FAST NEWS 12/27/2010

Dear race fans,

First let me say Happy Holidays to everyone. This newsletter was orginally written to make you aware of continuing and new sponsors with FASTRAK in 2011.  However since that time we have been made aware that one of our drivers  has passed away and we would like to dedicate this to him in whole.

Gary Knowllinger Jr was one of our greatest drivers and no doubt one of the greatest people to ever race with us. He was the Champion of the Mid Ohio Valley Region in 2010 in its inaugural season.

My heart is saddened to hear this news. Please keep his family, his girlfriend Heather and Crew Chief and best friend John in your prayers.

Gary Knowllinger Jr

FASTRAK Driver Passes Away

FASTRAK driver Gary Knowllinger Jr.passed away on Christmas day. Being struck by a car Gary simply was not able to recover from his injuries. Gary was truly one of those people you always looked forward to seeing anytime he was around. He and his girfriend Heather always had a smile. I had the personal pleasure of getting to know both he and Heather on the Champions Cruise last season. We were seated together at the formal dinner every night and they truly made the cruise more enjoyable by spending time with them. Thats just the kind of people they are.

Gary won the Mid Ohio Valley Inaugural season Championship in 2010. A hero to many, a champion to FASTRAK and a friend to all.

In life we all come across those truly special people that touch our lives. Thats what Gary did with us.

ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series HUGE HIT at PRI

The newly established ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series was a huge hit at the PRI trade show in Orlando this past weekend. Combined with the FASTRAK booth, tons of race teams were inquiring about the new series. Teams from other series have committed about making the switch to ULTIMATE. Every third person in the FASTRAK SERIES booth was inquring about ULTIMATE super late models.

  Hoosier named as "OFFICIAL TIRE"

Hoosier tire will be the "Official Tire" supplier of the ULTIMATE super late model series. Compounds are yet to be determined awaiting the first annual board meeting of the series.

"I really appreciate the efforts of Paul Menting and Shanon Rush in putting this program together "said Stan Lester of ULTIMATE. "Hoosier has been a great partner with the FASTRAK series and we look forward to them being involved with the ULTIMATE series as well. There is no doubt Hoosier is the number one dirt tire in the country and their efforts in working with us are second to none".

   VP named as "Official Fuel"

Meetings took place with VP Racing Fuels at the PRI show. VP has since been named as the "Official Fuel" of the ULTIMATE Super late model series. Official press release forthcoming.
  Different engine combinations
The ULTIMATE super late model series announced at PRI that different engine combinations will be allowed. The GM 525 engine, steel block-steel head, steel block - aluminum head, FASTRAK PBM spec and Open late model engines will all be allowed. Different engine combinations will have weight and spoiler differences in making all competitive. Weights and spoilers to be announced after board meeting.
  17 races in the books.
The schedule was handed out at the PRI show. Over 1500 schedules were given to tracks, drivers and sponsors. 17 events are currently booked. Only 3 more events will even be considered for the 2011 season. "Its been phenominal" said Lennie Buff of the series. "I called Stan on the way home and told him I thought this would go over well, but I never expected anything like this. People were really excited about it".

Brian and Marie Stewarts Modoc Speedway will host the first race of the new series. Saturday March 5th will be the 'inaugural' event of the series and the first points race. That event will be held in conjunction with the FASTRAK late model series on the same weekend, certain to make it a crowd pleaser for all. The supers and crates will both pay a handsome $5000 to win each with exciting 50 lap features.

Cherokee Speedway will host a $10,000 to win ULTIMATE super late model series the next day (Sunday). That will be the second points race of the 2011 season getting things 'hot and heavy' right from the beginning of the 'INAUGURAL SEASON'.

The new website is currently being developed. For schedules please go to 4m.net under the dirt late model section.

Southen All Stars East and FASTRAK Join Forces to create the 'ULTIMATE" Super Late Model Series

Is it the right time to start a new series? We think so. The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will focus on several key issues that reduce the cost of Super Late Model racing. All type engines for the most part will be allowed to compete. based on spoiler and weight, everyone will be able to compete.

A economical tire rule will be in effect. Details to come forth soon.

Board of directors made up of car owners, drivers, sponsors, tracks and others to steer the ULTIMATE Series in the right direction.

$60,000 plus in cash and prizes in year 1
WOW! Over $40,000 in cash and another $20,000 plus in contengencies in the first year? Thats right. All within a 3 1/2 hous radius of Charlotte NC. The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will cater the to fans and tracks in the SE and with one of the largest point funds of any regional series, its sure to be a hit! Add to that the fireworks, driver autograph sessions, true double file restarts and you are talking about the most exciting series in the SE United States!
   Why the name "ULTIMATE"

Why the name ULTIMATE? Because its just what it says! The ULTIMATE teams racing at the ULTIMATE tracks and venues in the Southeast with the ULTIMATE race formats for fans, the ULTIMATE point fund for the teams and the ULTIMATE sponsors supporting the series right out of the box. THIS WILL BE A SEASON TO REMEMBER FOR A LONG, LONG TIME. Its high time for "ULTIMATE" Super Late Model racing!
Fan favorite with double file restarts!
The "ULTIMATE" Super late model series has been designed to be a 'fan favorite' . ALL double file restarts! Not that sissy Delaware stuff, but the REAL DEAL! Races will be ran under the 'choose' format where starting with the leader every car in the field chooses low or high. In many cases the top five cars have choosen the low side with the 6th place car choosing high and going all the way to the outside of the front row! There will also be marketing opportunities for the tracks as teams have agreed to do autograph sessions in the local area of every race event. Fans will be treated to some of the best dirt racing in the country. Race events will also feature at track driver autograph sessions, fireworks and many other means of entertainment for fans of all ages!
So who will be racing in the series?
A complete list of drivers will be available very soon. Teams willingly signed written commitments to show their true interest in building something together benefitting all involved.

One note of interest is the father ann son duos racing in the series. Take for instance Freddy and Jeff Smith and another duo is that of Trent and Petey Ivey. You won't believe the complete driver list when you see it.

David Smith Wins Old Mans Garage SE 2010 Touring Championship!

Who says good guys can't finish first?

This country is all about heroes. We love um! Unfortunately it seems that this day and time, when someprofessional athlete becomes the nations next hero, there seems to always a story that follows and usually it's one that is not very becoming to what we or our children need to hear. There always seems to be some disappointing action from the athlete that destroys the imagine of our new hero. That is notthe case with David Smith. He is the hero we dream of introducing our kids too. The person we want tocheer for as a nation and one we as parents have a little smile inside of us, knowing that the trueAmerica still exists. One we can be very proud of.

This is not the guy that pulls up in the $250,000 race hauler. He's the guy pulling one of those open trailers that you can actually see the car on the trailer while its traveling down the highway. Remember those days? Where did they go? Its refreshing to see one of those guys win something for a change.

You can see it in the eyes of current Miss FASTRAK Chelsea Smith, David's daughter. You can just seethe pride as many times she gives her dad a kiss during driver interviews and in victory lane. You can seeit in the eyes of wife Dianne as the pride of being the wife of Smith shines through brightly. You caneven see from the competitors Smith races against. Truly a hero to many and now known nationwide toall to be shared with this great country. A real American hero.

The stories in the dirt late model racing world seem to always focus on money lately That no one can win any longer without $5000 worth of custom gas shocks. You can't win without putting on new tires every night. That you can't compete against teams with $250,000 haulers. Well David Smith just blew that theory right out of the water. He did it with $125 shocks, without the big hauler and without new tires every night. He made it work and did so the 'old fashioned way' in the FASTRAK Late Model Series.

"Crate racing has really come in its own with FASTRAK in 2010" said Smith. "I have been racing with FASTRAK since 2007. During the GRAND NATIONALS this year we could tell by the great numbers of fans that were in attendance at those events. Man they were packed! I really think it was sort of a surprise to a lot of us that have been racing with the series for a few years. Stan Lester and the team at FASTRAK have worked hard to move crate late model racing into becoming something fans wanted to see. I've seen them doing all kinds of things from giving fans and drivers a chance to win $25,000 each by a football toss to tv and radio commercials. These guys work hard to bring the fans a great show. Not only that, but the most amazing part is, the drivers are on the same page. FASTRAK will change up the format from time to time and explain to us they are doing so to give the fans a better race. The teams understand and we jump right in and together we all make it work. From the results of the fans in attendance at GRAND NATIONALS this year, I would say it was successful

"I do want to give a special thanks to first my family for allowing me the time away from them on many Occasions stated Smith. "Then to my team including Pat Ballew, Kenny Lamb and Carburetor Bob. Also to Darrell Weaver and everyone at Old Mans Garage for supporting FASTRAK and allowing me to compete for the OMG SE Tour Championship. They have been great people to work with"

.

Smith has proven that crate late model racing is viable wining 19 features in the 2010 season and taking home over $56,000 plus in winnings plus $10,000 as the Old Mans Garage SE Touring Champion, another $3000 from the FASTRAK City Chevrolet National Weekly Championship and add $5500 more from the FASTRAK Grand Nationals. Making his total of over $74,500 in total winnings in 2010. More than proving that racing crate late models has come into their own in the FASTRAK Racing Series.

"I couldn't be happier with having a great driver and person like David Smith as the Champion in the OMG FASTRAK SE Tour" said Darrell Weaver owner of OMG. "We were involved with FASTRAK in 2009 and decided to increase our support in 2010 as being the 'title sponsor' of the SE Tour. The management team at FASTRAK works very hard to stay in touch and make sure our products are recognized everywhere they race. We look forward to continuing our relationship with FASTRAK in 2011".

