Northern All Stars Late Model Series Cancels All 2012 Events Including Quincy Raceways Show
Quincy Raceways was informed by Shawn Hall, owner of the Northern All Star Late Model Series, that it was suspending the operations and all events for the remainder of the 2012 racing season on Monday May 14. It is with great disappointment that Quincy Raceways will not be able to present the two scheduled NALMS events, May 20 and July 22 for this season. We were very excited to be able to schedule these events for the Quincy Raceways fans and drivers and hoped that they would be a great addition to the schedule for 2012. We respect the decision that the owners of NALMS have made but do wish to express our intent to provide the best racing entertainment possible. Quincy Raceways was fully prepared to present the NALMS race events as scheduled and had expected those events to be very successful..
Quincy Raceways has obtained permission from IMCA to add back to the schedule for May 20, the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMods and the IMCA Stock Cars for points racing. We will have a complete regular event for Sunday May 20 featuring the UMP Super Late Models, Miller Lite UMP Modifieds, Summy Tire and Auto Center Northern SportMods, the Quincy Hobby Stocks and the IMCA Sport Compacts with all classes competing for Track Points.
The Pit Gates will open at 2:30, Grandstands at 4:00, Drivers Registration ends at 4:30, Drivers Meeting at 4:30, Hot Laps at 4:45 and Racing at 5:30pm. Visit the Quincy Raceways website at www.quincyraceways.com or call the Track Hotline at 217-224-4100 for more information.

Dustin Griffin, Michael Long, Abe Huls, Jim Gillenwater, Tanner Klingele and Seith Woodruff all claimed feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday May 13 during the Mothers Day Yellow Book Night at the Races.
Dustin Griffin made a clean sweep of the UMP Super Late Model division action by winning his heat race, the Summy Tire and Auto Center Dash and the thirty lap main event. Griffin rebounded from engine woes during last weeks action to take his first win in the Super Late Models by leading all thirty laps. Mark Burgtorf pushed an ailing car into the second spot followed by Denny Woodworth in third, Justin Reed in fourth and Brian Diveley in fifth. Burgtorf and Clint Kirkham took the other heat race wins.
Michael Long took the lead on the third lap of the twenty five lap Miller Lite UMP Modified main event from his outside second row starting position and cruised away to take a dominating win. Dave Weitholder scored the second spot with Jared Schlipman in third, Jake Griffin in fourth and Shawn Deering in fifth. Schlipman, Long and Weitholder took the heat race wins.
Abe Huls was the class of the field in the IMCA Stock Car main event as he won his second feature of the season. Huls bested Aaron Brocksieck in second, Terry Houston in third, Jerry Jansen in fourth and Michael Larson in fifth. Ty Hill and Houston were the heat race winners.
Seventeen Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMods checked in to do battle with Jim Gillenwater collecting his second feature win in a row after a great battle with Tony Dunker. Dunker settled for the second spot followed by Bobby Anders in third, Tanner Klingele in fourth and Brad Holtmeyer in fifth. Dunker, Joe Bliven and Gillenwater were the heat race winners.
Tanner Klingele took over the lead of the Hobby Stock feature event on the third lap and held off all challengers to score the main event win. Klingele held off the challenges of Jeremy Buss in second, Brandon Symmonds in third, Nathan Hayes in fourth and Jamie Bevill in fifth. Bevill and Klingele were the heat race winners.
Seith Woodruff came from his fifth row starting spot to take the win in the wild and crazy IMCA Sport Compact main event. Woodruff held off Casey Lambert in second, Kimberly Abbott in third, Brandon Lambert in fourth and Andrew Davis in fifth. Abbott and Thomas Angelo were the heat race winners.
The Northern All Star Late Models will invade Quincy Raceways next Sunday May 20 with a $2000 to Win, $300 to Start Feature Event. A field of over 30 of the high powered UMP Super Late Models is expected to provide a super race night for the fans. The UMP Modifieds, Quincy Hobby Stocks and the IMCA Sport Compacts will also be on the race schedule for the evenings events. Erb Drops In and Cashes In at Quincy

