L&M Performance Fall Fest/Season Championship at Moler Raceway Park!!
10-1-10- In what was the final regular race of the season at MRP there was a full pit
of cars on hand in all divisions trying to take home the extra money. In
the Sunesis Construction Late Models there were 18 cars with Barry Doss
and Chad Stapleton claiming heat race victories. In the feature event it was
Stapleton out front at the drop of the green but it was “The Sniper” Wayne Chinn
in pursuit as the CJ Rayburn chassis Erwin Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge sponsored Gary
Engle owned machine would take the lead on lap 7 and cruise on to his third
victory of the season at MRP. Following Chinn across the line was late model
rookie Jeremie Bretz coming home second with Stapleton, Dillon Huron, and John
Whitney Jr. rounding out the top five.
A very large field of Mt Orab Ford Modifieds were on hand as they were all
gunning for the $1,000 paycheck on the line as well as those valuable UMP
points. In heat races it was Doug Adkins, Devin Gilpin, Dave McWilliams, and
Jeremy Rayburn all claiming victories while Shane Mugavin and Jerry Lawson
claimed wins in the B-main events. With the field of 33 narrowed down to 20 for
the starting line-up it looked as though the fans were in for a great race. On
the first start it was Rayburn having problems with Dave McWilliams and Devin
Gilpin going three-wide through turn two and making contact with Gilpin
suffering suspension damage and ending his night. On the restart, with Rayburn
and Gilpin out and McWilliams on the tail, it was now Shaun Scott on the pole
with Doug Adkins on the outside. At the green Scott would jump out front but
Adkins would take the lead by the end of lap number one. The man on the move was
Aurora, Indiana’s Matt Hamilton as he quickly moved through the field from 8th
spot up to second position. A lap seven restart doomed Hamilton as he would have
a mechanical failure ending his night. Adkins would go on to lead the rest of
the race and claim his fourth feature win of the season at MRP in his 239 Auto
Group, Estes Race Engines, Poske Performance Parts sponsored machine. Shaun
Scott would come home second followed by Barry Doss, Ron Hyer, and McWilliams
rounding out the top five.
In the Holman Motors Chevettes it would come down to the final race to determine
the track champion as Miles Tarvin and Jeff Watson would fight to the end. At
the end of the night it was Tarvin winning the battle as he won his seventh
feature of the season but Watson would win the war as he would place 3rd in the
feature to narrowly win the track championship. On the night it was Tarvin taking the
lead from Scott Ramp on lap 8 and go on to win the feature. Ronnie Choate Jr,
Rusty Yarger, and Ramp were heat race winners. Derek Davis won the B Main.
Following Tarvin across the line was Ramp, Watson, Yarger, and Sean Jones.
In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it was a full field of cars as there was
enough cars for a B-main for the first time this season. In heat race action
things got exciting as Jeremie Bretz and Mark Kaetzel made contact coming for
the checkered flag in their heat race with Bretz taking the win. Laurelville,
Ohio’s Jamey Adams and Jeremie Scott were also victorious in heat race action
while Bill Crabtree was winner of the B-main. In the feature it was Bretz out
front from the start with Jamey Adams in pursuit. Adams would take the lead on
lap fifteen but Bretz would retake the lead on lap 18. Adams would get into the
outside wall on the final lap heading into turn three doing major damage to his
car causing a one lap shoot-out between Bretz and Jeremie Scott. Bretz would
claim his eleventh street stock feature win of the season with Scott, Wayne Hughes,
Bruce Gray Jr, and Richard Trego rounding out the top five.
Congratulations to our 2010 Track Champions: Sunesis Construction Late Models Track Champion Barry Doss!! Holman Motors Chevette Track Champion Jeff Watson!! U.S. Race Gear’s Street Stock Champion Jeremie Bretz!! Mt. Orab Ford UMP Modified Champion as well as National UMP Champion, Devin Gilpen!! Thanks everyone for a Wonderful 2010. Hopefully we’ll see you at our Turkey Gobbler on November 20th, details to follow at www.molerracewaypark.com.
American Modified Series at MRP!!
9-17-10, Williamsburg, OH - The American Modified Series was in town for a 30-lap special event paying $1,500 to the winner and $200 just to start the A-main event. There were 39 cars on hand trying to tap into the cash. First order of business was qualification and after that it was Trent Young of Hopkinsville, Ky taking the $100 bonus for quick time. In heat race action it was Devin Gilpin taking the victory in heat race #1 with Bryan Barber winning the second heat race. In heat race number three it was Bloomington, Indiana’s Clint Demoss taking the win while Glasgow, Ky’s Michael England was victorious in the fourth and final heat race. To finish setting the field there were two B-main events with Cory Skipton and Randy King taking the checkers in each.
For the feature event it was Devin Gilpin and Clint Demoss bringing the field to the green flag with Demoss jumping to the lead for the first lap before England and Trent Young took over the top two spots. Once the field got going it looked as if Gilpin was going to be the man to beat as he jumped to the top of the race track and starting picking off first Demoss and then Young. On lap ten Gilpin got to the outside of England for the lead but coming off of turn four while passing some lap cars Gilpin got into
the outside wall and flipped his machine over landing on the roof. While there were
no injuries he was done racing for the night. Following the restart it looked as
though England and Clint Demoss were going to battle it out for the win but by
lap fifteen it was series point leader John Demoss charging to the front from
his eighth starting position. Despite a couple of restarts and Trent Young
taking a run for the top spot John Demoss was able to hold on and claim his
second AMS feature victory of the season in his Hoosier Drywall Specialist,
Erwin Cooper Racing Foundation, Bob Pierce Racecar powered by a Mullins Race
Engine. Young would hold on for second followed by Clint Demoss, Matt Hamilton
(started 20th) and Everett Bradham.
In the Sunesis Construction Late Models it was another nice field of cars as
three heat races and a B-main event were needed to set the starting line-ups. In
the preliminaries it was Chad Stapleton, Jason Jameson, and Duane Chamberlain
taking heat race wins with Dave Kirker taking the B-main checkers. In the
feature it was Stapleton out front with Jameson in hot pursuit. By lap 7 Jameson
was able to make the pass for the top spot but it was Chamberlain who was on the
move. By lap 18 Chamberlain had dispensed of Stapleton and was chasing Jameson
through traffic. With three laps to go Jameson got caught in some much slower
lapped traffic and contact was made with Chamberlain sending the #12 car
spinning around. Since Jamison came to a stop on the race track and the incident
was not ruled as intentional the race was restarted with Chamberlain the new
leader. Chamberlain was able to hold off Doss and take his first victory at MRP
this season and his first anywhere since taking over the Patrick Sheltra
Motorsports ride. Doss came home second with Dillon Huron, Chad Stapleton, and Brian
Gray Rounding out the top five positions.
US Race Gear Street Stocks were up next and it was once again the Jeremie Bretz
show as he led the final six laps to take yet another win in his Doug’s Glazing,
H&H Continuous Guttering, Git-R-Done Graphics machine. Jeremie Scott came home
second followed by Mark Kaetzel Bruce Gray Jr, and Ed Reynolds. Bretz and Gray
were heat race winners.
In the Holman Motors Chevette Division it was much the same as Sean Jones
continued to dominate the class as he took his division leading seventh feature
win of the season (most all of them in the second half of the season). Points
leader Jeff Watson came home second with Miles Tarvin, Rusty Yarger, And Terry
Lewis rounding out the top five positions. Jones and Watson were victorious in
the heat race action. Next week at MRP is the L&M Performance Season Championship with the points battle up for grabs it’ll be an exciting night for lots of drivers. October 1st will be MRP’s Fourth Annual Fall Fest with Late Models paying $1500 to Win, Modifieds $1000 to Win and Chevettes and Street Stocks paying $500 to win!! November 20th will be the 2nd Annual Coca-Cola Turkey Gobbler 40 with Late Models paying $1500 to Win!!
Exciting Night of Racing Action at MRP

