L&M Performance Fall Fest/Season Championship at Moler Raceway Park!!

10-1-10- In what was the final regular race of the season at MRP there was a full pit

of cars on hand in all divisions trying to take home the extra money. In

the Sunesis Construction Late Models there were 18 cars with Barry Doss

and Chad Stapleton claiming heat race victories. In the feature event it was

Stapleton out front at the drop of the green but it was “The Sniper” Wayne Chinn

in pursuit as the CJ Rayburn chassis Erwin Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge sponsored Gary

Engle owned machine would take the lead on lap 7 and cruise on to his third

victory of the season at MRP. Following Chinn across the line was late model

rookie Jeremie Bretz coming home second with Stapleton, Dillon Huron, and John

Whitney Jr. rounding out the top five.

A very large field of Mt Orab Ford Modifieds were on hand as they were all

gunning for the $1,000 paycheck on the line as well as those valuable UMP

points. In heat races it was Doug Adkins, Devin Gilpin, Dave McWilliams, and

Jeremy Rayburn all claiming victories while Shane Mugavin and Jerry Lawson

claimed wins in the B-main events. With the field of 33 narrowed down to 20 for

the starting line-up it looked as though the fans were in for a great race. On

the first start it was Rayburn having problems with Dave McWilliams and Devin

Gilpin going three-wide through turn two and making contact with Gilpin

suffering suspension damage and ending his night. On the restart, with Rayburn

and Gilpin out and McWilliams on the tail, it was now Shaun Scott on the pole

with Doug Adkins on the outside. At the green Scott would jump out front but

Adkins would take the lead by the end of lap number one. The man on the move was

Aurora, Indiana’s Matt Hamilton as he quickly moved through the field from 8th

spot up to second position. A lap seven restart doomed Hamilton as he would have

a mechanical failure ending his night. Adkins would go on to lead the rest of

the race and claim his fourth feature win of the season at MRP in his 239 Auto

Group, Estes Race Engines, Poske Performance Parts sponsored machine. Shaun

Scott would come home second followed by Barry Doss, Ron Hyer, and McWilliams

rounding out the top five.

In the Holman Motors Chevettes it would come down to the final race to determine

the track champion as Miles Tarvin and Jeff Watson would fight to the end. At

the end of the night it was Tarvin winning the battle as he won his seventh

feature of the season but Watson would win the war as he would place 3rd in the

feature to narrowly win the track championship. On the night it was Tarvin taking the

lead from Scott Ramp on lap 8 and go on to win the feature. Ronnie Choate Jr,

Rusty Yarger, and Ramp were heat race winners.  Derek Davis won the B Main.

Following Tarvin across the line was Ramp, Watson, Yarger, and Sean Jones.

In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it was a full field of cars as there was

enough cars for a B-main for the first time this season.  In heat race action

things got exciting as Jeremie Bretz and Mark Kaetzel made contact coming for

the checkered flag in their heat race with Bretz taking the win. Laurelville,

Ohio’s Jamey Adams and Jeremie Scott were also victorious in heat race action

while Bill Crabtree was winner of the B-main. In the feature it was Bretz out

front from the start with Jamey Adams in pursuit. Adams would take the lead on

lap fifteen but Bretz would retake the lead on lap 18. Adams would get into the

outside wall on the final lap heading into turn three doing major damage to his

car causing a one lap shoot-out between Bretz and Jeremie Scott. Bretz would

claim his eleventh street stock feature win of the season with Scott, Wayne Hughes,

Bruce Gray Jr, and Richard Trego rounding out the top five.

Congratulations to our 2010 Track Champions: Sunesis Construction Late Models Track Champion Barry Doss!!  Holman Motors Chevette Track Champion Jeff Watson!!  U.S. Race Gear’s Street Stock Champion Jeremie Bretz!!  Mt. Orab Ford UMP Modified Champion as well as National UMP Champion, Devin Gilpen!!  Thanks everyone for a Wonderful 2010.  Hopefully we’ll see you at our Turkey Gobbler on November 20th, details to follow at www.molerracewaypark.com.

American Modified Series at MRP!!