Dennis Erb, Robbie Reed, Terry Houston, Jim Gillenwater, Jake Powers and Andrew Davis all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday May 6 during Poage Auto Plaza Night at the Races.
The UMP Super Late Models checked in twenty three entrants for the evenings racing and the large field did not disappoint the fans. Dewayne Kiefer grabbed the win in the first heat race in his first ever appearance at Quincy Raceways with Mark Burgtorf taking heat two and Dennis Erb grabbing the checkers in heat three. Erb took the win in the dash after a hard fought battle with Burgtorf during the early stages but Burgtorf retired for the night with mechanical problems midway through the dash. Erb and Brandon Sheppard sat on the front row of the thirty lap main event with Erb taking the early lead and looking like a shoe in for the win but a series of caution flags kept the field close throughout the event. In the closing laps, Dewayne Kiefer rallied to Erbs rear bumper in heavy traffic but had to settle for second when the checkered flag flew. Sheppard claimed third followed by Michael Long in fourth and Bobby Pierce in fifth.
Robbie Reed took the lead of the Miller Lite UMP Modified feature event from Troy Grotz on the third lap with David Wietholder climbing into second on the fifth lap. Reed and Wietholder battled side by side during the remaining laps of the twenty five lapper, exchanging the lead numerous times to have the crowd on their feet and screaming at the action. Reed held on for the win as Weitholder slipped high in turn two with two laps left. Wietholder claimed second followed by Jake Griffin in third, Steven DeLonjay in fourth and Shawn Deering in fifth. Griffin, Reed and Wietholder were the heat race winners.
Terry Houston laid claim to the IMCA Stock Car main event after a hard fought battle with Aaron Brocksieck. Brocksieck settled for second with Jerry Jansen in third, Abe Huls in fourth and Gabe Harrison in fifth. Michael Larson who took the heat race win was uninjured as his Stock Car flipped coming off turn two during the main event.
Jim Gillenwater took a hard fought win in the Summy Tire & Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMod main event by holding off Tony Dunker to take his first win of the season at Quincy. Dunker settled for second followed by Joe Bliven in third, Tanner Klingele in fourth and Rick Barlow Jr. in fifth. Gillenwater took the heat race win.
Jake Powers made a clean sweep of the Quincy Hobby Stock division by winning both his heat race and the twenty lap main event. Nathan Anders scored the second spot followed by Jeremy Buss in third, Brandon Symmonds in fourth and Jim Brown in fifth. Jim Powell took the other heat race win.
Andrew Davis laid claim the win in the IMCA Sport Compact main event by holding off Mike Hornung Jr. in a tight battle to the checkered flag. Hornung settled for second with Seith Woodrow in third, Thomas Angelo in fourth and Joe McDannald in fifth. Angelo and Davis were the heat race winners.

NASCAR Star Kenny Wallace to Race at Quincy Raceways on April 29
A fan favorite NASCAR star Kenny Wallace will be racing his UMP Modified at Quincy Raceways on Sunday April 29. Wallace will be battling the local stars to try and take the laurels back to North Carolina during the John Wood Community College Night at the Races. Wallace will be available after the events activities are concluded to meet race fans in the Quincy Raceways pit area.
Wallace is known for his wild and wacky antics off track as well as his longevity on the track. He appears weekly on Speeds NASCAR race coverage on TV and races his UMP Modified as much as possible throughout the United States. Kenny has been a frequent visitor to the Broadway Bullring over the years as he spent several years helping his brother Mike in the pit area during the NASCAR Winston Racing Series wars during the 1980s.
The pit gates open at 2:30, Grandstands at 4, Driver Registration ends at 4:30, Drivers Meeting at 4:30, Hot Laps at 4:45 and Racing Action at 5:30pm. Adults are $10, Seniors $7, Students (11-15) $5 and Kids 10 and Under are Free. Quincy Raceways Schedules Northern All Stars for July 22
Quincy Raceways is proud to announce the rescheduling of the rained out April visits of the Northern All Stars Series for Sunday July 22. The $2000 to Win, $300 to Start event will be joined by the Miller Lite UMP Modifieds, Quincy Hobby Stocks and the IMCA Sport Compacts. The All Stars will also be coming to Quincy Raceways for their first event on Sunday May 20.
The May 20 event will see the pit gates opening at 2:30, Grandstands at 4, Drivers Registration ends at 4:30, Drivers Meeting at 4:30, Hot Laps at 4:45 and Racing at 5:30pm. On Sunday July 22 the event will have times that are one hour later with the pit gates opening at 3:30, Grandstands at 5, Drivers Registration ends at 5:30, Drivers Meeting at 5:30, Hot Laps at 5:45 and Racing at 6:30pm. Mother Nature Spoils the Fun at Quincy
Mother Nature has spoiled the action at Quincy Raceways for a second week in a row. The skys opened up late last night and a persistent rain that lasted until about 8:30 this morning has cancelled the Northern All Stars Special again this week. The event will hopefully be rescheduled at a later date.

