Jamie Dacus Gets First Career PRO Win at Riverside International Speedway
West Memphis, Arkansas (11/14/10) – Former Track Champion, Jamie Dacus, is no stranger to victory lane at Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) and on Sunday evening he claimed the $2,000 win in an event that was co-sanctioned by the P.R.O. Dirt Car Super Late Model Series and the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Super Late Model Series.
Twenty-seven Super Late Models entered the $2,000 to win event at the 61 year old facility. Current series point’s leader, David Breazeale, started the afternoon’s festivities by setting fast time around the oval to earn the Southern Belle Pole Award for the 40 lap feature. He was joined on the front row by Jamie Dacus.
Early in the feature event Breazeale would maintain the lead with Dacus and third starting, Kyle Beard in tow. The event’s early laps would be marred by several cautions. During a lap 10 caution, Beard, who had advanced to the second spot retired with mechanical issues.
The race would finally enjoy a long green flag run, and it appeared that Breazeale was on his way to another series’ triumph before disaster struck on lap 21 as Breazeale and a lap car made contact. The contact resulted in a hole in Breazeale’s radiator, bringing his night to a disappointing end.
With Breazeale pitside, Dacus inherited the lead with Rick Rickman and Dean Carpenter in pursuit. As the trio battled at the front of the pack, Brian Rickman was making a charge through the pack after having to go to the tail for being credited with a caution. He was up to the fourth position by lap 29 when bad luck struck for him as he made contact with a car trying to exit the track. The contact resulted in heavy damage for Rickman, but he was uninjured.
The next restart would be the final of the night as Jamie Dacus powered to his first series’ win over Rick Rickman, Dean Carpenter, Mark Stephens, and Jerry Buck.
The P.R.O. Dirt Car Series will return to action on November 26th-27th at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) with a pair of events, which will be held during the 9th Annual Possum Town Grand Prix. PRO Late Model Nationals at Wythe, Sat $2000 to win- Sun
$5000 to win!
(Last race of the year at Wythe Raceway- last area Tour event for FASTRAK late
models)
“Bring your lawn chair, expected to be a sell out”!
The 7th Annual Wythe Raceway- FASTRAK PRO LATE MODEL NATIONALS take place this
coming weekend Saturday Sept 4th and Sunday Sept 5th. Saturday’s event will pay
$2000 to win, with Sunday’s spectacular paying a whopping $5000 to win. PLUS the
driver with the highest point total of the two days will receive the “Super Bowl
Type Championship Ring”!
This is no ordinary ring as the 2009 Champion Shanon Buckingham will attest too.
This is one more beautiful ring with the drivers name actually ‘tooled’ into the
side. The ring will also have logos of both the Wythe Raceway and the FASTRAK
Racing Series along with 2010 CHAMPION. As stated by Buckingham as the 2009
FASTRAK Series National Banquet, “man this is really much nicer than I ever
thought it would be”! Buckingham will have his ring on display at the Sunday
event for all teams and fans to see. “We wanted to really make this event
special” said Fred Brown of Wythe. “The ring is something no driver can receive
anywhere in the country except for the PRO Late Model Nationals”.
The event format has changed a bit this year in light of the economy. “Fred and
I have worked on the format all year” said Stan Lester of FASTRAK. “After
listening to the suggestions of many teams we decided to do the race with a new
“twist”. This way everyone has two chances versus the past $10,000 to win one
race show. They have two chances to make a race plus the teams that support both
nights are the teams that will also have the chance to win the ring and be named
2010 PRO LATE MODEL NATIONAL CHAMPION. It is a possibility this would give us
three different winners instead the normal one, of the past $10,000 to win
show”. The past winners of the event are posted on a large sign as you enter the
speedway grounds.
This race has always been a fan favorite with fireworks on Saturday night, then
a much larger fireworks show on Sunday night plus a driver autograph session in
the grandstands. The race format will be completely different on Sunday night
featuring double file restarts and a pit stop on the front straight at the half
way point of the 75 lap main event. There will be $3 coupons available to fans
for both nights action at local area merchants. There will also be a drawing
both nights for the Grand Marshall to throw the green flag for the feature event
along with drawings for a ride in the “Official pace Truck” for the 3 wide
salute to fans as the fireworks are going off in the background.
Look for some rising stars to be at the event with John King having just
completed his first ever NASCAR truck series event at Bristol Motor Speedway
finishing 15th in what most would say is the toughest track on the circuit. King
will be at Wythe both nights in an attempt to become the 2010 PRO Late Model
Champion.
Old Mans Garage SE Touring Championship points are close as David Smith has a
very small 3 point margin over Royce Bray. The champion gets $10,000 for the
points championship so that battle is sure to be fierce among them. Both races
will count toward the points chase, so one will no doubt come out the favorite
from the weekend’s events with only one race to go.
