Wheatland, MO (September 22nd, 2010) - The Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series Presented by K & N Filters invades the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri this Saturday, September 25th as the top Winged Sprint Car Drivers in the country go wheel to wheel at the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks". This National Tour event paying $6,000 to the winner will be a Nationally Televised event, also featuring the Open Wheel Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds and the SportMods Presented by Nemo Quarry. Wheatland, MO (September 7th, 2010) - On a very pleasant, Labor Day Weekend in Wheatland, Missouri, Jesse Stovall, Tim Setzer, and, Sundance Keepper all found their way to the Lucas Oil Speedway Victory Lane in the TNT Quick Shop Late Models, Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds, and Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks respectively while Tommy Cordray, Stovall, and Randy Gilmore wrapped up their 2010 Lucas Oil Speedway Class Championships.

In the TNT Quick Shop ULMA Late Model Main Event, Jesse Stovall out of Galena, Missouri took a break from his usual A-Modified to take the win from the pole position in his all black #00 GRT by Frye Late Model. Stovall plans to challenge for the 2011 Lucas Oil Speedway Late Model Track Championship after capturing the title this season in the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds. Frankford, Missouri's Vance Wilson challenged Stovall throughout the race but came up just short at the finish. Walnut Grove, Missouri's Jeremy Kelley was third at the stripe with 2-Time Late Model Track Champion Tommy Cordray out of Browning, Missouri finishing in the fourth position. Fulton, Missouri's Trace Westling drove his GM Crate powered machine to a fifth place finish after starting the race in the sixth spot. For Cordray, the Late Model Championship was his second consecutive Lucas Oil Speedway Late Model Championship.

Tim Setzer returned to action in the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds and took top honors over Fordland, Missouri's Jason Meadors who led the majority of the 20 lap main event. Setzer was forced to sit out for several weeks as he worked on a new powerplant for his #51 machine. West Plains, Missouri's Jason Hughes started third and finished in third while Urbana, Missouri's Lyle Dietrich started in eighth and charged to fourth at the finish. Walnut Grove, Missouri's Jeremy Kelley pulled double duty running both the Late Model and the Modified crossing the AAA finish line in the fifth position at the finish. With the Track Championship wrapped up last weekend, Jesse Stovall opted to move up to the late model class on the last night of the season and will be a force to be reckoned with in 2011.

Sundance Keepper also returned to action after a short layoff to top the field in the Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks. Keepper started inside row #3 as he worked his way to the front and drove away from the field at the finish. Springfield, Missouri's Ben Solberg led the field to the green flag from the pole position but was unable to hold off Keepper at the finish as he settled for second. Clever, Missouri's Steve Morton had a stellar night to score third while Warrensburg, Missouri's Mark Carter drove his white and red #10 to fourth. Nixa's Bradley Gideon improved one spot from start to finish to round out the Top-5. An elated Randy Gilmore out of Wheatland, Missouri celebrated his first ever class championship as he stayed clear of trouble throughout the main event to lock up the title over Neosho's Chris Hawkins.

"The SportMods or commonly referred to as B-Mods are a great open wheel class with a lot of local drivers, we wanted to give them a chance to try their hand at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks especially as we consider class and scheduling options for 2011. Season Championships on the Line this Saturday, September 4th!




Wheatland, MO (September 1st, 2010) - The Rockstar Energy Drink Weekly Season Championships wrap up this Saturday night, September 4th at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. Only one of the top spots remains up for grabs as Randy Gilmore and Chris Hawkins battle it out to end in the Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks. Gilmore holds a 43 point lead over Hawkins heading into the final night of racing action with Hawkins still able to mathematically catch Gilmore. Browning, Missouri's Tommy Cordray has locked up the TNT Quick Shop Late Model Track Championship for the second year in a row while Galena, Missouri's Jesse Stovall has secured the title in the Pitt's Homes A-Modifeds with his 9 feature wins on the season.