"Its people like OMG among others that continue to support FASTRAK that makes it work for everyone" said Smith. "It's one thing to get a sponsor, it's quite another to see them come back year after year and FASTRAK is great at that. Most of the sponsors with the series have been involved for multiple years and that speaks highly of how things are done in the series. I give a lot of credit also to the teams with the series. Most of the guys understand it takes all of us to make this work and for the most part, they all work very hard at doing so".

"The competition within the series is tough" said Smith. "I have raced supers all over the country and this racing is as tough as it gets. These guys are great drivers. At one race I could get our run by an eighteen year old and the next a fifty year old. We have a lot of fun traveling from race to race and you get to know a lot of people on a one on one basis. The atmosphere is very different here than with a lot of series.  It really is. People actually help people. I have seen teams lend other teams parts, crews go over and help fix other teams cars, people lending people engines. It really is a team effort. Much like racing in the old days. Stan sort of demands that of all of us, but in a nice way. I should say strongly encourages it lol! This series set out to do three things" said Smith. "Reduce the cost of racing. They have accomplished that. Give local teams a chance to be recognized and pay a huge point find. They have done that. Be fair and not have have favorites. They have done that. What else can a race team ask for"?

"David Smith is one of those guys I depend on" said Stan Lester Founder of the FASTRAK series. "We talk several times a week and I always get his input on issues. His grandfather promoted races for years and David's experience as a longtime driver makes his input invaluable. Not only is David a great racer

but , simply put, an all around good guy. To say just how much, there has been one couplethat follows us from race to race including Eldora and West Virginia. They aren't following FASTRAK, they are following David Smith. That says a lot about the kind of person he is. David will make us a great champion. I am very proud of him and their team".

See Smiths car on display in the Old Mans Garage section at the PRI show coming up in December. Smith will once again making his bid contending for the SE Tour Championship again. In addition he also plans to run the brand new ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series that begins in 2011 founded by the management of FASTRAK.

ERIEZ SPEEDWAY TO RUN FASTRAK LATE MODELS WEEKLY IN 2011; BECOMES SUNDAY NIGHT ANCHOR FOR NORTHEAST

By Mike Leone

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 23, 2010

(Pulaski, PA)...The FASTRAK Racing Series is excited to announce that Eriez Speedway will run the Late Model division on a weekly basis for the upcoming 2011 season.  The announcement was made by track owner Bobby Rohrer on November 20 at Eriez's 2010 awards banquet.  Eriez joins the strong list of Northeast speedways under the FASTRAK banner and will give racers a great facility to compete at on Sunday nights.

"The addition of Eriez Speedway to FASTRAK Northeast could not have happened at a better time," expressed Northeast co-Director Vicki Emig.  "With Tri-City Speedway moving to Friday night action, Eriez will now be our only Sunday weekly-sanctioned track.  Couple that with their location to draw racers from all over the north plus a reasonable drive time for many in the middle section of our Region, and it's sure to be a win-win situation for everyone."

Eriez has held two FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series events under the ownership of Rohrer.  Dick Barton captured the first event in the inaugural season of FASTRAK in the Northeast on June 17, 2007 and two-time Series champion Max Blair won the following year on August 25, 2008.

Blair, who is also a two-time National Weekly Series Champion, and many other Northeast racers are very excited to once again have a Sunday night track that allows them to accumulate valuable National Weekly Series points.

"I've been paying close attention to the FASTRAK program the last few years," said Rohrer.  "The growth of FASTRAK has been very impressive in a short period of time.  The affordability and the stringent teching makes FASTRAK an attractive division.  I've had a lot of guys in recent years ask me about adding the division, and I don't think the timing could be any better to bring the class to Eriez in 2011.  FASTRAK will be a great addition to our weekly lineup, and already since I made the announcement, the response has been tremendous."

"Eriez is a racey track and its small configuration makes for great racing no matter what the division is," stated Northeast Co-Director Mike Leone.  "We had two great races when we were there back in 2007 and 2008.  We were still in our infancy stages then when car counts in the 20s were considered large.  Unfortunately the weather was miserable for the second event.  The northern part of our region is very strong now and these guys are thrilled now to have another solid weekly track close to home."

This comes one week after announcements by two key Ohio speedways.  Sharon Speedway announced weekly FASTRAK Late Model racing on Saturday nights in 2011; meanwhile, brothers Dan and Percy McDonald announced at the Raceway 7 banquet they'll be back for a second season and that FASTRAK will continue to sanction the headlining division for their fifth consecutive year.

Eriez Speedway is a 3/8-mile dirt track located outside of Erie, Pa. in Hammett, Pa.  Take Interstate 90 to exit 8 (Route 8).  Go south on Rte 8 approximately 2.5 miles towards Hammett, Pa to Tate Rd.  Turn right onto Tate Rd and follow until the "T" intersection.  At the "T" turn left onto Lake Pleasant.  Go approximately .3 miles to Sampson Rd and turn right.  Eriez Speedway is on the left.  For more info check out www.eriez-speedway.com or call 814-796-6747.

You can reach co-directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone at the FASTRAK Northeast office at 724-964-9300.  E-mail to [email protected] and snail mail to 4368 Route 422, Pulaski, PA 16143.  The office is open daily late mornings and after 1:30 p.m.  For more information, check out the FASTRAK Northeast website at www.fastraknortheast.com.  Become our fan on Facebook at www.facebook.com/fastraknortheast.

A.J. Diemel takes home the "Worlds Largest Grass Roots Championship" as the FASTRAK Racing Series $30,000  Grand National Champion

By Mike Leone

November 4, 2010                         FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Carnesville, GA...Every October, the FASTRAK Late Model Racing Series crowns its Grand National Champion, and every year since its inception the prestigious title has remained in the South.  From "Hot Rod" Lamance's stunning inaugural championship in 2006, to young William Thomas' title in '07, followed by Royce Bray's crown in '08, and most recently Shanon Buckingham's top honors in '09, these racers will forever be known as FASTRAK Grand National Champions. The Grand National Trophy is proof that they are champions as an exact duplicate of their personal car adorns the top.

In 2010, a new twist was added to the world's richest grassroots Late Model championship when FASTRAK announced Nights 1 and 2 of the 3-night championship would be held in each respective Region with the Night 3 championship once again being held at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, VA.

The Northeast sent the father-son duo of Robbie and Max Blair to Wythe tied with a nation-high 69 points, while Anthony Sanders and Old Mans Garage Southeast Touring Series Champion David Smith led the South contingent at 65.  However, one-point behind the Blairs was A.J. Diemel.  The 29-year-old Bonduel, Wisconsin driver was $10,000 richer after the 2009 season winning the City Chevrolet National Weekly Series Championship, and had his eyes on the Grand National prize after entering Wythe just one-point behind the Blairs.

Many onlookers didn't give Diemel much consideration for pulling off the upset as the number of competitors in the Great Lakes Region versus other regions increased to the nth degree.  Not only would Diemel have to fend off the Blairs, Sanders, and Smith, but also 2009 champion Shanon Buckingham and recent $10,000 West Virginia Motor Speedway National Event winner, Jonathan Davenport, who were lurking not far behind.  Then throw in the top Wythe drivers, who know the Talladega of dirt track racing like their back of their hand, and the top contenders from around the country and Diemel faced an uphill battle.

Diemel though certainly wasn't intimidated by the high banks.  Starting alongside Max Blair from the 12th position, Diemel picked off cars one-by-one and at the conclusion of the 50-lap feature won by Davenport, had worked his way to an impressive third place finish.  That effort in conjunction with his Night 1 win and third place finish in Night 2 earned him enough points to be crowned the $30,000 2010 FASTRAK Grand National Champion!  Diemel would top Max Blair, the 2010 Northeast Touring & National Weekly Series Champion, by just three points.

"FASTRAK has always prided itself in taking input from our racers, regional directors, and promoters," explained FASTRAK Founder Stan Lester.  "With the current economic times, it was time to make a change to the Grand Nationals.  In order to make it more feasible for racers to come to the championship and at the same time give each Region's drivers a better shot at accumulating points, we decided to move Night 2 to each Region as well.  The move was well-received by just about everyone.  It increased the number of participants and proved that a racer from anywhere could win the title!"

The 2010 season was another great year for the driver of the Amsoil/Seubert Calf Ranches/Dan Nolan Livestock/McGlins Bar/Northern Chill/Rumors Bar & Grill/All Pro Custom Graphics-sponsored #58 Rocket Chassis.  Diemel captured 12 Weekly Series wins in route to third in National Weekly Series points and fourth in the Great Lakes Touring Series in addition to his Night 1 Grand Nationals win.

"The competition in FASTRAK ranks right up there with any racing across the country," expressed Diemel.  "Stan, Mary Kay and the group of people at FASTRAK have a great thing going.  The ability to win $40,000 nationally plus race for local and regional monies is simply awesome.  A big thank you goes out to all of the national and regional sponsors for helping FASTRAK put on these types of events and point funds."

Diemel started his racing career in 1998 running Modifieds for five years before making the jump to the WISSOTA Late Models.  In 2008, Diemel made the switch to FASTRAK.  One year later he claimed the National Weekly Series Championship as well as his richest victory in the $5,000 National Event at Shawano Speedway, and finished third in the Grand National points.