9-17-10, Williamsburg, OH - The American Modified Series was in town for a 30-lap special event paying $1,500 to the winner and $200 just to start the A-main event.  There were 39 cars on hand trying to tap into the cash. First order of business was qualification and after that it was Trent Young of Hopkinsville, Ky taking the $100 bonus for quick time. In heat race action it was Devin Gilpin taking the victory in heat race #1 with Bryan Barber winning the second heat race. In heat race number three it was Bloomington, Indiana’s Clint Demoss taking the win while Glasgow, Ky’s Michael England was victorious in the fourth and final heat race. To finish setting the field there were two B-main events with Cory Skipton and Randy King taking the checkers in each.

For the feature event it was Devin Gilpin and Clint Demoss bringing the field to the green flag with Demoss jumping to the lead for the first lap before England and Trent Young took over the top two spots. Once the field got going it looked as if Gilpin was going to be the man to beat as he jumped to the top of the race track and starting picking off first Demoss and then Young. On lap ten Gilpin got to the outside of England for the lead but coming off of turn four while passing some lap cars Gilpin got into

the outside wall and flipped his machine over landing on the roof. While there were

no injuries he was done racing for the night. Following the restart it looked as

though England and Clint Demoss were going to battle it out for the win but by

lap fifteen it was series point leader John Demoss charging to the front from

his eighth starting position.  Despite a couple of restarts and Trent Young

taking a run for the top spot John Demoss was able to hold on and claim his

second AMS feature victory of the season in his Hoosier Drywall Specialist,

Erwin Cooper Racing Foundation, Bob Pierce Racecar powered by a Mullins Race

Engine. Young would hold on for second followed by Clint Demoss, Matt Hamilton

(started 20th) and Everett Bradham.

In the Sunesis Construction Late Models it was another nice field of cars as

three heat races and a B-main event were needed to set the starting line-ups. In

the preliminaries it was Chad Stapleton, Jason Jameson, and Duane Chamberlain

taking heat race wins with Dave Kirker taking the B-main checkers. In the

feature it was Stapleton out front with Jameson in hot pursuit. By lap 7 Jameson

was able to make the pass for the top spot but it was Chamberlain who was on the

move. By lap 18 Chamberlain had dispensed of Stapleton and was chasing Jameson

through traffic. With three laps to go Jameson got caught in some much slower

lapped traffic and contact was made with Chamberlain sending the #12 car

spinning around. Since Jamison came to a stop on the race track and the incident

was not ruled as intentional the race was restarted with Chamberlain the new

leader. Chamberlain was able to hold off Doss and take his first victory at MRP

this season and his first anywhere since taking over the Patrick Sheltra

Motorsports ride. Doss came home second with Dillon Huron, Chad Stapleton, and Brian

Gray Rounding out the top five positions.

US Race Gear Street Stocks were up next and it was once again the Jeremie Bretz

show as he led the final six laps to take yet another win in his Doug’s Glazing,

H&H Continuous Guttering, Git-R-Done Graphics machine. Jeremie Scott came home

second followed by Mark Kaetzel Bruce Gray Jr, and Ed Reynolds. Bretz and Gray

were heat race winners.

In the Holman Motors Chevette Division it was much the same as Sean Jones

continued to dominate the class as he took his division leading seventh feature

win of the season (most all of them in the second half of the season). Points

leader Jeff Watson came home second with Miles Tarvin, Rusty Yarger, And Terry

Lewis rounding out the top five positions. Jones and Watson were victorious in

the heat race action.  Next week at MRP is the L&M Performance Season Championship with the points battle up for grabs it’ll be an exciting night for lots of drivers.  October 1st will be MRP’s Fourth Annual Fall Fest with Late Models paying $1500 to Win, Modifieds $1000 to Win and Chevettes and Street Stocks paying $500 to win!!  November 20th will be the 2nd Annual Coca-Cola Turkey Gobbler 40 with Late Models paying $1500 to Win!!

