American Sprint Car Tour Visits Ponderosa Speedway on Friday October 15

Junction City, KY- October 8, 2010- After taking this week off, Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Donnie Sullivan and family will return with a unique night of racing action on Friday October 15 as the American Sprint Car Tour will bring Sprint Car racing to “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” for the first time since 1995.      

The American Sprint Car Tour will visit on Friday October 15 and bring a wide-open, sideways style of racing action, as the ASCT features the non-wing, full-size 410 Sprint Cars.  Also on the Friday October 15 racing program will be the Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds paying $1,000 to win, Street Stocks paying $300 to win, and Front Wheel Drives paying $150 to win.  The ASCT Sprints and UMP Modifieds will time trial, while all divisions will be in action in heats and features.

As an added attraction at the conclusion of the October 15 racing program, time permitting, there will be a mechanics race and there will also be spectator drags.

Activities for the October 15 racing program will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 5:00 p.m.  A mandatory drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., followed by practice at 7:15 p.m.  Time trials will go around 7:45 p.m., with racing at 8:30 p.m.  Adult general admission for the October 15 program will be $20, children ages 6 to 12 will be $10, and children under age 6 will be free.  A pit pass is $35.

Bloomington Speedway Postpones Event Until Friday August  20    

Glasgow, KY-August 12, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner has received notice from track promoters Mike and Judy Miles of Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, IN that the scheduled American Modified Series event for Friday August 13 has been postponed due the excessive heat warnings that have been posted for the Central Indiana area until late tomorrow evening.              

The Bloomington Speedway event has been rescheduled for Friday August 20 at the historic ¼ mile red clay Central Indiana oval.  The August 20 event at Bloomington Speedway will feature the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will present a full program of practice, A-B Group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $1,500 to win A-Main presented by Indiana Stone Works and JB Salvage. 

Activities for the Friday August 20 Bloomington Speedway date will see the pit area open at 4:30 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:30 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:15 p.m., with practice set for 6:30 p.m., followed by time trials, with racing set to begin at 7:30 p.m.

General admission ticket prices for this event will be $12, with children ages 12 and under free, while a pit pass will be $25.

Michael England Rocks to 10^th Annual Bluegrass Rumble Win at Bluegrass Speedway

Bardstown, KY-July 24, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner concluded its big money weekend of action at the David and Anita Ferrell promoted Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY on Saturday evening and second-generation racer Michael England would drive to the win in the 10^th Annual Bluegrass Rumble, with the victory worth $3,000.

Randle Sweeney and Shelby Miles would lead the 30 lap American Modified Series A-main event to the green flag, but before a full lap was completed Randle Sweeney would get crossed up in turn three and Jason Wheatley and Bryan Barber would also be involved, with Sweeney done for the night.  This would move Michael England to the pole of the race and he would take the lead on the second start of the race, followed by Shelby Miles, Don Adams, Benji Lee, and Jason Wheatley.  Lee would take third from Adams on lap 3 as England and Miles set a torrid pace at the point.  Wheatley would mount a challenge on Adams for third and would grab the spot on lap 6 as the front five would remain the same at this point through lap 10.

Miles would close on England on lap 12 and England started to work slower traffic, while Doug Adkins would scoot past Adams for on lap 14.  With Miles continuing to apply pressure on England for the lead, Wheatley would reel in third place running Lee and that pair would begin to battle for the third position.  A caution for debris on lap 19 would slow the event for the final time and on the double-file restart, England would pull away Miles off of turn two and maintain the lead, while Lee and Wheatley continued their struggle for third.  Wheatley would finally take third with a turn two slidejob pass on lap 22 as Miles continued to dog England for the top spot.  England would pull away from Miles in the final five circuits of the race and take the checkered flag first in the Team WompusCat owned Jeffries Auto Salvage/Williams and Tucker Auto Salvage/Kentucky Clutch Salvage/Horton Racing/Waterhead Motorsports/Chuck Davis Machine/Simpson Machine and Fabrication sponsored #10.5 Lightning Chassis, Pro Power Race Engine powered machine.  Miles, Wheatley, Lee, and Adkins would complete the top five, with the remainder of the top ten going to Adams, Miguel Coffey, 14^th starting John Demoss, Ed Shamhart, and 16^th starting J.T. Ayers.   