FASTRAK Management Team "Road Tour"

Driver, Track, Engine Builder Meetings Across the USA!

The FASTRAK Management Team takes off on a road tour next week to speak with tracks, race teams and engine builders across the country. The plan is simple. Go and see everyone across the country and listen to their ideas. FASTRAK has continued to grow every year since its inception in 2004. "Personally, I believe the main reason we have continued to grow is everyones voice makes a difference" stated Stan Lester of FASTRAK. "Yes our points championship is the largest grass roots championship anywhere, but money in itself is not always the answer. People have different ideas about things and we want to hear what they have to say. The drivers have made the rules from the beginning and we still do that today. Every driver, track and engine builder is important in this series and we actually hear them, rather than dictate to them".

"Everyone is invivted to come and make rule suggestions "said Jody Palmer GM of the series. "We encourage everyone to participate so we will know what you are thinking. Hearing our teams only makes us better".

"There is no doubt that the teching of our engines is one of the most crucial aspects of the continued success of the series" stated National Tech Director Shane Haynes. "Now that I am in the office everyday the level of communication will be significantly increased and that can only continue to make us better".

All race teams and weekly tracks across the country are invited to come regardless if they are currently involved with FASTRAK or not.

$250,000 "Grand Finale" this weekend at Wythe Raceway plus HUGE FAN PITPARTY/JAM SESSION FRIDAY!

The time has come, finally! Teams have worked all year towards the FASTRAK Racing Series GRAND NATIONAL "Grand Finale". Teams from across the country have run their nights 1 and 2 in their respective regions and now they all come together for night 3 and the naming of the 2010 GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPION worth a cool $30,000 in point money. The anticipation could be cut with a knife not only by the race teams but also the dirt late model fans in the country as well as the sponsors.

The event will be held in Rural Retreat VA home of the infamous Wythe Raceway. One of the few high bank half mile venues left in the country you can actually race at. It's not uncommon to see these dirt late models racing at over 130 MPH three and four wide through the turns. "I am really excited about having the GRAND NATIONAL final event at Wythe Raceway" said Fred Brown of Wythe. "Fans are already calling from everywhere including Wisconsin, Maryland, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Canada, both Carolinas, Georgia and Kentucky. I think we are going to have a packed house".

There will also be a huge PIT PARTY/JAM SESSION in the pits on Friday night after the open practice session scheduled to end promptly at 9:00 PM. Fans are welcome to come into the pit area after practice and bring their favorite dish, plus a musical instrument to pay by the huge bonfire with the race teams. Only $5.00 fan admission on Friday in the grandstands and their pass will be good for the pit party afterwards.

Friday Grandstands Open: 4:00 PM                           Only $5.00 admission including Pit Party/Jam Session

Saturday Grandstands Open: 4:00 Hot Laps 5:30      Only $15.00

Go to www.wytheraceway for additional info including motels, camping.

Let's explain how the points work. FASTRAK has a National Weekly Championship paying $10,000 to win and through the top 50 teams in the country. Those teams count their best 15 races toward their points. Then comes the Regional Touring Championships for the teams that tour in their regions to the larger shows paying a minimum of $5000 to win, scored by a total number of race points. Then it all culminates to the GRAND NATIONAL point chase. The points start all over again at zero. Each region holding its on nights 1 and 2 then all the teams come together for night 3. The driver with the highest number of points at the end of night 3 wins an incredible $30,000 in cash to be awarded at the national point banquet. That's plus a purse on night three to boot! The balance of the top 24 in points also pays handsome amounts including 2nd $20,000, 3rd $10,000, and so forth all the way to $1000 for 24th. The total of point monies makes it the single largest point grass roots championship in the entire world.

Go to www.fastrakracing.com and look under the points tab, then Grand Nationals for a complete list of drivers and points from across the country.

(Mineral Wells,WV) The Dirt Track World Championship as never ever had Crate Late Model races a part of the recent 29 years of the Historic Weekend of racing that is held around Mid October at some of the Premier Dirt Tracks in the USA but that all changed when Carl Short kicked off his Third Century event going back to "The Speedplant" West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells,WV for the 2nd time ever for the DTWC but with Crates and the "Premier Crate Late Model Series in the Country" was given the call to be a part of this Historic event simply called the DTWC in short and the FASTRAK Racing Series had $10,000 dollars going to the winner for the 1st edition of Crates Racing at the 30th Annual Carl Short's Dirt Track World Championship and Jonathon Davenport after having his cape shook at Modoc,SC the week before had it tightened and simply dominated making 1st time history when it was said and done!!

47 FASTRAK Racing Series Crate Late Models rung the bell to challenge for the $10,000 pay day and part of the Historic weekend that went with the Super Late Models Racing for $50,000 to the winner which in the end was won for the 1st time by the Jacksonville,FL driver Earl Pearson Jr. but in the same token a few of the Super Drivers also answered the call to compete for the Crate History event for the first time after 47 drivers signed in and after 4 Rounds of group Qualifying which the man that was the quickest was the #14 from Greensburg,PA Dan Angelcchio with a time around the 22 degree 5/8th mile track at 21.248sec and then breaking them down into 4 heats taking the Top 4 to the A-Main and the 2 B-Main taking 4 more the 24 field was set to make history after the always impressive 4-wide salute the packed house frozen crowd was quickly rejuvenated and filled with expectation as the FASTRAK Racing Series was apart to break new barriers with the Dirt Track World Championships!!

Heres the Starting A-Main Line Up for 50 Lapper Paying $10,000 to the winner!!

Everyone else done but FASTRAK Racing Series thanks them for Coming to the Event at the West Virginia Motor Speedway and helping to make History with FASTRAK racing for the first time at the 30th Annual Carl Short's Dirt Track World Championship!!

(Drivers Done after B-Mains)#38k Gary Knollinger,#5m Ron Slavic,#KC44 KC Burdett,#1greek Dan Greek Karalagas,#100 Mike Whorton,#83 Jacob Lash,#95 Nathan Harrison,#98 Tom Copeland,#38 Kevin Colston,#K2 Kris Southern, #15 Mark Moats Jr.,#1X1 Sonny Conley,#51 Tyler Carpenter,#115 Zack Dohmn,#00 Josh Holtzgraver,#28 Aaron Barley,#45 Eddie Hambrick,#27 Justin Hirt and #2 Frankie Johnston

Now the race was pretty simple everyone on the front 2 rows were kinda anxious to get going and after one unsuccessful attempt at the Original Green the field was Doubled Up to go at it again and go 2 was a successful one.

As the 24 crate beasts kicked the left front wheels and hit the high banks in turn #1 one the holeshot went to car #14 Dan Angelcchio however they were getting dicey with Schiltz,Davenport,Smith and others and finally the BIG ONE that simply Blocked the Path collecting cars from Position 5th to 24th as WoO's Announcer Rick Eshulman called it broke exiting the back chute and entering turn 3 and it was a wreck that collected about 15 cars but these drivers mentioned now were either having help to the pits by a hook, rolll back or limped their battered machine to their pit area on their own and continued race wanna inform you before the wreck rundown that no laps were complete Original Restart for the 3rd time. Drivers involved in the BIG ONE were #24 Schiltz,#8b Mark Banal,#2h Shane Hitt,#100w Bud Watson,#79 Sammy Stile,#77 Joel Prosser,#6 Mike Faykus,#11 Jesse Wisecarver,#32 Kenny Peeples Jr.,#18 Chris Parsons and the #17c of Steve Cooke. After the clean up of the big one the field got the green and the race was officially underway and were able to keep green for a 5 laps before the final caution of the race. Now after the incident in turn 3 that involved around 15cars in some sort or fashion the allowed 4th place starter #49 Jonathon to move up to the outside front row for the green and on the holeshot Angelcchio stuck in deep but exiting turn 2 on two the backstraightaway Davenport jumped out to a commanding lead and can I just say began to dissect the field as an insect does his prey the main course back marker cars picked off one by one and he did just that went he jumped out in front. Yellow rag went up for the 2nd and final time in the A-Main when #89 of Cradance Motts just lost control his Rocket entering turn 1 looped around on his own and then violently walloped the concrete outside retaining wall but collected innocent bystander and driver trying to shake off the cobwebs from being involved in the Big One and rallying back to mount a charge #17c Mount Airy,NC's Steve Cooke that pretty much ened both their nights. We now jump to the halfway and you guessed it "Superman" in the Barry Wright house car was just blistering the field the 2nd place man #11 David Smith was at least 2 corners separating the two and at the crossed flags of the race Davenport had already up to 6th place a lap down or more and he wasn't stopping from but the story will now cause it was an Open Book Shut case where Davenport got rattled in the Modoc,SC race #2 of the Grand Natl's he was ready to desimate the competition and he did it lapping everyone 1 lap or more to the Top 5 on the track and making history winning the 1st ever FASTRAK Racing Series or Crate Late Model event at the 30th Annual Dirt Track World Championships!!

Wendell Chavis Proves "It's Never Over Till It's Over" At Modoc In A Wild Night 2 of SE GRAND NATIONALS

If race fans or drivers don't believe in the cliché "It's Never Over Til it's Over" come on you've heard it more than just in motorsports talk, but other sports as well and even just everyday chit chat? Well that saying proved true when the dust settled after a WILD race that saw 3 key moments 1) the long Green Flag Run, 2) The Surprising Turn Around and 3) A Flashback for 2 drivers when Round 2 of the FASTRAK $300,000 Grand Nationals was said and done at Brian Stewart's Modoc (SC) Speedway. The 'Packed House' saw a fantastic show leaving them getting their more than their money's worth when the checkered flag fell with local driver Wendell Chavis taking the victory.

