wide.  Toczek won this battle and quickly reeled in the 5ht place machine of Stetler, but as he was making his way underneath Stetler the two made contact on the front stretch sending Toczek spinning hard into the wall and Stetler spinning into the infield.  To make matters worse another hard charger, Steidinger, was left with no place to go and slid hard into Toczek’s machine.  The accident ended the night of all three drivers.  When the action resumed Laws was able to hold off a quick challenge by Pohlman and once again marched away to a solid lead.  Pohlman, on the other hand, had his hands full with Bradley as the two raced much of the remaining laps side by side.  Bradley was able to get the best of Pohlman with a few laps remaining but had no chance to reel in Laws, as he was virtually untouchable on this night.  At the finish it was Laws, Bradley, Pohlman, Loomis, Zidar, Potts, Walden, Luse, Roundtree, and Woodard.

The UMP Modifieds were racing for the big money of the Wolfpack Challenge event that was rained out the week before even though the race was no longer rewarding Wolfpack points.  Jesse Cramer made a good jump from his 2nd row start to make it a three wide race for first through the first set of turns with Chuck Haga and Richie Hedrick.  As they crossed the stripe Hedrick led Haga, Cramer, Kevin Davis, and Brian McDanial but as Hedrick began pulling away Ryan Bowman quickly joined the fray up front as he began battling Davis and McDanial for 4th.   This battle ended on the 5th lap however with Davis spinning in turn 4 bringing out the races only caution.  On the restart Cramer challenged Haga for 2nd as Hedrick began separating from the field.  Once Cramer cleared Haga however he began reeling in Hedrick and by the 13th lap he had reeled him in.  Several times through the last few laps Cramer pulled along side Hedrick but he was never able to get by as Hedrick hang on to win by 3/4th of a car length.  The battle for third was even closer as McDanial and Haga came by neck and neck with McDanial taking the spot by a hair’s width.  Dale Hayes picked up the 5th spot.

Bradley, Kroll Victorious at Kamp Motor Speedway

by....Jeffrey A. Bayless

(June 21 Boswell, IN) Summer has officially arrived and to welcome the Days of Summer Kamp Motor Speedway put on yet another blazing hot racing program.  Once again the program was wrapped up and complete by 11:30 with the fans on their way home after witnessing some of the best drivers in the area put on a spectacular show.
In UMP Late Model action the car count was down due to a special program at near by Fairbury Illinois but the show was grand never the less.  The front row of Bob Pohlman and Michael Bradley completed the first circuit side by side as did row 2 starters RJ Gall and Marvin Burton.   However as they completed the second circuit they had sorted themselves out with Bradley leading Pohlman, Burton, Gall, and Dick Potts.  The top two of Bradley and Pohlman quickly separated from the pack as Potts raced Gall and Burton for position.  As the race neared the 10-lap mark the leaders began picking up the back markers.  It was at this point that Bradley showed his upper hand making mincemeat of the competition gliding through traffic as if he were set upon rails.  No one came close to challenging Bradley the last 15 laps of the race as he came home a straight away ahead of his nearest competitor Bob Pohlman.  As the rest of the top runners negotiated the traffic however, Jim Laws made a run from his 12th starting position to come home third, Dick Potts grabbed fourth and Eddie Leviner was able to come home fifth.  Marvin Burton, RJ Gall, Chuck Haga, Richie Hedrick, and Dan Walden rounded out the top ten.