Pics by Steve Alcorn
9-10-10-Williamsburg, OH - It was another exciting night of racing at Moler
Raceway Park as the Holman Motors Chevette division had a special event paying
$1,000 to the winner. In preliminary action it was the top four point cars going
head to head for a five lap shootout with Williamsburg, Ohio’s Jeff Watson
taking the win and earning the pole position in the feature event. In heat race
action it was Tennessee’s Ronnie Choate Jr. taking the first heat with Ripley,
Ohio’s Trevor Moffett taking the win in heat number two. In the 40 lap main
event it was Watson and Miles Tarvin on the front row, but at the drop of the
green flag it was Sean Jones jumping to the top spot from his third starting
position. While Jones was out front it was Choate Jr. running second with Tarvin
and Watson in tow. By lap 17 Tarvin was up to second and pressuring Jones for
the top position. On lap 21 there was contact between Tarvin and Jones bringing
out a caution with Tarvin being sent to the tail for the restart. On the restart
Jones was all by himself out front with Watson now up to second spot. At the end
of 40 laps it was Sean Jones taking the $1,000 and the crystal trophy courtesy
of Greg Holman and the entire Holman Motor staff. Watson would hold on for
second spot followed by Choate, Rusty Yarger, and Scott Ramp.
In the Mt Orab Ford Modified Division there were 25 cars on hand. In heat race
action it was Peebles,Ohio resident Dave Jamison winning heat race number one
with Indiana’s Devin Gilpin, and Hamersville, Ohio resident Randy Wash taking
heat victories as well. In the B-main event it was Cory Skipton taking the
checkered flag and setting the field for the feature event. In the main event it
took three restarts to get the field strung out without a complete restart.
While Gilpin had gotten the jump on the first two it was Jamison out front on
start number three and Dave McWilliams up to second. Gilpin would have none of
it has he quickly made his way to the top spot by lap three. With Cory Skipton
spinning on lap 8 it forced a caution and on the restart it was McWilliams
taking the top spot with Gilpin back to second. McWilliams led the next two laps
before Gilpin was able to drive past on the outside and retake the lead before
setting sail for his tenth feature win on the season at MRP in his Mike Shell
Racing Engines, Dasco Race Supply, Impressive Race Car. McWilliams came home
second with Wash, Jamison, and Rick Curtin rounding out the top five spots.
With a few weeks left for points Devin Gilpin is not only Moler Raceway Park’s
current point winner but point leader in the Nation!!
In the Sunesis Construction Late Model division there was a 19 car field on hand
and it was Maysville, Kentucky’s Dillon Huron and Jeremie Bretz each taking heat
race wins. In the feature event it was John Whitney taking the lead on lap one
from his third starting spot but it was evident that Jason Jameson was going to
be the man to beat. Jameson took the lead on lap five and was running away from
the field when on lap nine contact was made with the lapped car of Tim Carpenter
that sent Jamison spinning around. On the restart with Jameson on the tail, it
was Whitney back out front but Barry Doss quickly took the lead away. As laps
wore down a caution on lap 17 reset the field for an old fashion 8 lap shootout.
The final five laps sent Doss, Whitney, Tyler Carpenter, and Jason Jamison
battling side by side for the top spot. On the final lap it was Jameson getting
past Doss to retake the lead and the 25 lap feature event. Doss came home second
with Carpenter (started 18th), Whitney, and Mike Meyers rounding out the top
five.
In the final division of the night it was a 19 car field on hand in the US Race
Gear Street Stock division. In heat race action it was Mark Kaetzel and Jamie
Adams taking the wins. In the feature event it was all Adams as the Helterbran
Trucking, Thomas Gas, RA Smith Photos car was hooked up as the Laurelville, Ohio
driver took home his fifth feature win on the season. Kaetzel came home second
followed by Bub Balsley, Jeremie Bretz and Bruce Gray Jr. With the season
coming to an end you only have a few more chances to make it out to MRP. 9-17
the American Modified Series will visit MRP for a $1500 to Win show and a Very

Labor Day at Moler Raceway
Park has new faces in victory lane!!
9-3-10, Williamsburg, OH - Labor Day weekend kicked off at MRP with 99 cars on
hand and finished with a couple of new winners in victory lane. In the Sunesis
Construction Late Model division there were 24 cars on hand with Heltonville,
Indiana’s Tim Prince in his Prince Excavating, Andi’s Logging, Brad’s Brass
machine taking his first ever feature win at MR!. At the start of the feature it
was Prince out front and no one could touch him. But there was a furious battle
behind him as Rick Combs, Robby Hensley, Barry Doss, and Duane Chamberlain
battled two and sometimes three wide for the second position. At the end of the
race it was Prince out front with Hensley, Combs, Doss, and Chamberlain
completing the top five positions. In heat race action it was Prince, Dillon
Huron, and Hensley taking the wins with Ricky Slayback taking the B-main event
win.
Next on the race track was the Holman Motors Chevette division. Following heat
race victories by Josh Francis, Sean Jones, and Jeff Watson it was Jeremy Smith
taking the win in the B-main race. In the feature it was Jones out front but
Francis had problems and dropped out on the second lap which then left Watson in
second but Miles Tarvin was on the move and passed Watson for second and there
was no catching Jones as he took his fifth feature win of the season in his
Helsar’s Country Corner, Rv’s-R-US, Suzy Q’s, Antique Bar sponsored machine.
Tarvin would come home second followed by Watson, Scott Ramp, and Trevor
Moffett.
Next onto the race track was the first ever visit by the Legends cars as the
group who predominately runs at Brushcreek Motorsports Park made their way to
Moler for the first time. At the end of their fifteen lap feature event it was
Tom Partin in victory lane. Matt Nichols would come home second followed by
Kevin Schoonover, Jacob Miller, and Gary Rowland. Schoonover was victorious in
the heat race.
With another strong field of Mt Orab Ford Modifieds on hand (29 cars) the
question was who could stop Devin Gilpin. With 8 feature wins before the night
Gilpin was hoping to add to his track and UMP point standings. At the drop of
the green flag Gilpin took the lead but it was quickly evident that the veteran
Daryl Herbert may have something for Gilpin. Following a number of restarts for
minor spins there was finally a long stretch of green flag racing in which
Gilpin was able to take his Mike Shell Racing Engines, Eddie Gilstrap Motors,
Dasco Race Supply, Terry Eaglin Motorsports machine to victory lane for the
ninth win of the season. Herbert had problems on the last lap and coasted across
the line in second position followed by Rick Curtain, Barry Doss, and Andy
Bowman. Gilpin, Dustin Webber, and Doug Popp were heat race winners. Kyle
Mitchell took the B-main win.
The final event of the night would find a third new face in victory lane as
Hooven, Ohio’s Bub Balsley would make his first visit to MRP successful as he
would battle Bruce Gray Jr throughout the 15 lap race before taking the win.
Gray held on for second followed by Brandon Mather, Paul Baker, and Mark Kaetzel
Jr. Gray and Balsley were winners of the heat race action. September 10 will

8-27-10-Williamsburg, OH- It was fan appreciation night at MRP with an autograph

Lawson taking the win in the B-main event. In the feature event it was Doug
Adkins in his fan appreciation themed cartoon car taking the lead and control of
the feature for the first 11 laps before heavy smoke and sparks started coming
out from behind the vehicle ending his evening. Following that it was all Dave
McWilliams in his Bad Fast Chassis by L & M Performance. As they come across the
line it was chaos behind the leader as Randy Wash and Weasel Rhodes getting
together in turn four as they come to the checkered flag. Rick Curtain edged

victory over the sixteen car field. Adams came home second followed by Wayne
Hughes, Bruce Gray Jr., and Brandon Mather finishing in the top five positions.
Adams and Hughes were credited with heat race wins.