32 FASTRAK Pro Late Models made the call for the 2nd Round of the Grand Nationals in Qualifying Blairsville, GA's #49 Jonathon Davenport was really making the Modoc Faithful feel "Superman" having his presence felt as he set the Qualifying & New Track Record as he did the week before at Cherokee's FASTRAK Race 1 event of the Grand Nationals. He did the same again at 17.283 sec flying around the 3/8th mile speed bowl!! Then He won heat 1 to solidify himself on Position 1 for the 50 Lap A-Main. After 4 Heats taking the top 4 finishers then 2 B-Mains taking the top 4 finishers, the 24 car field was set for Night 2 of the GRAND NATIONALS!

*32 FASTRAK Drivers from 5 States Represented*

After the spectacular fireworks display for the fans while the drivers do the famous "4 Wide Salute" it was time for the 50 lap A-Main to get underway and after 3 attempts the Green finally came out and Davenport was hauling the mail the first two circuits, however yellow went up quick on Lap #2 when 4 car incident ensued in the apex of turns 1 & 2 Drivers involved were #4x Danny Sanders,#2b Frankie Beard,#114 Chris Cantrell & 77c Brian Connor all losing the handle but able to get in forward motion after yellow and continue. After the restart the long Green Flag run happened for 38 solid laps of exciting heart pounding on the edge of your seat racing. The longest green run of the race ended when caution fell on #999 Travis Blackwell stalling exiting turn 4 even though Davenport was picking lap cars off one by one and the racing was Fast & Furious through-out the field. Even lap down cars were battling hard to get their lap back and a great 'attaboy' to 117 Parker Herring to go a lap down in the early going by Davenport but still rallied in the end to stay on the lead lap in the end by staying on the rear end of the leaders. On lap 40 with a 10 lap double file restart things picked up wild again but after a three car incident out of turn 3 involving  the 4x Danny Sanders, 57c Lee Cooper & 7b Dan Breuer, the field was slowed and set to gas it up again then things got interesting and very quickly so!! On this restart car 21 Hull, GA's Royce Bray stuck his nose to Davenports left driver side door panel and heavy contact was made by the two both showing signs of not backing down during this encounter. Exiting turn 2 the 94 Hepzibah, GA's Wendell Chavous, made the move of his life after starting the race 2nd being Heat 2 winner. Exiting turn 2 there was 3 wide racing and Smith looking to make it 4 wide as Bray pushed Davenport up to the top in the marbles, forcing Bray and Davenport to back off the throttle. In the process here comes the 94 of Chavous with the 11 of David Smith making it 4 wide at the flag stand !! The The Modoc Faithful roared to their feet rooting as Chavis took the top spot. On the next lap the 21 of Bray showed he wasn't backing down making heavy contact with Davenport at the exit of turn 1 forcing him around and taking Bray with him!! Both cars sustained heavy damage. In an after race televised interview FASTRAK GM Jody Palmer spoke with the 21 of Bray. Visit
www.LighninFAST.com to see that interview. After a final caution on lap 46 with car 54b of Brandon Umberger and the 76 of Brandon Overton getting together off 2, keeping momentun but putting debris on the track it was a 4 lap shootout. The 94 Wendell Chavous was not to be denied even though he had late challenges by the 11 of David Smith, the 50 of Shannon Buckingham and the 421 of Anthony Sanders, Chavis maintained his lead not only to win Night 2 of the FASTRAK GRAND NATIONALS but also the first ever victory for young Chavis in a FASTRAK Touring event.

History is made as crate late models participate in 30th Annual DIRT TRACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!

For the first time in history, crate late models running under the FASTRAK Racing Series sanctioning will be running at the 30th Annual DIRT TRACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! "What an honor said FASTRAK Series Founder Stan Lester. "I appreciate Carl Short inviting us to participate in the weekend. It's the perfect venue to show fans how competitive these cars really are".

The crate late models will be competing for $10,000 to win along their larger horse powered brethren, the Super Late Models as they compete for $50,000 to win. "Running at the 30 annual Dirt Track World is incredible stated Jody Palmer of FASTRAK. Just coming back to work with the series and hearing this news was really overwhelming. FASTRAK runs at some of the absolute best venues in the country and now the dirt track world championship"!

"I have spoken with both Stan Lester and Jody Palmer of FASTRAK" stated Carl Short. "I appreciate what FASTRAK has done for dirt late model racing. A lot of people have set out over the years to reduce the cost of racing but FASTRAK has accomplished it and done so successfully. I really look forward to seeing these teams race during the Dirt Track World Championship weekend. I think some of the fans are really going to be surprised how competitive they are. They were at WVMS in July and from what I hear, put on one heck of a show".

The crate late model portion of the weekend will run on Saturday. The same day as the Super Late Models B Mains and feature. THE CRATE LATE MODEL EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL TEAMS! You do not have to be a member of FASTRAK to race. The FASTRAK complete rule package will be in place for the event. Tires will be sold at the track in the FASTRAK tech trailer. Tires are $135 plus sales tax. There will be open practice sessions on Friday night for the crate late model class for anyone wishing to attend.

Davenport Wins FASTRAK Night 1 in front of "Packed House" at Cherokee!

In an event that had many top story lines, Jonathan "Superman" Davenport won the SE night 1 of the FASTRAK  Grand National Championship. Davenport started on the third row of the feature and after battling Dennis Rambo Franklin for the top spot, took over the lead maneuvering through lap traffic. Rambo backed off a little allowing his tires to cool off and made a charge once again pushing Davenport down the front and back straights ending with broke a driveshaft coming off turn four.

What a night it was! The anticipation not only in the pits, but in the grandstands as well was on overload to see who could take home the coveted night 1 of the FASTRAK Grand National Championship. The stands were full of race fans excited to be part of the championship at the famed Cherokee Speedway. "I was more than surprised "stated Cherokee Speedway Promoter Lenny Buff. "The racing was incredible as were the number of people in the stands. It really was a great night of racing".

The track record was broken on several occasions with Brandon Umberger (VA) breaking it initially. Then David Smith (SC) broke Umbergers new track record. Soon afterwards Anthony Sanders (SC) breaks Smiths new record, then Jonathan Davenport of (GA) settled it all breaking it for the final time of the evening.

One note of record is young Jake "The Snake" Eaton (VA) racing his way into the Main event from the second B Main. Home track Favorite Anthony Sanders (SC) passing 2010 OMG SE Touring Champion David Smith (SC) during the event and finishing 3rd. Huge finish for Dan "The Man" Brewer (NC) starting 8th making his way on the outside of the track and ending up with a strong 2nd place finish. Several time SE Touring Champion Lee Cooper (SC) started 13th and fought all night long to a 4th place finish. 2009 Grand National Champion Shanon Buckingham (TN) finishing 7th after having to transfer from a B Main and starting 17th in the field. At one time Buckingham even came into the pits to change a right rear under caution battling his way through. Young Adam Yarborough (NC) starting 16th fought his way through the field and had made his way to 4th position but broke a hub off turn four headed to the white flag relegating him to 20th place finish. David Watts (VA) made his way from 24th starting spot all the way through the field to finish 8th.

(Drivers advancing during Main event) Davenport (+4), Sanders (+1), Breuer (+6), Cooper (+7), Buckingham (+10), Overton (+8), Ford (+7), Bray (+9), Eaton (+4), Watts (+16).

146 Teams "QUALIFIED" for $250,000 FASTRAK Grand Nationals

CARNESVILLE GA 9/29/2010

Despite the economy the FASTRAK Racing Series continues to grow during the 2010 racing Season as 146 teams are qualified to come. "This is something else" stated Series Founder Stan Lester. "I give 100% of the continued growth of the series to our weekly tracks, our regional directors, sponsors but most of all our teams. Our teams have proved once again that even in the current economic climate, they love this type of racing and have made every effort to be qualified for this National Championship. I'm very proud of our staff and everyone involved with FASTRAK. This is simply amazing".

"We couldn't do it without any of the above" stated Jody Palmer now working in the corporate office. "This is the largest amount of teams ever qualified to come to this event. Everyone needs to pay close attention as we are still waiting for track results from this past weekend. Look this list over carefully as it's very possible if you raced this weekend and you don't see your name, you may very well be qualified to come".

"Who would have ever believed the number would have increased from last year said Shane Haynes National Tech Director. Its proof of what these Grand Nationals have become. This is the 'single largest championship in the world" for grass roots teams".

One item not announced yet is the festivities that will be held at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat VA where the "Grand Finale" will be held during the weekend of October 22-23. It will be something never experienced by fans and teams alike. Much to the credit of the Browns at Wythe, the event is guaranteed to be a huge hit with everyone involved.

FASTRAK GRAND NATIONALS ADDS $1200 TO WIN BONUS MAIN!

Carnesville,GA While most auto racing is slowing down for the 2010 season, one racing series is about to get HOT with the world's largest points championship in 'grass roots racing". With over $300,000 in purses, championship point monies and contingencies, Dirt late model racing is about to explode!