In preliminary action, Benji Lee be the SPEC Race Engines top qualifier with a lap of 17.553 seconds.  Sweeney would win Wehr’s Machine and Racing Products heat one, England would win PPM Racing Products heat two, Miles would win Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil heat three, and Wheatley would win Wiles Driveshafts heat four.  The B-Mains would be captured by Rob Penny and Trent Youngr, while the series provisional went to Mike Selby, with Brad Schlosser taking the track provisional.   

The next events for the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will take place on Friday August 13 at Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, IN and on Saturday August 14 at Lawrenceburg, IN in Lawrenceburg, IN, with both events paying $1,500 to win and $200 to start.

Bryan Barber Bags Wick Racing Fuel/VP Racing Fuel Summer Shootout 30 at Ponderosa Speedway   

Junction City, KY-July 23, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner returned to action on Friday evening at the Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz promoted Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY for the 6^th Annual Wick Racing Fuel/VP Racing Fuel Summer Shootout 30 and Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY would lead all 30 laps of the A-Main to pick up the $3,000 payday and take over the series points lead.

Bryan Barber and Joey Kramer would bring the field to the green flag to start the 30 lap, $3,000 to win event, with Barber taking the race lead, while Jason Wheatley, Kramer, Everett Bradham, and J.T. Ayers would give chase.  Ayers would drive past Branham for fourth on lap 3 as Barber would build a six car length lead by lap 5.  The front five would remain the same until lap 8 when Michael England would race his way into the top five and into fifth past Bradham, with Don Adams moving into sixth two trips later on lap 9. 

Barber would continue to hold the lead as the race approached its midpoint, with Wheatley and Kramer still second and third, but England would work past Ayers for fourth on lap 12 and Adams would continue his charge forward by taking fifth from Ayers on lap 14.  Race leader Barber would begin the process of lapping backmarkers on lap 16 and Wheatley would slowly begin to reel in Barber.  England would mount a challenge for third from Kramer and take the spot on lap 19, with Adams driving Kramer for fourth one circuit later.

By lap 22, Wheatley had closed to within a car-length of Barber for the race lead and the front pair worked heavy traffic at this point, allowing England to begin to close in on Wheatley for second, but Adams would get in the mix as well and would drive around England for third on lap 24.  As action continued to be hot at the point, the field received the five to go signal with Barber and Wheatley nose-to-tail for the lead.  However, a caution for debris on the backchute would slow the action and set up a double-file restart.  The restart would come back for a six car melee in turn two among John Demoss, Benji Lee, Matt Goulden, Randle Sweeney, Jimmy Payne, and Kelly Warren, with Lee and Sweeney both eventually pulling putside.  The final restart would see Barber gain the advantage again, with Kramer going back around Adams for fourth.  Barber would pull away in the final three laps to take the victory in his Roby’s Country Gardens/ B&B Motorsports/All Star Performance/Scott Clippenger Racing/Cox Wrecker Service sponsored #10 Bandit Race Car, Jay Dickens Race Engines powered mount, with Wheatley, England, Kramer, and Adams completing the top five.  The remainder of the top ten would be Bradham, Ed Shamhart, Elliott Despain, Skylar Marlar, and Trent Young.

Wick Racing Fuel and VP Racing Fuel to Sponsor AMS Summer Shootout July 23 at Ponderosa    

Glasgow, KY-July 20, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner is proud to announce the addition of a pair of sponsors for the 6^th Annual Summer Shootout at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY for this Friday July 23.            

The July 23 Ponderosa Speedway event will know be known as the Wick Racing Fuel/VP Racing Fuel Summer Shootout 30 and will be sanctioned by the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner.  The AMS tour will present a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $3,000 to win 6^th Annual Wick Racing Fuel/VP Racing Fuel Summer Shootout 30 A-Main. 

