AMP Series, Local Talent, along with SUPR Series, lay it on the line at Greenville Speedway
AMP Series Release
July 16, 2008
Alexander, Ark--The Stars of the AMP Series along with local racers will give their total effort from 'arrival' to 'departure' this weekend as the teams head to Greenville Mississippi where they will compete with the SUPR Series.
The friendship of many and good competition by all, will surround one of the best facilities located in the delta of the Magnolia State. You will see each teams commitment regardless of size, as each racer will give their total effort while competing in this special event. Race fans can expect to witness teams from as far away as four states this Saturday night, July 19th
There is no better place to be than at a race track where you can relax and witness the excitement of dirt late model racing. Your heart will start pounding as you hear the sound of thunder and feel the earth shake from the roar of an 800 hp engine. What is amazing, this is just the beginning of what you can experience as AMP and SUPR come together for a night of racing action.
All drivers in attendance appreciate the fans and staff of Greenville Speedway and will show their gratitude for their support to dirt late model racing by respectfully giving them a four wide salute as a means of saying thank-you. Then the light will go out and the drivers will pull up on their wheel as the next lap will bring out the green flag, a visual sign to break out the $2500.00 headhunter chase to the finish line.
The commitment of each racer to do their best will be obvious to the spectator as the race will unfold. Drivers play an inspiring roll to the audience which will entice you to want to join the racing scene either by trying driving yourself or as an addicted fan.
If you have never witnessed the enthusiasm of a late model race, then I challenge you to come out and see why the teams competing will grab your attention through their remarkable abilities to move a 2000 lb machine not only around an oval track, but around 20 plus of their fellow competitors on any given race night. Racing action heats up this Saturday night as two of the South’s Late Model Touring Series invade Greenville Speedway
Alexander, ARK- (July 13, 2008) Racing action heats up this Saturday night as two of the south’s touring series invade the Greenville Speedway
Racing will get kicked off this Saturday night, July 19th as drivers make their way to a $2,500 to win 50-lap feature event as the Arkansas Motorsport Professional Series (AMP Series) Challenge the talents of drivers from the Southern United Professional Racing Series (SUPR Series) on the Gumbo banks in the heard of the Delta.
Nearly a year has past since the AMP Late Model Series last visited the beautiful 3/8ths mile gumbo oval at Greenville Speedway in Greenville Mississippi. MITCHELL SWEEPS AMP DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND

AMP Series Press Release
www.ampseries.com
June 08
Anticipation was in the air as haulers began arriving at Central Arkansas Speedway, Plummerville AR. If Saturday's show was going to be anything like the night before at Beebe Speedway, the fans were in for a real treat. Joining the field for the AMP event was Kevin Fike, Collierville TN and Stormy Deeryberry, Monticello AR. Regular AMP drivers, Andy Hockenhull and Rachel York were on hand to help support their fellow comrades even though they were unable to compete themselves due to mechanical issues from Friday's event. After the previous night of excitement the drivers and fans were pumped and ready to make some noise.
Once the dust settled from nineteen late super late models taking a few hotlaps, drivers made their final adjustments to the car, and the heat racing action got underway. Each of the three heat races brought with them a good mixture of new and experienced talent. Jeff Wells Jr, Trumann AR, Ian Samuel, Trumann AR and Billy Moyer Jr, Batesville AR, were the young guns who finished one, two, and three in the first heat.
Jon Mitchell, Texarkana TX and Kyle Beard, Trumann AR started the evening out where they left off the night before, racing for the first and second positions, while Charlie Cole, Marianna AR who has demonstrated some strong runs as of late, was right there with the leaders for a third place finish to put in the books.
Jon Kirby, Russellville AR, teammate Dwaine Hottinger also from Russellville, with Shane Diamant, Maumelle AR tore it up with the hammer down to end the heat races for the evening.