The UMP Modifieds may rank below the Late Models in drawing power, but on this night they took a back seat to no one as their feature was by far the most action packed of the evening.  Tommy Kroll got a good jump from his outside pole spot and jumped to a good lead ahead of Chuck Haga, Don Kiger, Richie Hedrick, JR Coyner, Tim Reynolds and RJ Gall who were in a big pack racing 2 and three wide.  Kiger went spinning out of two on the second lap bringing out the caution, but it was determined the accident was the fault of Gall and Kiger was awarded his spot back for the restart.  As they came back to the green it was Kroll ahead of Haga, Kiger, Coyner, and Hedrick.  Kroll and Haga pulled away on the restart with Coyner quickly fading as Kiger, Tim Reynolds, Dan Hamstra, and Hedrick battled for position.  Reynolds found a groove on the rim of the circuit and quickly reeled in the top two and was engaging Haga for second when Kevin Davis spun in turn three on the sixth lap bringing out the races second caution.  On the restart Hamstra shot by Hedrick and began challenging Kiger for the fourth spot as Reynolds cruised into second spot as he coasted by Haga on the high side.  At the half way mark it was Kroll closely followed by Reynolds and Haga ahead of a three-way battle between Hedrick, Kiger, and Hamstra.  During the 12th circuit, the third caution flew as Dale Hayes who had been black flagged several laps earlier for a broken left front tie rod had bigger problems develop right in front of the flag stand.  It appeared as if something else went amiss on the front suspension of his machine as he ground to a halt on the front stretch, but Chip Risner was not able to avoid his disabled machine and slammed hard into the back of it popping Hayes’ mount up in the air and coming to rest facing the wrong way with the o2 of Hayes sitting atop the front end of Risner’s crumpled machine.  During this caution Tim Reynolds who was looking very strong pulled off of the racetrack and into the pits with mechanical difficulties ending his run as well.  As they came back to the green it was Kroll ahead of Haga, Hedrick, Kiger, and Hamstra.   Hedrick made a challenge on Haga for second as Hamstra shot by Kiger before a couple of quick cautions on the 14th circuit slowed the action again.  When the green was once again unfurled, Hamstra, who had started in the sixth row, shot to the high side and drove past Hedrick and Haga and set his sights on the leader before RJ Gall spun on the 16th circuit slowing the action once again.  When the action resumed Hamstra shot to the hub as Kroll hooked the rim and it was clear there would be a battle to the finish.  As these two combatants worked to overcome the other Richie Hedrick spun with two laps remaining to bring out yet another caution.  This is a time when you would hate to be a scorer as Kroll and Hamstra had crossed the previous lap virtually neck and neck.  The official decision was Kroll was the leader so as they lined back up for the restart with Kroll in front of Hamstra, but that made no difference because as the green flew they resumed their previous grooves and commenced to battling again.  At the checkers it was Kroll by less than a fender’s length over Hamstra.  Kiger, Jason Lakey, Haga, Larry Matillo, Bob Pohlman, Bruce Hartlep, Bub Patrick, and Terry Duncan rounded out the top ten.

The Super Streets had a special 40 lapper scheduled for the evening.  Rick Hufford set sail at the start but by the half way mark, Chuck Haga (who had performed triple duty on the night running in the Late Model, Modified and Super Street Division’s) was quickly reeling him in.  Just as the action was beginning to heat up the caution flew clearing the traffic.  Once the green flew again Hufford used the clear track in front of him to his advantage and Haga was never able to mount a serious challenge after the restart.  In Bomber action it was Matt Orns holding off Lee J Hall as they raced hard through lapped traffic to decide the race.

Long stings 'em for the third time at Kamp Motor Speedway

Boswell, IN (June 13th) - Roger Long of Fithian, IL used his patented high groove around the racing surface to earn his third feature win of the season in front of a near packed house at Kamp Motor Speedway, Saturday night.  The win earned Long a $1,500 payday for the second straight week at Kamp.  The forty-nine year old Long drove his Roger Long Racing Rayburn / ARC Monte Carlo to a slim victory over Michael Bradley of Paris, IL.

Kevin Weaver assumed the early lead from his pole position and seemed to have things well in hand until Shawn Negangard spun in turn two on the third circuit.  That negated the sizeable lead Weaver held, but he was not to be denied on the ensuing restart.  While Weaver again jumped out front, Long was looking for grip on the high side.  The smooth and tacky track featured multiple groove racing all night long.

The action was slowed again as the field worked lap eleven, when Bob Pohlman Jr. uncharacteristically spun in turn two while running third.  Oddly enough, it was much the fashion and place that Negangard had spun earlier.  Perhaps some fluids had been left behind earlier in the evening from other cars in other divisions that had to be towed from the track.  As the field slowed under yellow, Long got into the rear of Weaver causing slight damage to both cars.  Neither car left the race, but after green flag racing resumed, it was obvious something was amiss on the Nu-Way Rayburn of Weaver, as he struggled to turn the car in the corners.  He was easy prey for the hungry pack behind him, and Long took over the top spot on lap 13.   Bradley was next in line to ease past Weaver's ailing car, as one by one, the leaders breezed past Weaver until mercifully, the race came to an end.  It was later learned that Weaver's problem was not due to the Long incident under caution, but rather that Weaver had hooked an infield tire early in the race and bent some front suspension parts.

