Macon Speedway May 17th
 
Macon Speedway will honor rain checks from May 10th. The night will also give way to Crazy Chicks N Cars and Meridian School night. The Track surface has been great and the side beside racing awesome. Late Model standout Kyle Logue is 3 for 3, can he make 4 in a row. Modified drivers can use May 17th to tune their cars for May 24th increased payout of $750 to win. Modifieds also get $75 to start the feature, and this applies for the remainder of the year. Sportsman feature has bounced between Pickering with 2 wins and Wood with 1 win, will May 17th give Wood his 2nd win? Streetstocks have had four races and four different winners. Pro Hornets has been 4 in a row for Joe Reed

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Show Car to Appear at Macon Speedway This Saturday, May 10

(Macon, IL)  Bring your Mom and your camera to Macon Speedway this Saturday Night for our annual Mother Dear night to honor all mothers at the track this Saturday.  While Mom and you are there get your photo taken next to the #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. show car.  The show car will be on display from 5-8 pm.  There will be a special mother’s only drawing for door prizes and mothers will receive an extra surprise when they come in the gate on Saturday night.  Also, scheduled for the night we will have the Crazy Chicks N Cars for the 1st time this season.  Come and check out the Crazy Chicks battle it out to see who will reign supreme.  Macon Speedway is proud to be giving the modified division an increase in its weekly modified feature payout. We now will be paying $75.00 to start the feature event, starting May 10. 
Macon Speedway will also host its second Macon Speedway driver autograph session for 2008, so bring your pens and your favorite items to be autographed to Macon Speedway’s pavilion and meet our local dirt track heroes.  Don’t forget to show your support for the modified drivers as one lucky modified driver will once again be drawn to choose his or her Best Fan in the Stands.  If you are the fan that they choose that night you will win $100, so be creative and show your support for the modified division.
 
Next week Macon Speedway will play host to the Meridian Schools.  Drivers beware!  There will be plenty of green in the stands as the Meridian Hawks show their school spirit by wearing their school color..green!  New to Macon Speedway, our 1st car show.  Do you have a car that you would like to enter?  If so just call Macon Speedway at 217-764-3000 to enter.  Trophies will be awarded and you will get the opportunity to drive your car on Macon Speedway 1/5 mile dirt track.

Macon Speedway Announces Increased Modified Payoff
 
Macon Speedway is proud to announce an increase in its weekly modified feature payout. We now will be paying $75.00 to start the feature event. Starting May 10, the increase will take effect.
 
Also, the UMP Modifieds will be running for an increased payoff on May 24th as they will be going for the $750 1st place prize. With very exciting racing in the competitive modified division and the fan in the stands $200 bonus promotion, UMP National Points and now the payoff increase the division should be strong for a long time.

Macon Speedway Recap 5-3-08

Macon – Macon Speedway was proud to hold the Cinco de Mayo Festival Saturday night. Festivities included a sombrero giveaways and a jalapeno eating contest. Chad Justice took home a pair of Macon Speedway tickets for eating the most peppers in 15 seconds.
The consummate pros Kyle Logue and Steve Sheppard Jr. finished first and second in race number three of the MidWest Big Ten Series for the Chevrolet Late Models. After his third place finish on Friday at Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville, Logue now holds a commanding lead in the series point standings.
Blue Mound’s Cory Daugherty racked up a few points of his own by finishing in third place. He’s well on his way to winning a nice share of the series prize. Jason Unzicker won the second ace of the series on Friday at Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville.
Jim Leka from Buffalo worked his way around Steve Ewing for a win in the BARBECK Communications Modified feature. Former Street Stock champion Ewing posted his best ever finish in the Modified class.
“It feels like a win. If you’re losing to (Leka), you’re doing alright.” Ewing said.
In the Hornet feature, Bruce Dulgar brought Joe Reed’s three-race winning streak to end. Tyler Blankenship from St. Elmo held off Steve Ewing to win his second street stock feature of the season.
All the way from Avon, Ind., 14 year old Zac Bunten won the first race of his very young career. His first visit to Macon Speedway, Bunten drove away from local youth racer Justin Leka in the AFCO Kid Modz feature race.

The Chevrolet Late Models are back in action this Saturday night at Macon Speedway. Last week’s POWRi Midgets and Micros lit up the track, but it’s time to get back to chasing the elusive track championships.

Saturday’s Cinco de Mayo festival will feature a jalapeno eating contest and free sombreros for the first 30 adults and the first 30 kids. Fans will also get their chance to win a Cadillac Deville in Kenny’s Car Giveaway and drive their prize home courtesy of Advantage Auto Sales.
 
This week, Kyle Logue will have to finish near the front to defend his points lead over an improved Cory Daugherty from Blue Mound. Jeremy Nichols sits atop the BARBECK Communications Modifieds standings with tested veteran and defending track champion Jim Leka looming in the distance. Mike Pickering and Norm Wood are in a dogfight and tied in points for the Sportsman championship. Larry Russell Jr. finally broke out in the street stock