Activities for the July 23 Ponderosa Speedway date will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:45 p.m., with practice set for 7:00 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:30 p.m., with racing set to begin at 8:30 p.m.  All times listed are EDT.  General admission ticket prices for this event will be $15, children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, children under age 6 will be free, and a pit pass will be $35.

American Modified Series Make-Up Event at Vermilion County Speedway Cancelled    

Glasgow, KY-July 14, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner unfortunately has to announce the cancellation of the event that had been rescheduled for Sunday July 18 at Vermilion County Speedway in Danville, IL.          

AMS race director Niles Lauderbaugh was notified yesterday by Vermilion County Speedway co-promoter Angie Pierce that she and husband Bob would not be able to host the tour this Sunday as they have stepped down as promoters at the track located at the Vermilion County Fairgrounds and will not present anymore racing events there in 2010.  Everyone with the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner is saddened by this unfortunate turn of events and wish Bob and Angie Pierce the best of luck in all future endeavors in the dirt racing industry.

For those drivers that were entered in the event at Vermilion County Speedway that was originally scheduled on May 1 and rained out after heat races were completed and then rescheduled for July 18, the following will apply to all entry fees that were paid for the event:  Those drivers that have paid entry fees that were in attendance at the above mentioned event that has been cancelled will be credited an entry fee at any one (1) of the remaining events on the 2010 American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner schedule.

The next events for the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will take place in Central Kentucky with a doubleheader of race action.  On Friday July 23, the AMS tour will visit Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY for the 6^th Annual Summer Shootout, paying $3,000 to win.  On Saturday July 24, the tour will make the one hour drive up Hwy. 150 to Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY for the 10^th Annual Bluegrass Rumble, also paying $3,000 to win.

Pierce’s Vermilion County Speedway Up Next for American Modified Series on Sunday July 18 

Glasgow, KY-July 8, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will return to action a brief hiatus on Sunday July 18 at Pierce’s Vermilion County Speedway in Danville, IL  for K-Rock Night that will pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start.  This event was originally scheduled for May 1 and was rained out after qualifying heat races were completed.  .

On Sunday July 18, this rescheduled event will take place at Pierce’s Vermilion County Speedway in Danville, IL as the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will complete its program from the May 1 rainout with a pair of B-Mains and the 30 lap, $1,500 to win A-Main.  Also as part of the July 18 K-Rock Night, there will be an $800 to win UMP Modified feature event that includes a full program for UMP Modifieds, along with a $1,000 to win UMP Pro Late Model feature event, plus Street Stocks, Hornets, and Kid Modz will also be in action.  The Street Stock and Hornet features that were rained out on May 1 will also be contested at this event. 

Activities for the July 18 Pierce’s Vermilion County Speedway make-up date will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., while the general admission area will also open at 3:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 5;45 p.m., with practice set for 6:00 p.m., followed by time trials at 6:30 p.m., with racing set to begin immediately following time trials.  All times listed are CDT.  General admission ticket prices for this event will be $15, children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, children ages 5 and under will be free, and a pit pass will be $30.

John Demoss and Matt Goulden Tied Atop American Modified Series Points    

Glasgow, KY-June 30, 2010- With one-third of the schedule completed, the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner has a tie for its series points lead, with a pair of drivers representing the Hoosier State and the Land of Lincoln having scored the most points at this juncture of the 2010 race season, which is the first season of competition for the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner.        

John Demoss of Bloomington, IN and Matt Goulden of Springfield, IL set tied for the tour’s points lead at this point in the season, with both drivers having accumulated a total of 282 points each.  Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY holds down the third spot in series points with 272 markers, while Robinson, IL native Brian Shaw sits in fourth position with 253 points.  Elliott Despain of Campbellsville, KY completes the top five in with a total of 235 points.    

The second five in series points is lead by Mike Harrison of Highland, IL with 214 points and two series wins at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL.  Youngster Rob Penny of Owensboro, KY is currently in seventh position with 206 points, while veteran Randle Sweeney of Clifty, KY sits eighth in points with 192 and one series event win at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY.  The remaining spots in the top ten in series points belong to Everett Bradham of Olney, IL with 182 points and Chad Kinder of Newton, IL with 174 points.