Points leader Bradley was able to chase down Long on several occasions, showing "The Racing Farmer" a nose a time or two, but to no avail.  Long's momentum on the high side would keep Bradley at bay.  As the field crossed the stripe, it was Long edging Bradley for the win, followed by the local trio of Jim Laws, Mark Stetler, and Dick Potts.  Newcomer Jayme Zidar of Wisconsin would come home sixth, while Eddie Leviner, Weaver, Negangard, and Corey Rolfe rounded out the top ten.

Preliminary heat race action saw Weaver beat out Pohlman, Leviner, Laws, and Chris Dick in heat one.

Heat two belonged to Long over Bradley, Rolfe, Juan Grino, and Larry Raines.

Heat three was claimed by Zidar over Negangard, Potts, Stetler, and Chuck Haga.

23 late models rolled into Kamp Motor Speedway tonight along with 30 modifieds, 29 MSCS sprints, and a host of bombers. Track was smooth and very fast throughout the night and featured multi-groove racing all night long in every division. A very large crowd was on hand to take in the Father's Day special. A great night of racing at Kamp tonight. Racing ended at 12:20am, but extra time is needed when sprints have to be bump started each race.

Bradley, Hamstra romp to easy wins at Kamp Motor Speedway

BOSWELL, Ind. (May 24) - For 30-year-old Michael Bradley of Paris, IL, Memorial Day weekend at Kamp Motor Speedway will be a weekend he will never forget.  Bradley, driving the Budda Enterprises Mastersbilt/Gaerte Monte Carlo, led all twenty-five laps from his pole starting position to record his first career late model victory in only his ninth start.  The first year late model driver, who in five outings at Kamp, has been a model of consistency thus far this season at the revamped oval formerly known as Benton County Speedway, having registered five top five finishes.

Not only did Bradley lead all twenty-five laps in the late model headline event, but he also set fast time and won his heat race, giving him a clean sweep for the night.  Bradley showed tremendous patience for such a young driver, as he meticulously carved his way through heavy lap traffic.  "It was horrible out there," said Bradley, who knew he had the car to beat, but wasn't sure some of his competitors felt the same way.  "Some guys would give me room and others would not.  I just don't think they knew I was there," he added.  Nonetheless, Bradley took his time and made his moves when afforded the opportunity, showing the maturity of a seasoned veteran.

Bradley won the race over a distant Bob Pohlman Jr, who was having his hands full all race long with Shawn Negangard and Ted Loomis.  Bret Sievert of New Berlin, WI, rallied on the highside from his 11th starting spot on the grid to finish a close fifth.  A few more laps and Sievert would have been saying "bye-bye" to all but Bradley.
Others rounding out the top ten included Jim Laws, Dan Walden, Wes Steidinger, Roger Long, and Eddie Leviner.

The initial start of the race was restarted when Mike Metz and Kerry Mathew spun coming off of turn two.  All twenty cars finished the race, with eleven of those on the lead lap.  R.J. Gall was added to the field through the consi, when a spot became available due to Juan Grino's mechanical problems in his heat race.

Bradley set fast time among the 25 entrants, with a lap of 14.030.  Heat race winners included Bradley, Pohlman Jr., and Walden, while Al Atkinson of Kenosha, WI took the consolation race.

In the 40-lap Memorial Day modified special, it was Dan Hamstra of Fair Oaks, IN taking over the lead from early front-runner Scott Weber of Missouri on lap 13, and never looking back as he romped to an easy win over Bob Pohlman Jr. by better than a half a lap.  The win marked the fourth straight for Hamstra.  Tim Reynolds, Dale Hayes, and Weber completed the top five.  Rounding out the top ten were Steven Ott, Phil Line, Matt Bex, Shelby Miles, and Tommy Kroll.

Heat races were won by Weber, Reynolds, Ott, and Hamstra.  Dale Hayes set fast time.