There’s a lot of other things going on in the area that weekend as the infamous
“World’s largest Flea Market” is going on all weekend right down the interstate.
It’s fun for all the family all weekend long. Racing and shopping. How much
better could it possibly be?
Please make your motel reservations asap as the flea market takes a lot of the
area hotel rooms. The Sleep Inn in Wytheville is the ‘host hotel’ featuring a
$70 rate. You must use the code “FAST” to receive the special rate.
Wythe Raceway, Rural Retreat VA (Interstate 81, exit 60).
(Saturday September 4th)
$2000 to win, 40 laps, fireworks, night 1 of the Pro Late Model Nationals

(Sunday September 5th)

Neil Baggett Claims First PRO Dirt Car Win At Greenville Speedway
Greenville, Mississippi (08/14/10) – The 2010 season to date has been a frustrating time for Neil Baggett from Shannon, Mississippi, who struggled early in the year before parting ways with his car owner. However, the past month saw Baggett make a return to the track, and in just his third night in his new #21 Victory Circle Chassis he powered his way to the $3,000 PRO Dirt Car Series feature win at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, MS) on Saturday night.
With the biggest purse of the year on the line for the PRO Dirt Car Series, twenty-nine Super Late Models from five states entered the Topless 50 at Greenville Speedway on Saturday night. Via Southern Belle Qualifying it was local favorite, Ross Camponovo, who blazed to the fastest time of the night in his #18 Rocket to earn the pole position for the 50 lap event. He was to be joined on the front row by Eddie Rickman, who set the fastest time in his group. However, Rickman was in a team car to Dean Carpenter, and after Carpenter had to scratch from the program with mechanical woes, Rickman relinquished his car and starting spot so that Carpenter could use a provisional to start the main event. With Rickman scratching from the feature, Rick Rickman moved up to the outside front row starting spot.
On the initial green Camponovo would jump to the lead over Chad Washington and Rick Rickman, but before a lap could be completed the caution would wave for Henry Cooper, who spun in turn three. As a result, the field lined up for a double file restart, and on the next attempt to get the race underway Rickman would jump to the early lead with Camponovo, Greg Fore, Washington, and Jeremy Glasgow in tow. Rickman would lead the first lap, but Camponovo would jump to the lead on the second circuit.
With Camponovo out front, great two and three wide battled would flare through the field. By lap ten Camponovo continued to lead the feature as Rick Rickman, Greg Fore, and Brian Rickman diced for the second spot. Two laps later Camponovo would get mired in heavy lap traffic, and Rick Rickman would bolt to the lead. During the course of the next lap, Camponovo would slip all the way back to fourth as Brian Rickman moved up to the second spot.
The event’s second caution would wave on lap 16 as Dwight Falcon spun in turn two. At the time of the caution the top five running order consisted of Rick Rickman, Brian Rickman, David Breazeale, Ross Camponovo, and Dane Dacus.
On the restart, Brian Rickman would use a strong run to pull alongside his brother, Rick Rickman, for the lead, and one lap later Brian Rickman would take over the top spot. The next few laps would see several cautions slow the event, and on a lap 20 restart, seventh starting, Neil Baggett would start to make noise as he cracked the top five and began working his way to the front.
A lap 27 restart would be a key turning point in the event as Baggett and Rick Rickman made contact entering turn one causing Baggett to spin in front of the field as several cars piled up in the melee. Rick Rickman was credited with the caution and Baggett retained his position. As the field lined up to go green once again Brian Rickman led the way with Baggett, Dacus, Breazeale, and twelfth starting, Kyle Beard, rounding out the top five.
One lap after the race restarted Dacus was working the low-side in turns three and four, when he tagged an infield tire, bringing his night to a disappointing end. As Dacus was towed back to the pit area, the field prepared for a restart, but the caution would wave again as Ray Mauldin got into the back of Rick Rickman, bringing both driver’s night to an end.
With those two drivers pitside, the field lined up for the final restart of the night as Brian Rickman once again jumped to a comfortable lead with Baggett, Breazeale, and Beard in tow. Rickman would begin to develop a push with ten laps to go as Baggett closed in on the leader. The pair would stage a furious battle for the top spot for the next several laps before Baggett took the lead coming to the white flag. He would go on to lead the final lap to take the $3,000 win over Rick Rickman, Kyle Beard, David Breazeale, and Chad Washington.
The PRO Dirt Car Series will take a long hiatus before returning to action on Saturday, November 13th with a $2,000 to win feature at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas. David Breazeale Conquers Delayed Four Crown Finale
Greenville, Mississippi (08/13/10) – Not even a one month rain delay could slow David Breazeale’s season down as he mastered an extremely slick Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) on Friday night to extend his PRO Dirt Car Series point’s lead and claim the Four Crown Nationals title.