Wheatley Nips Barber in American Modified Series 10^th Annual Mod Squad Bash at Bluegrass Speedway   

Bardstown, KY-June 26, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner returned to action on Saturday evening at the David and Anita Ferrell promoted Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY for the 10^th Annual Mod Squad Bash and Jason Wheatley would make a last lap pass of Bryan Barber to take the win and the $1,500 payday and his first series victory.

Wheatley’s win would come aboard the Kaylee and Tommy Wheatley owned St. Joe Garage/ VFM Manufacturing/Wheatley Seamless Gutters/Wheatley Tile Flooring/Wheatley Auto Sales/ Brian Wheatley Landscaping/Gootee and Mattingly Heat and Air/Central Kentucky Electrical and Plumbing/Brady Excavating/Mark Martin Chevrolet/Springfield Auto and Farm/Cozy Corner/ Rosewood Golf Course/TSM Shocks/Nukem Graphics sponsored #7 Larry Shaw Race Car by Landers, Mullins Race Engines powered machine.  Barber would take second, followed by Benji Lee nipping Michael England for third in a photo finish, with Joey Kramer completing the five.  The remainder of the top ten would be Randle Sweeney, John Demoss, Wayne Brooks, Earl Plessinger, and Randy Turpin.  

Bryan Barber would take the lead at the drop of the green flag on the 30 lap, caution-free main event, followed by Jason Wheatley, Michael England, Randle Sweeney, and Joey Kramer.  Kramer would take fourth from Sweeney on lap 2 as Barber and Wheatley would set a torrid pace at the point.  By lap 5, Sweeney was attempting to retake fourth from Kramer, but would be unsuccessful.  Benji Lee would now begin to pressure Sweeney for fifth and would take the spot on lap 10 as Barber continued to hold the race lead, with Wheatley giving chase. 

The process of lapping slower traffic would begin on lap 11, with the lead pair of Barber and Wheatley clear of traffic until the halfway signal was shown on lap 15.  The leaders would again get into traffic at this point, while Lee was mounting a charge on Kramer for the fourth position, with Lee finally able to claim the spot on lap 19.

The leaders would again get into heavy traffic on lap 22, with England still third and starting to get some pressure from Lee, while Kramer held down the fifth spot.  Wheatley would close right up on Barber on lap 27 and the pair worked carefully in and around lapped traffic.  Wheatley’s opening would come as the white flag would be displayed and would jump to the bottom of turn one and fire the slidejob pass on Barber exiting turn two to take the race lead and see the checkered flag first.

In preliminary action, Bryan Barber would lay claim to the SPEC Race Engines top qualifier award with a lap of 18.315 seconds.  Barber would also win Wehr’s Machine and Racing Products heat one, Jason Wheatley would win PPM Racing Products heat two, Michael England would win Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil heat three, and Randle Sweeney would win Wiles Driveshafts heat four.  The B-Mains would be captured by Elliott Despain and Levi Kissinger.

American Modified Series Pulls Sanction of Event at Soggy Bottom Raceway June 19 

Glasgow, KY-June 20, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner sanctioned event scheduled for Saturday evening June 19 at Soggy Bottom Raceway was cancelled by series officials.      

American Modified Series officials were approached by Soggy Bottom Raceway track officials prior to time trials getting underway and track officials notified series officials that they would not be able to pay the advertised purse for the event.  Track officials stated they wanted to have the event, but could only do so for a lesser purse, but series officials had already received a signed contract stating the track would pay the advertised purse. 

With practice already complete, drivers were brought together at the series trailer and informed of the situation and series officials notified the drivers, along with the track, they would not sanction an event for less than the advertised purse.  Drivers were refunded their entry fee money and those drivers that did not want to stay and race for the lesser purse and non-sanctioned AMS event were also refunded their pit pass money as well.  A total of 31 entries were on hand and many decided not race because of the reduced payoff and loaded their machines and left the track. 