4th Annual Ike
Moler Memorial Race at Moler Raceway Park!!
8-20-10-Williamsburg, OH- The offering of a $5000 check and the famed Southern
Trophy was enough incentive to attract 32 top cars to Moler Raceway Park for the
fourth running of the racetracks premiere event. The night started with 1 lap of
qualifications and it was the “Salt Rock Express”, Eddie Carrier Jr taking the
top spot with a 12.673 lap around the ¼ mile speedway. In the fast car dash it
was Bradford, Ohio’s Wayne Chinn and Cross Lanes, West Virginia’s Zach Dohm
battling the for the top spot with Chinn taking the checkered flag and the
Sunesis Construction $100 bonus and more importantly the pole position for the
50 lap feature event. In the heat races it was Greg Johnson, Scott James, and
Greg Oliver taking the wins with Jason Jamison and Larry Pickelheimer Jr. taking
the victory in each of the two B-main events. With a 22 car starting line-up
staged it was Chinn and Dohm out front as the race went green. At the halfway
mark the front two cars were the same but it was Bedford, Indiana’s Greg Johnson
on the move as he was up to third spot with Eddie Carrier, Jr. and RJ Conley
rounding out the top five. Chinn maintained the lead but with ten laps to go
Johnson in his Lineal Contracting, Universal Holdings, Kendall Truck & Parts
machine taking over the top position and setting sail for the win for car owner

win and $600. In preliminary action it was Pete Holt, Dave McWilliams, and Devin
Gilpin taking heat race victories with Ryan Morton claiming the B-main event. In
the feature it was McWilliams in his L&M Performance Bad Fast Chassis out front
with Holt chasing him. On lap seven, McWilliams had problems and got into the
outside wall in turn two and as he came across the race track Holt had no place
to go and hit McWilliams hard eliminating both cars from the event. On the
restart it was Columbus, Indiana’s Devin Gilpin out front with last week’s
feature winner Randy Wash in close pursuit. Despite numerous cautions and
restarts Gilpin was able to hold on for his 8th feature win of the season at
Moler Raceway Park and holding onto his National UMP Points lead. Wash was a
close second followed by Shane Mugavin, Ryan Morton (started 16th), and Murrell
Nafe. Racers and fans were treated with several give-aways including Mt. Orab
Ford giving out $750 worth of chances to win a Ford F150 Pickup through a
benefit drawing with the March of Dimes.
The Holman Motors Chevette division rounded out the memorial event and each
driver in action was guaranteed a $25 gas card courtesy of Holman Motors and the
fans were treated to another great finish in the feature event as Sean Jones
claimed his fourth victory of the season but it wasn’t easy as Miles Tarvin was
all over him the entire race. On the last lap the was a bunch of beating and
banging amongst the top six cars but Jones held on for the win. Jeff Watson

the top five positions. In heat race action it was Tarvin and Jones claiming

Hot Night of Racing Action at MRP!!
8-13-10-Williamsburg, OH -- In what was a very hot week turned into some very
hot racing action on sat Moler Raceway Park. In the Sunesis Construction Late
Model division there was a strong field of twenty cars on hand to try and tame
the ¼ mile speed plant and for awhile it looked as though there would be a
newcomer in victory lane as Edinburgh, Indiana’s Chad Stapleton would lead from
the start and control most of the feature event but Sardinia, Ohio’s Barry Doss
would make the low line work and take the lead away with 3 laps remaining in the
feature event to steal the win in his Holman Motors, D&G Trucking, Doss
Contracting, Gabbard Ford, and Howser’s Discount and Garage Sponsored machine.
Stapleton would come home second with John Sizemore, Larry Pickelheimer Jr, and
Chad Oberson rounding out the top five spots. Mike Myers and Stapleton were heat
race winners.
In the US Race Gear $600 Street Stock Special it was all Jamey Adams as the
Laurelville, Ohio driver would lead the entire race and claim his third feature
win of the season in his Thomas Gas, Helterbran Trucking, Precision Grinding
sponsored machine. Mark Kaetzel would claim second spot followed by Jeremie
Bretz, Dave Kirker, and Bruce Gray Jr, Kaetze and Adams were heat race winners.
In the Mt Orab Ford Modified Division it was cheers all around as Hamersville,
Ohio’s Randy Wash would take his first ever victory at MRP in a hotly contested
modified feature. At the beginning of the race it was last week’s feature winner
Dave McWilliams leading the first lap Wash would pass him on lap two and fight
off McWilliams’ advances through lap five when current track point leader and
UMP National point leader Devin Gilpin would try to take the top spot away from
Wash. Gilpin dropped out under caution and it was Late Model feature winner
Barry Doss’s turn to take shots at Wash but to no avail as the Seips Carquest
Auto Parts, Backstreet Deli, L&M Performance sponsored machine would take the
sweet visit to victory lane. Doss would take second spot followed by Jimmy
Lennex Jr, Derrick Davis, and Jim O’Toole. Wash passed McWilliams with two laps
to go to claim the win in heat race #1 while Barry Doss won heat #2.
In the AMSA Mini-Sprints it was Bainbridge, Ohio’s Ryan Broughton claiming his
second feature win in a row at MRP. Beau Stewart claimed second position
followed by Rod Henning, Jeff Barnhart, and Kevin Roberts Sr.
In the Holman Motor Chevette division it was a great race up front as Sean
Jones, Rusty Yarger, and Josh Francis battled throughout the fifteen lap event
often with the lead changing hands every lap. At the end though it was Jones
claiming his third feature win of the season in his Hesler’s Country Corner,
Rv’s R Us, Odessy Canvas Works, Mootz Construction sponsored machine. In a wild
last lap scramble as Rusty Yarger seemed to loose power it was Jeff Watson
claiming second spot over Josh Francis, tail starting Miles Tarvin, and Scott
Ramp. Francis and Jones claimed heat race wins.
Coming Friday August 20th, the Biggest Event of the Year at MRP, the Victor “Ike” Moler Memorial with $5000 to Win for the Late Model Class!! Ike Moler is Grandfather to Kevin Moler and built and operated Mt. Orab Speedway back in the 50’s. The Moler Family dream was to open a race track in his honor and Jerry Moler, having helped his Dad build a race track and after years of building and racing cars Jerry has now built his second race track, something no one else has done before him. So the Memorial in honor of “Ike” Moler is a tribute to the whole Moler Family who have been so active in the sport throughout five generations now. NASRA Late Models
Make Annual Appearance at MRP!!
8-6-10 Williamsburg, OH - CJ Rayburn’s National All Star Racing Association
series made their second appearance at Moler Raceway Park on Friday with 32 cars
on hand vying for the 20 car starting lineup. In heat race action it was Skylar
Marlar, Justin Ratliff, Eric Wells, and Wayne Chinn taking heat race wins while
Mark Frazier and David Webb each took a B-main victory. At the drop of the green
flag it was Cambellsville, Ky’s Justin Ratliff out front and Winfield, Tenn.
Skylar Marlar in second. With cautions for spins on lap five and then again on
lap eight it was easy to see that the man on the move was Lawrencburg, Indiana’s
Jason Jameson who had started twelfth but by lap eight was up to sixth. On the
restart it was still Ratliff out front with “The Sniper” Wayne Chinn taking over
the second position. On lap 19 there was some slight contact between the two
leaders that allowed Jason Jameson to pass them both and take over the top spot.
From there on it was Jameson out front with Chinn in tow as they would put on a
furious battle throughout the second half of the race. With two laps to go Chinn
starting suffering a flat tire which allowed Jameson to take the 40 lap feature
win. The win was Jameon’s sixth feature win on the season at MRP but his first
ever NASRA feature win in his City of Lawrenceburg sponsored machine. Ratliff
would come home second with Victor Lee, Chinn, and Eric Wells rounding out the
top five positions.
A 29 car field of Mt Orab Ford Modifieds were on hand and it was Dave
McWilliams, Devin Gilpin, and Troy Whitaker claiming heat race wins while Ryan
Morton took the B-main event. In the feature it was Gilpin jumping to the lead
but McWilliams was right behind him. A restart on lap 17 allowed McWilliams to
jump to the outside and take the top spot away from Gilpin. Another restart with
two laps to go gave Gilpin a chance at returning the favor but despite getting
to the outside of McWilliams at the white flag it was not to be as Dave
McWilliams, driving a brand new Bad Fast chassis courtesy of L&M Performance in
Bethel, Ohio taking home the checkered flag. Gilpin would come home second with
Barry Doss, Derrick Davis, and Shane Mugavin rounding out the top five spots.
In the Holman Motor Chevettes it was another full field of cars on hand with
Rusty Yarger and Josh Francis taking the heat race wins setting the starting
lineup. In the feature it was all Rusty Yarger as he took the lead at the green
and he would lead all fifteen laps taking his first feature win of the season at
MRP. Miles Tarvin came home second with Francis, Jeff Watson, and Sean Jones
rounding out the top five spots.
In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it was Mark Kaetzel taking the heat race win
and leading the first five laps of the feature but it was Jeremie Bretz coming
on strong and taking the lead and the feature event win. It was his eighth
feature win on the season in the H&H Continuous Guttering, Git-R-Done Graphics
sponsored machine. August 13th, U.S. Race Gear Street Stock Special

