Billy Moyer Jr. Arizona Bound for Wild West Shootout

Batesville, Arkansas (01/02/11) – For the second straight year Billy Moyer Jr. will open his racing season behind the wheel of his #21jr Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model at the Wild West Shootout at USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona.

Billy entered the Wild West Shootout for the first team in 2010 as he took part in five of the six events.  He would qualify for three of the first four events, but would struggle finding the setup in the feature.  However, in the final event of the series, the $10,000 to win, Bill Cheesbourg Memorial, Moyer Jr. would hit his stride as he started 22nd on the grid, but rocketed through the pack to a strong third place finish in the final rundown behind event winner, Jimmy Mars, and Jeremy Payne.

Billy will look to take what he learned during the mini-series in 2010 and use it to record several strong finishes in this year's edition of the event.  The 5th Annual Wild West Shootout opens on Saturday, January 8th with a $3,000 to win event, and concludes nine days later with the $10,000 to win, Bill Cheesbourg Memorial.  The week's schedule consists of the following events:

Steve Dimmick Coming on Strong

            Seventeen out of Steve Dimmick’s twenty-two years has been behind the wheel of something going fast. Luckily for him, he was born into a racing family. His Father, Tim raced number 11 in the street stock class and also in late models at LaSalle and Kankakee, Illinois. The senior Dimmick gave up his own racing career so his son could race Go Karts.

            At age five Steve started going Go Kart racing. One of his most exciting moments in his early racing career was when he qualified 9^th at the National Indoor Championship against 140 other racers. He continued racing Go Karts until he was 14.

            Dimmick set his sites next on Street Stocks, continuing running the family number 11. He raced Kankakee and Crowne Point, Indiana.  When most kids are just happy to get their driver’s license, Dimmick was enjoying his first street stock victory. The next season, 2004 saw Rim Motorsports win three more features. 2005 added another seven checkered flags. Out of those wins, the $1000 to win Street Stock Showdown is one of Dimmick’s most memorable.

            The Late Model class was the obvious next move for the family, including Mom, Sandy.  In 2006 that is exactly what they did. With an older car and a learning curve, the first couple seasons were pretty tough. In 2008 they got a new Warrior Chassis and started getting top 5 finishes at Kankakee and KAMP Motor Speedway in Boswell, Indiana.

            2009’s statistics show a huge improvement. Even Kankakee Motor Speedway agreed, giving Steve Dimmick the Most Improved Driver award. He also finished third in points; only five out of 2^nd place against 92 other competitors.

            July 16, 2010 at Kankakee was the biggest win of young Dimmick’s career. He backed that win up with six top 5s, two fast qualifiers, and won the hard charger award one time. He finished the season fourth in points, again very close to finishing third out of 101 drivers. He also had top 15 finishes at Vermillion County Speedway and at Fairbury.

            Steve Dimmick enjoys working along side some of his competitors and fellow Warrior Chassis drivers. Frank Heckenast, Jr., Shawn Toczek, and Gary Schalmo all pit near the 11 team, they sometimes even work together to help each other. Also, while working with fellow drivers, the team includes Justin Mason and Nick Pateris. These guys work hard and play hard too, probably why they have been on the team for ten years.

            The 2011 season hopefully is with a new Warrior Chassis. A Kankakee Track Championship is the goal for the team on Friday nights. Saturday nights will include more racing at Fairbury American Legion Speedway. They may also travel more, including trips to Eldora for the World, Dream, and their weekly programs.

            When Dimmick is not racing he is working. Either doing his full time job as a Union Boilermaker for Local #1 out of Chicago. Or he is in the shop working on the racecar. During his down time, he can be found riding four wheelers or hanging out with his friends.

            I asked Steve what was special about his team. His response was “their attitude to never give up and be the best we can every night.” It’s that attitude with a talented driver that will carry this team to success in 2011 and beyond.  My side note: if you happen to see Steve at the track, don’t forget to take your kids back to meet him.

15 Year-Old, Drew Armstrong, Launches New Website

Alexander, Arkansas (12/20/10) – Drew Armstrong from Alexander, Arkansas, who pilots the #01a Armstrong Auto-Sports/Larry Shaw Open Wheel Modified, is now a member of the MSR Mafia and has launched a brand new website at www.DrewArmstrong01.com .

Drew Armstrong is 15 years old, and despite his young age, he already has considerable experience in the racing world.  He began his racing career at the age of six years old in motocross.  During his seven year motocross career he picked up several national and regional championships.  In 2010, he moved to the Open Wheel Modified ranks and enjoyed a great season, which saw him claim the IMCA Arkansas State Championship. He also finished second in the rookie battle in the IMCA Central Region and finished 10th in the national IMCA point standings.

Travis Senter Jr. Preparing for Australian Invasion

Osceola, Arkansas (12/20/10) – After traveling to Australia in 2006/2007 and fighting his way to a Oval Express Formula 500 Championship, Travis picked up a second title during the 2008/2009 campaign.  With the hopes to claim his third title, Senter Jr. is currently en route to Australia as he looks to pick up the 2010/2011 Oval Express Formula 500 Super Series Championship.

In two ventures “down under” Travis’ record has nothing short of phenomenal.  In 13 starts he has claimed six wins, twelve top five finishes, and only one finish outside the top ten (12^th place).  In addition, despite only competing in Australia for two weeks in 2008/2009 he was voted as the 2008/2009 Top Australian Mini Sprint driver. He also has two championships to show for his efforts, and he hopes by the time that January 9^th, 2011 arrives he can boast another title.