In response to this event, the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner would like to issue the following statement:  “The American Modified Series apologizes to those drivers and fans that came to Soggy Bottom Raceway to support the tour, but the series was left with no alternative at the time than to cancel the sanction of the race when track officials informed series officials that they would not be able to pay the entire payoff.  The American Modified Series was determined not to sanction an event that would see the racers have to compete for less money than the tour’s guaranteed purse specifies.”

The next event for the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will take place at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY on Saturday June 26 with the 10^th Annual Mod Squad Bash that was originally scheduled for May 15, but was rained out after practice was set to begin.  The A-Main purse for the Saturday June 26 Bluegrass Speedway event will be as follows: 1^st- $1,500, 2^nd- $1,000, 3^rd- $800, 4^th- $700, 5^th- $600, 6^th- $575, 7^th- $550, 8^th- $525, 9^th- $500, 10^th- $400, 11^th- $350, 12^th- $300, 13^th- $275, 14^th- $250, 15^th through 24^th- $200 to start.

American Modified Series Returns to Bluegrass Speedway for Mod Squad Bash on June 26 

Glasgow, KY-June 17, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will return to Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY on Saturday June 26 for the 10^th Annual Mod Squad Bash that will pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start.  This event was originally scheduled for May 15 and was rained out just as practice was set to begin with 37 entries signed in for competition.

On Saturday June 26, the rescheduled 10^th Annual Mod Squad Bash will take place at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY as the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will present a full program that will feature practice, SPEC Race Engines A-B group qualifying, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $1,500 to win 10^th Annual Mod Squad Bash A-Main.  Joining the American Modified Series presented by Force and Fuel and Engine Conditioner in action on Saturday June 26 at Bluegrass Speedway will be the track’s Super Late Model (racing topless) and UMP Sportsman divisions.

Activities for the June 26 Bluegrass Speedway date will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will also open at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 p.m., with practice set for 6:30 p.m., followed by SPEC Race Engines A-B group qualifying at 7:00 p.m., with racing set to begin at or before 8:00 p.m.  All times listed are EDT.  General admission ticket prices for this event will be $15 and a pit pass will be $30.  Also of note, rainchecks and pit passes from the May 15 rainout will be honored at this event.

Comp Cams 30 for American Modified Series at Soggy Bottom Raceway on June 19 

Glasgow, KY-June 10, 2010- After a pair of features in Illinois last weekend, the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will return to competition in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky with the tour’s first ever visit to Soggy Bottom Raceway in Morgantown, KY on Saturday June 19 for the Comp Cams 30 presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner, paying $1,500 to $200 to start.

On Saturday June 19, the Comp Cams 30 presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will take place at Soggy Bottom Raceway in Morgantown, KY as the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will present a full program that will feature practice, SPEC Race Engines A-B group qualifying, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $1,500 to win Comp Cams 30 presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner A-Main.  Joining the American Modified Series presented by Force and Fuel and Engine Conditioner in action on Saturday June 19 at Soggy Bottom Raceway will be the track’s UMP Limited Modified, UMP Mini Stock, Pure Stock, Cruiser, and Rusty Bolts divisions.

Activities for the June 19 Soggy Bottom Raceway date will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will also open at 4:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 p.m., with practice set for 6:15 p.m., followed by SPEC Race Engines A-B group qualifying, with racing set to begin immediately following time trials.  All times listed are CDT.  General admission ticket prices for this event will be $8 and a pit pass will be $30.

Harrison Doubles Up in American Modified Series Action at Fayette County Speedway   

Brownstown, IL-June 4, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner returned to action on Friday evening at the Charlie Depew promoted Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL and Illinois speedster Mike Harrison of Highland, IL would score a double for the evening by picking up the make-up AMS main postponed due to rain on April 30 and also won the scheduled American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner for a profitable $3,000 evening, as both A-Main wins were worth $1,500 each.        