The concept is simple. Equal engines, equal tires, all up to the pit crews and driver, the racing is side by side door slamming, fender banging with three and four wide racing very common for these teams. Who are they? They are your neighbors, fellow co-workers and some of the very best racing talent in this country. Oh yes, as in any auto racing luck can be a determining factor, but these teams have three races to show their stuff as the best of the best come together to determine who will be the Champion for the 2010 season.

Referred to as the "GRAND NATIONALS, this series has become a fan favorite. Double file restarts? These guys have been doing that for years. Trust me it makes for some exciting racing. Different from other series, these teams do their double file restarts under the 'choose' format. 1st place chooses inside or outside, 2nd place does the same throughout the entire field.  In the past the first five cars have chosen to stay on the inside, allowing the 6th place to go all the way to the outside of the front row. NOW THAT MIXES THINGS UP! 2 lap qualifying, double file heat races, double file B mains and double file feature makes it a night every fan is on the edge of their seat and in most cases, not sitting down period. IT IS the most exciting racing in the country.

How competitive is it? The proof is that in the seven year history of the series, no one has won it twice. With over a 100 late model teams across the country "qualified" to come to this event, you can easily see why that is. There are no point advantages coming into the championship. All teams start with ZERO points and have to earn it, race by race. Each region across the country (SE, ME, SM, MOV, NE, NY, GL) has their own 'nights 1 and 2' for points, then on to night 3 where all those teams come together for the GRAND FINALE. Team with the most points wins $30,000 in cash plus prizes one of which includes one of the nation's greatest trophies. Custom made, over five feet tall and an exact replica of their race car adoring the top.

Teams not in the top 24 in points will be eligible to run a separate $1200 to win event on night 3 at Wythe Raceway, Rural Retreat VA. To be eligible for this race you cannot be in the top 24 in points plus you must have attended all 3 nights of GRAND NATIONALS.

Look for teams from WI, MO, MN, NY, NJ, PA, OH, WV, VA, NC, SC, TN, GA, AL, DL.

FASTRAK Late Models Head to Rolling Thunder and Wythe Raceway this weekend for the "Virginia State Championship", then next weekend to Eldora Speedway!

What a month of July it is for the FASTRAK Racing Series. With over $100,000 in purse money on the line during the month, three National events, $6000 to win shows, $10,000 to win shows, $5000 to win shows and then in August FASTRAK returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway at the dirt track. The National events are incredibly important as the teams have a chance to replace one of their worse finishes of the season with a better finish at National events.

Last weekend the FASTRAK teams were at West Virginia Motor Speedway. Jonathan Davenport took the win but really had to work his tail off to get there. In his heat Davenport and Mike Pegher Jr. were in a tremendous battle passing back and forth for the lead no less than six times in a mere eight laps. Promotors from the speedway said it was the best heat race ever held at WVMS. The feature was quite the same as The young Pegher Jr jumped out to the lead by almost a straightaway at one point, then tire choice came into play around eighteen laps into the fifty lap feature. Once again Pegher Jr and Davenport passed each other on multiple occassions. Davenport eventually did take the lead with David Smith and Max Blair close behind.

Next up comes the first ever touring event of any type to Rolling Thunder in Aarat Virginia on Friday July 23rd for a $2000 to win event and the first leg of the "Virginia State Championship". The 1/3 mile speedway should provide incredible racing for the equal powered FASTRAK late model teams. Fans from Rolling Thunder will receive $3.00 off general admission by bringing their tickets to the next nights event.

Then the teams move on to the high banks of the Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat VA for a $3000 to win event on Saturday July 24th and the Grand Finale of the "Virginia State Championship". The highest points team of the two events will receive the inaugural trophy of the coveted race. It will be the perfect time for teams to get some "paid practice" for the upcoming "Pro Late Model Nationals" coming up at Wythe over Labor Day Weekend.

As the teams get home and quickly get ready to hit the road again they will head to Tony Stewarts Eldora Speedway in Rossberg OH for a $5000 to win prize on July 31st for the "Chassis Challenge". There will also be a open practice at Eldora on Friday night July 30th for teams wishing to come. Last years event proved tremendous as Shanon Buckingham led most of the race but on the last lap and the fourth turn Chip Brindle made a pass on the outside and won by inches at the checkered flag. A crash followed immediately thereafter as Brindle was trying to miss lap cars and he ran across the hood of Buckingham and several others going into the wall in turn one. Brindle did not pass post race tech and the win was awarded to Buckingham. The Eldora event will also be a National event thereby giving the FASTRAK teams an opportunity to replace a worse finish during the seaon with a better finish at Eldora. Important for those ever so valuable weekly and regional point championships.

Its an important month as of course the $100,000 in purse money tremendous but more importantly its also an important month for teams chasing the points with Mercer Raceway, West Virginia Motor Speedway and Eldora Speedway listed as "National events". Not to mention running at some of the best facilites in the country including Rolling Thunder and Wythe Raceway.

ALL ENGINE SEALS WILL BE LEGAL FOR THESE EVENTS. ALL ENGINES MUST STILL MEET FASTRAK RULES AND THE FASTRAK FT SERIES TIRES ARE REQUIRED AT ALL EVENTS. You do not have to be a member of FASTRAK to race in FASTRAK events.

FASTRAK Drivers from Across the Country to Invade WVMS this Weekend

CARNESVILLE, Ga. (July 6, 2010) – The FASTRAK Racing Series will invade West Virginia Motor Speedway Friday night to kick off an exciting weekend of racing that will feature three FASTRAK races in two days.

FASTRAK drivers from across the country will converge on the 5/8-mile speedway in Mineral Wells, W.Va., to compete in two FASTRAK Mid Ohio Valley Touring Series features Friday night and the $10,000-to-win West Virginia State Championship Saturday night. Saturday’s race is both a FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Series race and a FASTRAK National Touring event.

Friday night’s events include a regularly scheduled feature paying $1,200 to the winner. The starting field for the 25-lap race will be set by heat races and b-mains. The second feature is the rescheduled main event from the May 16 FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley race at WVMS that was rained out following heat races. The feature field for the event, which will also pay $1,200 to the winner, is already set.

The racing action will heat up Saturday night as drivers compete to be the inaugural West Virginia State Champion. A full slate of time trials, heat races and b-mains will set the starting field for the $10,000 to win feature race.

The event will be the first FASTRAK National Touring race held at WVMS. National touring races offer FASTRAK drivers from any region the chance to replace their lowest point finish on their respective regional tour with the points earned in the national event. Drivers from other FASTRAK regions such as the Southeast, Northeast and Great Lakes are expected to make the trip to West Virginia to compete for the $10,000 paycheck and to attempt to better their positions in their regional tours.

The unique format of FASTRAK National Touring events provide fans the opportunity to watch some of the best drivers from each region compete against each other. At least three point leaders from three different regional tours are expected to enter Saturday night’s race.

Kyle Thomas of Pennsboro, W. Va., will lead the Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Series drivers into the event. Thomas is still looking for his first series victory of 2010, but consistent finishes have put him atop the standings ahead of Gary Knollinger of Wheeling, W. Va., and Shane Hitt of Buckhannon, W. Va.

FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series point leader Max Blair is expected to make the trip down to West Virginia for Saturday night’s race. The Centerville, Pa., driver also leads the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings.

Royce Bray of Hull, Ga., leads the Old Man’s Garage FASTRAK Southeast Touring Series and is also expected to compete at WVMS Saturday night. Bray, the 2009 FASTRAK Grand Nationals Champion, made the trip Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pa., last weekend and scored a top-ten finish in the FASTRAK National Touring event.

The event will also feature the All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars running both nights. Gates open both nights at 3 p.m. with hot laps scheduled to roll off at 7:00. Two-Day Advance General Admission tickets are $40, (Kids 6-11 $10) while a 2 Day Pit Pass is available for $55 by ordering your tickets securely on-line at the WVMS website at www.wvspeedway.com. Single-day tickets are also available. For more information call 304-758-2934 or 304-771-5661. On race day call 304-489-0090.

The West Virginia Motor Speedway is a high-banked, 5/8-mile clay oval, with spacious terraced hill, lawn-chair frontstretch seating or backstretch bleacher seating available, either of which offer excellent sight lines. Plenty of free parking, clean restrooms, and reasonably priced and tasty items can be found at the concessions locations.

CARNESVILLE, Ga. (June 29, 2010) – The FASTRAK Racing Series is gearing up for one of the biggest months of racing in series history. This weekend’s race is the first FASTRAK National Touring Series event at Mercer. The FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series made two visits to Mercer last year, with Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., and David Scott of Garland, Pa., taking the victories. Mercer also hosted Night One of the 2009 FASTRAK Grand Nationals for the Northeast Region. Mike Pegher, Jr. of Cranberry Township, Pa., won that event ahead of Mike Blose and Blair.

The following weekend, West Virginia Motor Speedway will be the site of three FASTRAK races including July’s highest paying event. The 5/8-mile oval in Mineral Wells, W. Va., will host the FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Series Friday night, June 9 for a scheduled $1,200-to-win race and a make-up feature from a rainout on May 16. Saturday night will see the inaugural West Virginia State Championship at WVMS. The one-day FASTRAK National Touring Series event will pay $10,000 to the winner.

West Virginia Motor Speedway is in its first year of FASTRAK sanctioning. The speedway has seen increased car counts at its FASTRAK City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events, and had a strong turnout for the inaugural FASTRAK touring race in May. The West Virginia State Championship will be the track’s first FASTRAK National Touring Series event.

The next week’s lone touring series event will be a FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series race at Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, Pa., on Sunday, July 18. The race will pay $1,200 to the winner.