Kid’s Night at MRP!! 7-30-10- Williamsburg, OH - In the Sunesis Construction Late Model division it was a field of 19 cars on hand with Richmond, Indiana’s Duane Chamberlain winning heat race number one and Jason Jamison winning heat race number two. In the feature event it was Chamberlain out front but Wayne Chinn spun out in turn one causing a complete restart. On the second start Tim Carpenter spun out causing another complete restart and Chamberlain having a serious oil leak and needing to go pitside. On the restart it was Barry Doss on the pole and Jamison on the outside. Jamison jumped to the lead but Doss was never far behind. An accident on lap eight put the race under the red flag as Jeff Alsip got up on the wall in turn two and ended up hitting the the concrete wall and flipping over. On the restart it was Jamison out front as he would continue to lead throughout as he took his fifth feature win on the season. Barry Doss came home second with Lil’ John Whitney, Mark Wolters, and Rick Combs rounding out the top five. In the Mt Orab Ford Modifieds it was Doug Adkins, Matt Hamilton, and Devin Gilpin winning heat races with Shaun Scott winning the B-Main event. In the feature it was Adkins out front at the start with Gilpin right with him. But on lap 3 Gilpin would spin in turn two causing a caution. On the restart it was Hamilton jumping to the outside of Adkins, but the man on the move was Dave McWilliams who was charging to the front from his eleventh starting position. Hamilton and then McWilliams would both challenge Adkins for the top spot but to no avail as “The Buzzard” Doug Adkins, would claim his third feature win on the season at MRP. McWilliams would settle for second followed by Hamilton, Derrick Davis, and Shane Mugavin. In the Holman Motor Chevettes it was Rusty Yarger and Josh Francis winning heat races setting the field for the fifteen lap twenty car feature event. Yarger would jump to the lead and seek his first ever feature win at MRP. On lap twelve it was Josh Francis taking over the top spot with a hard Charging Miles Tarvin in tow. At the checkers it was West Unions, Josh Francis taking his first win of the season in his Wildcat Truck and Car, State Farm Insurance, BP Warrior Graphics, Blake’s Pharmacy sponsored machine. American Mini-Sprint
Association Comes to MRP!!
7-16-10-Williamsburg, OH - It was another scorcher Friday night at Moler Raceway
Park and the racing action was just as hot as the weather. The Sunesis
Construction Late Models would kick things off with Edinburgh Indiana’s Chad
Stapleton and Bethel Ohio’s Rick Combs claiming heat race wins to set the field
for the feature.
In the A-Main Stapleton jumped to an early lead followed by Combs and defending
track champion Barry Doss. Those three would race closely with Stapleton leading
the first 13 laps and Doss and Combs applying heavy pressure while battling back
and forth for 2nd. Finally on lap 14 Doss was able to get underneath Stapleton
to take the lead for good and capture his 3rd victory of the season in his
Gabbard Ford, Howser’s Discount & Garage, Doss Contracting, D&G Trucking, Holman
Motors sponsored machine. Combs eventually had mechanical trouble and left the
track ruining an otherwise strong evening. Lil’ John Whitney would come home
3rd claiming his 6th top 5 finish of the season followed by “The Big Show” Robby
Hensley and 14 year old Ethan Burgess .
There were 22 cars in attendance in the Mt. Orab Ford Modified division and it
was Glen Este’s Shane Mugavin, Manchester’s Jeff Arnold and and UMP Modified
national points leader Devin Gilpin of Columbus Indiana taking the heat race
wins. In the A-Main it would be all Gilpin as he jumped to a large lead early
and never looked back claiming his 7th win of the year in dominating fashion in
his Dasco Race Supply, Impressive Race Cars machine. Corey Skipton of Greendale
Indiana would come home 2nd followed by Late Model veteran “The Jedi “ Jerry
Bowersock, Hamersville’s Randy Wash and Mugavin would finish out the top 5.
The AMSA Mini Sprints would take the track next as a special treat for the MRP
faithful and it was Bainbridge Ohio’s Brian Broughton who would claim the win as
he quickly stormed his way to the front from his 5th starting spot to claim the
victory, despite being caught up in lapped traffic towards the end of the race.
The AMSA returns to MRP for the final time this season August 13th in what is
sure to be another exciting show.
The Holman Motors Chevette division had a strong field of cars on hand as usual
and it was two Georgetown drivers, Miles Tarvin and Sean Jones taking the
checkers in heat race action. In the feature it was all Tarvin as he took the
lead from the pole and never looked back to take the win and gain some ground on
current points leader Jeff Watson in track championship standings. It was the
4th win on the season for the Brown County Pork Producers, Bolender Farms, P&G
Farms, Positive Therapy Services, Patriot Signs car. It was another solid run
for Hillsboro’s Rusty Yarger as he would claim 2nd, followed by Jones, Watson,
and Josh Francis.
The US Race Gear Street Stocks would close out the night’s races and it was
Jamey Adams of Laurelville Ohio and Shane Pendleton of Stout Ohio taking heat

and would dominate all 15 laps taking his 3rd win in three visits to the track
this season in his Helterbran Trucking, Thomas Gas, RA Smith Photo, and

run to finish 2nd and another Sardinia local, Dave Kirker, would fight his way
back to third after going to the tail of the field earlier in the event. Jim
Helterbran of Peebles and Pendleton closed out the top 5.