Cordray has been the model of consistency all season as he wrapped up the season title in the TNT Quick Shop Late Models one week ago. Wheatland, Missouri's Andy Kennedy has had an excellent season and has secured the second spot in the Season Championship standings. Vance Wilson out of Frankford, Missouri sits in the third spot, just 12 points ahead of Walnut Grove, Missouri's Jeremy Kelley as an intense battle is expected this Saturday between the veteran and the upstart as they both vie for the third spot in the final standings. Wheatland's Harlen Kennedy has fought through recent mechanical troubles to stay in fifth but R.D. Peterson is just 4 points behind Kennedy in the sixth spot.

With Stovall dominating the 2010 Pitt's Homes Modified Season, the battle has been for second on back as Macks Creek, Missouri's Shawn Nations drove a borrowed car last Saturday night to get the win as Nations now sits in the second spot just one point ahead of Wheatland veteran Jason Pursley as Pursley has charged up the leaderboard in the second half of the season. Nevada's Jon Sheets sits in the fourth spot, only 14 markers behind Pursley while Urbana, Missouri's Terry Kirk holds down the fifth spot as he leads sixth by more than 100 points.

The tightest battle this season is in the Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks as local favorite Randy Gilmore out of Wheatland holds a 43 point lead over Neosho's Chris Hawkins. Gilmore has consistently been in the Top-5 week in and week out all season to lead the points going into the last night despite not winning a race in 2010. His best finish has been second. Hawkins does have a win to his credit and has also consistently run in the top-5 this season. Highlandville, Missouri veteran Keith Webster occupies the third spot 83 points behind Gilmore leaving Gilmore and Hawkins to battle it out for the track championship. Webster has Wheatland's Chip Shaddox breathing down his neck however as he leads Shaddox by just 14 points heading into the final night. Frotenec, Kansas' Mike Bitner has driven his Ford Mustang to the fifth spot with a comfortable gap over Warsaw, Missouri's Tim McMurtry in the sixth position.

Wheatland, MO (August 28th, 2010) - The Lucas Oil MLRA invaded Lucas Oil Speedway for the final time in 2010 on Saturday night as Oxford, Iowa's Dave Eckrich held off a hard charging Brandon McCormick out of Lebanon, Missouri to score his first ever MLRA win. Shawn Nations returned to the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" after a short layoff to score the Pitt's Homes A-Modified win over Galena, Missouri's Jesse Stovall, as Nations drove the #19 car normally campaigned by Kelby Taylor. Warrensburg, Missouri's Mark Carter made his second appearance of the season at Lucas Oil Speedway a good one as he drove his #10 to his first career Lucas Oil Speedway Win.

Oxford, Iowa's Dave Eckrich scored his first ever Lucas Oil MLRA win on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway as he fought off a hard charging Brandon McCormick for the win by less than a car length at the finish. Tucson, Arizona modified ace R.C. Whitwell made an impressive showing with the Late Models to take third at the finish. Quincy, Illinois' Mark Burgtorf came across the AAA Finish line in fourth while 15th starting Billy Moyer Jr. advanced 10 positions to finish in the fifth spot. Giltner, Nebraska veteran Al Humphrey was sixth at the finish followed by Republic, Missouri's Brad Looney in seventh. Alan Vaughn rallied to finish in eighth with Mendon, Illinois' Denny Woodworth taking the ninth spot. Walnut Grove, Missouri's Jeremy Kelley drove his all-steel ULMA powered GRT to tenth.

6-Time Champion Al Purkey made contact with an infield tractor tire while leading at the halfway point damaging the front suspension on his Larry Shaw Race Car ultimately finishing in the 22nd spot. Brad Looney held on for a 7th place finish despite running the last 15 laps with a quickly deflating left front tire. The caution free 40 lap main event was worth $3,000 to win.