With the feature race just getting started, the cars entered turn one after the initial drop of the green flag and they were already three wide. Yep! I smacked my lips, Beebe brought the appetizer and main course, and Central was serving up the desert, we were going racin! Wells Jr, Kirby, and Beard were still three wide as they came out of turn three. Once they settled down to a perfect rhythm it was Mitchell out front with Kirby, Wells Jr, Beard, Hottinger, Moyer Jr and Gary Scott Christian making up the top six positions. Mitchell began to pull away from the group when the first caution came. Charlie Cole pulled into the infield, removed the hood of his #2 machine and was forced to call it a night. On the restart Samuel, Tippen, Diamant, Henson, Fisher, Murry, Deeryberry, Leal and Skinner who made up the rest of the field, were ready to contend with the top six leaders. After a few laps Mitchell again starts to pull away from the group, while Kirby, Beard, Wells Jr, Moyer Jr, Hottinger, and Christian fall behind in single file. This drew our attention to the racing battle going on in the middle of the pack as Tippen, Diamant, and Samuel exchange the lead and a little paint as they work for the eighth through tenth spots. The next group of hard chargers were Henson, Fisher, and Murry who were putting on a good show as they attempted to move forward. Once the leaders hit lap traffic, Beard was able to get around Kirby, but Mitchell had command and had gained a comfortable lead. The second caution of the evening came with mechanical woes for Terry Henson, but he wasn't alone, Tippen and Hottinger left the field with their own mechanical issues. On the restart Mitchell with his foot on the gas puts some distance between himself and Beard. Kirby, Wells Jr, Moyer Jr, and Christian again fell in behind in a single file fashion as Diamant was able to get around the 86B of Ian Samuel after a little back-n-forth racing between themselves and Clay Fisher adding to the mix. With the exception of Wells Jr getting alittle loose and sideways between turns three and four, but regaining control and holding on to his fourth place, the last few laps were uneventful. As the dust swarmed it was Jon Mitchell in his #5 GRT by Catman who able to have his cake and ice cream too, as he sweeps the weekend by winning both AMP events. Mitchell, who has won the last three AMP events, under went a post race inspection was found to be legal. Not only was it nice payday weekend for Jon, he is now leading the AMP point standings. You may want to keep a close eye on the AMP point standings by visiting the AMP website, because the drivers will be in action again next weekend with a double header and who knows how the points will shake down. If you are hungry for some great racing, come out and see the AMP drivers, you will leave satisfied and full!

AMP Series Press Release
June-08
The AMP race held at Beebe Speedway, Beebe AR lived up to its advertised title and more. With temperatures reaching the mid 90's in the area, twenty-one super late model drivers pulled the belts a little tighter as they geared up for thier heat race action. With two and three wide, down to the wire racing, we were served with an appetizer that was sure to lead to an exquisite main dish.
Heat one action saw AMP points leader Allen Tippen, Minden LA and Rookie of the Year contender Jeff Wells Jr, Trumman AR battle for the top finishing spot with two laps to go, while close behind “Charging Charlie” Cole, Marianna AR and Clay Fisher, DeWitt AR were taking care of business and moving forward. Veteran driver Wayne Skinner, held his own as well as Rachel York, Southhaven MS, as they finished fifth and sixth respectivly.
Heat two got underway as another loaded field made their way onto the track.Tommy Surrett gained an early lead with Jon Mitchell, Texarkana TX hot on his heel.
As they challenged each other Shane Diamant, Maumelle AR began to reel them in, and when the leader Surrett bobbled between turns three and four, both Mitchell and Diamant were able to get around him. Diamant took a little ride through the infield as he challenged Mitchell for the lead while crossing the start finish line, but held on, and finished second to Mitchell. Surrett was able to gather himself up finishing third, and brought hard charging Terry Henson, N Little Rock and Ian Samuel, Trumann AR with him.
Heat three brought to the table a mixture of the very young in Dalton Alexander to the seasoned Dewaine Hottinger, Russellville AR, with a mixture of the established talent of Kyle Beard, Trumann AR, Billy Moyer Jr, Batesville AR, and Jon Kirby, Russellville AR, all hungry and ready to devour the 1/4 mile track. Beard took command of the lead with Hottinger close behind as Kirby and Moyer Jr ran side by side all the way to the finish line where I am glad that I didn't have to make the call of who crossed the line first it was that close.
There was only a moment to catch your breath, as the drivers in heat four were on the track and making the dirt fly again. Gary Scott Christian, Broken Arrow OK took the number one spot as Allen Murry, San Antonio TX fell in behind. Christian and Murry pulled away from the pack as the trio, Mike Leal, Andy Hockenhull, Conway AR, and Kenny Basco, Malvern AR fought for the same piece of real estate. The eight words of "We are HUNGRY and the HEAT IS ON!, would have easily summed up the heat race action, but what is fine dining without a great appetizer? When it was time for the main dish to be served I didn't pull up my normal chair in the stands, but rather, was given the opportunity to dine in the infield.
The main event was served up in AMP fashion with driver introductions, command to start engines, and the four wide salute to the fans. With the caution light out, the original AMP flagman Will Essex dropped the green flag and we soon found ourselves elbow deep in some finger licking good racing. Mitchell, Beard, Diamant, and Tippen mixed it up for the top four spots and began to pull away from the rest of the field, while Hottinger, Wells Jr, Moyer Jr, Cole, and Henson grouped together to battle for the fifth thru tenth spots. Watching the race from the infield one gets an interesting taste of how much upper body work these drivers do as they manuver through the turns. I was also privy to a sneak peak of Gary Scott Christian's character after an early caution which brought him into the infield via the hook. While they worked on his car to get him off the hook, and sheet metal adjusted, Christian held his cool, let them do what they needed to do, and didn't hesitate to speed off leaving a wake of dust just in time to rejoin the field as the racing action resumed. Kyle Beard also showed good character by not giving up when spun out while running in the second postition, went to the back of the pack, and rebounded with a ninth place finish. As the laps quickly passed by it was all Jon Mitchell who held his line and sailed past the flag stand as the double checkers flew. As always, when I am a guest of the AMP family, I leave the track satisfied and well feed with some of the best racing there is in the area.