The FASTRAK Old Man’s Garage Southeast Touring Series will return to action during the fourth weekend of July as the series visits the Old Dominion State for the inaugural Virginia State Championship. The two-race event will kick off Friday night, July 23 at Rolling Thunder Speedway in Ararat, Va., with a $2,000-to-win feature race. The action will then move to Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., Saturday night, July 24 for a $3,000-to-win event.

All of the FASTRAK Touring Series will come together for another FASTRAK National Touring Series event at the end of the month as FASTRAK drivers from across the country converge on the historic Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, on July 31 for the third annual Chassis Challenge. The event will be run entirely on Saturday night with qualifying and heat races setting the lineup for the $5,000-to-win feature race.

Rambo Wins Inaugural Georgia Late Model Shootout
at Toccoa Speedway

CARNESVILLE, Ga. (June 21, 2010) – Dennis "Rambo" Franklin put his veteran driving experience to good use Saturday night in the inaugural Georgia Late Model Shootout at Toccoa Speedway. The Gaffney, S.C., resident led every lap of the Old Man’s Garage FASTRAK Southeast Late Model Series race to take home the $3,000 winner’s check and become the seventh different winner in seven series races this season.

Franklin set fast time during qualifying to earn the pole starting position for the 40-lap feature. He then pulled ahead of fellow front-row starter Dan Breuer on the start of the race, as Doug Sanders also moved passed Breuer for second.

Sanders of Spartanburg, S.C., gave chase to Franklin the entire distance, but never mounted a series challenge for the lead as Franklin cruised to the victory. Sanders settled for second with David McCoy of Franklin, N.C., third. Series point leader Royce Bray of Hull, Ga., finished fourth while Parker Herring of Hartwell, Ga., moved up from the 11th-starting position to finish fifth.

With the top-five finish, Bray extended his lead in the point standings to 17 points over David Smith of Inman, S.C. Smith finished 18th Saturday night after dropping out of the race on lap 15 with mechanical problems. Chris Steele of York, S.C., moved up to third in the standings, ahead of Blake Bentley of Duncan, S.C., and Ron Parker of Lawndale, N.C., who are fourth and fifth respectively.

The FASTRAK Racing Series has two national events coming up, including the $6,000-to-win Summer Nationals on July 3 at Mercer Raceway Park in Pulaski, Pa., and the $10,000-to-win West Virginia State Championship on July 10 at West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, W. Va. FASTRAK National events offer drivers from any FASTRAK regional touring series a chance to replace their worst finish on their respective regional tours with the finish in that event.

The Old Man’s Garage FASTRAK Southeast Late Model Series will return to action with a doubleheader weekend July 23 and 24 when the series visits Rolling Thunder Raceway in Ararat, Va., and Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va. The Friday night race at Rolling Thunder will pay $2,000 to the winner, while Saturday night’s race at Wythe will pay $3,000.

Old Man's Garage FASTRAK Southeast Late Model Series Returns to Toccoa Speedway Saturday Night for Inaugural Georgia Late Model Shootout

Exciting Events Including Late Model Parade and Fireworks to Help Celebrate Return

CARNESVILLE, Ga. (June 16, 2010) – After more than three years without a series race at Toccoa Speedway, The Old Man’s Garage FASTRAK Southeast Late Model Series will make its return to Georgia’s oldest dirt track Saturday night for the running of the inaugural Georgia Late Model Shootout.

To celebrate FASTRAK’s return to Toccoa Speedway, series officials and track promoter David Pritchett have organized an exciting afternoon of activities in the town of Toccoa prior to Saturday night’s race. There will be an autograph session from 2-4 pm in the Quality Foods parking lot in the Town Plaza Shopping Center, where fans will have a chance to meet their favorite drivers and get an up-close look at the race cars. Following the autograph session, the drivers will parade their sleek Late Model race cars down Highway 17 all the way to Toccoa Speedway.

“We’re really excited to have the FASTRAK Southeast Series back at Toccoa Speedway this weekend,” said Pritchett. “With it being three years since the series was last here, we wanted to celebrate their return in a big way. We also wanted to do something that the fans and the drivers would all enjoy. Hopefully the whole community will come out Saturday to meet the drivers and enjoy the parade.”

Racing action gets underway at Toccoa at 7:30 pm. The event will include a full slate of time trials, heat races and a 30-lap, $3,000-to-win feature race for the FASTRAK Late Models, as well as racing in Toccoa’s local divisions. Other activities to be held Saturday night include a fireworks show and fan drawings. One lucky fan will be chosen to be the Grand Marshall for the race. He or she will get to wave the green flag from the flag stand at the start of the FASTRAK feature race. Two other fans will get to ride in the official FASTRAK Pace Truck while it leads the field around the track during FASTRAK’s famous four-wide salute.

Royce Bray, of Hull, Ga., leads the Old Man’s Garage FASTRAK Southeast Series standings going into the event. David Smith, of Inman, S.C., is just three points behind Bray in second, with rookie driver Blake Bentley, of Duncan, S.C. in third. Jonathan Taylor, of Toccoa, leads a strong group of local drivers looking to defend their home track against the touring stars of FASTRAK.

“This race should be a great show,” Pritchett said. “The FASTRAK series has some of the best drivers in the country, but Toccoa has some of the best local drivers of any race track. It’ll be interesting to see how our local guys do up against the touring guys. I think it will be really close and it should make for a great race.”

General admission tickets are just $18. Fans can pick up coupons for $3 off admission at businesses in the Toccoa area. Coupons will also be available at the autograph session Saturday afternoon. Tickets are $10 for seniors.

Toccoa Speedway is located at 3553 Highway 17 Toccoa, GA 30577. For more information, visit the speedway website at www.toccoaspeedway.info, or call 706-827-0004.

Triple Crown up next for the Old Man's Garage FASTRAK Late Model Series

Event Reduced to Friday and Saturday Nights Only

Carnesville, Ga. (May 24, 2010) – The Old Man’s Garage FASTRAK Late Model Series will return to action Memorial Day weekend with the running of the inaugural FASTRAK Triple Crown Championship. The event was originally scheduled to include three nights of racing at three different tracks, but has since been reduced to Friday and Saturday nights only.

The first leg of the Triple Crown will take place Friday night at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., where 50 drivers will attempt to make the 24-car starting field for the 25-lap, $2,000-to-win feature race.

In last year’s race at the pristine four-tenths-mile clay oval, Welcome, N.C., resident Austin Dillon, who is the grandson of NASCAR team owner Richard Childress, thrilled fans when he drove a black No. 3 much like the car of the late Dale Earnhardt to Victory Lane. Johnny Pursley finished second with Kenny Peoples third.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will also be in action at the event, which kicks off the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 weekend taking place just across the street at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

On Saturday night, the tour will head to Rural Retreat, Va., for an action-packed evening of racing at the super-fast Wythe Raceway. The night will include two 20-lap feature races for the Old Man’s Garage FASTRAK Late Models, each paying $1,500 to the winner.

The series last visited the half-mile oval in October of 2009 for the FASTRAK Grand Nationals, during which Shannon Buckingham took the victory in the season-ending race and earned a $30,000 payday for winning the 2009 FASTRAK Grand Nationals Championship.

Drivers will earn points in all three of the Triple Crown feature races, leading to the crowning of the inaugural Triple Crown Champion at the conclusion of Saturday night’s second feature. The champion will receive a crown and will also be given a robe and scepter. In addition, the champion will receive a custom-made trophy that will also be adorned with a crown.

The Old Man’s Garage FASTRAK Late Model Series has held four events in 2010, with four different drivers visiting victory lane. There have also been four different fast qualifiers.

Royce Bray of Hull, Ga., leads the series standings by just four points over David Smith of Inman, S.C. The leading rookie contender, Blake Bentley of Duncan, S.C., is third, just 18 points out of the lead.

The Sleep Inn of Wytheville is the host hotel for the weekend’s races. Use the code “fast” to get a special discounted rate on rooms both Friday and Saturday nights. Take exit 72 off Hwy 87 to exit 41 off I-77 to get to the hotel.

Competition Beginning to Heat up in the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series

Carnesville, Ga. (May 20, 2010) - As the spring weather continues to heat up, so does the competition in the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series.

Just seven weeks into the 2010 season and some familiar drivers are already making their presence known, while some new faces have also emerged as potential contenders for the $10,000 check that awaits the 2010 national champion.

David Smith of Inman, S.C., has been virtually unstoppable during the opening weeks, winning seven of the 12 series races he has entered. Four of his wins have come at Buffalo Speedway (SC). The other three have come at Travelers Rest Speedway (SC).

The early success has allowed Smith to build a 91-point lead over his closest competitor, Travis Blackwell of Lyman, S.C. That lead may seem insurmountable, but it will dwindle quickly once drivers begin to reach the 15-race mark and start dropping their lowest-point finishes.

Blake Bentley of Duncan, S.C., sits in the third position with two wins in 10 starts. Bentley also leads the series’ rookie of the year standings. The 2010 season is the first year a rookie of the year will be crowned, with the top rookie in the final national standings receiving $1,000. Second will receive $500 and third will receive $250.

Jonathan Taylor of Toccoa, Ga., who has scored a win at both Lavonia Speedway (GA) and Toccoa Speedway (GA) is the second highest rookie in the current standings. Ricky Meglaye of Youngwood, Pa., is the third highest with two victories at Roaring Knob Motorsport Complex (PA).