Bradley, Hamstra Cruise to Victory at Kamp Motor Speedway
by Jeffrey A. Bayless

(May 24, Boswell, IN)  The evening air was cool but the action at Kamp Motor Speedway was hotter than ever as 25 UMP Late Models and 41 UMP Modifieds gathered at the track to compete.  As per the norm for Kamp the evening’s festivities were in the books and the crowds on their way home before 11 PM.

In Late Model action fast qualifier and pole sitter, Michael Bradley jumped to the point but the start was averted when Kerry Mathew and Mike Metz got tangled together in turn 2.  The second time went off much smoother with Bradley once again jumping out front ahead of Bob Pohlman and a three-way battle for third between Dan Walden, Shawn Negengard, and charging hard from his 6th starting spot Ted Loomis.   Bradley and Pohlman separated from the field as Loomis settled into third as Negengard and Walden continued to battle.   Bradley quickly built a commanding lead and by the fifth lap was well in command as Pohlman had slipped back into the clutches of Loomis and Negengard who had bypassed Walden a lap earlier.  As Bradley sped away the best battle on the track was mid pack early on as Mark Stetler, Eddie Leviner, Wes Steidinger, Roger Long, Jim Laws, and Brett Seivert all battled for the seventh position.  These 6 pilots circled the track swapping positions for several laps before Seivert found a home in the high groove and shot past the whole crew and set sail towards the front.   As Bradley raced through slower traffic with the ease the second place battle did not fair as well as they began to battle amongst themselves in the midst of lapped cars.  In the end Bradley raced home to his first win and $1500 paycheck of the season with a commanding lead ahead of Pohlman, Negengard, Loomis, and a hard charging Seivert who simply ran out of laps as he was coming hard in the closing laps of the race.  Jim Laws, Walden, Steidinger, Long, and Leviner rounded out the top ten.

In Modified action the stakes were higher than usual as $1200 was on the line for this special 40 lap main event.  Missouri native Scott Weber converted the pole position into the early lead ahead of Tim Reynolds, Dan Hamstra, fast qualifier Dale Hayes, and a side-by-side battle between Bob Pohlman and Steve Ott.  Weber settled into the lead as Hamstra went to work on Reynolds.  Hamstra shot by Reynolds on the third lap only to have it negated when Arby Burton and Dan McCullough got together in turn three sending McCullough spinning.  But once the action resumed Hamstra once again instigated the battle to claim the second spot.  This time the going was not quite as easy as Reynolds was not going to be easy prey as he held Hamstra at bay for 3 circuits before he was able to edge ahead.   But once Hamstra sniffed the lead he was a man on a mission as he quickly reeled in the leader and a battle for the lead commenced on the 8th circuit.  As Hamstra and Weber battled door-to-door Chuck Haga engaged Pohlman for the fifth spot and these two began to exchange positions back and forth.  Meanwhile back up front, Hamstra firmly established the lead on the 15th lap and quickly separated from the field in much the same fashion Michael Bradley had done one race earlier.  Pohlman found the line that was working Seivert late in the Late Model race and quickly reestablished the 5th spot and was in contact with Hayes in Reynolds in short order.  As the leaders began to encounter traffic the battle for second became very entertaining as Pohlman riding the extreme high side shot past Hayes and set his sights on Reynolds and Weber directly in front of him.  With six laps to go and Hamstra a half a track ahead Pohlman, Reynolds, and Weber drove down the back stretch and into the third turn three abreast.  As Hamstra rode to victory circle with his $1200 win, Pohlman racked up his second runner up spot of the night coming home second again. Behind him it was Reynolds, Hayes, Weber, Ott, Phil Line, Matt Bex, Shelby Miles, and Tommy Kroll.

In other racing action Tony Leuck won the Super Street show and Matt Orns picked up his second win of this fresh season in the Bomber ranks.

Dennis Erb Jr. rolls to impressive win at Kamp Motor Speedway

By: Paul D. Bayne

Boswell, IN (May 17, 2003) - To say Dennis Erb Jr. is on a bit of a hot streak is surely an understatement. The 30-year-old native of Carpentersville, IL, picked up right where he left off during his last visit to the 3/8-mile red clay oval Saturday night, earning his fifth feature win of the season at the track now known as Kamp Motor Speedway. For his efforts, Erb collected the $3,000 at stake for the rained out Mother's Day special of a week ago.