The 2010/2011 Oval Express Formula 500 Super Series is highlighted by eight races in ten days pitting Australia’s top drivers against some of the top drivers from the United States.  Travis will be piloting a team car to his good friend and Aussie, Steve Caunt.  Even though he will be competing on tracks that he has little or no experience at, he will at least be in the familiar confines of a #22 Stallard that he piloted earlier in the season before shipping it to Australia to be used by Caunt.

The series officially opens on Thursday, December 30^th, 2010 at Western Speedway in Hamilton.  The tour will criss-cross Australia for the next nine days before hosting the Grand Final at Sungold Stadium in Warnambool on Sunday, January 9^th, 2011.

2010, One Giant Leap for MoonMan

As the year comes to an end, much work is yet to be done in preparation for 2011. But to move forward most race teams must reflect on the success and failures of the 2010 season. The MoonMan Organization is one of those teams hoping to build on the success of the past season.

Plagued with bad luck most of the season the final tallies are not really too bad. In 72 starts the 1 team had 28 top 10s, 12 top 5s and a win occurring in mid- October. A very emotional win at Kankakee, Illinois and the first win with the crate motor. After the victory an excited Moon showered the front stretch crowd with dirt while doing donuts.

Motor problems and crashes made a good season become just an okay season, says car owner and sponsor Alana Jones. Moon’s most dramatic wreck took place at Mighty Macon, Illinois. A rollover crash left the team to repair the car but later made it into the feature.

During the off-season Moon returns to his “talk show” on www.allamericanracetalk.com. The second part of the show season shows a more serious side to Jim Moon. Ask the MoonMan becomes The Real Deal with the MoonMan. The show format will still be answering fan questions but now, different guests will join Moon. Guest this season includes Jody Shannon of the DRC, Sam Drigger from UMP, and Bob Sargent of Track Enterprises. Questions for Moon and his guest can still be sent to all the same places.

Also this off-season the MoonMan Race shop has moved from Indianapolis to Mt. Auburn, Illinois. This move will put the 1 team in a more central location and hopefully make travel distance to more racetracks easier. Watch future press releases for more information.

Timmy Thrash Launches New Website; Prepares For East Bay

One Smart Driver.. Justin DeLong

Not only smart on the racetrack but also in the classroom. Justin DeLong has done a lot of racing since his start back in 2001 at age 11. In the time since then he has graduated, Junior High, then High School and continued on to college. DeLong is currently a Computer Science Major at Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois where he is also in the Honor’s Program.

In 2001 DeLong started his racing career in quarter midgets. He later moved on to mini sprints, sportsmen, then to his current class-modifieds. Thru the end of the 2009 season DeLong has earned 85 wins. The 2010 season saw the Twin City Terror win his first modified race in April to later win a track championship in September at Farmer City Raceway in Illinois. He also had his second top 10 points finish in a row at Fairbury American Legion Speedway also in Illinois.

The DeLong racing operation has been a family affair from the beginning. His mother, Karen DeLong is the car owner and number one cheerleader, father Ron is crew chief with help from Grandpa also named Ron. The rest of the crew includes, Doug Lawson, Jim Morrison, Scott Lewis, Mark Wilson, Mike Mellott, Rob Carney, Ben, Ethan and Zach. We can’t forget Justin’s number one girlfriend, Kayla Schott. For this 20-year-old driver it doesn’t hurt to keep the family close.

According to father Ron DeLong, the family all are very proud of Justin’s academic achievements. He has been able to complete classes while still having time to work and race on his modified. DeLong’s talents are off the track as well. While in Junior High he played baseball for the McDonald’s all-star team in Cuba. Justin is also an Eagle Scout who is involved in community services, which has included organizing a blood drive. On his modified fuel cell the saying “Save 2nd Base” appears, which is in observation of Breast Cancer Awareness. The DeLong family hopes that seeing the saying will encourage women to check the “Ta Ta’s”.

Most people at twenty do not have it together like Justin DeLong does, so to get his perspective I asked.

Justin agreed with his father when asked what he is most proud of achieving, becoming an Eagle Scout. He also says finishing in the top 20 of points in 2007 while still driving sportsmen. He added being voted the fan favorite in 2008 and 2009 (and leading this year) on the web page midwestdirttrackfacts.com makes him proud.

Married with children while continuing racing either professionally or as a hobby is where DeLong sees himself in his five and ten year plans. Of course with his college degree or maybe two. Something most people do not know about him, he is extremely shy.

DeLong has been a big fan of local late model driver Joe Harlan since he was a kid. He also looks up to fellow modified driver Jeff Leka. Both drivers can be found at Justin’s favorite tracks Farmer City and Fairbury where he loves to race. He would someday like to race in the World 100 at Eldora. Maybe sometime he would try his hand on asphalt but for now he really enjoys racing his dirt modified.

Two race nights really stand out in DeLong’s extensive race career. One of which happened in April of 2007 at Farmer City where he won his very first sportsmen race. The other night also at Farmer City in April of this year, his first modified win.

Justin DeLong may be young but his brain and heart are both defiantly in the right spots. An honor student, track champion, athlete, volunteer, good son, fan favorite, Justin DeLong has it going on. If you ever see the 7J-modified car in the pits make sure to stop by and meet Justin and his crew. This kid is one to watch in the future!

David Breazeale Looks To Claim PRO & NeSmith Series’ Titles This Weekend

Laurel, Mississippi (11/25/10) – With the 2010 MSCCS Championship Title already in his back pocket David Breazeale will look to add two more titles to his resume this weekend as he takes his #54 Henderson Motorsports/Mastersbilt/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle in the 10^th Annual Possum Town Grand Prix at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi).

