“The Lincoln Leadfoot” Lands NASRA Three Grand at Lake Cumberland Speedway
Burnside, KY-July 31, 2010- The National All Star Racing Association would visit Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY on Saturday evening for the NASRA Blowout and Victor Lee of Danville, KY would make a late race pass on Mike Marlar to pick up a $3,000 payday at the 3/8 mile Brandon Hardgrove promoted clay oval.
Justin Rattliff and Wayne Chinn would bring the field to the green flag for the 40 lap, $3,000 to win main event, with Chinn jumping to the race lead, followed by Rattliff, Mike Marlar, Johnny Wheeler, and Victor Lee. The first caution of the event would fly on lap 3 when Mark Walters would loop his car exiting turn two and see his car lodge on top of the concrete barrier on the inside of the backchute, but would be able to continue. Action would resume, with Chinn still out front, with Rattliff and Marlar dueling for second, with Lee going to fourth, and David Webb would go to fifth. Chinn would pull away at this point, while Rattliff and Marlar continued to battle for second before the second caution of the race waved on lap 7 for a spin by Chase McWhorter in turn two. Back underway, Chinn would get heat from Rattliff and Marlar, with Rattliff nosing out in front in turn one, but Marlar would make a power move on lap 8 and would drive by both Chinn and Rattliff off of turn two to take the race lead. Chinn would see his night end when he would slow on the frontchute on lap 10 and draw a caution flag and would pull his mount pitside for the night.
The restart would have Marlar now on the point, while Rattliff and Victor Lee would battle for second. Meanwhile, 17th starting Michael Chilton was charging his way through the field and would make his way into the top five on lap 13. Marlar would begin to work slower traffic on lap 14, giving himself a bit of breathing room from the battle for second between Rattliff and Lee. As the race neared the halfway mark, Chilton would continue his charge as he would take fourth from Skylar Marlar on lap 19.
With Marlar holding about a ten car length, Lee would turn up the wick on Rattliff in the battle for second and would take the runner-up slot on lap 22. But Marlar would continue to open up his lead even more, with a couple of lapped cars between himself and Lee by lap 25, while Skylar Marlar and Aaron Ridley would take slidejobs for the fifth spot on laps 26, 27, and 28, while Chilton would drive past Rattliff for third on lap 28 as well.
The final caution of the event waved on lap 31 when Daniel Shelton would spin his machine in turn two, erasing Marlar’s lead, with Chilton’s hard charge ended during the caution when he would pull his mount pitside with an oil leak resulting in engine problems. The restart would see Lee dog Marlar for the race lead, while Skylar Marlar and Ridley renewed their side-by-side battle, only now it would be for the fourth position. With Marlar and Lee pulling away from the pack, the action would heat up for the lead on lap 37 when Marlar would push off of turn two, opening the door for Lee to grab the race lead, which he would take into turn three. Meanwhile, Skylar Marlar had won the battle with Ridley for the fourth spot and would turn his attention to third place running Rattliff.
Lee would pull away a bit from Mike Marlar in the final three laps and take the checkered flag first and a $3,000 payday aboard his Keltner Contracting Heating and Cooling/Xtreme Style Signs and Graphics/American Racer Tire sponsored #4 C.J. Rayburn Race Car, CT525 Crate powered machine. Mike Marlar would settle for second, with Skylar Marlar making a last lap pass of Rattliff for third, while Ridley would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Todd Coffman, Johnny Wheeler, Chase McWhorter, David Webb, and Arnie Fields.
In preliminary action, Mike Marlar would be the top qualifier among 20 entries at 13.158 seconds and would go to win Wayne Bowen Racing Supply heat one. Rattliff would win Budda Bert Transmission Sales and Service heat two, while Wayne Chinn would win Arizona Sport Shirts heat three.

older brother Mike Marlar.
A star in the Modified division, Skylar Marlar from Winfield, TN out-dueled ’09
NASRA Champion Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, GA the entire 25-lapper to capture

pull away on the 20th lap and lead the remaining six laps for the victory. There
would be seven lead changes in just the 25 laps ran at ‘The Clay by the Bay’.
Three cautions slowed the event, first on lap-16 as Jimmy Waldrop and Josh
Peacock collected each other then both stopped, which would send them to the
tail of the field for the restart. Also during this yellow flag, Shan Smith lost
a rear-end sending him pitside for the night. The next yellow flag would wave on
lap-16 as Jim O’Hara and David Schmauss and Wallace Peacock all collected each
other with Schmauss and W. Peacock all retiring for the rest of the event. The
final yellow flag would wave on the 21st lap as Arnie Fields of Wallingford, KY
would come to a stop, but would re-fire and head to the tail for the restart.
In preliminary action, Aaron Ridley set Fast Time with a 16.214 second lap.