A field of 22 Super Late Models returned for the make-up from the July 1st rain delay, and it was Kyle Beard from Trumann, Arkansas, who was the Southern Belle Pole Qualifier, and he was joined on the front row by Shreveport, Louisiana’s Ray Moore for the 40 lap affair. Given Moore’s track record at Greenville Speedway, he was a crowd favorite for the $2,000 to win feature, but a broken spring would end his night as the field came to the green flag.
With Moore slowing, the initial attempt at a start was waved off, and Breazeale filled the spot vacated by Moore on the front row. At the drop of the green flag, Beard would bolt to the early lead before Breazeale took control of the top spot exiting turn two. Behind the lead duo, brothers Rick and Brian Rickman, began to dice it up for the third spot with Leon Henderson rounding out the top five.
As Breazeale and Beard put distance between themselves, and the rest of the field during the early stages of the event, two and three wide racing reigned supreme throughout the field during the first five laps of the event.
By lap six the leaders were catching lap traffic , and the caution would wave on lap eight for Ray Mauldin, who slowed exiting turn four. The top five runners at the time of the caution were Breazeale, Beard, Brian Rickman, Rick Rickman, and David Ashley, who started 11th.
On the ensuing restart, Ashley would take advantage of the double file restart to rocket into the third position as he and Beard began to battle for the second position. Another driver on the move was Ross Camponovo, who cracked the top on lap eight.
The caution flag would wave again to slow the field on lap nine for Mark Dodson, who rolled to a stop. As the race went green again the top five cars continued to mix things up as David Breazeale maintained a slim advantage.
The race would endure a long green flag run over the next twenty laps, and it became evident quickly that Breazeale and Beard were the class of the field as those two drivers stretched their advantage with Ashley in tow. By lap 26, Beard had reeled in Breazeale as the duo began to battle for the lead. Four laps later their battle would be temporarily halted for Patrick Michelle, who spun in turn two.
At the time of the caution flag, the running order consisted of Breazeale, Beard, Ashley, Carpenter, and Rick Rickman. The next few laps would see cautions littering them with the most noticeable flying on lap 36, when third running David Ashley slipped over the berm in turn four, bringing his great run to an end. Caution would fly one more time on lap 38 as Michelle spun again, which set up a two lap dash to the checkered flag.
Despite bobbling exiting turn four on the white flag lap, Breazeale would pick up the narrow win over Beard, Brian Rickman, Dean Carpenter, and Rick Rickman.
Ray Moore received the GRT Race Cars Hard Luck Award after a part failure forced him to relinquish his outside front row starting position..
After winning three of the four events, David Breazeale claimed the Four Crown Nationals Championship with Kyle Beard and Brian Rickman rounding out the top three. At press time the balance of the standings were being determined.
The PRO Dirt Car Series be back in action on Saturday, August 14th as the Topless 40 will be held, which will be highlighted by a $3,000 to win/$300 to start feature. For more information, please visit www.GreenvilleSpeedway.net, www.PRODirtcarSeries.com, and www.NeSmithRacing.com .

PRO Dirt Car Series Goes Topless For Double Header At Greenville Speedway
Columbus, Mississippi (08/10/10) – The PRO Dirt Car and NeSmith Super Dirt Car Super Late Model Series will co-sanction a pair of events this weekend, August 13th-14th at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, MS) with $5,000 possible on the line.
On Friday, August 13th the make-up event from the Four Crown Nationals will be held. On July 1st the first round of the Four Crown Nationals was held at Greenville Speedway, but shortly before the feature could be run, heavy rain set in nixing the balance of the program. This Friday the program will resume, and new entries will be accepted as two additional starting spots will be added to the field, bringing the total amount of cars taking the green flag to 26 cars in the $2,000 to win, 40 lap event. These two spots will be filled out by a b-main. In addition, some entries from the original event cannot return for the make-up feature, so any additional spots opened by their absence will be filled by b-main cars.
On Saturday, August 14th a complete new show will be held for the PRO Dirt Car Super Late Models that will consist of time trials, b-mains, and a 50 lap, $3,000 to win/$300 to start main event.
Both events will see the Super Late Models going topless without their roofs. Competitors will be allowed to install a skid plate above the driver’s halo if they so choose.
For more information on the events, please visit www.GreenvilleSpeedway.net, www.PRODirtCarSeries.com and www.NeSmithRacing.com.
A strong field of competitors is expected for this weekend led by current point’s leader, David Breazeale from Four Corners, Mississippi. Other entries expected include Rick Rickman, Kyle Beard, Brian Rickman, Ray Mauldin, Dean Carpenter, Clay Fisher, Jason Milam, Ray Moore, Jeremy Glasgow, David Ashley, Ross Camponovo, Klint Byars, Neil Baggett, Leon Henderson, Mark Dodson, Bo Gordon, Chad Washington, Greg Fore, Dane Dacus, and many more.