Last weekend, the Henderson Motorsports team cars were in action at Southern Raceway (Milton, Florida) in the $5,000 to win, Topless 50.  On Friday night time trials were held, and David Breazeale locked into the pole sitter's dash via his time. He went on to claim the win in the dash, which was worth $1,000 and earned him the pole starting position for Saturday night's feature, alongside Shep Lucas.

On Saturday night, Lucas would grab the lead early in the event with Breazeale and Rodney Wing in tow. David would run second for much of the event before Wing slipped by on a late race restart to take over the second spot. Breazeale would go on to finish third behind race winner, Shep Lucas, and Rodney Wing.

Leon Henderson also entered the $5,000 to win event in his #10 Henderson Motorsports/Mastersbilt/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model and would qualify for the feature event. However, on Saturday night mechanical issues would cause him to be the first car to retire from the event, and he would be credited with a 21st place finish.

This weekend Henderson Motorsports will travel to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi for a pair of events, which will be co-sanctioned by the PRO Dirt Car Series and the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series.  Heading into the events, Breazeale has a commanding lead in both tour’ point standings as he looks to do the unthinkable and claim three tour titles in a single season.

Ross Camponovo Concludes 2010 Season This Weekend at Magnolia

Clarksdale, Mississippi (11/24/10) – Ross Camponovo will take his #18 Camponovo Farms/Rocket/RPM Racing Engine Super Late Model into action for the final two events of 2010 this weekend as the team travels to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the Possum Town Grand Prix.

This weekend, November 27^th-28^th, R.C. Motorsports will be making the trip to Magnolia Motor Speedway for the 10^th Annual Possum Town Grand Prix.  Ross will try his hand at trying to tame the “Black Ice” in a pair of PRO Dirt Car Series Super Late Model events.  The weekend opens with an Open Practice Session on Friday night.  On Saturday the PRO tour will sanction a $2,000 to win, 40 lap Super Late Model event, and on Sunday a $3,000 to win, 40 lap PRO event will be held.  For more information on the event, please visit www.PRODirtCarSeries.com and www.MagnoliaMotorSpeedway.net .

Eric Cooley to Clinch NeSmith Title This Weekend; New T-Shirts

Fulton, MS (11/23/10) – Eric Cooley is busily preparing for this weekend’s 10^th Annual Possum Town Grand Prix at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) which will see him pulling double duty.

Eric will make the short trip to the “Black Ice” of Magnolia Motor Speedway this weekend, November 26^th-28^th as he enters the 10^th Annual Possum Town Grand Prix.  The weekend opens with an Open Practice Session on Friday night before racing begins on Saturday.  On Saturday, Cooley will pilot his #33c Cooley Transport/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/GM 525 Racing Engine Super Late Model in a $2,000 to win, PRO Dirt Car Series event.

Sunday will see Eric pulling double duty in the Super Late Model and Crate Late Model divisions as he enters the $3,000 to win, PRO Dirt Car Series event as well as a $2,500 to win, NeSmith Crate Late Model Series event, which will serve as the final point’s event of the season for the tour.  By starting the feature, Eric will claim the 2010 NeSmith Late Model Series title, which is his second straight championship!

Eric Turner Closes 2010 Season with Turkey Classic this Saturday

Hermitage, Missouri (11/23/10) – Eric Turner will conclude an extremely busy 2010 campaign this Saturday as he travels to Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri) for the 4^th Annual Bad Boy Mowers Turkey Classic, which will pay $1,000 to win/$200 to start for Open Wheel Modifieds.

Dillan White Launches New Website

St. Louis Native Steffens to Race Chili Bowl with Daum Motorsports
 
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Kyle Steffens has raced nearly everything on every surface. Whether it’s late models on asphalt, modifieds on dirt, midgets, silver crown, you name it, Steffens has wheeled it with the best in the sport.
 
The 26-year-old St. Louis native made his Chili Bowl Nationals debut in Tulsa, Okla., at the beginning of the 2010 season and immediately made an impression. Steffens looks to further impress the motorsports community when he enters the 25^th Annual Chili Bowl Nationals Jan. 11-15, 2011 with Pocahontas, Ill.-based Daum Motorsports.
 
Steffens, a graduate of Lindenwood University who also attended the University of Missouri for three years, has been racing since he was five, earning more than 100 feature wins in several series. The Chili Bowl has been won by some of the biggest name in the sport, including Tim McCreadie, Tony Stewart, Sammy Swindell, Dave Blaney, and Rich Vogler. Steffens hopes to earn that honor and ascend to legend status.
 
“Running the Chili Bowl is an emotional race, especially when it is something you have always wanted to do,” Steffens said. “Being a stock car guy, it is kind of out of the norm, but also coming from the Silver Crown side it isn’t.
 
“Last year never driving a midget, and going to that race was a huge challenge, but running second to Darren Hagen on my prelim night in the heat race really showed I had what it would take.”
 
Racing for Zach Daum and Daum Motorsports also represents a high point for Steffens, as the two have been friends since the earliest days of their respective racing careers.
 
“It means a lot to race for Zach and Dan Daum,” Steffens said. “They are great people and also have stellar equipment. I have known them from the quarter midget days and Zach is a close friend of mine. I am looking forward to working with them at the 2011 Chili Bowl and see what we can accomplish this year.”
 
Daum is the 2007 POWRi Series Midget Rookie of the Year and is the reigning USAC Midget Series Rookie of the Year and also has an extensive racing background. Scott Creel To Claim SAS Rookie of the Year Title This Saturday

Franklinton, Louisiana (11/17/10) – Scott Creel will enter the final Southern All Star Series event of the year this Saturday in his #31 Creel Brothers/ Mastersbilt/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model, and by doing so he will claim the 2010 Rookie of the Year title.