9-10-10-Williamsburg, OH - It was another exciting night of racing at Moler Raceway Park as the Holman Motors Chevette division had a special event paying $1,000 to the winner. In preliminary action it was the top four point cars going head to head for a five lap shootout with Williamsburg, Ohio’s Jeff Watson taking the win and earning the pole position in the feature event. In heat race action it was Tennessee’s Ronnie Choate Jr. taking the first heat with Ripley, Ohio’s Trevor Moffett taking the win in heat number two. In the 40 lap main event it was Watson and Miles Tarvin on the front row, but at the drop of the green flag it was Sean Jones jumping to the top spot from his third starting position. While Jones was out front it was Choate Jr. running second with Tarvin and Watson in tow. By lap 17 Tarvin was up to second and pressuring Jones for the top position. On lap 21 there was contact between Tarvin and Jones bringing out a caution with Tarvin being sent to the tail for the restart. On the restart Jones was all by himself out front with Watson now up to second spot. At the end of 40 laps it was Sean Jones taking the $1,000 and the crystal trophy courtesy of Greg Holman and the entire Holman Motor staff. Watson would hold on for second spot followed by Choate, Rusty Yarger, and Scott Ramp.

In the Mt Orab Ford Modified Division there were 25 cars on hand. In heat race action it was Peebles,Ohio resident Dave Jamison winning heat race number one with Indiana’s Devin Gilpin, and Hamersville, Ohio resident Randy Wash taking heat victories as well. In the B-main event it was Cory Skipton taking the checkered flag and setting the field for the feature event. In the main event it took three restarts to get the field strung out without a complete restart. While Gilpin had gotten the jump on the first two it was Jamison out front on start number three and Dave McWilliams up to second. Gilpin would have none of it has he quickly made his way to the top spot by lap three.  With Cory Skipton spinning on lap 8 it forced a caution and on the restart it was McWilliams taking the top spot with Gilpin back to second. McWilliams led the next two laps before Gilpin was able to drive past on the outside and retake the lead before setting sail for his tenth feature win on the season at MRP in his Mike Shell Racing Engines, Dasco Race Supply, Impressive Race Car. McWilliams came home second with Wash, Jamison, and Rick Curtin rounding out the top five spots.  With a few weeks left for points Devin Gilpin is not only Moler Raceway Park’s current point winner but point leader in the Nation!!

In the Sunesis Construction Late Model division there was a 19 car field on hand and it was Maysville, Kentucky’s Dillon Huron and Jeremie Bretz each taking heat race wins. In the feature event it was John Whitney taking the lead on lap one from his third starting spot but it was evident that Jason Jameson was going to be the man to beat. Jameson took the lead on lap five and was running away from the field when on lap nine contact was made with the lapped car of Tim Carpenter that sent Jamison spinning around. On the restart with Jameson on the tail, it was Whitney back out front but Barry Doss quickly took the lead away. As laps wore down a caution on lap 17 reset the field for an old fashion 8 lap shootout. The final five laps sent Doss, Whitney, Tyler Carpenter, and Jason Jamison battling side by side for the top spot. On the final lap it was Jameson getting past Doss to retake the lead and the 25 lap feature event. Doss came home second with Carpenter (started 18th), Whitney, and Mike Meyers rounding out the top five.

In the final division of the night it was a 19 car field on hand in the US Race Gear Street Stock division.  In heat race action it was Mark Kaetzel and Jamie Adams taking the wins. In the feature event it was all Adams as the Helterbran Trucking, Thomas Gas, RA Smith Photos car was hooked up as the Laurelville, Ohio driver took home his fifth feature win on the season. Kaetzel came home second followed by Bub Balsley, Jeremie Bretz and Bruce Gray Jr.  With the season coming to an end you only have a few more chances to make it out to MRP.  9-17 the American Modified Series will visit MRP for a $1500 to Win show and a Very Special Guest!!  9-18 is a very special Race Car Expo on the Courthouse Square in Georgetown, OH from ten to two.  We hope everyone makes time to get to this event.  9-24 L&M Performance Season Championship Late Models $1500 to Win.  10-1 Fall Fest Late Models $1500 to Win and 11-20 the Coca-Cola Turkey Gobbler 40, Late Models $1500 to Win plus all regular classes.  www.molerracewaypark.com

Labor Day at Moler Raceway Park has new faces in victory lane!!