Doug Adkins, “The Buzzard” Takes Modified Mania Win at MRP!!
7-2-10, Williamsburg, OH - It was the Mt Orab Ford Modifieds going for $1500 to
win in the annual Modified Mania event at Moler Raceway Park. And it was West
Portsmouth, Ohio’s Doug Adkins sweeping the evenings activities. Starting with
qualifications Adkins would top the 27 car charts with a 14.40 lap. In the heat
race actions Adkins would claim another win with Devin Gilpin and Matt Hamilton
also taking checkers.
Rick Curtain would claim the time shortened B-main event. In the feature it was Adkins jumping to the top spot with Gilpin in tow. On lap four third place running Matt Hamilton spun out in turn four and would have to restart from the tail of the field. On the restart Berea, Ky’s Russ Gabbert was able to take over third place from Joey Kramer and despite challenges to Gilpin for the second position he would have to settle for third position. At the finish it was Adkins in his 239 Auto Group, Estes Race Engines machine taking his second win of the season at MRP, followed
by Gilpin, Gabbert, Kramer, and 11th place starter Dave Williams.
In the Sunesis Construction Late Models it was a fine field of 21 late models on
hand with Rick Combs, Mike Meyers, and Barry Doss claiming heat win victories.
In the feature it looked like Combs might get his fourth win of the season as he
jumped out front and led the field for the first eight laps. While in heavy
traffic, Barry Doss was able to close the gap and drive around Combs to take the
top spot. As the laps wound down it was Lil’ John Whitney passing Combs and
applying pressure to Doss for the top spot. As the two leaders came for the
checkers Roger Ruark spun around directly in front of them and set up a scramble
for the win. Taking his second feature win of the season was Doss in his D&G
Trucking, Doss Contracting, Gabbard Ford, Howser’s Discount and Garage sponsored
machine. Whitney would come home second with Combs, Robbie Hensley, and Meyers
rounding out the top five spots.
In the Holman Motors Chevette division it looked like it might be another Jeff
Watson and Miles Tarvin show as the two dominant cars in the class jumped to the
top two positions at the wave of the green flag. Sean Jones would have none of
that as he took the two leaders three wide to take the top spot and run away
from the pack to claim his second feature win of the season in his Rv’s R Us,
Hesler’s Country Corner, Odysey Canvas Works sponsored machine. Tarvin would
take second position followed by Watson, Rusty Yarger and Derrick Davis in the
top five. Tarvin, Watson, and Jones each won heat races while John Mallot Jr
would take the checkered flag in the B-main event.
In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it was once again the H&H Continuous

checkered flag. Bretz would lead all fifteen laps enroute to his sixth feature
win of the season. Following Bretz across the line was Mark Kaetzel, Scott Hess,

6-25-10 - Williamsburg, OH - It was Holman Motors Night at Moler Raceway Park
and the Chevette division was the featured attraction as they were running for
$1500 to win in a 40 lap feature event. The Chevette division started the night
with a round of qualification that would lock in the top six cars. At the end of
qualifications it was Georgetown, Ohio’s Miles Tarvin at the top of the charts
with a lap of 16.59. In the six-car fast car dash it was Jeff Watson taking the
win in his JP Construction machine. In the other heat races it was Derrick Davis
and Josh Francis taking checker flags. In the 40-lap feature it was Jeff Watson
and Kevin Riggs bringing the field to the green flag but it was Rusty Yarger who
would lead first 13 laps from his 3rd starting position. On lap 14 Watson would
take the lead and control the next 6 laps. At the halfway point it was Miles
Tarvin coming to the front and he would lead the final 20 laps of racing action
in his Patriot Signs, Brown County Pork Producers, Positive Therapy Services #80
machine. Following Tarvin across the line was Watson, Sean Jones, Les Romano,
and Scott Ramp.
In the Sunesis Construction Late Model division there was a serious incident in
heat number two as Tory Routier flipped his machine over in turn #3
necessitating a trip to the hospital for precautionary measures. In the
twenty-five lap feature event it was heat winners Rick Combs and Wayne Chinn
bringing the field to the green with Combs taking the advantage and the top
position. Throughout the event Chinn would close the gap in turns 3 & 4 only to
loose ground in turns 1 & 2. At the checkered it was Combs claiming his third
feature win in the A. Hines Racing Engines #24 car. Chinn would come home second
followed by Lil’ John Whitney, Barry Doss, and Chad Stapleton.
The Mt. Orab Ford Modifieds were tuning up for next week’s big Modified Mania
Event but the results were much the same as Columbus, Indiana’s Devin Gilpin
would continue his hot streak by winning his heat race and leading the entire
feature to claim his sixth feature win of the season in his Eddie Gilstrap
Motors, Dasco Race Supply, Impressive Racecar sponsored machine. Behind Gilpin
was a great battle for the second position as heat winner Scotty Kincaid, Jeff
Arnold, and Randy Wash would battle all night long for the second position. At
the checkers it was Kincaid coming home second with Arnold in third spot with
Keeton Streetvall claiming the fourth spot over Wash.
In the final event of the evening the US Race Gear Street Stocks took to the
track and it was defending track champ Jeremie Bretz the man on a mission as he
won the heat and feature event. Bretz would claim his fifth feature of the
season in his H&H continuous Guttering Git-R-Done Graphics machine. Jeremie
Scott would come home second followed by Dave Kirker, Mark Kaetzel and Perry
Dearing. 7-2- UMP Midwest Modified Mania $1500 to Win, plus Fireworks!! 7-9