Last weekend Voodoo Motorsports made the trek to Pike County Speedway (Magnolia, Mississippi) for the 14th Annual Jambalaya 100 as 32 cars entered the $5,000 to win/$700 to start event.  Via time trials, Scott Creel earned the outside front row starting spot for a heat race, where he finished third to lock into the 100 lap feature event in the twelfth starting spot.  Even though he lost his brakes early in the feature, Creel would find himself quickly moving into the top ten.  Over the next several laps he would advance to as high as the 7^th position before a broken axle tube brought his night to a disappointing end on lap 53.  Full results are available at www.SUPRRacing.com .

Tucker Motorsports Ends An Era With USCS Fall Nationals

Collierville, TN (11/16/10) – Ashley Newman and Tucker Motorsports ended an era over the weekend as they entered their final event together in the USCS Fall Nationals at Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) in the team’s #73 Tucker Motorsports/Parts Plus/Valvoline/Larry Shaw Race Car/Dynotech Racing Engine Open Wheel.

Tucker Motorsports and Ashley Newman hoped to end their season and partnership together on a high note as they entered the USCS Fall Nationals over the weekend. However, it would turn out to be a nightmare outing. On Friday night, the night started well as Ashley qualified second fastest in his group to lock into the eighth starting spot for the feature event. In the feature, he had a solid run going, when bad luck struck as first a flat tire sent him pitside, and then a broken yoke on the driveshaft ended his night.

On Sunday evening the team made repairs, and returned to Riverside International Speedway for the final night of the event as another $1,000 to win feature was held. Newman fell short of qualifying for the feature via time trials, but finished second in the b-main to lock into the 12th starting spot for the feature. Early in the event he worked his way into the top ten and looked to be on his way to a great finish, when bad luck struck on a mid-race restart. As the field prepared to resume green flag action, the leader's car failed to fire causing a chain reaction wreck back in the pack, bringing Newman’s night to an end.

Rodney Wing & Thrash Motorsports Claim Jambalaya 100 Title

Meridian, Mississippi (11/16/10) – Making only his third Super Late Model start of 2010, Rodney Wing powered the #10c Thrash Motorsports/Tomkat of Chunky/Rocket/Tony Barker Racing Engine Super Late Model to his second career Jambalaya 100 title at Pike County Speedway (McComb, Mississippi).

Thrash Motorsports made the last minute decision to enter the Jambalaya 100 at Pike County Speedway (Magnolia, Mississippi) over the weekend with both Chad Thrash and Rodney Wing in action.  It would prove to be a great outing for the team.  Rodney Wing started the weekend by setting fast time overall in the #10 Thrash Motorsports/Rocket Super Late Model in the O’Reilly SUPR Super Late Model sanctioned event.  He would win his heat race to earn the pole position for Saturday night's feature with Robbie Stuart starting alongside him.  At the drop of the green flag he bolted to the lead with Stuart and Chris Wall in pursuit. Wing would go on to fend off the late race advances of Wall as he picked up the $5,000 win over Wall and Stuart.

Chad Thrash was also in action, but would find himself behind the eight ball most of the weekend.  In heat race action on Friday night, he would fall one spot short of earning a transfer to the main event.  As a result, he was relegated to running a b-main on Saturday night, and in the b-main he would suffer mechanical issues that prevented him from earning a transfer to the feature, and as a result, his weekend came to an early end.

Jan Howard Finishes 14^th in 23^rd Annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals

Marion, Arkansas (11/01/10) – Jan Howard powered his #46 Howard Motorsports/Brim’s Snack Foods/J&J/Powered By Howard Racing Engine Sprint to a 14^th place finish in the biggest 360 c.i. Sprint Car event of the year over the weekend.

After a few weeks away from the track to freshen his equipment, Jan returned to action on Thursday night in the opener for the 23rd Annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals Presented by Hoosier Racing Tires. Fifty-five cars entered the first qualifying night, and Jan would fall just short of qualifying for the main event via heat race and qualifier action. As a result, he would be forced to watch the preliminary feature from the stands.

Jan entered the finale of the 23rd Annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals on Saturday night as a record 123 cars took part in the event in front of a capacity crowd.  It would prove to be a solid night for Jan. Via heat race action, Howard started 7th in the qualifier, and would charge through the pack to claim the second and final transfer spot behind winner, Tim Crawley.  As a result, Jan started 20th on the grid for the $15,000 to win/$2,300 to start feature.  In the feature, on a track where passing was difficult, Jan would manage to advance to a 14th place finish in the final rundown.  Full weekend results are available at www.I-30Speedway.com .

David Breazeale Charges Through Field for Cotton Pickin’ Top Five Finish

Laurel, Mississippi (11/01/10) – After starting deep in the grid for the 7^th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin‘ 100 David Breazeale rocketed his #54 Henderson Motorsports/Mastersbilt/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model through the pack to a strong fifth place finish.

The team made the trip to the 7th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin' 100 over the weekend at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi).  With 73 Super Late Models entered into the $15,000 to win/$1,000 to start event, David Breazeale started the weekend by finishing third in his heat race to earn the 18th starting spot for Saturday night's 100 lap finale.  Despite starting toward the back of the pack, and falling victim to race leader, Mike Marlar's blistering pace early in the event, which caused him to go a lap down, Breazeale would make an impressive charge through the field, which saw him advance to a fifth place finish by the time that the checkered flag dropped on the finale. He followed race winner, Brian Birkhofer, Mike Marlar, Shane Clanton, and Billy Moyer across the line. 

