Due to the nearly 5" of rain at the race track this week, ( and a 60% chance for Thurs-Fri- Sat) we have decided to move the Shaheen's Blast from the Past back one week to October 2nd. This will now run in conjunction with Farmingtons Queens Royale on Saturday October 3rd.

It will be the same show with nearly $7200.00 to win for the Winged Sprints & 750 each for the Street Stocks & Micro Sprints. Trophies in all classes!!

Reserved seating is available by calling 217-370-1957. No blankets will be allowed prior to the grandstands opening at 4:00....

Pits will open at 3:00, grandstands at 4:00.

Hope to see everyone make the 2 back to back shows, they should be great with very good names and car counts!!

This Friday Sept 4 Morgan County Speedway Special last non-wing show of 2009 paying $2000 to win - Plus UMP Modifieds with $1000 to win

This Friday 9/4 will be the last non wing show of the year. It should be a good one with $2000 to win! UMP Modifieds will be paying $1000 to win, Street stock will be $500 to win and the 4 cylinders will be $250 to win!! This late in the year, still running for points we should draw a good car count.

Pill draw ends at 6:00, if you can't make it by then, give Kim a call and she can draw a pill for you. Pits will be open at 4:00 ($30.00 pit pass) with racing around 7:00.

The grandstands will be open at 5:00 $16.00 adults, $14.00 seniors, 16 & under FREE, and all college students $2.00 with a valid, current student ID.

MACON SPEEDWAY’S MIDWEST BIG TEN SERIES EVENT THIS WEEKEND AT MORGAN COUNTY SPEEDWAY!

(Macon, IL) Macon Speedway is excited to announce another popular Midwest Big Ten Series race will be held this Friday night at Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville. Morgan County Speedway, Jacksonville, IL, and Shepps Speedway, Alexander, IL has teamed up with Macon Speedway for our promotion, the “Midwest Big Ten Series”. The three tracks will host a series of races to be held in the 2009 racing season, the dates of the three remaining races in the series are this Friday, Aug 14 at Morgan County Speedway and August 22 at Macon Speedway, then finally at Shepps Speedway to finish out the series. Each of the ten races will include larger winnings to the winner of the feature. At the end of the season the points each driver has accumulated in those 10 races will be totaled and there will be $10,000 distributed throughout the top ten Late Models with the top point fund winner taking home another $3,000!

So far with two of the ten races down our point’s leader is Steve Sheppard Jr. racing his #5 Late Model. Closing in on Sheppard is his son, Brandon Sheppard in his 5B and Kyle Logue in his Sav Mor Pharmacy #21 Late Model. Both Brandon Sheppard and Kyle Logue are close on the winner’s heels. This weekend’s events will be crucial for all three drivers to sustain their point’s leads which will send them into the final weekend of the series on Aug 22 & Aug 23. Not far behind the top three is Macon Speedway’s Chris Dick of Springfield, IL who is currently sitting in second place behind Kyle Logue for the point’s race at Macon Speedway.

Don’t miss our Night of Nascar Stars II featuring Tony Stewart, Ken Schrader and Mark Martin on September 2. We have plenty of good seats still available by calling 217-764-3000. Tickets are $20 for adults and children 12 & under are $5. Gates will open at 3pm with the autograph session taking place from 4:30-5:30pm. Get your chance to meet Tony, Ken and Mark!

Thanks to an anonymous donor we have a bonus for the winner of BOTH features at Jacksonville and Shepp's this weekend. If one driver wins both features there will be a $1,500.00 bonus!! After Sunday's race, if no one person wins both features, then the winner of each feature (Jacksonville & Shepp's) will receive an additional $500.00!! That is a pretty good incentive to run both tracks this weekend. Billy and I will be at Shepp's on Sunday to see who the lucky driver (or drivers) are! Please help get this word out to everyone that you can think of. Sorry for the short notice. If this pans out, this is a very big possibility to happen again at our July show.

The POWRI show for Friday in Jacksonville has been rescheduled to July 17th for a 2 day show.
The rains earlier in the week left the ground soggy, more rain this morning and forecast for storms all tomorrow afternoon have shut us down for this week.

Sprint Invaders Join Open Wheel Tripleheader Friday in Jacksonville!

May 11, 2009 – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders will try it again at the Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois this Friday night, May 15! This will mark the tenth visit to the banked ¼ mile in the eight year history of the Sprint Invaders. A date in early April was weathered out. Also on the card, are the popular POWRi Midgets and POWRi 600cc Micro-Sprint series making for an "open wheel only" tripleheader!

The Sprint Invaders opened their season at the 34 Raceway four weeks ago. 2007 series champion Kaley Gharst and car owner Randy Plath emerged victorious, and signaled that they will be a team to contend with all summer long. "Flyin'" Ryan Jamison who finished second, Matt Rogerson, who finished third and defending series champion, John Schulz round out the top four in the standings. Jimmy Davies and Rookie of the Year candidate, Ben Wagoner, are tied for fifth heading into Jacksonville.

Other drivers expected to appear include Bobby Mincer, Josh Schneiderman, Matt Sutton, Justin Parrish, 2008 "Most Improved" driver, Matt Harms, 2008 Rookie of the Year, Andy Huston, Donnie Steward and many more!

All-time Feature Wins leader, Jerrod Hull (12), is expected to be a favorite on Friday. In nine Sprint Invaders feature events at Jacksonville, only Hull has been able to repeat as a winner. Other winners at the fairgrounds facility have included Joey Montgomery, Terry McCarl, Tim Montgomery, Jesse Giannetto, Robbie Standridge, Gharst and Schneiderman, who took the "Herb Barlow Memorial" last October.

FREE ADMISSION TO THE GRANDSTANDS FOR TEENS 16 & UNDER

The Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville is giving teens something to do on Friday nights, and it is FREE! Starting opening night 4/17/09 the speedway will be allowing free admission to the grandstands for teens 16 & under. In the past, the speedway has allowed free admission only for ages 12 and under that is accompanied by an adult. (However, ages 12 and under still need to be with an adult for safety reasons.)

Free entertainment for teens is limited in the area and the speedway hopes to gain future race fans and possibly future racers! Teens will be able to watch the races from the grandstands with their family and friends each Friday night.