Northern All Star Special Event at Quincy Raceways Rescheduled for Sunday April 22
The Northern All Star Special Event that was originally rained out on April 15 at Quincy Raceways has been rescheduled for Sunday April 22. Northern All Star Series Director Shawn Hall expects to see the same or better car count for this $2000 to Win, $300 to Start event. Some of the possible drivers that may attend are Jason Feger, Ryan Unzicker, Bobby Pierce, Donnie Walden as well as all the Quincy Raceways regulars. The Northern All Star Late Models will be joined by the Miller Lite UMP Modifieds, IMCA Northern Sport Mods, Quincy Hobby Stocks and the IMCA Sport Compacts. The IMCA Stock Car will get a race night off for this event.

Northern All-Star Late Model Special at Quincy Rescheduled for April 22

Mother Nature has forced the cancellation of the much anticipated Northern All-Star Late Model Special Event at Quincy Raceways on Sunday April 15. Mother Nature provided some much needed rain for the area on Friday and Saturday but with more rain and storms in the forecast for Saturday night and Sunday, Quincy Raceways has had to reschedule the event for Sunday April 22.
The Northern All-Stars will be racing for $2000 to Win and $300 to Start on Sunday April 22. The Miller Lite UMP Modifieds, the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMods, the Quincy Hobby Stocks and the IMCA Sport Compacts will also be racing on that night as well. The IMCA Stock Cars will get the night off.

Bailey, Wietholder, Brocksieck, Dunker, Hoener and Abbott Claim Feature Wins at Quincy

Easter Sunday brought about some of the best racing ever at Quincy Raceways as Matt Bailey laid claim to the feature win in the UMP Super Late Model division after a hard fought battle with Bobby Pierce. Dustin Griffin took the early lead in the 30 lap main event from his pole position starting spot and looked to be on his way to victory by a lap seventeen caution flag brought the field back together with Bobby Pierce grabbing the top spot on the restrart with Griffin falling to third behind Matt Bailey in second. Pierce held Bailey at bay until lap twenty seven when Bailey powered by on the high side to take a slim lead. Bailey held on for two circuits until Pierce pulled a clean slide job in turn one and two heading to the white flag but Bailey grabbed the lead by with a bold outside pass on the final lap to claim his first UMP Super Late Model feature event victory. Pierce held on for second followed by Griffin in third, Justin Reed in fourth and Brandon Sheppard in fifth. Griffin and Sheppard were the heat race winners with Griffin taking the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Dash.
The Miller Lite UMP Modified main event was another real barnburner as David Wietholder held off a very determined Michael Long over the final fifteen laps of the twenty five lap main event. Wietholder lead evey lap but had to hold back Long in a closely contested contest over the final laps with Wietholder taking the checkered flag only .056 of a second ahead of Long. Third went to Robbie Reed followed by Steven DeLonjay in fourth and Jared Schlipman in fifth. DeLonjay, Reed and John Coultas were the heat race winners.
Aaron Brocksieck took the lead in the IMCA Stock Car main event on the second circuit and dominated the rest of the way to the checkered flag to take his first win of the season. Terry Houston battled his way into the second spot at the checkered flag followed by Jerry Jansen in third, Michael Larson in fourth and Darin Weisinger in fifth. Houston took the lone heat race win.
Jim Gillenwater took the early lead in the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMod main event at the drop of the green flag and looked strong to take the feature event win but after a restart on lap seven, Gillenwater suffered engine woes giving the lead over to Tony Dunker. Dunker then went on to a dominating victory in the twenty lapper followed by Brandon Ruffcorn in second, Joe Bliven in third, Brad Holtmeyer in fourth and Brandon Dale in fifth. Gillenwater and Dunker were the heat race winners.
Brian Hoener took his first ever Hobby Stock feature event win in dominating fashion by holding off Jeremy Buss in second, Jake Powers in third, Brandon Symmonds in fourth and Nathan Hayes in fifth. Hoener and Buss were the heat race winners.
Kimberly Abbott took the feature event win in the wild and crazy IMCA Sport Compact division by holding off several different challengers during the event. The second spot went to Andrew Davis followed by Seith Woodruff in third, Chuck Fullenkamp in fourth and Mike Hornung Jr. in fifth. Davis and Fullenkamp were the heat race winners.
Next up at Quincy Raceways on Sunday April 15 will be the first appearance of the year for the Northern All Star Late Models racing for a top prize of $2000. A large field of UMP Super Late Models along with the Miller Lite UMP Modifieds, Quincy Hobby Stocks and IMCA Sport Compacts will be on hand to provide another great night of racing action. Reed Grabs First UMP Super Late Model Win at Quincy