Leon Henderson was in action as well, but would not see his weekend go as smooth. After struggling in heat race action, Leon would start deep in the pack in a b-main on Saturday night, and would find himself failing to advance to a transfer spot to the finale. Gary Christian Makes Trek To Cotton Pickin’ 100

Broken Bow, OK (10/27/10) – Gary Christian will make the long tow to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) this weekend in his #58x Pannell Chipping/LCM Cedar Fiber/GRT/Pro Power Super Late Model for the 7th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100.

The 2010 edition of the Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100 will mark his third attempt at making the starting grid for the $15,000 to win/$1,000 to start event. In 2008, he qualified for the event in his first ever attempt, but fell short of making the starting grid in 2009. The weekend gets underway with an Open Practice Session on Thursday night before the action intensifies on Friday with group qualifying and heat race action. Saturday night will see consolation events and the 100 lap finale. More information on the event can be found at www.MagnoliaMotorSpeedway.net .

A trip to northeast Oklahoma made up last weekend’s plans for Pannell Motorsports and Gary Christian as the team invaded Mid America Speedway (South Coffeyville, Oklahoma) for the Lucas Oil MLRA sanctioned, Bud Purkey Memorial. Twenty-eight Super Late Models entered the event, and in heat race action on Friday night, Gary finished in the sixth slot, which left him short of transferring to the feature. As a result, he was forced to run a b-main event, which was slated for Saturday evening. However, the Saturday portion of the event would be forced to be postponed to Sunday due to a power outage. On Sunday, Christian would win the b-main from the pole position to transfer to the 17th starting spot for the $6,000 to win main event. Eric Turner Gets Top 10 in Purkey Memorial; Cotton Pickin’ 100 Next

Hermitage, Missouri (10/27/10) – Fresh off a top ten run in the Bud Purkey Memorial in the #33x Pannell Motorsports/Rocket Chassis, Eric Turner is preparing to enter the 7th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100.

Pannell Motorsports with Eric behind the wheel entered the Lucas Oil MLRA Super Late Model Series 2010 finale at Mid America Speedway (South Coffeyville, Oklahoma) over the course of last weekend.  Twenty-eight cars entered the $6,000 to win, Bud Purkey Memorial, and after finishing fourth in his heat race on Friday night, he locked into the final for Saturday night.  However, a power outage on Saturday would force the program to be delayed to Sunday afternoon.  In the feature, after starting 15th Eric would race his way into the top ten early in the event before ultimately flashing across the finish line in the 9th position.  Full results are available at www.MLRARacing.com .

Bub McCool Set For Final Event of 2010 in 7^th Annual Cotton Pickin’ 100

Vicksburg, MS (10/26/10) – Bub McCool will wrap up his 2010 season this weekend as he pilots his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model in the 7^th Annual Southern Belle Cotton Pickin’ 100.

After a week spent in California at the headquarters of Victory Circle Chassis, Bub returned to action last weekend, October 21^st-23^rd, in the 16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi). The $15,000 to win/$1,000 to start, 100 lap event drew a strong cast of 60 competitors, and Bub's weekend would get off to a rough start as he struggled in qualifying and was forced to start sixth in his heat race. He would rocket through the pack in his heat to record a second place finish behind Will Vaught to lock into the eleventh starting spot for the main event. Early in the feature Bub would race his way into the top ten before the handling on his #57J entry began to fade. Dewaine Hottinger Returns To Action With Fall Classic 100

Russellville, Arkansas (10/20/10) – Dewaine Hottinger will resume the 2010 campaign this weekend in his #65 Hott Motorsports/Doug’s Electrical Services/Rocket/Kuntz & Co. Racing Engine Super Late Model in the 16^th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic 100.

Dewaine was last in action three weeks ago as he entered a $3,000 to win, unsanctioned Super Late Model event over the October 1^st-2^nd weekend at West Siloam Speedway (Siloam Springs, Arkansas).  On Friday night, Dewaine won his heat race to earn the pole for the feature on Saturday night.  In the feature he would lead the first ten laps before Justin Wells slipped by to take the lead. Hottinger would chase Wells the rest of the way to the checkered flag to record a second place finish.

Chad Thrash Tops Talented Field at Whynot Motorsports park

Meridian, Mississippi (10/19/10) – Chad Thrash considers Whynot Motorsports Park his home track and has competed there on several occasions, but on Saturday night he drove his #1c Tomkat of Chunky/Rocket/Roush Yates Racing Engine Super Late Model to his first ever Super Late Model win at the facility.

Chad entered a $1,000 to win, unsanctioned event at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) on Saturday night. A solid field of twenty-three Super Late Models were entered into the program, which served as a tune-up for the upcoming weekend's 16th Annual Fall Classic. In heat race action, Chad started second and picked up the win to earn the pole position for the feature. In the main event he would bolt to the lead early and would never look back as he claimed the win over Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Klint Byars, David Breazeale, and Jimbo McDuffie. The victory was Chad's third of 2010.  Thrash had claimed a Crate Late Model win at the track, but this win marked his first ever Super Late Model win at the facility.

Anthony Burroughs Set To Clinch SRRS Title This Saturday

Muscle Shoals, Alabama (10/12/10) – By taking the green flag in the feature event this Saturday night at Cleveland Speedway (Cleveland, Tennessee) Anthony Burroughs will clinch his first Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) championship in his #121 Tucker’s Mobile Home Service/Mastersbilt By Stuckey/Wall-2-Wall Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Despite not competing in some of the early season events with the tour, Anthony Burroughs has put together a late season run that has seen him charge to the top of the points.  With only one event remaining for the series in 2010, all that Anthony has to do is take the green flag in the feature to become the 2010 SRRS Champion.