Cranberry Township, Pa., resident Mike Pegher Jr. is currently fourth in the City Chevrolet Weekly Series standings. Pegher has won two races at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway and a third at Tri-City Speedway (PA).

Rounding out the top five is 2008 City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series champion Max Blair of Centerville, Pa. In seven starts, Blair has scored five wins at four different tracks.

Some other drivers to watch as the season progresses include 2008 FASTRAK Grand Nationals champion Royce Bray of Hull, Ga., who has three wins in five starts this season and defending City Chevrolet Weekly Series champion AJ Diemel of Bonduel, Wis., who has won two out of three starts this year at Shawano Speedway (WI).

Winky McGee of Pilot Mountain, N.C., and Steve Davis of Manville, N.J., have also had strong starts to the season, each scoring four wins in five starts. McGee’s victories have come at Rolling Thunder Speedway (VA) while Davis’s have come at New Egypt Speedway (NJ).

If it’s true that that knowledge is information, we’re trying to arm our race fans with as much information about FASTRAK, our drivers and tracks as well as our marketing partners as is possible”

Toccoa Motor Speedway FASTRAK sanctioned in 2010

New promoters making big impact at GA’s longest operating race track

FASTRAK Southern/Smokey Mtn/Mid East Touring Series to make 3 stops at Toccoa in 2010

©2010 FASTRAK Racing Series. All rights reserved

Carnesville, GA (Feb-24) The FASTRAK Racing Series has announced that Toccoa Motor Speedway will once again be FASTRAK sanctioned in 2010. In addition the FASTRAK Southern/Smokey Mtn/Mid East Touring Series is scheduled to visit Toccoa Motor Speedway on three occasions in 2010. Rich in its racing heritage, Toccoa Motor Speedway has been in operation longer than any of the other 40 race tracks still in operation in the state of Georgia. Perhaps the biggest news surrounding the 5/16’s mile high banked clay oval is the impact first year promoter David Conner is having in breathing new life into the facility.

“Toccoa Motor Speedway has a storied past in short track racing not only in the state of Georgia, but on a regional basis as well” says Conner. “Not only are we committed to preserving Toccoa Motor Speedways heritage, we are committed to restoring the prominence that was once associated with Toccoa Motor Speedway. Much is involved in doing that. We feel as though our affiliation with the FASTRAK Racing Series can aid us in our efforts. FASTRAK will have more touring events in 2010 than they’ve ever had and I like how they’ve gone about it”.

“With the downturn seen in the economy in 2009, FASTRAK has accomplished scheduling more events by placing a lot of emphasis on viewing the racing landscape from both a race team perspective as well as from a race track perspective. Race teams will have an opportunity in 2010 to race more than they ever in the past and they’ll do so with less travel expense. By the looks of things, FASTRAK’s expanded footprint in the region will enable race teams to race for FASTRAK points on Friday and Saturday nights in 2010” said Conner.

Conner goes on to say “Jonathan Taylor races with us and he finished in 24th in the FASTRAK/City Chevrolet National Weekly Racing Series last year without much opportunity to get many races in on a Friday night. Since Buffalo Motor Speedway is just an hour or so away and they race on Friday nights with FASTRAK sanctioning, it’ll be interesting to see if Taylor makes a serious challenge to crack the Top 10 by the end of the year”.

Conner and his team at Toccoa Motor Speedway have wasted little time in their efforts to enhance the overall racing experience for race teams and spectators visiting the speedway in 2010. “For starters, we’ve brought in new clay” says Conner. “We’re upgrading the restrooms, and we’re also making improvements to the parking areas, which includes improving and expanding our designated handicap parking areas as well. We’ll also have a designated handicapped area in the stands easy access”.

Conner is committed to recapturing the family segment in the surrounding area. “We want to bring family appeal to what we are doing and we realize that in order to do this, the show needs to move quicker and that’s something I think fans will see this year. We’re going to start early and finish early by speeding the show up” vows Conner.

“By the time we get done, we hope to have an area designated for children. On top of that we will have a Junior Fan Club that kids can be a part of. We’re looking to get to the point where we will have a drawing each week where one of the Junior Fan Club members will be able to be in the pit of their favorite driver and hang out”

As far as the racing at Toccoa Motor Speedway in 2010, Conner says “it’s really going to be something to see the new Hoosier tires here this year on the FASTRAK Late Models. We’ve seen the stories about track records falling at Modoc Speedway and Cherokee Speedway during tire testing. The track record here for crate cars is 13.082 seconds. If the pattern holds true here as well, a lap in the 12’s will be an incredible thing to just watch” says Conner

The FASTRAK Southern/Smokey Mtn/Mid East Touring Series will visit Toccoa Motor Speedway on May 1st, June 19th and again on August 28th.

In addition to the FASTRAK Racing Series on a weekly basis in, other classes that will see action at Toccoa Motor Speedway in 2010 are; Super Late Model, Limited Late Model, Hobby, Modified Street
Stock 4, Front Wheel Drive, and Young Guns

Rolling Thunder Raceway FASTRAK Sanctioned in 2010

Ararat VA

“A number of improvements are currently underway at Rolling Thunder for 2010 benefitting both the race teams and our race fans……”

Gary Nester, Track Owner

©2010 FASTRAK Racing Series. All rights reserved

Carnesville, GA (Feb-12) The FASTRAK Racing Series announced today that Rolling Thunder Raceway is the latest track to be added to the growing number of tracks that will be FASTRAK sanctioned in 2010. In addition the Ararat VA facility will be visited in 2010 by the FASTRAK Southern/Smokey Mtn/Mid East Touring Series as well. Rolling Thunder Raceway owners Gary and Alesia Nester are in the midst of making a number of improvements to the facility benefitting both race teams as well as race fans visiting Rolling Thunder in 2010. “We are a work in progress” says Gary Nester. “Alesia and I have always tried to view operations at Rolling Thunder from both perspectives; the race fans as well as the race teams.  We constantly assess and evaluate and having done that, visitors to Rolling Thunder in 2010 will see wholesale changes.”

“One of the biggest changes we’ve made is to the racing surface itself.  Not only are we widening the racing surface, we’re increasing the banking in Turns 1 & 2. We are also reconfiguring both the front and back straight-a-ways in effort to make the transition from the corners at each end of the speedway an easier one. Ultimately, the track is bigger and wider. When the season opens in April, the track layout here at Rolling Thunder will be a true 3/8’s mile” says Nester

Unending in their efforts, Nester adds “we’re increasing the seating at Rolling Thunder as well. New bleachers are under construction and while the weather has played havoc throughout the off season, we hope to have new restrooms in place in 2010 as well”.

“We’re excited about once again being FASTRAK sanctioned in 2010” says Nester. “We see a concerted effort by FASTRAK in 2010 to partner Friday and Saturday night tracks in close proximity to one another enabling the race teams to race on Friday and Saturday nights. The FASTRAK/ City Chevrolet National Weekly Racing Series is without a doubt the most competitive thing going as far as providing an opportunity for a driver to be catapulted into the mainstream on a national level. With Wythe Raceway racing on Saturday nights about an hour away, drivers in this area have an opportunity to give a national championship a serious look”.

The FASTRAK Southern/Smokey Mtn/Mid East Touring Series will visit Rolling Thunder on Friday July 23rd.

“I think all of the work underway at Rolling Thunder is impressive” said FASTRAK’s Michael Hurley. “The level of their commitment to both the race teams and the race fans in the area is unprecedented. Gary and Alesia are committed to making Rolling Thunder Raceway the facility that tops everyone’s list in the area from both the racers perspective as well the race fans. I think the kind of racing everyone will be treated to at Rolling Thunder in 2010 will be on a level not seen before”.

In addition to the FASTRAK Racing Series, other divisions which will see action at Rolling Thunder in 2010 are Limited Sportsman/Super Streets, renegades, Pure Stock V-8’s, 600 mini sprints, U-cars, and mini stocks.

FASTRAK Racing Series

Travelers Rest Speedway FASTRAK Sanctioned in 2010

Travelers Rest SC

New promoter Andy Hyde determined to transform Travelers Rest Speedway for race fans AND competitors

©2010 FASTRAK Racing Series. All rights reserved

Carnesville, GA (Feb-3) The FASTRAK Racing Series formally announced today that Travelers Rest Speedway in Travelers Rest SC will be weekly FASTRAK sanctioned in 2010. In addition, 2010 will see the return of the FASTRAK Southern/Smokey Mtn/Mid East Touring Series which has not competed at the 3/8’s mile semi-banked oval in nearly two years. “We’re really looking forward to 2010” said Andy Hyde who has taken over operations at Travelers Rest. “No one can argue the level of competition that is synonymous with the FASTRAK Racing Series. While Travelers Rest has been a part of the FASTRAK Series the last few years, we want to take things to a higher level. The fan base here is very supportive of the speedway as well as the drivers and the race teams. We’re working hard to improve a number of things here to upgrade and enhance the overall experience the competitors and race fans have when they come to Travelers Rest Speedway”

Hyde adds, “We‘re trying to address things here from the perspective of both the race fans as well the competitors. As far as the race surface is concerned, we’ve brought in new clay and in the process reconfigured Turns 3&4. When cars exited Turn 4, the groove was narrow and would close up real quick to where completing a pass was very difficult. We believe the way in which we’ve reconfigured that end of the speedway will promote much better racing. I really think the new clay and the work we’ve done in Turns 3&4 will have a huge impact on the quality of the overall product at Travelers Rest. You combine this with the new Hoosier Tire package FASTRAK is running on this year and I think it’s safe to say we’ll see a level of racing here that hasn’t been seen in a long time.  I know the competitors will like what we’ve done, and more importantly, so will the fans”