Harrison would jump to the lead at the restart of the April 30 postponed A-Main and never be headed in leading the entire remaining 22 laps of the 30 lap distance.  Chad Kinder would take second, with Tim Hancock scoring a third place finish.  The rest of the top five were Everett Bradham and Denny Schwartz.  The remainder of the top ten would be Jeff Leka, Brian Shaw, Cody Clark, Kelly Devall, and Matt Goulden. 

Harrison would get the race lead in the late stages of the regularly scheduled A-Main event to make it a sweep of A-Mains for the evening for the Highland, IL native.  Tommy Seets, Jr. would finish second, with Dave Crawley finishing third.  Michael Fox and Matt Goulden would complete the top five.  Rounding out the top ten were Michael Bolyard, Rob Penny, Mark Tullis, Cole Hussong, and Elliott Despain.

In preliminary action, Chad Kinder would lay claim to the SPEC Race Engines top qualifier award with a lap of 14.326 seconds.  Larry Anderson would win Wehr’s Machine and Racing Products heat one, Everett Bradham would win PPM Racing Products heat two, Mike Harrison would win Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil heat three, and Matt Goulden would win Wiles Driveshafts heat four.  The B-Mains would be captured by Brian Shaw and Dave Crawley.   

The next event for the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will take place on Saturday June 19 at Soggy Bottom Raceway in Morgantown, KY.  The Saturday June 19 event will pay $1,500 to win, $200 to start the A-Main.

American Modified Series Double Dips at Fayette County Speedway on Friday June 4 

Glasgow, KY-May 27, 2010- After battling with Mother Nature in recent weeks, the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will return to competition on Friday June 4 with a pair of A-Main events paying paying $1,500 and pay $200 to start each at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL.

On Friday June 4, the A-Main event that had 8 laps completed that was rained out back on April 30 will be the first event of the evening as the event will be restart with 8 laps scored, with the distance still scheduled for 30 laps.  Only those drivers that had qualified for the A-Main back on April 30 will be allowed to compete in this race.         

Also on Friday June 4, Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL will host the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner for the second time in 2010 in a program that will feature a full evening of practice, A-B group qualifying, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $1,500 to win A-Main presented by NAPA.  Joining the American Modified Series presented by Force and Fuel and Engine Conditioner in action on Friday June 4 at Fayette County Speedway will be the track’s Street Stock, Hornet, and Team Car divisions.

Activities for the June 4 Fayette County Speedway date will see the pit area open at 5:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 6:45 p.m., with practice immediately after the drivers meeting, followed by A-B group qualifying time trials, with racing at 7:30 p.m. All times are CDT. Ticket prices for this event will be $10 for adults, children ages 8 to 12 $5, and children under age 7 are free, and $30 in the pit area, with children ages 12 and under in the pit area for only $10. Of special note, for race teams taking their children into the pit area, the child waiver/consent form must have the signature of both parents for the child to be allowed in the pit area.

American Modified Series Loses to Rain at Bluegrass Speedway; Rescheduled for June 26 

Glasgow, KY-May 15, 2010- American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner officials and track promoters David and Anita Ferrell were forced to cancel the 10^th Annual Mod Squad Bash event scheduled for this evening at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY as rain showers moved over the area just as the “AMS gang” was set to take to the track for practice.    

Series and track officials have agreed upon a reschedule date for the event and the 10^th Annual Mod Squad Bash will now be rescheduled for Saturday evening June 26.  The is the third even of the season for the tour has been halted or interrupted by Mother Nature. 

The A-Main purse for the Saturday June 26 rescheduled event at Bluegrass Speedway will be as follows: 1^st- $1,500, 2^nd- $1,000, 3^rd- $800, 4^th- $700, 5^th- $600, 6^th- $575, 7^th- $550, 8^th- $525, 9^th- $500, 10^th- $400, 11^th- $350, 12^th- $300, 13^th- $275, 14^th- $250, 15^th through 24^th- $200 to start.

The event for the American Modified Series will take place on Friday June 4 at the Charlie Depew promoted Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL.  This event will feature double A-Main events, with race that was halted due to inclement weather back on April 30 being restart with 8 laps scored, along with a full racing program of American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner.