Thirty-Six Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds were on hand on Saturday but in the end, it was Macks Creek, Missouri's Shawn Nations working his way from his outside second row starting spot to score the win over a charging Jesse Stovall out of Galena, Missouri. Stovall increased his point lead to 130 points securing the 2010 Lucas Oil Speedway Season Championship for the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds. Nations has jumped back up to the second spot leading Wheatland's Jason Pursley by just one point going into the season finale next Saturday night, September 4th. Appleton City, Missouri's Johnny Fennewald drove his GRT to the third spot at the finish after starting back in the tenth spot. Lebanon, Missouri's Jamie Ragland was fourth as he crossed the stripe just ahead of Mickey Burrell from Fair Grove, Missouri. Burrell blasted through the field from his 18th starting spot to take home the final spot in the top-5.

Warrensburg, Missouri's Mark Carter started outside the front row and held off all challengers to score his first career win in the Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks. Another new face late in the season, Tim Jones out of Rich Hill, Missouri worked his way from sixth to follow Carter across the finish line. Springfield, Missouri's Ben Solberg started ninth working his way to the front only to have a spin force him to the rear of the field. Solberg rebounded to rocket all the way back up to third in the final rundown. Highlandville, Missouri's Keith Webster was fourth with Urich, Missouri's Troy Reasoner Jr. in fifth. Point leaders Randy Gilmore and Chris Hawkins battled throughout the main event as Gilmore finished one spot ahead of Hawkins heading into the final night of points racing action next weekend. Gilmore increased his lead to 43 points over Hawkins who can still mathematically overtake Gilmore on Saturday night as it is possible to earn 55 points per night under the Lucas Oil Speedway points system.

Wheatland, MO (August 24th, 2010) - This Saturday, August 28th, the high powered Open Latemodels of the Lucas Oil MLRA make their fourth and final appearance of 2010 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds and Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks will also be on the racing card for a huge night of non-stop racing action at the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks". In addition to the on track racing excitement, the Frogs Signs Junior Fan Club will be hosting a hulu hoop contest and bike giveaway for the younger race fans in the crowd.

Coffeyville, Kansas' Al Purkey has taken over the Lucas Oil MLRA points lead from Brad Looney, after the Republic, Missouri driver suffered mechanical woes at Junction Motor Speedway just two weeks ago. Oxford, Iowa's Dave Eckrich has slid into the second spot only 36 markers behind 6-time MLRA Champion Purkey with Looney now occupying the third spot, only four points behind Eckrich. Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Joe Kosiski out of Omaha, Nebraska holds down the fourth spot in the battle for the coveted Lucas Oil MLRA Championship while former Series Champion Terry Phillips sits in the fifth spot.

Last week's Missouri State Fair Championship winner Kelly Boen out of Henderson, Colorado resides in the sixth spot with 2008 Lucas Oil MLRA Champion John Anderson in seventh. Springfield, Missouri's Jeremy Payne out of the Team Custard camp is eighth at this point in the 2010 season. Cross Timbers, Missouri's Evan Hubert continues to lead the Rookie of the Year Standings in ninth while Massena, Iowa's Chris Speiker holds down the final spot in the Top-10. Jesse Stovall out of Galena, Missouri continues to lead the season long points battle in the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds but Wheatland's Jason Pursley by virtue of his first ever win at Lucas Oil Speedway just one week ago has cut the gap to 104 points with only two races remaining in the chase for the Rockstar Energy Drink Weekly Championship. With 110 points possible over those two events, Stovall has not locked up the Championship as of yet and will try his hand again this Saturday night. Macks Creek, Missouri's Shawn Nations looks up at the leaders from his third spot in points with Nevada's Jon Sheets in fourth and veteran Terry Kirk in fifth.

The Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stock points battle is a nail biter as Wheatland's Randy Gilmore holds a narrow 38 point lead over Neosho's Chris Hawkins with only two races remaining. Highlandville, Missouri's Keith Webster is in the third spot but only leads Wheatland's Chip Shaddox by three points heading into this weekend's action. Wheatland, MO (August 21st, 2010) - Vance Wilson scored the TNT Quick Shop ULMA Late Model Feature win while Jason Pursley topped the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds and Ben Solberg captured the Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks Trophy on a picture perfect Budweiser Fan Appreciation night at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri.