9-3-10, Williamsburg, OH - Labor Day weekend kicked off at MRP with 99 cars on hand and finished with a couple of new winners in victory lane. In the Sunesis Construction Late Model division there were 24 cars on hand with Heltonville, Indiana’s Tim Prince in his Prince Excavating, Andi’s Logging, Brad’s Brass machine taking his first ever feature win at MR!. At the start of the feature it was Prince out front and no one could touch him.  But there was a furious battle behind him as Rick Combs, Robby Hensley, Barry Doss, and Duane Chamberlain battled two and sometimes three wide for the second position. At the end of the race it was Prince out front with Hensley, Combs, Doss, and Chamberlain completing the top five positions. In heat race action it was Prince, Dillon Huron, and Hensley taking the wins with Ricky Slayback taking the B-main event win.

Next on the race track was the Holman Motors Chevette division.  Following heat race victories by Josh Francis, Sean Jones, and Jeff Watson it was Jeremy Smith taking the win in the B-main race. In the feature it was Jones out front but Francis had problems and dropped out on the second lap which then left Watson in second but Miles Tarvin was on the move and passed Watson for second and there was no catching Jones as he took his fifth feature win of the season in his Helsar’s Country Corner, Rv’s-R-US, Suzy Q’s, Antique Bar sponsored machine. Tarvin would come home second followed by Watson, Scott Ramp, and Trevor Moffett.

Next onto the race track was the first ever visit by the Legends cars as the group who predominately runs at Brushcreek Motorsports Park  made their way to Moler for the first time. At the end of their fifteen lap feature event it was Tom Partin in victory lane. Matt Nichols would come home second followed by Kevin Schoonover, Jacob Miller, and Gary Rowland.  Schoonover was victorious in the heat race.

With another strong field of Mt Orab Ford Modifieds on hand (29 cars) the question was who could stop Devin Gilpin. With 8 feature wins before the night Gilpin was hoping to add to his track and UMP point standings. At the drop of the green flag Gilpin took the lead but it was quickly evident that the veteran Daryl Herbert may have something for Gilpin. Following a number of restarts for minor spins there was finally a long stretch of green flag racing in which Gilpin was able to take his Mike Shell Racing Engines, Eddie Gilstrap Motors, Dasco Race Supply, Terry Eaglin Motorsports machine to victory lane for the ninth win of the season. Herbert had problems on the last lap and coasted across the line in second position followed by Rick Curtain, Barry Doss, and Andy Bowman. Gilpin, Dustin Webber, and Doug Popp were heat race winners.  Kyle Mitchell took the B-main win.

The final event of the night would find a third new face in victory lane as Hooven, Ohio’s Bub Balsley would make his first visit to MRP successful as he would battle Bruce Gray Jr throughout the 15 lap race before taking the win. Gray held on for second followed by Brandon Mather, Paul Baker, and Mark Kaetzel Jr. Gray and Balsley were winners of the heat race action.   September 10 will be Holman Motors Chevette Special,

On lap 19 there was some slight contact between the two leaders that allowed Jason Jameson to pass them both and take over the top spot. Chamberlain came home second with Lil’ John Whitney, Chad Stapleton, and Barry Doss rounding out the top five.

In the Mt Orab Ford Modified Division another great field of cars were on hand as 28 cars were seeking a starting spot in the feature event. Winning heat events were Bedford, Indiana’s Greg Johnson, Columbus, Indiana’s Devin Gilpin, and Verona, KY’s Dave McWilliams. In the B-main event it was Scotty Kincaid taking the victory. In the feature event it was McWilliams and Gilpin that would bring the field to the green flag with McWilliams taking the lead into turn one. Gilpin would try for the entire 20 laps to get by McWilliams and on the final turn would get beside McWilliams but fall just short of stealing the win! McWilliams would pick up his first feature win of the season in his Bob Pierce Racecar, L&M Performance, Time Auto Sales sponsored machine. Devin Gilpin would come home second with Johnson, Jimmy Lennox Jr, and Bradley Sterret rounding out the top five.

In the Holman Motor Chevettes it was much the same as last week when Williamsburg’s Jeff Watson would claim another evening sweep. Watson was the winner of heat race number one while Georgetown’s Miles Tarvin was the winner of heat race number two. In the feature it was Watson jumping out front and leading the field flag to flag while a great battle ensued behind him. At the checkered it was Kevin Riggs holding off Derrick Davis for the second position while Tarvin and Rusty Yarger completed the top five.