American Modified Series Mod Squad Bash Set for Bluegrass Speedway on May 15 

Glasgow, KY-May 6, 2010- After a week off and a weekend of race action halted by inclement weather, the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will return to competition on Saturday May 15 with its sanction of the 10^th Annual Mod Squad Bash event at Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY, paying $1,500 and pay $200 to start.         

On Saturday May 15, Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY will host the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner in a program that will feature a full evening of practice, A-B group qualifying, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $1,500 to win 10^th Annual Mod Squad Bash A-Main.  Joining the American Modified Series in action on Saturday May 15 at Bluegrass Speedway will be the track’s Super Late Model and UMP Sportsman divisions.

Activities for the May 15 Bluegrass Speedway date will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m.  The driver’s meeting will be at 6:00 p.m., with practice set for 6:30 p.m. A-B group qualifying time trials will begin at 7:00 p.m., with racing set to begin at or before 8:00 p.m.  All times are EDT.  Ticket prices for this event will be $15 for adults, children ages 6 to 12 will be $8, with children ages 5 and under free, and $30 for pit pass access to the pit area.

American Modified Series Rained On at Pierce’s Vermilion County Speedway May 1; Back at VCS July 18

Glasgow, KY-May 4, 2010- American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner and new track promoters Bob and Angie Pierce of Pierce’s Vermilion County Speedway had their first ever series event halted by rains that moved through the Danville region after heat race events were finished for the evening.   

Series officials and the Pierce family have rescheduled the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner to return to the Pierce’s VCS on Sunday July 18 to complete the May 1 event that was halted by inclement weather, with just the B-Mains and $1,500 to win A-Main remaining from the May 1 date.  Following the AMS make-up feature, the track would then present a non-AMS sanctioned, but UMP sanctioned points program that would pay $800 to win and $100 to start that same Sunday evening on July 18.

American Modified Series Rained Out 8 Laps into A-Main at Fayette Co.; Concludes June 4 

Glasgow, KY-May 4, 2010- American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner officials and track promoter Charlie Depew thought they would be able to get the tour’s A-Main in the books before the rains came on April 30, but Mother Nature had other plans and began to put down precipitation after 8 green flag racing laps had been scored in the A-Main, thus halting the event for the evening. 

However, series and track officials came to the agreement of finishing the remaining 22 laps of this event when the series returns for another visit on Friday June 4.  Thus, UMP Modified competitors that had already qualified for and was competing in the A-Main that was on the track when the rains came on April 30 will have that event, plus an entire new evening of American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner action that had already been originally scheduled for June 4.

The A-Main purse for the Friday April 30 make-up Fayette County Speedway event that will be finished on Friday June 4, along with the scheduled June 4 program will be as follows: 1^st- $1,500, 2^nd- $1,000, 3^rd- $800, 4^th- $700, 5^th- $600, 6^th- $575, 7^th- $550, 8^th- $525, 9^th- $500, 10^th- $400, 11^th- $350, 12^th- $300, 13^th- $275, 14^th- $250, 15^th through 24^th- $200 to start.

American Modified Series Competes at Fayette County April 30 and Vermillion County May 1 

Glasgow, KY-April 22, 2010- After a week hiatus, the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will return to action with its first official doubleheader weekend of the 2010 racing season on Friday April 30 at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL and on Saturday May 1 at Pierce’s Vermillion County Speedway in Danville, IL.  Both events will feature a 30 lap A-Main and will pay the AMS feature winner $1,500 and pay $200 to start.         

Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL will be the site of the first event of the weekend doubledip on Friday evening April 30.  Events at Fayette County Speedway on Friday April 30 will include practice, one lap of SPEC Race Engines group time trials, Wehr’s Machine and Racing Products, PPM Racing Products, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Wiles Driveshafts, Hypercoil Springs, and Willy’s Carbs qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap/$1,500 to win, $200 to start A-Main.   Also in action at Fayette County Speedway on April 30 will be Street Stocks, Hornets, and Team Cars.