L&M Performance
Night - American Late Model Series Tackles MRP!!
6-14-10- Williamsburg, OH- On a beautiful Friday night it was the annual visit
by the UMP sanctioned American Late Model Series. With a strong contingent of
locals and the ALMS regulars it was a great night of racing action that got
started with 1 lap of group qualifying and the final car to time in was Curtis
Roberts of Colman, Michigan and he blistered the ¼ mile race track with a new
track record of 12.27 seconds. In heat race action it was UMP national point
leader and one of the winningest late models drivers in 2010 Rusty Schlenk
claiming heat number one with Wapakoneta, Ohio’s Jerry Bowersock claiming heat
number two and Middletown, Ohio’s John Whitney taking the checkers in heat
number three. Following the heat races the top two finishers each redrawed for
starting positions and it was Whitney on the pole with Roberts on the outside.
At the green it was Roberts out front with Whitney chasing. An early caution
would take out the cars of Schlenk and Scott James before ever completing a
green flag lap. Roberts would continue on and claim his first feature win at MRP
in his first ever visit to the speedway in his SMR Recycling, Roberts Auto, K &
M Recyclers, and Rick Auto Sales sponsored machine. Whitney would hold on for
second while Barry Doss would inch past Brian Ruhlman to claim third with Dusty
Moore claiming the fifth position.
In the Mt Orab Ford Modified Division it was another large field of cars on hand
with Andy Bowman claiming his first win in heat number one while Scotty Kincaid
claimed heat number two and Devin Gilpin took home the checkers in heat number
three. In the B-main event it was Brandon Ramsey taking the checkers. In the
feature event it was Kincaid out front to lead the first five laps but there was
lots of cars on the move as Devin Gilpin would take the top spot on lap 6 and
Matt Hamilton charging up to 3rd place just behind Ruhlman who was doing double
duty and driving in two classes. Despite a couple of challenges Ruhlman’s Rocket
chassis was no match for Gilpin’s Impressive Chassis as Kid Dasco rolled to his
fifth feature win on the season at MRP. Gilpin is currently Number One in UMP
points nationwide!! Ruhlman would claim second followed by Matt Hamilton, Rick
Curtain and hard charging Tim Tribby (started in 15th position).
The Holman Motor Chevettes were next on the track. Claiming heat race wins were
Sean Jones, John Mallot Jr, and Miles Tarvin. In the feature event, it was Jones
out front and considering that one week ago he barrel-rolled his machine four
times down the front stretch he was now looking strong in his pursuit to claim
his first ever feature victory. Despite challenges from Tarvin throughout the
race it was Georgetown’s Sean Jones claiming his first ever win in his Helser’s
Country Corner, Farmer’s Insurance, RV’s R Us, Antique Bar sponsored machine.
Jeff Watson got past Tarvin to claim second with Rusty Yarger and John Mallot
rounding out the top five.
In the US Race Gear Street Stock division Jeremie Bretz and Dave Kirker claimed
heat race wins to set the starting lineup for the feature event. It looked early
on like Bretz was going to claim yet another feature win but as they entered the
final corner on the final lap it was Manchester, Ohio’s Jeremie Scott sneaking
by on the outside to claim his second feature win of the season. Bretz would
finish second followed by Dave Kirker, Perry Dearing and Mark Kaetzel. June
25th will be Holman Motors Night with a Chevette Special of $1500 to Win.
Followed by July 2nd, UMP Modified Mania plus Fireworks!! July 9th we’ll have
the Outlaw Sprint Invaders here at MRP!!
U.S. Race Gear Street Stocks Headline the Evening at MRP!!
6-11-10- Williamsburg, OH - The U.S. Race Gear Street Stock cars were the
featured division at MRP and they put on a great show. In heat race action it
was Jamey Adams and Perry Dearing claiming victories and setting the line-up for
the 20-lap feature event. At the green flag it was Jamey Adams out front with
Dearing running second. Following a couple of cautions on lap one it was Jeremie
Bretz on the move and into second position. Throughout the event Bretz would get
underneath Adams but he was unable to take the top spot away. At the checkers it
was Adams claiming his second straight feature event in his Thomas Gas,
Precision Grinding, Helterbrand Trucking sponsored machine. Bretz in a very
close second position followed by Dearing, Tom Hall, and Jeremy Scott.
In the Sunesis Constructio Late Model division it was Larry Pickelheimer Jr and
Chad Stapleton winning the heats. But the feature event would be another story.
At the drop of the green flag it was Pickelheimer out front for the first two
laps but Barry Doss took over on lap three with Rick Combs in tow. Following a
couple of cautions it looked as if Combs was going to be unable to wrestle the
top spot away from Doss but with 3 laps to go Combs was able to take advantage
of another restart and rocket out front of Doss. Combs would claim his second
feature win in the A Hines Racing Engine sponsored machine while Doss would come
home second followed by Stapleton, Kevin Wagner, and Tom Sheets. The race was
red flagged on lap 14 following a hard crash by Pickelheimer off of turn number
two. He was able to walk away from the incident.
In the Mt Orab Ford Modified division another strong field of cars was on hand
with Doug Adkins, youngster Brandon Ramsey, and Devin Gilpin winning heat races
and setting the line-up for the feature event. At the green flag it was Adkins
out front with Gilpin in pursuit. Gilpin would take the top spot on lap four and
never look back in his Impressive Chassis, Gilstrap Motors, Dasco Race Supply
sponsored car. Adkins would come home second followed by Shaun Scott, Dave
Jamison, and Randy Wash.
The Holman Motors Chevette Division would round out the regular racing action
with a fine field of 26 cars on hand. Heat race wins went to Jeff Watson, Miles
Tarvin, and Rusty Yarger while Daryl Wies would claim the B-Main event. In the
feature it was Yarger and Tarvin bringing the field to the green flag with
Yarger leading the first two laps. Tarvin would take over on lap 3 but the race
would be stopped on lap five as Sean Jones took a nasty series of rolls down the
front stretch before coming to rest on his side in turn number one. Jones was
okay but the car was heavily damaged. Once back to racing it was Tarvin the
leader with Watson in pursuit. Watson was able to stay close and took advantage
of lap traffic to take the top position with 3 laps remaining and go on to win
yet another feature event in his Verdon Auto Service, Harmony Salon, Triple C
Powersports Rod to Wrenches Equipment Repair sponsored machine. Tarvin would
come home second followed by Kevin Riggs, Daryl Weis, and John Mallott Jr.
The evening’s activities were rounded out by a series of Mechanic’s races in
each class of cars. Taking wins were Mark Kaetzel Sr. in the Late Model and
Street Stock categories with Smokin Joe Fleshman winning the Modified division
while Ethan Sims claimed the 8 car Chevette mechanics race. 6-18 L&M

Blast from the
past for MRP!!
6-4-10 - Williamsburg, OH - The Vintage American Race Car group kicked off their
season with a visit to MRP Friday night. The VARC club is made up of old-time
race cars who travel the country and visit different race tracks and display
their cars for the fans in the grandstand area and then suit up and hit the race
track for some racing action. In their 15 lap feature event it was Sinking
Springs, Ohio’s Johnny Lawhorn in his 60’s era sprint car taking the win over
the 1980 Silver Crown series car of Dan Swank. Finishing in third position was a
1939 Ford Sedan driven by Franklin, Ohio’s Scott Swain. Swank won the 8 lap heat
race.
In the regular racing action it was a night of attrition as a number of vehicles
had problems and were unable to make the start of the 25 lap Sunesis
Construction Late Model feature event. Rick Combs and Barry Doss won heat races.
In the feature Doss would jump to the lead but Bradford, Ohio’s Wayne Chinn was
right on his bumper in one of CJ Rayburn’s CT525 engine cars. On lap seven Chinn
would take the lead but the racing behind him was fast and furious as Marty
O’Neil, John Whitney, and Skylar Marlar battled for top five positions. In the
end it was Chinn in his Sugarcreek Packaging, Erwin Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge
sponsored machine rolling to victory lane for the first time this year. Doss
would come home second followed by Winfield, Tenn.’s Skylar Marlar, Marty
O’Neil and Larry Pickelheimer Jr.
In the Mt Orab Ford Modifieds it was another full field of cars on hand to
battle for supremecy. In heat race action it was Doug Adkins, Devin Gilpin and
Dave Jamison winning heats with Davey Warnock claiming the B-main event. In the
feature it was a wild start as Adkins jumped from third to first on the first
turn only to have the caution come out and lined the cars back up for a complete
restart. On the restart the front row of Jamison and Gilpin jumped out front
with Adkins and hard charging Weasel Rhodes in tow. Gilpin led the first four
laps before a three wide battle allowed Rhodes to lead lap five and Adkins lead
laps six and seven. Gilpin would then take control and lead the remaining laps
to claim his second feature in a row at MRP and 3rd of the season in his
Gilstrap Motors, Dasco Race Supply, Impressive Racecar sponsored machine. Rhodes
would come home second with Adkins in third. Fourth place was claimed by Murrell
Nafe who charged back through the pack following a lap 12 spin and Dave
McWilliams came home fifth after jumping into a different car following
mechanical difficulties in hot laps.
The Holman Motors Chevettes took an interesting turn at the start of the night
as point leader Miles Tarvin had difficulties in hot laps and would have to
retire for the evening. In the heat races it was Kevin Riggs, Sean Jones and
Scott Ramp claiming victories. In the feature event it was Sean Jones taking the
lead for the first 7 laps before defending track champion Jeff Watson would take
the lead in traffic and set sail on the field. With two laps to go the first
caution of the event would come out setting up a restart but Jones was no match
for Watson as he sailed to his fifth feature win of the season. Jones came home
second with Blake Naylor making his return behind the wheel successful as he
charged from 11th starting spot to third place in the feature event. Rusty
Yarger and Ramp completed the top five positions.
In the US Race Gear street stock action it was newcomer Jamey Adams winning heat
race number one while last weeks feature winner Jeremy Scott won heat race
number two. In the feature it was a great battle as Adams and Scott raced
side-by-side for the first four laps before Scott jumped out front. Following a
lap seven caution for Dave Kirker, Adams would jump out front and lead to the
finish. The Laurelville, Ohio native would claim his first victory of the season
at MRP in his Thomas Gas, Helterbran Trucking, RA Smith Photo, Precision
Grinding sponsored machine. Jeremie Bretz would claim the second spot followed
by Jeremy Scott, Scott Hess and Chad Barr. 6-11 Street Stock Special $600 to