Justin Reed, Steven DeLonjay, Abe Huls, Tony Dunker, Jake Griffin and Chuck Fullenkamp all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on the opening night of the 2012 race season on April 1.
Brandon Sheppard looked to be a shoe-in winner in the first UMP Super Late Model main event for the 2012 season but 2011 Quincy Raceways IMCA Late Model Track Champion Justin Reed had other ideas. Sheppard took the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Dash to start the main event on the pole with Michael Long on his outside. Sheppard took the early lead with Long in tow but by lap six, Reed worked his way into the second position. Reed then slowly crept up on Sheppard and on lap fourteen managed to take over the top spot as Sheppard began to fade. Reed then pulled out to a several car length lead as Mark Burgtorf worked his way up to challenge Sheppard and on the nineteenth circuit took over the second spot but Sheppard was not giving in easily as he rallied to take back second on the twenty nineth lap. Reed scored the win with Sheppard in second, Burgtorf in third, Matt Bailey in fourth and Michael Long in fifth. The heat race winners were Schott Schmitt, Burgtorf and Jim Moon.
Steven DeLonjay made a big statement as he took the win in the Miller Lite UMP Modified main event. Michael Long jumped into the lead of the twenty five lap main event from his pole starting spot and held off Troy Grotz for the first twelve laps until a multi car accident took Grotz out of contention. DeLonjay had started the feature event in the sixth row and had steadily worked his way through the field and restarted in the second spot after the lap thirteen caution. DeLonjay kept up the pressure on Long and on the twenty second lap he managed to slip past Long to take over the top position. DeLonjay then pulled away for the win followed by Long in second, Robbie Reed in third, Donovan Lodge in fourth and James Leffew in fifth. Jared Schlipman, Reed and Long were the heat race winners.
Abe Huls grabbed the lead of the IMCA Stock Car feature event on the sixth lap and held off a pesky Terry Houston to take the first IMCA Stock Car feature win of the season. Houston settled for second followed by Jerry Jansen in third, Jeff Mueller in fourth and Ty Hill in fifth. Aaron Brocksieck and Huls were the heat race winners.
Tony Dunker took the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMod main event but Dunker had to hold off a very determined field to take the win. Dean Kratzer put the pressure on Dunker for most of the main event before slipping back on the last lap to third as young Tanner Klingele took over the second spot as the checkered flag fell. The fourth spot went to Bobby Anders followed by Joe Bliven in fifth. Jim Gillenwater and Klingele were the heat race winners.
Jake Powers held off Jeremy Buss to take the win in the Hobby Stock feature event. Powers took the lead on the third lap and held Buss at bay for the remainder of the twenty laps followed by Travis Booher in third, Nathan Hayes in fourth and Jamie Bevill in fifth. Jim Powell and Tanner Klingele were the heat race winners.
The IMCA Sport Compacts may have gotten a new name and sanction for 2012 but the action was just about a crazy as the 2011 Wild Things division were in the past. Chuck Fullenkamp took the feature win over Seith Woodruff in second, Andrew Davis in third, Brandon Lambert in fourth and Kimberly Abbott in fifth. Craig Bangert and Woodruff were the heat race winners.

Quincy Raceways Opens 2012 Race Season April 1
Quincy Raceways is ready to open the 2012 race season this Sunday April 1 with a
huge night of motor mayhem. The newly sanctioned UMP Super Late Models, UMP
Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Northern Sport Mods, Quincy Raceways Hobby
Stocks and IMCA Sport Compacts will all be featured divisions for the 2012
season. A large field of racers is expected as the pre-season car show and
practice nights have seen a huge interest in competing at Quincy Raceways.
Pit Gates open at 2:30, Grandstands at 4:00, Drivers Registration ends and
Drivers Meeting at 4:30, Hot Laps at 4:45 and Racing at 5:30pm during April and
May. Adults are $10, Seniors $7, Teens $5 and Kids 10 and under are Free.