In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it was newcomer Benji Dean taking the win in the first heat with Jeremie Bretz winning heat race number two. In the feature it was Jeremie Bretz taking the lead but this week he was driving a different car than had won the previous three weeks as the car owner sold the other car and he had to bring out the back-up. The back-up car was no different as Bretz was able to win his fourth feature in a row in the H&H Continuous Guttering , Git-R-Done Graphics machine. Jeremy Scott came home second with Mark Kaetzel, Dave Kirker, and Craig Naylor rounding out the top five.

In the Powder Puff division it was Brittany Francis taking the win in a Holman Motors Chevette with Christy Marischen coming home second behind the wheel of uncle Mike’s Modified.

With 40 cars on hand the night’s festivities would begin with qualifications.  Topping the charts would be 19 year-old Devin Gilpin out of Columbus, Indiana, with a 13.63 lap. Brad Weick, Weasel Rhodes and Matt Hamilton would round out the top four qualifiers with each of the top four locked into the A-Main Event. Next up were the 4 heat race events with the top 3 finishers securing a starting spot in the A-main. Winning heat races were Dave Jamison, Shawn Tolson, Joey Kramer, and Greg Johnson. Winning the B-main event was Chuck Griffis. In the feature event it looked like Devin Gilpin would run away but with 6 laps to go Greg Johnson got to the outside of Gilpin and the two would race side-by-side for the final 6 laps with Gilpin taking the win!! Johnson would come home 2nd with Joey Kramer, Matt Hamilton, and Dave McWilliams rounding out the top five.

In the Sunesis Construction Late Models there were 24 cars on hand with Chad Stapleton, Tim Prince, and Marty O’Neal taking the heat wins. In the feature it was fast and furious action as O’Neal had the lead but Prince and Chad Stapleton put on a great show battling with him. On lap 6 several cars bunched up and it was Barry Doss taking advantage and launching out to the top spot. The man on the move was Lawrenceburg Indiana’s Jason Jamison. On lap 9 he was in 8th spot but he steadily moved forward and would eventually take the lead from Doss on lap 21. Jamison would continue on and take the win with Doss, John Whitney, Tim Prince and Tommy Riggs rounding out the top five.

In the Holman Motors Chevette class there were 31 Chevettes on hand. Heat race wins went to Jeff Watson, Jason Hoskins, and Miles Tarvin with Paul Luers taking honors in the last chance race. In the feature it was all Jeff Watson as the Williamsburg native took control at the start of the feature and led all 15 laps in taking his second win of the season. Josh Francis would come home second with Miles Tarvin, Sean Jones, and Derrick Davis rounding out the top five.

The evening was capped off with the US Race Gear Street Stock division and it was much the same as previous nights as Maysville, Kentucky’s Jeremie Bretz swept the evening for the 3rd time this season. In the heat race action Bretz would have his hands full as he passed Manchester, Ohio’s Jeremy Scott on the final lap to take the heat win while Sardinia’s Mark Kaetzel would take home the other heat race win. In the feature it was all Bretz as he led all fifteen laps enroute to his 3rd win in as many tries this season. Jeremie Scott would come home second, Kaetzel, Bill Crabtree, and Scott Hess would round out the top five.

Williamsburg, OH - 4-9-10-

Williamsburg, OH - 4-9-10-Brown County Chamber Night at Moler Raceway Park

Night number two of the racing season kicked off at MRP with Brown County Chamber of Commerce Night. While mother nature was kind enough to provide a beautiful sunny day it was a chilly night at the race track.  In the Sunesis Construction Late Model Division it was a small but talented field of cars on hand. In heat race action it was Chad Stapleton and Lil’ John Whitney taking heat wins and setting the feature line-up. At the drop of the green flag it was Stapleton out front into turn one but 3rd starting Duane Chamberlain took the top spot and led the first eight laps in a fast and furious beginning. Chamberlain would break at the start of lap nine and Stapleton would retake the lead with Jason Jamison and a hard charging Wayne Chinn in tow. On lap 13 the leaders caught lap traffic and the resulting damage cost Stapleton the top spot. Jamison would lead from lap 13 on but for two laps it was Bradford, Ohio’s Wayne Chinn applying lots of pressure but he would succumb to mechanical difficulties. Jamison took the win in his Bert Transmission sponsored machine. Barry Doss would come home second with Jeff Alsip, Mike Meyers, and Tim Carpenter rounding out the top five positions.