David Breazeale Tames The Black Ice For PRO Series Win
Columbus, Mississippi (07/04/10) – It’s no secret that David Breazeale is not very fond of Magnolia Motor Speedway, mainly because the facility has never treated him very well. However, on Sunday night in Round #4 of the Four Crown Nationals, Breazeale conquered the “Black Ice” and overcame a bit of controversy to claim the $2,000 payday.
A series high turnout of 46 Super Models entered the event, which was co-sanctioned by the PRO Dirt Car Series and NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series. For the fourth straight night, Bub McCool powered his entry to the Southern Belle Pole Qualifier Award, but it did not come easily as a broken powerplant in hot laps forced him to unload his backup car for time trials. He would be unphased as he was the only driver in the 14 second bracket in qualifications.
Starting alongside McCool on the front row for the feature event was Chad Thrash, and it would be Thrash, who led the field into turn one on the first lap. Behind Thrash, furious battles waged through the field with Bub McCool, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Brian Rickman, and Kyle Beard in tow.
Thrash would quickly jump out to a straight away advantage, and would maintain it until he entered lapped traffic on the eighth circuit. As he began to battle traffic over the next few laps, which was two and three wide in front of him, Thrash’s lead began to dwindle. Lap 15, would see David Breazeale making a pair of daring moves in the middle of the track to move past Rickman, Hollingsworth, and McCool as he assumed the second position. Two laps later the event’s first caution flag would wave as Steve Bryan slowed down the backstretch.
At the time of the caution the top five running order consisted of Thrash, Breazeale, McCool, Brian Rickman, and Hollingsworth. The ensuing restart would see the top running order remain the same before the caution waived again on lap 21 for Kenny Merchant, who slowed in turn three, and then again on lap 24 for a melee involving Jeremy Shaw, Klint Byars, and Ray Mauldin in turn two.
As the field prepared to come back to the green flag for the final time the front runners became bunched together, and Breazeale raced past Thrash to take over the lead, and exiting turn two Thrash pushed up the track allowing Hollingsworth to slip by as well.
Breazeale would drive away from the field over the remainder of the event to claim his fourth PRO Dirt Car Series win of 2010, and his second Four Crown Nationals triumph. Chad Thrash showed his disapproval of the happenings of the late race restart, feeling that the second place car jumped the start. As a result, Thrash asked for an explanation on the front stretch after the race. Series officials maintained the decision on the event’s final restart much to Thrash’s dismay.
Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Chad Thrash, Bub McCool, and Ray Moore rounded out the top five in the final running order.
Clay Fisher received the GRT Race Cars Hard Luck Award after qualifying for the main event, but being forced to scratch with a broken valve spring.
The Four Crown Nationals point’s championship will be determined when the Round #1 feature from Greenville Speedway is completed on Friday, August 13th. David Breazeale currently leads the mini-series standings.
The PRO Dirt Car Series will take a month off before returning to action on August 13th-14th at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi. On Friday, August 13th the postponed feature for the Four Crown Nationals rainout will be held, and on Saturday, August 14th the Topless 40 will be held, which will be highlighted by a $3,000 to win/$300 to start feature. Bub McCool Claims First Career PRO Series Win
(Meridian, Mississippi) – Bub McCool overcame a furious midrace challenge from Jimbo McDuffie and David Breazeale to claim the $2,000 win in Round #3 of the Four Crown Nationals at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi.
A stout field of thirty-seven Super Late Models assembled at Rodney Wing’s Whynot Motorsports Park for Round #3 of the Four Crown Nationals. For the third straight night, Bub McCool blazed to the Southern Belle Pole Qualifier Award. He was joined on the front row by Jason Cliburn.
It was McCool, who got a great jump at the start of the race to lead the first lap over Cliburn, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Jimbo McDuffie, and Chad Thrash. As McCool jumped to the early lead Hollingsworth and McDuffie began to battle side by side for the second spot as various two and three wide battles reigned supreme through the field.
By lap three Cliburn disposed of Hollingsworth in the battle for the second spot as he found himself ten car lengths behind the leader. With McCool maintaining the lead, the first several laps would see great racing throughout the field, and by lap 8, McCool was already entering lapped traffic.
With the leaders working lapped traffic, it was David Breazeale, who was on the move, and by the time that the event’s lone caution flew on lap 15 as Bradley Price rolled to a stop in turn three. The caution eliminated McCool’s large lead with Cliburn, McDuffie, Hollingsworth, and Breazeale making up the top five in the running order.