Pierce’s Vermillion County Speedway in Danville, IL will be the site of stop two of the weekend’s racing entertainment.  Events at Pierce’s Vermillion County Speedway on Saturday May 1 will include practice, one lap of SPEC Race Engines group time trials, Wehr’s Machine and Racing Products, PPM Racing Products, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Wiles Driveshafts, Hypercoil Springs, and Willy’s Carbs qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap/$1,500 to win, $200 to start A-Main.   Also in action at Pierce’s Vermillion County Speedway on May 1 will be Pro Late Models, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets.

Activities for the April 30 Fayette County Speedway date will see the pit area open at 5:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m.  The driver’s meeting will be at 6:45 p.m., with practice immediately after the drivers meeting, followed by group qualifying time trials, with racing at 7:30 p.m.  All times are CDT.  Ticket prices for this event will be $10 for adults, children ages 8 to 12 $5, and children under age 7 are free, and $30 in the pit area, with children ages 12 and under in the pit area for only $10.  Of special note, for race teams taking their children into the pit area, the child waiver/consent form must have the signature of both parents for the child to be allowed in the pit area. 

Activities for the May 1 Pierce’s Vermillion County Speedway date will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 4:00 p.m.  The driver’s meeting will be at 5:45 p.m., with practice set for 6:00 p.m. Group qualifying time trials will begin at 6:30 p.m., with racing immediately following time trials.  All times are CDT.  Ticket prices for this event will be $15 for adults, children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, with children ages 5 and under free, and $30 for pit pass access to the pit area, with children ages 12 and under in the pit area for only $15.

Michael Long Masters American Modified Series A-Main at Tri-City Speedway 

Pontoon Beach, IL-April 16, 2010- The American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner returned to action on Friday evening at the Kevin and Tammy Gundaker promoted Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL and Michael Long of Quincy, IL would grab the race lead late in the event after a caution and double-file restart to score the A-Main victory and pick up a $1,500 payday.      

Trailing Long at the drop of the checkered flag on the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner A-Main event would be Ed Shamhart of Quincy, IL in second position, with Shelby Miles of Bloomington, IN taking third place honors.  Marty Smith, Jr. of Troy, IL was take the fourth spot and earn All Star Performance Hard Charger honors for the race after starting from the 20^th position, while Donovan Lodge of Moline, IL would complete the top five.

The remainder of the top ten finishers in the Tri-City Speedway event would be Tommy Seets, Jr., John Demoss, B-Main #1 winner Matt Goulden, former UMP Modified national champion Jeff Leka, and Everett Bradham. 

Michael Long and Mike Harrison would bring the 25-car starting field to the green flag, with Mike Harrison taking the initial race lead.  A pair of early race cautions would keep the field close and after a restart on lap 5, Harrison and Long would settle into a battle for the race lead that would only be slowed by a couple more caution periods.  Business would pick up though as the double-file restart with 21 laps completed would see Long grab the top spot away from Harrison, who would drift high and allow Donovan Lodge and Ed Shamhart to pull around Harrison as well, with Harrison’s night ending just a couple of trips later after an accident on the frontchute.  One final caution would wave with four laps remaing as Ray Walsh would end up the worse for wear from an incident on the backchute.  The final couple of circuits would see Long and Shamhart trade slidejob passes for the lead, with Long firing the final slider for what would be the winning pass and victory in the 30 lap, $1,500 to win event.

In preliminary action, Kelly Warren would lay claim to the SPEC Race Engines top qualifier award with a lap of 16.558 seconds, while Michael Long would win Wehr’s Machine and Racing Products heat one, Ed Shamhart would win PPM Racing Products heat two, Mike Harrison would win Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil heat three, and Rusty Griffaw would win Wiles Driveshafts heat four.  The B-Mains would be captured by Matt Goulden and Chad Kinder, while Bobby Regot III was the track provisional.

The next events for the American Modified Series presented by Force Fuel and Engine Conditioner will take place on Friday April 30 at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, IL and on Saturday May 1 at Pierce’s Vermillion County Speedway in Danville, IL.  Both races will be $1,500 to win, $200 to start A-Main events.