In the Mt. Orab Ford Modified division there were 22 cars on hand and the heat race wins went to Weasel Rhoades and Dave McWilliams. In the 20-lap feature event it was McWilliams out front with Rhoades hot on his tail. On a lap eight restart things got exciting as fifth running Matt Hamilton made contact with the outside wall off of turn two and the top two cars made contact and stuck together in turn number four. On the restart it was “The Buzzard” Doug Adkins leading the field to the green with Randy Wash and Dave Jamison in tow. At the finish line it was Adkins taking his first win of 2010 in his Estes Racing Engines 239 Auto Group Sponsored Machine with Randy Wash getting his best career finish at MRP in second followed by Bill Keeler, Dave Jamison, and Jeff Arnold.

In the Holman Motor Chevette division it was another full field of cars on hand. In heat race action it was Derrick Davis, Jeff Watson, and Miles Tarvin taking heat race wins with Kevin Riggs winning the B-main event. In the feature it was Jeff Watson taking the lead at the start of the race but the scary moment took place on lap seven as Kris Parker took a nasty hit into the outside wall off of turn four.  On the restart it was all Jeff Watson in his Harmony Salon, Rod-to-Wrenches Repair, Triple C Powersports race car. Sean Jones came home second with Miles Tarvin third and Josh Francis and Derrick Davis rounding out the top five.

In the US Race Gear Street Stock division it was much the same story as Jeremie Bretz continued his domination by taking the heat and feature wins in his H&H Continuous Guttering, Git-R-Done Graphics, Reis Garage machine. Bill Crabtree came home second with Scott Hess, Paul Baker, and Todd Anstaett rounding out the top five.  April 16th will be a regular show followed by U.S. Race Gear Street Stock Special on April 23rd.

4-2-10 - Williamsburg, OH - MRP Opens 2010 Season with the Hillbilly Nationals!!

It was a packed house at Moler Raceway Park for the Opening night of the 2010 season with the Holman Motors Hillbilly Nationals for the 4 cylinder Chevette class. With 30 cars on hand all seeking victory and the $1,000 to win feature it was destined to be a rough and tumble affair. Heat races were won by Paul Luers, Josh Francis and Jeff Watson. In the B-main there were 17 cars vying for the final starting positions. There was some excitement in the b-main as Melissa Cochran tumbled upside down on the front stretch. She was okay but her car was done for the evening.

When racing resumed it was Alanah Weis taking the b-main victory.  In the feature event there were 24 starters looking to take home the Hillbilly Nationals Cup Trophy.  As Greg Holman threw the green flag all eyes were on Jeff Watson as he had the pole position. On the start Watson had problems and would never be a factor as West Union’s Josh Francis set sail as the man to beat. Francis continued to lead but on lap 23 it was Miles Tarvin who would catch and pass Francis and go on to claim the first feature event of the season. Tarvin was followed by Josh Francis, Derrick Davis, Rusty Yarger, and Paul Luers.

In the Sunesis Construction Late Models there were 19 cars on hand for opening night and Barry Doss and John Whitney would set the field by winning their heat races. In the feature it was Doss out front with Richmond, Indiana’s Steve Casebolt right on his bumper. As the race went on it was Doss, Casebolt, Whitney, and Wayne Chinn out front. Whitney had problems on lap 19 and it was a 6 lap shootout from there but “The Boss” Barry Doss would not be denied as he held off Casebolt to win the first Late Model feature of 2010 in his Mt. Orab Ford, Howser’s Discount and Garage sponsored machine.

Next up was the Mt Orab Ford Modified division.  There were 21 cars on hand and it was definitely going to be a close race as some top-notch runners from throughout the region were in attendance. In heat races it was Matt Hamilton, Rick Corbin, and Daryl Herbert taking wins and setting the line-up for the feature event. At the drop of the green flag it was Hamilton out front with Corbin in second but by lap 2 Herbert would take over the second position and set sail for the leader. Problems on lap 5 would end the night for Herbert and any challenges that Hamilton might have. Hamilton was able to take home the win in his Diamond Racecar with Rick Corbin second followed by Jimmy Lennox Jr, Dave McWilliams, and Dave Jamison rounding out the top five finishers.