For Frankford, Missouri's Wilson, it was his second win this week in ULMA Late Model Competition, as he also scored the Missouri State Fair Championship Win this past Tuesday evening at Sedalia's State Fair Speedway. Wilson held Walnut Grove, Missouri's Jeremy Kelley off at the end as two late race cautions stacked the field putting Kelley on his bumper with only a handful of laps remaining. Kelley gave it all he had after working his way from his sixth starting spot but it was Wilson crossing the AAA Start/Finish Line first. Kelley brought his GRT across the line in second while Browning, Missouri's Tommy Cordray worked the entire racing surface as he valiantly tried to get to the front eventually capturing third at the finish. Fulton, Missouri's Trace Westling ran in the Top-3 for most of the event with his GM 604 Crate Engine powered late model but could not hold off Cordray at the finish as Westling held on for fourth. Wheatland, Missouri's Andy Kennedy took the final spot in the Top-5 as 21 ULMA Late Models were on hand.

With school back in session at Skyline, the Skyline Superintendent Jason Pursley out of Wheatland, Missouri worked the slick Lucas Oil Speedway racing surface to perfection in his Allen Autosports A-Modified as he jumped to the lead from his outside front row starting position and never looked back to score his first Pitt's Homes A-Modified win of 2010. Pursley also moved into second place in the season long points battle as Shawn Nations was sidelined with mechanical issues. Galena, Missouri's Jesse Stovall also did not compete after voluntary pre-race technical inspection deemed his engine illegal for competition at Lucas Oil Speedway. Stovall continues to hold a 122 point lead with just two points races remaining on the 2010 season. Urbana, Missouri's Terry Kirk had a strong run to take the second spot while Fair Grove's Mickey Burrell finished in third. Colson Kirk finished in fourth giving the father-son duo of Terry and Colson Kirk a pair of Top-5 finishes. Buffalo, Missouri's Tracy Wolf held on to the fifth spot in the final rundown.

Springfield, Missouri's Ben Solberg won for the second week in a row in the Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks despite constant pressure from point leader Randy Gilmore throughout the main event. Gilmore held on for second scoring his best finish of 2010 increasing his point lead over Chris Hawkins to 38 points in the process with only two races remaining in the championship chase. Billings, Missouri's James Flood scored his third consecutive podium finish after resuming his racing program several weeks ago. Wheatland, Missouri's Chip Shaddox stalked the leaders throughout the race to score fourth in the final rundown with Hermitage, Missouri's Chris Tonoli picking up a Top-5 finish in the #71.

Ray Cook Wins Instant Classic 18th Annual DART Show Me 100
 
Wheatland, Missouri (May 29th, 2010) – Ray Cook of Brasstown, North
Carolina etched his name in the DART Show Me 100 history book for the
second time, as he claimed the 18th edition of the event on Saturday night
at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri in front of a capacity crowd
in what could only be described as possibly one of the greatest races
ever.
 
Jimmy Owens and Earl Pearson Jr. brought the field to the green flag for
the 100-lap affair, which was co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model
Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing
Association (MLRA). Owens took the lead at the onset of the event with
Pearson Jr., Terry Phillips, Don O’Neal, and Dale McDowell in tow. By the
third circuit O’Neal had cracked the top three as Owens began to motor
away from the field.
 
Lap 5 found Jimmy Owens catching the tail of the field as Chad Simpson
went down a lap on the sixth circuit. Owens’ commanding run would come to
an abrupt halt exiting turn four on the tenth circuit as Brian Birkhofer
got sideways causing Chris Wall to flip in front of the leader. Owens,
with nowhere to go, was caught up in the incident and had to go to the
tail of the field. Wall would be unhurt in the incident and would rejoin
the event fourteen laps later to a standing ovation from the crowd.
 