David Breazeale Claims 2010 MSSCS Title With Win At Greenville

Laurel, Mississippi (10/12/10) – David Breazeale piloted his #54 Henderson Motorsports/Mastersbilt/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model to the $2,500 feature win in MSCCS action at Greenville Speedway on Saturday night.

Henderson Motorsports invaded Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) for the final MSCCS event of 2010 on Saturday night. The $2,500 to win event drew a field of 22 cars and via time trials and the dash the series' points leader, David Breazeale, locked into the fourth starting spot for the 50 lap feature. The point's leader would find trouble early in the event however as contact with Greg Fore as the pair battled for the lead resulted in David being credited for the caution. As a result, Breazeale was sent to the tail of the field. Despite being at the back he would not give up as he drove his #54 Mastersbilt to the front of the pack and would take the lead late in the race from Kyle Beard en route to the win, which was his 10th of the season. He also claimed the 2010 MSCCS Championship. 

Leon Henderson would earn the 19th starting spot for the feature via his qualifier and would advance through the pack to a 14th place finish in the final rundown. Ronny Lee Hollingsworth Wins at JMS; Greenville Up Next

Eric Turner Wins in Pannell Motorsports Debut at Lakeside

Hermitage, Missouri (10/06/10) – Usually it takes at least a few races for drivers and teams to gel, but for Eric Turner it took less than one night as he powered the #33x Pannell Motorsports/Rocket Chassis to a $3,000 feature win on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas)

Eric began a new chapter of his career with a bang on Friday night, October 1^st as he piloted the #33x Pannell Motorsports Rocket to the feature win at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) in his first night in the ride!  After earning a front row starting spot in the first night of the Clyde Ellis Memorial, Turner bolted to the lead at the drop of the green flag, and never looked back en route to the $3,000 payday, which also marked his first ever win with the Lucas Oil MLRA Late Model Series. The victory was his sixth of the 2010 season!

In racing, your luck can change in a split second, and such was the case for Eric on Saturday night in night #2 of the Clyde Ellis Memorial at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, KS).  After winning his heat race, Turner started 5th in the $5,000 to win event. Ross Camponovo Claims Fourth Win of 2010 at Greenville Speedway

Clarksdale, Mississippi (10/06/10) – Ross Camponovo powered his #18 Camponovo Farms/Rocket/RPM Racing Engine Super Late Model to his fourth feature win of 2010  in a Weekly Racing Series Event at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, Mississippi on Saturday night.

With his family business being extremely busy, Ross has not had much time to race over the past month, but he made the last minute decision to race on Saturday night, and it turned out to be a wise use of his time as he claimed the Super Late Model feature win, which was his fourth triumph of the 2010 season. In time trials, Ross qualified third fastest to earn the third starting spot for the feature event. Shane Stephens To Enter Mississippi State Championship

Arlington, Tennessee (10/01/10) –After a week away from the track to freshen his equipment Shane Stephens will return to action this Saturday with his #15 S&S Express/Arlington Automotive/GRT Super Late Model at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, MS).

Shane was last in action two weeks ago with the COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model tour with a pair of events in Louisiana and Arkansas. Eric Turner To Debut in Pannell Motorsports Entry At Lakeside Speedway

Hermitage, Missouri (09/30/10) – In Super Late Model racing, sometimes teams and driver alignments change as quickly as the weather, and for the balance of the season Eric Turner will be piloting the #33x Pannell Motorsports/Rocket Chassis Super Late Model.

Kyle Beard Runs The Alphabet in 21st Annual Magnolia State 100; JMS Next

Trumann, AR (09/30/10) – Even though he had to do it the hard way, Kyle Beard recorded his best ever finish in a major Super Late Model event in his #86 Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Samuels Performance Racing Engine Super Late Model in the 21st Annual Premier Ford Magnolia State 100.
Beard Motorsports entered the 21st Annual Premier Ford Magnolia State 100 over the weekend at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). The weekend started by seeing Kyle qualify second fastest in his group to earn the second starting spot for his heat race. Beard was running second early in the event behind Shane Clanton, when unbelievably bad luck struck again as the radiator came loose and got into the fan forcing him to the pits. The team initially decided to skip the balance of the weekend's program, but changed their minds late Saturday afternoon. Despite being behind the eight ball, Kyle would put on a driving demonstration on Saturday night. In the b-main, he started at the back of the pack, and raced his way up to a seventh place finish to earn a spot in the last chance dash. In the last chance dash, Kyle started 13th, and powered his way to the second and final transfer spot to the cheers of an enthusiastic crowd.
In the main event, Beard would start 26th on the grid and began marching forward at the drop of the green flag. By lap twenty he was up 14th, and over the remainder of the event he battled to a very solid 8th place finish!
For the upcoming weekend, Beard Motorsports will travel to Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Mississippi for the 1st Annual Mississippi State Championship on Saturday, October 2nd. Brady Smith Dominates Priority Care Race Fans 50 at McKean County to Cash $13,000

(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) Brady Smith claimed his biggest win of the 2010 racing season on Saturday night, September 25 in his first-ever visit to the McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, Pennsylvania! Brady won his heat race in preliminary action and later rolled off from the pole position in the 5th Annual 'Priority Care Race Fans 50.'

Dewaine Hottinger Records Top Ten in Magnolia State 100

Russellville, Arkansas (09/29/10) – Dewaine Hottinger powered his #65 Hott Motorsports/Doug’s Electrical Services/GRT/Hatfield Racing Engine Super Late Model to his best ever finish in a major event with a ninth place finish in the 21st Annual Premier Ford Magnolia State 100.