With a track surface groomed to near perfection, a hungry field of stout dirt late models came to life at the drop of starter Rick Isaacson's green flag. Polesitter and current points leader Michael Bradley of Paris, IL, was quick on the throttle as he paced the first circuit, while Gibson City's (IL) Kevin Weaver wasted no time moving past Shawn Toczek to take over the second spot, as Erb did the same for third.

At the completion of lap two, Weaver powered past Bradley for the lead off of turn four, with Erb a distant third. With Toczek beginning to fade, Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN moved his way into the fourth spot, sending Toczek to fifth. Ten laps into the 50-lap affair the running order was Weaver, Bradley, Erb Jr., O'Neal, Toczek, Jim Laws, Bob Pohlman Jr., Steve Casebolt, Richie Hedrick, and Jason Beier.

Erb moved past Bradley for the runner-up spot on lap 16, and began his assault on Weaver, as the front-runners were now fully engulfed in lapped traffic. O'Neal worked his way by Bradley for the third spot on lap 24, as Bob Pohlman Jr. and Shannon Babb ran fifth and sixth, respectively. On lap 26, Erb capitalized on a bobble by Weaver to pull alongside in turn three and power his way past to the point. With the backmarkers now thick and heavy Weaver was forced to get off the throttle momentarily, as Casebolt slowed in turn four and pulled his car to the infield. This allowed Erb and O'Neal just enough room to muscle by on the inside after some slight contact. A move which brought the fans to their feet as a new chase was on.

Weaver fought back hard to reclaim second from O'Neal, but their duel was yet to be settled. Asked about the pass for the lead in post-race interviews, Weaver said "we were just in some pretty heavy lap traffic there, and I think it was Casebolt and I believe Negangard I was trying to get around, and for some reason I felt like Casebolt got a little loose and I thought he was going to shoot down in front of me. I checked up a little bit and got the car just a little bit loose and I left about a car width there... just momentarily, but he (Erb) kind of powered his way through there. I mean I not ticked or anything, it's pretty much a mistake that probably shouldn't happen on my part because I didn't have that opportunity to get in there."

On lap 34, the yellow flag was unfurled for Toczek, whose car had come to a halt in turn two after having a tire go down. With a quick change for fresh rubber, Toczek was back on his way. As green flag racing resumed Erb, now with a clear track ahead, set sail for the checkers virtually uncontested, but a battle waged on between Weaver and O'Neal.

As the field took the white flag, Erb rode comfortably out front with Weaver and O'Neal a half-straightaway behind in pursuit. Bradley and Pohlman finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Babb, the young superstar from Moweaqua, IL, made his first appearance to the Kamp oval, but was clearly unhappy with the end result coming home a disappointing sixth. Rounding out the top ten were Rohn Moon, Kevin Claycomb, and Shawn Negangard, who all transferred in out of the semi-feature. Jim Laws, winner here two weeks prior, came home tenth to move up to second in points behind Bradley.

When asked of his race winning move on Weaver, Erb answered with "I seen him get a little loose there and push up the track, so I kind of just drove in there because I knew with the track rubbering up that there probably wouldn't be many more mistakes. Lap traffic definitely played a role here tonight.

Erb's winning ride is sponsored by First City Mortgage of Bettendorf,IA and B&K Sportswear of Milan, IL. The Rayburn Monte Carlo is powered by Hedrick Race Engines of Urbana, IL.

In all, 14 cars were able to finish the race, that was slowed by just two cautions.

Driving failing to make the race included Eddie Leviner, Jason Setser, Tim Prince, Chris Dick, Dan Walden, Barry Carlson, Dick Potts, Marvin Burton, Keith Williams, Bill Luse, Tom Treadway, Kerry Mathew, Gary Hardin, Steve Smith, Rusty Coffman, and Doug Wolf.

News & Notes:

Dennis Erb Jr.
- Erb picked up his fifth win of the season and second of the weekend after having won both the 12-lap Bud Late Model Shootout and 30-lap feature at Kankakee Motor Speedway on Friday night. All totaled, Erb has thus far earned $4,700 this weekend, and has plans on racing at Danville's (IL) Vermilion County Speedway on Sunday. For those looking for racing T-shirts, Erb will be getting his new 2003 shirts in about two weeks, and should have plenty of shirts available in most sizes at the Dream IX at Eldora Speedway June 6 - 7.