Total chaos would ensue on the restart as the field flared three and even four wide for position with the green flag in the air. McDuffie raced past Cliburn for second as Cliburn began to fade. With McCool on the hub and McDuffie on the cushion the duo raced furiously for the lead as Breazeale raced his way into the third position and joined the battle for the lead. Two laps later on the seventeenth circuit, McDuffie overtook McCool for the lead, and one lap later Breazeale would rocket to the second spot past McCool.
Despite slipping to third, Bub McCool would stay committed to the bottom, and on lap 22 he would race past Breazeale and McDuffie to return to the lead. He would never relinquish it as he went on to lead the remaining laps en route to his first win of the 2010 season in his #57J Victory Circle Chassis. Breazeale, Hollingsworth, Chad Thrash, and McDuffie rounded out the top five.
Round #4 of the Four Crown Nationals will be held on Sunday, July 4th at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. For more information, please visit www.MagnoliaMotorSpeedway.net, www.PRODirtcarSeries.com, and www.NeSmithRacing.com .

David Breazeale Rides To PRO Tour Win in Four Crown Nationals Second Round
Winona, Mississippi (07/02/10) – David Breazeale from Four Corners, Mississippi powered his #54 Henderson Motorsports Mastersbilt to his third PRO Dirt Car Series Super Late Model win of the 2010 season on Friday night at Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona, Mississippi in Round #2 of the Four Crown Nationals.
Thirty-one Super Late Models converged on the 1/3 mile, Central Mississippi Speedway on Friday night for the second round of the Four Crown Nationals, which is being co-sanctioned by the PRO Dirt Car Super Late Model Series and the Nesmith Super Dirt Car Super Late Model Series.
In Southern Belle Pole Qualifying it was déjà vu as Bub McCool blazed to the fast time with Kyle Beard joining him on the front row for the 40 lap feature after setting fast time in his own group. As the race went green, Beard jumped to the lead with McCool, third starting Breazeale, and Dean Carpenter in pursuit. Just one lap would be completed before the caution flag flew for Ray Moore, who made solid contact with an infield tire in turn two. Moore would keep rolling, but the caution would fly as several cars checked up to avoid him, and as a result Moore would be credited with the caution and sent to the tail of the field with heavy body damage.
On the ensuing restart, Beard would find himself under fire from McCool and Breazeale for the top spot as the second and third place runners began to stage a furious battle for the runner-up spot.
Lap 4 would see back-to-back cautions wave as first debris in turn one drew the yellow flag, and then on the next restart, Bo Gordon would get spun in turns three and four bringing his night to a disappointing early end.
The third attempt to vacate lap 4 would be successful as Beard maintained a narrow advantage with McCool and Breazeale swapping the second spot on almost a lap-by-lap basis. The race would begin to endure a long green flag run and by lap 11 the leaders were entering heavy lapped traffic as Breazeale moved to second and set his sights on the leader. Exiting turn four on the fourteenth circuit, Breazeale would utilize a lap car to work his way past Beard for the lead.
The next several laps would go caution free until lap 30, when the yellow was displayed for Mark Dodson, who spun in turn three. The field lined up for a ten lap dash to the checkers with Breazeale, Beard, McCool, Carpenter, and Klint Byars making up the running order in the top five. As the race restarted for the final time, Breazeale drove away from the pack in the final laps and claimed the $2,000 payday over Kyle Beard, Bub McCool, Dean Carpenter, and Jeff White.
Round #3 of the Four Crown Nationals will be held on Saturday, July 3rd at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi before the finale is held on Sunday, July 4th at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. David Breazeale Masters 1st Annual Jerry Inmon Classic
Winona, Mississippi (06/04/10) – David Breazeale navigated lapped traffic masterfully to claim the win in the 1st Annual Jerry Inmon Classic on Friday night at Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona, Mississippi.
The $2,000 to win, 40 lap affair drew a field of twenty-two Super Late Models, and was co-sanctioned by the P.R.O. Dirt Car Series and the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Super Late Model Series. After being the only driver to crack the thirteen second bracket in time trials, David Breazeale was the Southern Belle Pole Qualifier and was joined on the front row for the feature by Klint Byars from Carrolton, Mississippi.
As the green flag flew on the event, Breazeale blasted into turn one with Byars, Tombo Callahan, Dean Carpenter, and Rick Rickman in pursuit. As Breazeale motored away from the field early in the event, a great three wide battle was being hosted for the second spot between Byars, Callahan, and Carpenter. Byars would clear the battle by lap four as Carpenter moved past Callahan to take the forth spot.
Lap six would see Breazeale already catching the lap traffic. Seventh starting, Anthony Burroughs, was making noise by lap 10, when he moved up to the fourth position and began to provide heavy pressure to Carpenter for third. As Carpenter and Burroughs began to catch Byars for the second spot, and lap 14 would see Byars jump the cushion exiting turn two and narrowly escape heavy contact with the wall. Despite not slamming into the wall, Byars would slip back to fifth.