After almost a month away from the track, Dewaine and Hott Motorsports returned to action over the weekend at "The Baddest Bullring in the South" Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the 21st Annual Magnolia State 100. Seventy-one Super Late Models entered the event, and Dewaine would enjoy an extremely successful weekend. In heat race action on Friday night, Hottinger would start fourth via his qualifying effort. He would race in the third spot for much of the event before getting shuffled back a few spots on a late race, double-file restart. He would go on to finish fifth to earn the fourth starting spot in a b-main on Saturday night. Hottinger would race his way to third early in the b-main, and would take over the second spot midway through the race, when second place runner, Scott Dedwylder headed pitside with issues. Dewaine would go on to finish second to earn the 24th starting spot for the 100 lap, $25,010 to win finale.

Ronny Lee Hollingsworth Official Statement

Northport, Alabama (09/28/10) – Ronny Lee Hollingsworth entered the 21st Annual Premier Ford Magnolia State 100 at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) over the course of last weekend in the #74 Flynn Motorsports/Mastersbilt Super Late Model.

With 71 Super Late Models entered, and after qualifying at the top of his group, Hollingsworth was disqualified by track officials from time trials and the balance of the weekend due to the accusation that his team had used chemically altered tires.

In regards to the situation, Hollingsworth comments “After qualifying one of our tires was confiscated. We were then notified that we were being disqualified due to a chemically altered tire. We were not able to watch the tire being tested with the sniffer, and when we requested that the tire be tested again, the officials denied the request. We then asked that the tire be sent off to be tested by an independent lab instead of making a knee jerk reaction to throw us out, and this was declined as well, and our team was told that we were disqualified for the balance of the weekend.

For this event Flynn Motorsports did not have the necessary tires, so the team purchased fourteen new tires, which were delivered on Wednesday for the event. I can say 110% that our tires were not chemically altered in any way, and team owner, Tony Flynn, indicated that to the best of his knowledge that the wheels that the tires were mounted upon had never been previously used by any of his former drivers to mount any altered tires. Due to the variations in results and testing with the sniffer that was used, I feel that we were unfairly and incorrectly disqualified. Flynn Motorsports and myself spent a lot of time during the week getting ready for this event only to be unjustly disqualified. Motorsports is a business and a source of income for me, and this entire situation was handled unacceptably.

I would like to thank Tony Flynn and everyone at Flynn Motorsports for the opportunity to drive their car, and I also want to thank all of my sponsors for their continued support. Even though we were unjustly disqualified this past weekend, our team will come emerge stronger than ever before in this season’s remaining events.”

Eric Cooley Looks To Conquer Crate Late Models At Magnolia State 100

Fulton, MS (09/23/10) – After a three week hiatus Eric Cooley is looking to claim the Magnolia State 100 Crate Late Model title this weekend in his #33c Cooley Transport/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer entry.

After a two week break to freshen his equipment Eric will travel to Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Misssissippi) this weekend for the 21st Annual Magnolia State 100. Bub McCool Set To Debut Halloween Scheme at Magnolia State 100
Vicksburg, MS (09/23/10) – Bub McCool will debut his Halloween-themed graphics scheme on his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Roush Yates Racing Engine Super Late Model this weekend in the 21st Annual Premier Ford Magnolia State 100 at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi.
New Vision Graphics has designed the 2010 Halloween-themed graphics scheme for McCool’s entry, and he will debut it in this weekend $25,010 to win/$1,000 to start event. On Friday night Bub traveled to Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois) for the Dodge Ram 50, which was headlined by a $7,500 to win event. Bub started fourth in his heat race, but early race contact with Brady Smith would force him pitside. He would make the decision to not run the b-main.
On Saturday night, the team made their first ever trip to Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) for the 4th Annual Midsouth Dirt Track Championship. The $3,500 to win event drew a field of 41 Super Late Models, and via passing points, McCool would fall just short of a transfer to the feature in heat race action and was forced to run a b-main, which he won to start 18th on the grid for the feature. On a heavy race track, McCool would quickly work his way into the top ten and by lap 15 he was up to the third spot. Unfortunately, just past the halfway point the fan blade would go through the water pump bringing his night to an early end.

Henderson Motorsports To Make First Ever Trip To Riverside Int. Speedway

Laurel, Mississippi (09/16/10) – David Breazeale and Leon Henderson will make the trek to Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) for the first time ever in the 4th Annual Midsouth Dirt Track Championship.

David was in action last Saturday with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Model tour at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) in his #54 Henderson Motorsports/Mastersbilt/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model. Thirty-one Super Late Models entered the event, and Breazeale started the night by setting fast time in his group and fast time overall to earn the pole for the dash, which he won to lock into the pole for the feature. In the feature, Breazeale would bolt to the lead at the drop of the green flag and would hold the lead for the first 46 laps before Ronny Lee Hollingsworth slipped by in lap traffic to take the win. Breazeale went on to finish second. He continues to lead the MSCCS tour standings.

April Farmer Becomes First Woman in Dirt Late Model History to Win at Eldora!

(LIVINGSTON, TENNESSEE) Livingston, Tennessee driver April Farmer made Dirt Late Model history at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio over the September 10-11 weekend, as she became the first female to reach victory lane at the hallowed 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant! After timing in a disappointing 122nd fastest of the 134 entrants during 'World 100' qualifying on Friday night at the "Big E," April dominated the Non-Qualifiers Race to score the popular victory. She utilized the bottom groove to lead all fifteen circuits en route to the $400 win over Jeff Watson, Russ Frohnaple, Steve Thorsten, and Don Gordon!