5-14-10 - Williamsburg,
OH - Salute to
Armed Forces Night at MRP
The Third Annual
Armed Forces Night at MRP was another exciting night with
great competition in the field for three-time feature winner Jason Jamison.
In the Freedom Fighter 40 for Late Models there were 22 cars on hand and
qualifying was the first order of business with Jason Jamison taking the top
spot with a 13.595 lap. In the heat races it was Josh McGuire taking heat
number one over Dennis Erb while Jason Feger took the victory in heat race
number 2 over Marty O’Neal.
In the fast car dash it was Rick Combs taking the win over Jamison and setting
the starting line-up for the 40 lap shootout. Before the driver introductions it
was a moment to honor not only a military veteran but one of the pioneers in
area racing as MRP recognized
the Legendary
Chick Hale with a “Pioneer
of Racing
Award” for his long-time
contribution to the racing community. At 83 years of age Chick was excited to
receive such an honor. At the drop of the green flag it was all Jason Jamison as
the field went 20 laps before the first caution waved for Marty O’Neal as
Jamison led over Rick Combs and Justin Ratliff. On the restart only
one
additional lap was
completed before Mason Combs spun around and brought out the events second
caution. When the green waved it was Josh McGuire on the move with Dennis Erb in
tow, but neither one
had anything for Jamison as he won his fourth consecutive feature event at MRP.
Following Jamison across the line were McGuire, Erb, R. Combs, and Wayne Chinn.
One lucky fan was also victorious as throughout the night fans were randomly
paired up with feature drivers and at the end of the night it was Dan Kratzer
winning the $100 cash prize and a trip to victory lane with the feature event
winner.
In the Mt. Orab Ford Modifieds it was another 22 car field on hand with Dave
McWilliams, Doug Adkins, and Shaun Scott all taking heat race wins. In the
feature it was Adkins out front at the start but McWilliams was on the move from
his third starting spot and at the halfway mark it was McWilliams
in
his Bob Pierce Racecar working the high side to take the top position and
setting sail for his second consecutive victory. Adkins would hold onto second
over Devin Gilpin, Randy Wash, and Shawn Tolson.
In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it was Dave Kirker and Benji Dean taking heat
race wins. In the feature the talk was whether or not Jeremie Bretz could stay
undefeated in street stock feature event action. At the green it was Lexington,
KY’s Dean out front but all eyes were on Bretz as he chased Dean for the top
spot. Dean held on to win his first ever feature event at MRP while Bretz came
home second followed by Jeremy Scott, Scott Hess, and Mark Kaetzel.
In the Holman Motors
Chevettes a smaller
than normal field of cars (20 cars) treated the fans to a great night of racing.
In heat race action it was Sean Jones and Jeff Watson taking the checkers and
setting the starting line-up. In the feature event it was a three car battle
throughout as Watson and Jones traded the top spot while Miles Tarvin looked for
a way around. Tarvin was able to take the top spot on lap 6 and never look back
as he went on to win his second feature of the season. Watson came home second
with Josh Francis, Jones, and Paul Luers rounding out the top five positions.
There's a big show in WV for the Lucas

Mother’s Day Weekend At MRP!!
5-7-10- Williamsburg, OH - Mother’s Day weekend kicked off at Moler Raceway Park
with a nice field of race cars in attendance. The Sunesis Construction Late
Models started with a field of nineteen cars on hand. In heat race action it was
Barry Doss and Jason Jamison winning heat races and setting the starting lineup
for the feature event. In the feature event it was Jamison taking the lead at
the start with Chamberlain and Barry Doss battling for the second spot. By lap
20 Chamberlain took control of the second position and set sail searching for
the leader but to no avail as Lawrenceburg, Indiana’s Jason Jamison would lead
take the lead and take home his third consecutive feature win on the season.
Chamberlain came home second with Lil’ John Whitney, Chad Stapleton, and Barry
Doss rounding out the top five.
In the Mt Orab Ford Modified Division another great field of cars were on hand
as 28 cars were seeking a starting spot in the feature event. Winning heat
events were Bedford, Indiana’s Greg Johnson, Columbus, Indiana’s Devin Gilpin,
and Verona, KY’s Dave McWilliams. In the B-main event it was Scotty Kincaid
taking the victory. In the feature event it was McWilliams and Gilpin that would
bring the field to the green flag with McWilliams taking the lead into turn one.
Gilpin would try for the entire 20 laps to get by McWilliams and on the final
turn would get beside McWilliams but fall just short of stealing the win!
McWilliams would pick up his first feature win of the season in his Bob Pierce
Racecar, L&M Performance, Time Auto Sales sponsored machine. Devin Gilpin would
come home second with Johnson, Jimmy Lennox Jr, and Bradley Sterret rounding out
the top five.
In the Holman Motor Chevettes it was much the same as last week when
Williamsburg’s Jeff Watson would claim another evening sweep. Watson was the
winner of heat race number one while Georgetown’s Miles Tarvin was the winner of
heat race number two. In the feature it was Watson jumping out front and leading
the field flag to flag while a great battle ensued behind him. At the checkered
it was Kevin Riggs holding off Derrick Davis for the second position while
Tarvin and Rusty Yarger completed the top five.
In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it was newcomer Benji Dean taking the win in
the first heat with Jeremie Bretz winning heat race number two. In the feature
it was Jeremie Bretz taking the lead but this week he was driving a different
car than had won the previous three weeks as the car owner sold the other car
and he had to bring out the back-up. The back-up car was no different as Bretz
was able to win his fourth feature in a row in the H&H Continuous Guttering ,
Git-R-Done Graphics machine. Jeremy Scott came home second with Mark Kaetzel,
Dave Kirker, and Craig Naylor rounding out the top five.
In the Powder Puff division it was Brittany Francis taking the win in a Holman
Motors Chevette with Christy Marischen coming home second behind the wheel of
uncle Mike’s Modified.
Moler Raceway Park would like to thank Larry Boos of Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway, Donna Rayburn of Portsmouth Raceway Park and many others who took the time to testify at the court case this week. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers and please keep them coming.