Kevin Weaver - With only two nights on a new Rayburn chassis, Weaver seemed "tickled to death" with his second place run, but disturbed by the fact he is stuck on "twos". In some nine events this year, Weaver has recorded five bridesmaid finishes. "Sooner or later we're going to get over that hump," said Weaver. "He's definitely having a very good early season as far as consistency and top five finishes..... but would still like to get that first victory of the year," added team spokesman Don Craig. Weaver led 25 of the 50 laps before turning over the top spot to Erb.

Don O'Neal - The Martinsville, IN veteran made his way to Kamp after learning of the rained out NALMS race at Bardstown, KY. With a qualifying effort of 14.033, good enough for fourth quick time, O'Neal hounded the front runners nearly all race along, moving into the second position for a lap before relinquishing the spot back to Kevin Weaver. Race fans looking for T-shirts, O'Neal's new 2003 apparel is in, and 2002 apparel is being closed out. Stop by the Don O'Neal souvenir trailer for prices and sizes available.

Michael Bradley - The rookie driver of Paris, IL strengthened his grasp of the top spot in points with his fourth straight top five finish at Kamp Motor Speedway. Bradley's lead increased from 12 to 20 points with both Leviner and Long encountering problems on the night. Jim Laws currently sits second in track points with 110 to Bradley's 130.

Bob Pohlman Jr. - The Oak Lawn, IL driver served double duty for the first time this season at Kamp, driving both in the late models and open-wheeled modified class. Pohlman captured the 20-lap modified event while coming home fifth in the late model contest. Pohlman, along with fellow competitors Chuck Haga, and Richie Hedrick all drove in both events.

Kevin Claycomb - The Vincennes, IN native made the maiden voyage to Kamp after having won the final leg of the rain soaked Indiana Speedweeks at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN. Claycomb, would pull off under caution while leading his heat race, thus forcing the veteran driver to transfer out of the semi-feature, which he won. From the 18th starting position, Claycomb was able to advance ten spots to earn eighth.

Shawn Negangard - The Osgood, IN driver was one of a handful of unexpected guests to arrive at the speedway with rain canceling racing events throughout to Midwest. Negangard, the 2001 Northern All Stars Rookie of the Year, was also forced to run the semi feature. From there Negangard started 20th on the grid and climbed 11 spots to finish ninth, thus earning the hard charger award for the race.

Roger Long - Winner of the grand-opening event at Kamp Motor Speedway, Long was plagued with bad luck nearly all night long. Trying to make a pass for the lead on the inside of Shawn Toczek in heat race action, Long clipped the left rear of Toczek sending both cars spinning. Long was forced pitside for repairs while Toczek was given his position back. Starting ninth in the first of two 12-lap semi-features, Long was on the move, but it wasn't until Chris Dick bobbled with one to go that Long was able to slip into a transfer spot and make the show. Long came into tonight having won a pair of races this past week at Farmer City Raceway.

Steve Casebolt - Fresh off a victory Friday night in Sunoco ALMS action at Gas City's I-69 Speedway, Casebolt, the recent Ball State University graduate, looked to repeat the feat in his first appearance at Kamp Motor Speedway. Casebolt qualified second quick with a lap of 13.979 behind only Juan Grino's effort of 13.964. Casebolt's night was cut short however with mechanical problems on lap 26. Another one of the many first timers to Kamp, Casebolt made his way north after the NALMS race at Bardstown, KY was forced to postpone until Sunday.

Jason Setser - The young gun of Columbus, IN made his initial visit to Kamp Motor Speedway a short one, as he broke in hotlaps and never took time in qualifying. Before the night's events got underway, Setser and crew were headed out the gate.

Eddie Leviner - The two-time Indiana UMP state champion, wrestled a difficult car most of the night. Coming into the night, Leviner sat second in points, trailing only Michael Bradley by 12 points. However, the Merrillville, IN native failed to move his Southlake Auto Mall Boss chassis into the feature either in the heat or semi-feature.