The final event of the evening was the US Race Gear Street Stocks and it appears like much of the same as 2009 as Maysvile, KY’s Jeremie Bretz was victorious in his H&H Continuous Guttering, Reis Garage, Git-R-Done Graphix sponsored machine. Bretz led every lap on his way to the victory with Scott Hess close behind in second spot. Chris Kreutzkamp, Todd Anstaett, and Mark Kaetzel would round out the top five running order.

First I wanted to make sure everyone changes Holman Motors Race Car Expo to Saturday March 20th, noon to five, please let us know if you are bringing your car so we can get a rough count.
We had a great turnout last year and hope to again this year!!

And secondly, we want to Congratulate the Boetchers on another victory.  Great news for Tony and Melissa at 35 Raceway.  A FEW neighbors took them to court to close them down, and they lost.  And then they took them to Appeals Court and they lost.  And they have the same attorney our few neighbors are using.  The Appeals Court ruled in favor of the track after all this time and money.

Appeals Court rules in favor of 35 Raceway against it's neighbors.
Here is a quote from the neighbors attorney, John Schaeffer,

"We're disappointed the court of appeals didn't take steps to shut down the track, but we knew it was quite a reach that they would do that," Schaeffer said,   (Schaeffer $ Schaffer) out of Wooster, OH, is who is handling our neighbors "exaggerated claims," as defined in the appeals court quote below!!

So if you know it's "quite a reach" why waste everyone's time and money???

The appeals court quote, "residents exaggerated the degree of harm the racetrack caused them," that the racetrack was beneficial to the community at large in terms of part-time jobs and a convenient location and prize money for racers, and the fact racing is limited to 45 to 90 minutes per night only about 20 Saturdays per year, made a limited injunction a reasonable choice.

We have ourselves imposed most of what the Judge did in terms of the limited injunction, we try to get done by midnight or before and we require mufflers.

So again, If you know it's "quite a reach"  why waste everyone's time and money???

Well, I guess the law firm isn't wasting their time, and they're definitely making money!!!

Congratulations to Tony and Melissa and we'll see you soon as we join forces with many others who are in this wonderful sport that brings generations of families together on Friday and  Saturday nights!!

The support shown by racers, fans, sponsors and friends throughout MRP’s first three years was just as awesome this past Saturday at MRP’s 3rd Annual Banquet of Champions with a packed house at the VFW Hall in Batavia, Ohio.

In addition to honoring the 2009 Track Champions, Barry Doss, Doug Adkins, Jeff Watson and Jeremie Bretz, the top ten in each class were honored with the top five receiving very impressive trophies donated by Holman Motors and Mt. Orab Ford.

Rookies and Hard Chargers in each class received plaques.  Among the special awards Alanah Weiss received Sportsman of the Year.  Appreciation awards were given to the General Sponsors as well as the Class sponsors of 2009, Holman Motors, Sunesis Construction, Cheap Bowling Balls and U.S. Race Gear.

Mt. Orab Ford was announced as the 2010 sponsor of the UMP Modified Class!!

The Victor “Ike” Moler Pioneer of Racing Award went to the Legendary

CJ Rayburn, a true legend in racing.  CJ has built cars, raced cars, won numerous championships (too many to mention) and this year debuted his new NASRA series at Moler Raceway Park.   CJ Rayburn honored Calvin Kenneda for his dedication to the sport of racing as well as giving out awards to the Rayburn cars.  DARF Representative Jerry Wahl, who received last year’s Pioneer of Racing Award was in attendance along with Bruce Hines, Announcer at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway and KC Raceway Park.

The Molers along with Mike Goins presented the awards.  Al Carrier of S&A Designs presented Championship Jackets, T-shirts and door prizes.  An excellent dinner was provided by Davidson Catering.  Great Entertainment followed the awards by Simpson Entertainment.  Photos were taken by Gene’s Photos 444-1956.

The Moler Family would like to thank everyone for their support and Congratulate everyone for a great 2009 and we all look forward to a Wonderful 2010!!