Mt Orab Ford Modified
Special Headlines MRP!!
4-30-10, Williamsburg, OH - The Mt Orab Ford Modified division was the feature
division of the week with $1,000 on the line to the Winner!! With 40 cars on
hand the night’s festivities would begin with qualifications. Topping the
charts would be 19 year-old Devin Gilpin out of Columbus, Indiana, with a 13.63
lap. Brad Weick, Weasel Rhodes and Matt Hamilton would round out the top four
qualifiers with each of the top four locked into the A-Main Event. Next up were
the 4 heat race events with the top 3 finishers securing a starting spot in the
A-main. Winning heat races were Dave Jamison, Shawn Tolson, Joey Kramer, and
Greg Johnson. Winning the B-main event was Chuck Griffis. In the feature event
it looked like Devin Gilpin would run away but with 6 laps to go Greg Johnson
got to the outside of Gilpin and the two would race side-by-side for the final 6
laps with Gilpin taking the win!! Johnson would come home 2nd with Joey Kramer,
Matt Hamilton, and Dave McWilliams rounding out the top five.
In the Sunesis Construction Late Models there were 24 cars on hand with Chad
Stapleton, Tim Prince, and Marty O’Neal taking the heat wins. In the feature it
was fast and furious action as O’Neal had the lead but Prince and Chad Stapleton
put on a great show battling with him. On lap 6 several cars bunched up and it
was Barry Doss taking advantage and launching out to the top spot. The man on
the move was Lawrenceburg Indiana’s Jason Jamison. On lap 9 he was in 8th spot
but he steadily moved forward and would eventually take the lead from Doss on
lap 21. Jamison would continue on and take the win with Doss, John Whitney, Tim
Prince and Tommy Riggs rounding out the top five.
In the Holman Motors Chevette class there were 31 Chevettes on hand. Heat race
wins went to Jeff Watson, Jason Hoskins, and Miles Tarvin with Paul Luers taking
honors in the last chance race. In the feature it was all Jeff Watson as the
Williamsburg native took control at the start of the feature and led all 15 laps
in taking his second win of the season. Josh Francis would come home second with
Miles Tarvin, Sean Jones, and Derrick Davis rounding out the top five.
The evening was capped off with the US Race Gear Street Stock division and it
was much the same as previous nights as Maysville, Kentucky’s Jeremie Bretz
swept the evening for the 3rd time this season. In the heat race action Bretz
would have his hands full as he passed Manchester, Ohio’s Jeremy Scott on the
final lap to take the heat win while Sardinia’s Mark Kaetzel would take home the
other heat race win. In the feature it was all Bretz as he led all fifteen laps
enroute to his 3rd win in as many tries this season. Jeremie Scott would come
home second, Kaetzel, Bill Crabtree, and Scott Hess would round out the top
five.

Williamsburg, OH - 4-9-10-Brown County Chamber Night at Moler Raceway Park
Night number two of the racing season kicked off at MRP with Brown County
Chamber of Commerce Night. While mother nature was kind enough to provide a
beautiful sunny day it was a chilly night at the race track. In the Sunesis
Construction Late Model Division it was a small but talented field of cars on
hand. In heat race action it was Chad Stapleton and Lil’ John Whitney taking
heat wins and setting the feature line-up. At the drop of the green flag it was
Stapleton out front into turn one but 3rd starting Duane Chamberlain took the
top spot and led the first eight laps in a fast and furious beginning.
Chamberlain would break at the start of lap nine and Stapleton would retake the
lead with Jason Jamison and a hard charging Wayne Chinn in tow. On lap 13 the
leaders caught lap traffic and the resulting damage cost Stapleton the top spot.
Jamison would lead from lap 13 on but for two laps it was Bradford, Ohio’s Wayne
Chinn applying lots of pressure but he would succumb to mechanical difficulties.
Jamison took the win in his Bert Transmission sponsored machine. Barry Doss
would come home second with Jeff Alsip, Mike Meyers, and Tim Carpenter rounding
out the top five positions.
In the Mt. Orab Ford Modified division there were 22 cars on hand and the heat
race wins went to Weasel Rhoades and Dave McWilliams. In the 20-lap feature
event it was McWilliams out front with Rhoades hot on his tail. On a lap eight
restart things got exciting as fifth running Matt Hamilton made contact with the
outside wall off of turn two and the top two cars made contact and stuck
together in turn number four. On the restart it was “The Buzzard” Doug Adkins
leading the field to the green with Randy Wash and Dave Jamison in tow. At the
finish line it was Adkins taking his first win of 2010 in his Estes Racing
Engines 239 Auto Group Sponsored Machine with Randy Wash getting his best career
finish at MRP in second followed by Bill Keeler, Dave Jamison, and Jeff Arnold.
In the Holman Motor Chevette division it was another full field of cars on hand.
In heat race action it was Derrick Davis, Jeff Watson, and Miles Tarvin taking
heat race wins with Kevin Riggs winning the B-main event. In the feature it was
Jeff Watson taking the lead at the start of the race but the scary moment took
place on lap seven as Kris Parker took a nasty hit into the outside wall off of
turn four. On the restart it was all Jeff Watson in his Harmony Salon,
Rod-to-Wrenches Repair, Triple C Powersports race car. Sean Jones came home
second with Miles Tarvin third and Josh Francis and Derrick Davis rounding out
the top five.
In the US Race Gear Street Stock division it was much the same story as Jeremie
Bretz continued his domination by taking the heat and feature wins in his H&H
Continuous Guttering, Git-R-Done Graphics, Reis Garage machine. Bill Crabtree
came home second with Scott Hess, Paul Baker, and Todd Anstaett rounding out the
top five. April 16th will be a regular show followed by U.S. Race Gear Street
Stock Special on April 23rd.

4-2-10 - Williamsburg, OH -
MRP Opens 2010 Season with the Hillbilly Nationals!!
It was a packed house at Moler Raceway Park for the Opening night of the 2010
season with the Holman Motors Hillbilly Nationals for the 4 cylinder Chevette
class. With 30 cars on hand all seeking victory and the $1,000 to win feature it
was destined to be a rough and tumble affair. Heat races were won by Paul Luers,
Josh Francis and Jeff Watson. In the B-main there were 17 cars vying for the
final starting positions. There was some excitement in the b-main as Melissa
Cochran tumbled upside down on the front stretch. She was okay but her car was
done for the evening.
When racing resumed it was
Alanah Weis taking the b-main victory. In the feature event there were 24
starters looking to take home the Hillbilly Nationals Cup Trophy. As Greg
Holman threw the green flag all eyes were on Jeff Watson as he had the pole
position. On the start Watson had problems and would never be a factor as West
Union’s Josh Francis set sail as the man to beat. Francis continued to lead but
on lap 23 it was Miles Tarvin who would catch and pass Francis and go on to
claim the first feature event of the season. Tarvin was followed by Josh
Francis, Derrick Davis, Rusty Yarger, and Paul Luers.
In the Sunesis Construction Late Models there were 19 cars on hand for opening
night and Barry Doss and John Whitney would set the field by winning their heat
races. In the feature it was Doss out front with Richmond, Indiana’s Steve
Casebolt right on his bumper. As the race went on it was Doss, Casebolt,
Whitney, and Wayne Chinn out front. Whitney had problems on lap 19 and it was a
6 lap shootout from there but “The Boss” Barry Doss would not be denied as he
held off Casebolt to win the first Late Model feature of 2010 in his Mt. Orab
Ford, Howser’s Discount and Garage sponsored machine.
Next up was the Mt Orab Ford Modified division. There were 21 cars on hand and
it was definitely going to be a close race as some top-notch runners from
throughout the region were in attendance. In heat races it was Matt Hamilton,
Rick Corbin, and Daryl Herbert taking wins and setting the line-up for the
feature event. At the drop of the green flag it was Hamilton out front with
Corbin in second but by lap 2 Herbert would take over the second position and
set sail for the leader. Problems on lap 5 would end the night for Herbert and
any challenges that Hamilton might have. Hamilton was able to take home the win
in his Diamond Racecar with Rick Corbin second followed by Jimmy Lennox Jr, Dave
McWilliams, and Dave Jamison rounding out the top five finishers.
The final event of the evening was the US Race Gear Street Stocks and it appears
like much of the same as 2009 as Maysvile, KY’s Jeremie Bretz was victorious in
his H&H Continuous Guttering, Reis Garage, Git-R-Done Graphix sponsored machine.
Bretz led every lap on his way to the victory with Scott Hess close behind in
second spot. Chris Kreutzkamp, Todd Anstaett, and Mark Kaetzel would round out
the top five running order.