The event’s first caution would wave on lap 20 for Brian Rickman, who slowed down the front stretch. At the time of the caution the top five running order consisted of Breazeale, Carpenter, Burroughs, Byars, and Rick Rickman. However, under the caution Byars would begin to experience over-heating problems and was forced to retire pitside.
The ensuing restart would find Burroughs race past Carpenter for the second spot. Two laps later the caution would wave again as Chase Washington slowed down the front stretch. The field would return to green after the brief caution period, but would be slowed again on lap 23 as Jay Burchfield and Ray Mauldin made contact down the front stretch.
The next restart would prove to be the final one of the night as Breazeale once again drove away from the start as Carpenter retook the second position from Burroughs. The running order in the top five would remain the same for the rest of the event as David Breazeale claimed his second tour triumph of 2010 with Carpenter, Burroughs, Rickman, and Wade Byars rounding out the top five.
Klint Byars was the recipient of the GRT Race Cars Hard Luck Award after being forced to relinquish his fourth position at the race’s midway point with overheating problems.
Shane Stephens was the recipient of the American Race Tires Hard Charger Award for advancing more positions (10) than any other driver in the main event.
The P.R.O. Dirt Car Series will now take a brief hiatus before returning to action over the course of the July 4th weekend with the Four Crown Nationals, which will see the tour tear a path of mayhem through Mississippi with events at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, MS), Central Mississippi Speedway (Winona, MS), Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, MS), and Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, MS) The NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series will co-sanction the four race swing. Rick Rickman Conquers Whynot For First PRO Late Model Series Win
Meridian, Mississippi (05/29/10) – Rick Rickman raced to his biggest win of the 2010 season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi as he conquered the P.R.O. Dirt Car Series and the NeSmith Super Dirt Car co-sanctioned event.
Despite threatening skies, a stellar field of thirty-five Super Late Models entered the $2,000 to win event at the Rodney Wing owned facility. Jason Cliburn registered the fastest qualifying lap in time trials to pick up the Southern Belle Pole Position for the 40 lap feature. Cliburn was joined by Klint Byars on the front row for the feature event.
It was Cliburn, who got the jump at the drop of the green flag with Byars, Brian Rickman, and Rick Rickman in tow. Early in the event Cliburn and Brian Rickman would swap the lead before Rick Rickman joined the fray and made a daring slide job on his brother, Brian, to take over the top spot. Rick Rickman would never relinquish it.
Rick Rickman took the $2,000 win with tenth starting, Dane Dacus finishing second. A last lap melee shook up the final rundown with 5th running Brian Rickman getting the worst of the accident as his car was crippled in turn three coming to the checkered flag. The balance of the top five at the finish line consisted of Jason Cliburn, David Breazeale, and Klint Byars.
Brian Rickman was the recipient of the GRT Race Cars Hard Luck Award after running in the top five for the duration of the event only to be caught in a melee in the final corner on the final lap.
Dane Dacus was the recipient of the American Race Tires Hard Charger Award for advancing more positions (8) than any other driver in the main event.
The P.R.O. Dirt Car Series and NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series were scheduled to be in action on Sunday, May 30th, but heavy early morning rains forced the cancellation of the event.

Anthony Burroughs started the evening's festivities by blazing to the fastest time around the clay oval to earn the Southern Belle Pole Qualifier Award. He was flanked to his outside by David Breazeale as the deadly duo brought the field to the green flag.
Breazeale would maintain a slim advantage during the race's early stages as Burroughs and Dacus would apply heavy pressure to the leader with the trio battling at times three wide for the lead.
Near the race's midway point, Dacus would overtake Breazeale for the lead, but a few laps later the Lakeland, Tennessee driver would take his #54 GRT pitside with overheating issues. Breazeale would never relinquish the lead again as he went on to take the $2,000 win, which was his first win with the P.R.O. tour.
Anthony Burroughs, Chris Ragan (utilizing a crate engine), Rick Rickman, and Joey Mack rounded out the top five.
Kyle Beard received the GRT Race Cars Hard Luck Award after having a mechanical failure on the white flag lap, while battling in the top five. He would drop to a tenth place finish.
Brett Delk was the recipient of the American Race Tires Hard Charger Award for advancing more positions (8) than any other driver in the main event.
The P.R.O. Dirt Car Series will return to action over the course of the Memorial Day weekend with a pair of events. On Saturday, May 29th the tour will thunder into Rodney Wing's Magnolia Motor Speedway before moving on to Magnolia Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 30th. Josh Putnam Prowls On P.R.O. Foes At North Alabama
Columbus, Mississippi (03/20/10) – Josh “Pedal To The Metal” Putnam battled past an overheating engine and a stout field of competitors to claim the $2,500 prize on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama, in an event that was co-sanctioned by the P.R.O. Dirt Car Super Late Model Series and the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Super Late Model Series.