With Owens tailback, Don O’Neal inherited the lead with Earl Pearson Jr.,
Billy Moyer, Terry Phillips, and Dale McDowell making up the top five in
the running order. On the ensuing restart O’Neal and Pearson Jr. began to
battle for the lead before the caution waved again on lap 12 as Shannon
Babb rolled to a stop with a flat tire. During the caution, Steve
Casebolt also headed pit-side, and both drivers rejoined the tail of the
field.
 
With the green flag displayed once again, the action at the front of the
pack saw O’Neal motor away from the pack with Pearson Jr. and Moyer
continuing to host a spirited battled for the second spot. Caution would
fly again on lap 21 as Dale McDowell relinquished the fifth spot with a
flat tire. He too would head pit-side for fresh rubber before rejoining
the field.
 
At the time of the caution the top five running order consisted of Don
O’Neal, Earl Pearson Jr., Billy Moyer, Ray Cook, and Terry Phillips. As
the race resumed Billy Moyer moved past Earl Pearson Jr. for the second
spot as the duo began to swap positions lap after lap.
 
Lap 27 would see the yellow flag in the air again as Scott Bloomquist
relinquished the sixth spot with a flat tire. It would mark the first of
two trips to the pit area during the course of the feature for the
Mooresburg, Tennessee driver. With Bloomquist on the tail of the field
the race continued as O’Neal jumped to a comfortable lead over Pearson
Jr., Phillips, and eleventh starting Ray Cook.
 
The race would endure a ten lap green flag run with O’Neal still at the
point as Phillips and Cook shuffled Pearson Jr. from second to fourth
exiting turn two on lap 32. Two laps later, Billy Moyer Jr. shuffled
Pearson Jr. back another spot.
 
On lap 38, the caution would wave for Chris Simpson, who rolled to a stop
on the backstretch, which erased O’Neal’s eight-car length lead. At the
time of the caution Phillips, Cook, Moyer Jr., and Earl Pearson Jr.
followed O’Neal.
 
The restart saw Moyer Jr. and Cook beginning to race side-by-side for the
third spot before Cook mounted a charge toward the front of the pack that
saw him dispose of Moyer Jr. and Phillips to race his way to second by the
race’s midway point. The next ten laps saw the race slow on various times
by the caution flag before it endured another long green flag run. Cook
stalked O’Neal through lapped traffic for several laps before slipping
passed him on the high side to take the lead as the field completed the
62nd circuit.
 
With Cook at the point, O’Neal continued to apply pressure, as 22nd
starting Steve Casebolt joined the fray in the third spot. Another driver
on the move was 29th starting, John Blankenship, who was up to the fourth
spot by lap 65. While Cook maintained the lead, O’Neal and Casebolt waged
war for the second spot with disaster nearly striking as they completed
lap 67 as the pair briefly made contact sending Casebolt into the front
stretch wall. Casebolt would recover after losing several car lengths to
O’Neal. Three laps later he would race passed O’Neal for the lead and set
his sights on race leader, Ray Cook.
 
By lap 73 Cook and Casebolt were battling side-by-side for the lead and
Casebolt, became the fourth different leader of the race. Casebolt
quickly extended his lead and would finally be slowed by a caution for
John Blankenship, who rolled to a stop with a flat on lap 82.
 
The ensuing restart saw Casebolt drive away from the field once again, and
appeared to be on his way to a comfortable win before bad luck struck on
lap 89, when he lost his driveshaft, bringing his night to a disappointing
early end. With Casebolt in the pits, Ray Cook inherited the lead and
fought off a late race challenge from Don O’Neal to claim the $30,000
payday in the 18th Annual DART Show Me 100 Presented by Lucas Oil. Don
O’Neal, Terry Phillips, Eric Wells, Dennis Erb Jr., Billy Moyer Jr., Scott
Bloomquist, Dan Schlieper, Brad Neat, and Mike Marlar rounded out the top
ten finishers.
 
Earlier in the evening Martinsville, Indiana’s Don O’Neal topped the
Manufacturer’s Dash For Cash taking the win over Brian Birkhofer and Billy
Moyer.