Although she did not qualify in the top 120, April was able to compete in heat race action on Saturday, as she was the first alternate. After starting dead last in her heat race, the driver known as "Rocket Mom" was able to move up seven positions to earn a thirteenth place preliminary finish. Unfortunately, she was done for the night following her heat race and did not compete in the $43,000 to win 'World 100.' "It is such an honor to be the first woman in Eldora Speedway history to reach victory lane," exclaimed the mom of two beautiful daughters earlier this week. My husband Chris had the car dialed in for the bottom of the track and it was so much fun to lead flag to flag in that race. Hopefully, my win at Eldora in front of all of those people will inspire some young lady in the crowd to be a successful Dirt Late Model driver one day!"

Shane Stephens Debuts New Look This Weekend in MSRA Action

Arlington, Tennessee (09/15/10) –Shane Stephens will return to action this weekend with a brand new look on his #15 S&S Express/Arlington Automotive/GRT in a pair of COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model Series events.

This weekend, September 17th-18th, Shane will be debuting a new wrap from JFR Graphics on his entry as he travels to Arkansas and Louisiana for two events. Gary Christian Resumes Pursuit of MARS Rookie Honors This Weekend

Broken Bow, OK (06/22/10) – Gary Christian will resume his pursuit of the 2010 Mid America Racing Series (MARS) Super Late Model Rookie of the Year Title this weekend in his #58x Pannell Chipping/LCM Cedar Fiber/GRT/Pro Power Super Late Model.

Gary traveled to I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas over the weekend for a pair of O'Reilly SUPR Super Late Model events. On Friday, Christian was in action in the $1,250 to win event as 23 cars signed in for battle. He would power his way to his heat race win to lock into the second starting spot for the feature. He would battle for the lead for much of the event before settling for a third place finish behind winner, David Ashley, and Allen Tippen.

On Saturday, a $2,500 to win event was on tap and Christian started 14th in the main event. He would battle an ill-handling car in the feature and would only manage a 13th place finish in the final rundown.

Bub McCool Fan Club, Facebook, Schedule Updates, World 100 Tickets, & More

Vicksburg, MS (06/22/10) – Present day is a busy time for Bub McCool and McCool Motorsports with Bub criss-crossing the country in his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Roush Yates Racing Engine Super Late Model, while back at ground zero for Mohawk Nation there are new social networks, fan clubs, and apparel lines coming to life.

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind for Bub as he has been burning up tracks throughout the upper half of the Midwest.  A quick summary of Bub’s recent endeavors include:

(June 13th, 2010) McCool Motorsports made the long trip to Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio over the June 11th-12th weekend for the 16th Annual Dream 100.  The $100,000 to win event drew 104 cars, and via time trials, Bub started 8th in his heat race on Saturday night. Despite starting deep in a talent-laden field, Bub would mount a charge to the 4th position by the time that the checkered flag dropped on the heat, which left him one spot short of a transfer to the feature. Via his heat finish, he earned the pole starting position for the b-main event. However, before the b-main event could be run, heavy rain set in forcing the balance of the program to be moved to Sunday afternoon. When action resumed on Sunday, Bub would find the going to be rough early in the b-main before rebounding to a 6th place finish, which earned him the 23rd starting position in the 100 lap finale. He would battle around midpack for the first 28 laps of the event before making the decision to retire to save his equipment, and was credited with a 23rd place finish.

(June 16th, 2010) Bub opened the 2010 Hell Tour (aka UMP Summernationals) on Wednesday night at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana.  With a stout field of 50 competitors from across the country on hand, Bub raced his way to a second place finish in his heat race to lock into the ninth starting position in the $5,000 to win, 40 lap Hoosier Dirt Classic feature. He would enjoy a strong run in the feature to pick up a sixth place finish behind event winner, Billy Moyer, Mike Marlar, Jack Sullivan, Greg Johnson, and Jeep Van Wormer.

(June 17th, 2010) The team traveled to Kankakee Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois on Thursday night for Round #2 of the UMP Summernationals. Forty eight Super Late Models entered the $5,000 to win, 40 lap event. After starting sixth in his heat race, Bub raced to a third place finish to pick up the 9th starting spot for the main event. In the feature he was running in the top ten on the 18th lap when he got into the turn four wall bringing his night to an early end.

(June 18th, 2010) With round #3 of the UMP Summernationals at Cedar Lake Speedway on Friday night, forty-three cars entered the event, and Bub got behind the eight ball early by qualifying 8th fastest in his group, which pinned him with the 8th starting spot in his heat race. However, he didn't let that hold him back as charged through the field to take the fourth and final transfer spot on the white flag lap. He went on to start 16th on the feature grid, but would retire early from the event with mechanical issues.

(June 19th, 2010) Bub was back in action at Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday night with a $10,000 prize on the line. Bub finished 3rd in his heat to earn the 10th starting spot for the main event. He would battle around midpack for the entire event before ultimately recording a 10th place finish.

(June 20th, 2010) On Sunday night, the team made their first ever trip to Wilmot Speedway in Wilmot, Wisconsin for Round #5 of the Summernationals. In time trials, Bub was third fastest and went on to start third in his heat race. He would quickly bolt to the lead in the heat and went on to claim the win. In the redraw for the feature, he drew the second starting position. He battled in the top five for the first half of the race before contact from Shannon Babb just after the halfway point sent him spinning from the top five.  He would recover to record a 12th place finish.

Bub has decided to pull away from the UMP Summernationals Tour and is preparing for this weekend 4th Annual Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania.  The event includes three complete programs on Thursday through Saturday, June 24th-26th, which offers a driver to claim as much as $42,000 in prize money.  The event is being sanctioned by the World of Outlaw Super Late Model tour.  For more information, please visit www.Lernerville.com or www.WoOLMS.com .