Twenty-six entries converged on the ¼ mile oval, which is appropriately tabbed “Alabama’s Action Track”. In Southern Belle qualifying, Josh Putnam of Killen, Alabama blazed to fast time with a lap of 13.393 seconds around the clay oval in his #212 Pierce Race Car/Performance Connection Racing Engine Super Late Model, which was over ten tenths of a second faster than his nearest competitor. He was joined on the front row for the 40 lap feature by Brian Rickman of Columbus, Mississippi in his #WFO Mastersbilt.
As the event got underway Putnam and Rickman battled side by side for the lead with Rickman narrowly leading the first lap over Putnam, Rick Rickman, Kyle Beard, and David Breazeale.
As the field battled two and three wide around the clay oval, the caution flag would wave on the second circuit for debris on the track. On the ensuing restart, Rick Rickman drove past Putnam for the second position. The field would only complete one lap before the caution flag flew again for a spinning Jeremy Glasgow, who had a tire going flat.
At the time of the caution the top five running order consisted of Brian Rickman, Rick Rickman, Josh Putnam, David Breazeale, and Kyle Beard.
Over the next few laps the field would endure a few cautions for various spins before finally hitting a long green flag run that included Josh Putnam using the high groove to rocket past the Rickman brothers to move from the third spot to the lead on the seventh circuit. Things would not be coming easy for Putnam though as his car began to show evidence of smoke with an overheating engine by lap 10.
With Putnam out front, Brian and Rick Rickman battled side by side for the second position for a few laps before David Breazeale joined the fray on lap 12, and ultimately moved past Brian Rickman for the third spot a few laps later. As the field approached the midway point, the leaders were closing in on lapped traffic, as several drivers had begun to work their way to the front, which included 16th starting Eric Cooley, who was up to the 9th position at lap 20.
Caution flew again on lap 23, and near-disaster struck for the leader, Putnam, as his over-heating car stalled on the front straightaway during the caution period. Putnam was finally able to get his car back rolling again as he assumed the lead ahead of Rick Rickman, Breazeale, Brian Rickman, and Ronnie Johnson.
As the race went green for the final time, Breazeale raced past Rick Rickman for second and set his sights on the leader. Breazeale would chase Putnam through the cushion and lapped traffic for the remainder of the race, but was unable to catch the leader.
Putnam claimed his first win of the season over Breazeale, Rick Rickman, Ronnie Johnson, and Anthony Burroughs.
In victory lane an emotional Putnam thanked his crew, sponsors, and fans, who have supported his career. He went on to say that “with the direction that his program is headed now that he feels that there will be more wins to come in 2010!”
Eric Cooley powered his #33c Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/525 Spec Motor Super Late Model to the American Race Tires Hard Charger Award after advancing from his 16th starting position to a 6th place finish.
Josh Putnam was the recipient of the Hoosier Race Tires Top Performer Award for his win.

Chris Wall Claims Wild P.R.O. Series Opener
Columbus, Mississippi (03/13/10) – “The Intimagator” Chris Wall from Holden, Louisiana rocketed his way to the $2,000 victory in the wildly exciting debut of the Promoters Racing Organization (P.R.O.) Super Late Model Dirt Car Series on Saturday night at Columbus Speedway.
Thirty-Eight Super Late Models, representing six states entered the event at the 1/3 mile, high-banked oval. Columbus Speedway is tabbed the “Baddest Bullring in the South,” and on Saturday night it once again validated its name in an event that saw several different leaders along with three and four wide racing throughout the night.
Bub McCool from Vicksburg, Mississippi started the evening’s festivities by setting fast time around the clay oval to earn the Southern Belle Pole Position for the 40 lap feature. McCool was joined on the front row for the main event by Ronnie Lee Hollingsworth from Northport, Alabama. As the feature went green, Bub McCool blasted to the lead with Hollingsworth, Billy Moyer Jr., William Thomas, and Klint Byars in tow.
During the opening rounds the top three cars would battle three wide for the lead with McCool maintaining a slim advantage. By the third lap, Hollingsworth was applying heavy pressure to McCool for the lead, and the duo would swap the lead several times over the next few laps as McCool worked the extreme highside of the track with Hollingsworth working the middle of the track. Entering turn one on lap 7, McCool would make a daring move in lapped traffic, which sent him skating toward the wall. He would recover, but not before Hollingsworth bolted to the lead.
By lap 10, the leaders were engaged in heavy lapped traffic as 11th starting Chris Wall cracked the top three, and began to reel in the front-runners. Five laps later, Wall would use the low-line to race past McCool for the second position.
The first caution of the event would fly on lap 20 when Dean Carpenter climbed the turn two wall. Carpenter would be able to continue as he joined the back of the pack. At the time of the caution the top five running order consisted of Hollingsworth, Wall, McCool, David Breazeale, and William Thomas.
On the ensuing double file restart, Bub used the highside to rocket past Wall and Hollingsworth to take the lead as the crowd came to their feet. Four laps later, Wall would race past Hollingsworth, who had begun to fade with mechanical woes on the front of his mount. With Wall on the hub and McCool on the extreme high-side, the lead duo battled for the lead for the next four laps before Wall took the lead on lap 27. One lap later McCool would retake possession of the top spot, but his reign at the front would come to an end on lap 29, when contact with the backstretch wall bent the rearend, bringing his night to an end.
As the field prepared to restart for the final time Wall was the leader with Hollingsworth, Burroughs, Breazeale, and Thrash (started 16th) rounding out the top five. On the restart Burroughs moved past Hollingsworth for second as Chad Thrash moved to the fourth spot. One lap later, Thrash raced past Hollingsworth for second as Wall built a straightaway lead on the field.
The remainder of the event went caution free with Wall claiming the win over Chad Thrash, Anthony Burroughs, David Breazeale, and Dane Dacus.

P.R.O. Dirt Car Series Launches Website; Releases Schedule
Columbus, MS (1/17/10) – The newly formed Promoters Racing Organization (P.R.O.) Super Late Model tour is proud to announce it’s tentative 2010 schedule as well as the launch of its brand new website at www.PRODirtCarSeries.com .
Keep On Keeping On.........Definitely a simple enough statement to most people, but for the Promoters Racing Organization (P.R.O.) Super Late Model tour it best describes the goal of its forefathers. It's no secret that over the past decade that Super Late Model racing has faced many hardships not only in the Southeast, but across the entire country. Track owners claim that they can't afford to run Super Late Models and Super Late Model drivers complain that they can't afford to run for the purses offered by the track owners. As a result, some of the top tracks in the country have gone without one of the most popular divisions, while several others that have continued to run the division are close to giving up the fight.
In the Mississippi and Alabama area, a group of four individuals, Mike Mauldin, Johnny Stokes, Rodney Wing, and Mike Vaughn have decided to do something to preserve Super Late Models in the area. Thus was born the P.R.O. Super Late Model tour, which offers Super Late Model purses that tracks can afford and that racer's can afford to fund their programs on as well. The goal of the series is to have 10-14 races in its inaugural season to allow drivers race at tracks within a reasonable proximity of their home bases. In addition, the tour simultaneously allows tracks, who haven't been able to afford to run Super Late Models to bring the division in a couple of times a year, while also allowing tracks that still run Super Late Models to be able to continue to do so.
In its first season the tour will visit North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, AL), Corinth Speedway (Corinth, MS), Columbus Speedway (Columbus, MS), Greenville Speedway (Greenville, MS), Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, MS), Central Mississippi Speedway (Winona, MS), Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, MS), and Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, MS) .
The 2010 season will be the inaugural campaign for the fledgling series, but the promoters hope that it is something that will thrive and continue to grow for seasons to come!
The tour will come to life with its inaugural events on March 19th-20th at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama. On Friday, March 19th, a $2,000 to win/$150 to start event will be held, while Saturday, March 20th will see a $2,500 to win/$200 to start event. If a driver can win both events, then he will claim a $500 bonus, making the opening weekend a total, possible, winner’s purse of $5,000.
More dates are to be added to the schedule in the coming weeks, but the current tentative schedule is shown below:
March 19th: North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, AL)
March 20th: North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, AL)
April 3rd: Central Mississippi Speedway (Winona, MS)
May 22nd: Corinth Speedway (Corinth, MS)
May 29th: Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, MS)
May 30th: Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, MS)
July 1st: Greenville Speedway (Greenville, MS)
July 2nd: Central Mississippi Speedway (Winona, MS)
July 3rd: Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, MS)
July 4th: Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, MS)
August 14th: Greenville Speedway (Greenville, MS)
Competitors will also like to note that the inaugural champion for the P.R.O. tour will receive $5,000. In addition, if a driver buys a NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series membership, his best 10 finishes from the P.R.O. tour will count toward the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series point’s fund as well, which boasts a cool $10,000 top prize. As a result, some lucky driver in the P.R.O. tour could claim $15,000 in point’s money for ten events worth of work!
Also, competitors will like to note that starting with the second event of the season for the P.R.O. tour there will be a “Winner’s Circle” payout each night, which provides the top ten drivers in points entering the event with tow money.
For complete on the point’s payout and the Winner’s Circle” details visit the “Rules” page at www.PRODirtCarSeries.com .
The P.R.O. Dirt Car Series would like to thank its sponsors including NeSmith, American Race Tires, Hoosier Race Tires, Southern Belle, MRC Racing Collectibles, Maximum Signs & Graphics, MSRMafia.com, MidSouthRacing.com.