“Something else we’re working hard at is giving everything here a cleaner, fresher look. We’ve already redone the restrooms and are in the process of getting a fresh coat of paint on as much as we can although the weather has been working against us lately. In our efforts to upgrade, everyone will notice new signage complete with a new logo for the speedway. As far as that goes, we’re even redeveloping the website which should be complete in the coming days. I have to give a nod to Primetime Designs in Asheville for all the work they’ve done for us” said Hyde

“Overall, we hope that when everyone visits Travelers Rest this year, they’ll know as soon as they enter the property that things here are different” says Hyde. “Ultimately, my goal is to improve the quality of what everyone is coming to be a part of; close, competitive racing. We’re putting forth a lot of effort in the hopes that everyone is still talking about the racing they saw on their way out to the parking lot when the show is over”

“After nearly a two year absence, I think the addition of two FASTRAK Touring events here at Travelers Rest is long overdue” said Hyde. “We’re situated in highly a concentrated area where there is a lot of activity in terms of the FASTRAK Racing Series. I think that with the number of race teams in such close proximity to us, I look for both events to be bring a good number of race teams translating into two pretty exciting shows, and the race fans in this area really deserve it”

“The amount of work Andy and his group have gotten done at Travelers Rest in such a short period of demonstrates how determined they are in transforming Travelers Rest into a premier facility for everyone who visits the speedway either to watch a race or compete in one.” said FASTRAK’s Michael Hurley. “Andy knows racing and he views everything from both perspectives; the race fans and the race teams. 2010 Season Opener – FASTRAK National Touring Event

$10,000 To Win ‘Modoc 100’ March 5TH & 6TH

Modoc Speedway to be FASTRAK Sanctioned in 2010

Carnesville, GA (Feb-1) In the winter months preceding 2009, Modoc Speedway owner Brian Stewart had made the decision that he wanted to kick off the year long 25th Anniversary Celebration at Modoc Speedway in a big way.  The byproduct of Stewart’s “outside of the box” thinking was the ‘Modoc 100’. The event would mark only the second time in the 25 years Modoc Speedway has stood where 100 laps has been the distance of ANY event at Modoc.  Already committed to FASTRAK weekly sanctioning at Modoc Speedway in 2009,  Stewart along with FASTRAK Racing Series Founder & CEO Stan Lester gave life to the $10,000 to win Modoc 100. The event would kick off the 2009 season for both Modoc Speedway and the FASTRAK Racing Series with the added distinction of being the largest season opening event in the history of FASTRAK. The event would also mark the biggest season opening event for any series in the country competing on the GM 602 and 604 “crate” engine platforms.

The Modoc 100 is a FASTRAK National Touring event as well as the season’s first FASTRAK Southern/Smokey Mtn/Mid East Touring Series event.

As the days counted down leading up to the 2009 FASTRAK ‘Modoc 100’, the event had clearly garnered an amount of attention an event of this magnitude would generate as demonstrated by the number of credential requests from numerous media outlets. Additionally, the number of telephone calls from race teams as well as race fans received at Modoc Speedway and the FASTRAK Racing Series national headquarters in Carnesville GA was unprecedented.

Blairsville GA’s Jonathan Davenport went on to win the Modoc 100 and picked up the $10,000 winner’s check but perhaps even more importantly, Modoc Speedway and the FASTRAK Racing Series experienced occurrences never before seen by the speedway or the series.

Seventy race teams had registered at the FASTRAK Racing Series hauler prior to the event from as far away as Missouri, Pennsylvania and New York, an occurrence normally reserved for the FASTRAK Racing Series GRAND NATIONALS or the $10,000 to win Pro Late Model Nationals held every Labor Day weekend at Fred Brown’s Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat VA

As the drop of the green flag neared, another notable occurrence was the overflow, standing room only crowd necessitating the need to delay the start of the event to allow race fans who could park no closer to the speedway than two miles away time to get settled into their seats. It was learned later that the FASTRAK ‘Modoc 100’ had attracted the largest crowd to ever witness an event in the 25 year history of Modoc Speedway.

“We’re really excited about the Modoc 100 kicking off 2010 for the FASTRAK Racing Series here at Modoc Speedway for the second year in a row” said Stewart. “Our fans are not only loyal, they’re dedicated.  The level of competition associated with the FASTRAK Racing Series brand is unquestionable and the race promises to be exciting especially with switch to Hoosier tires. FASTRAK held a tire test here not that long ago, and every car participating in the tire test had surpassed the FASTRAK track record here by over a second. One thing everyone commented on during the tire testing was how much more stable the cars were in the corners. They could drive deeper into the corner and get back on the gas quicker.  With all of the competitors competing with the same engines and on the same Hoosier tires, this thing is shaping up to be quite a race”.

“We’re also excited about our FASTRAK sanctioning in 2010. We have some local drivers here that can mount a serious challenge for the FASTRAK/ City Chevrolet National Weekly Championship. It’s the big prize many of them have their eye on” says Stewart.

In addition to the $10,000 to win Modoc 100 for the FASTRAK Racing Series, Stewart is kicking off Modoc Speedway’s 2010 season in a big way for Modoc Speedway support divisions. While tracks will commonly schedule a “big payday” event for each support class at some point throughout the season, Stewart has turned things up a notch with 4 support classes in action paying $1000 To Win on Opening Night. The Modoc Speedway Limited’s, Super Street’s, Stock V-8’s, Super Stock 4 and Extreme 4’s will each be in action where the winner in each class will bank $1000. Also on tap is the $300 to win Giffin Plumbing Company Powder Puff race.

Race fans will also be treated to The NLMS Super Late Models who will compete in a 50 Lap, $5000 to win event as well.

The Modoc 100 weekend will kick off on Thursday March 4 with Open Practice set to get underway at 7 pm.

On Friday FASTRAK Qualifying is on the docket followed by heat races. The Pit Area will open at Noon. The drivers meeting will be at 7 p m. The NLMS Super Late Models will qualify on Friday with heat races to follow as well. The Super Street’s, Stock V-8’s and the Super Stock 4’s will have heat races en route to their respective $1000 To Win Saturday Night Feature events.

Also on tap Friday will be the Modoc Speedway Limited Late Models and the Extreme 4’s. Both divisions will qualify and run their respective $1000 to win features events in the same evening.

On Saturday the FASTRAK Racing Series Last Chance Race will roll off the starting grid to complete the starting field that will make up the $10,000 To Win FASTRAK Racing Series ‘Modoc 100’. The Pit Area will again open at Noon with the Driver Meeting set for 5 p m. Feature events for the NLMS Super Late Models, Super Streets, Stock V-8’s, and Super Stock 4’s will follow in addition to the Giffin Plumbing Powder Puff Race.

All FASTRAK Racing Series teams are encouraged to register early and take advantage of the discounted entry fee if postmarked before Feb 25. A downloadable entry form is available at both the FASTRAK Racing Series web site or the Modoc Speedway web site.

Modoc Speedway is located just south of McCormick SC on Hwy 28, one mile north of Modoc SC.

FASTRAK/Hoosier Tire Program Details Released

First production run slated for mid-February

©2010 FASTRAK Racing Series. All rights reserved

Lakeville IN (Jan-29) Hoosier Racing Tire, in cooperation with the FASTRAK Racing Series, is proud to release the details of the 2010 FASTRAK tire program. Beginning in mid-February, Hoosier will release the first production run of new FASTRAK-plated tires.

“I know this announcement is coming later than both Hoosier or FASTRAK would have liked,” stated Hoosier Product Manager Shanon Rush. “But you only get one chance to start off a new relationship. Stan and I agonized over the details many times to try and satisfy all of the FASTRAK regions and drivers. Although it took two separate tests and many phone calls, I think we have finally found the tires we were looking for.”

Hoosier will produce two sizes for the FASTRAK Racing Series, the 88.0/11.0-15 and the 92.0/11.0-15. Normally utilized as a left rear tire, the target rollout for the 88 inch tire will be roughly 87 to 88 inches. The catalog number will be 36608 with a size description of 88.0/11.0-15 LSB. It will be available in the FT200 and FT400 compounds.

The 92 inch tire, generally a front and right rear tire, will be spec number 36628 with a size designation of 92.0/11.0-15 LSB. Three compounds will be available including the FT200, FT400, and FT600. The target measurement of the 92.0/11.0 will be 91 to 92 inches.

The three FASTRAK compounds, FT200, FT400 and FT600, were chosen with durability and versatility in mind. The FT200 should durometer in the 45 range while the FT400 fills the 55 durometer range needs. Finally, the FT600 will be the fail-safe, right rear only compound with a 65 durometer range.

I can’t express how much FASTRAK as a company and I personally appreciate the tireless efforts everyone at Hoosier has put into this process.” stated FASTRAK CEO/Founder Stan Lester. “Our originally planned day two of tire testing was ‘snowed out’, and with the Christmas holiday the following week, the decision making process was delayed. In the end, we have come up with an incredible product that is durable, fast, and easy to drive. Tracks and teams are calling wanting to know when tires will be ready. 2010 is developing into what I think will be the most exciting year FASTRAK has seen to date”.

Beckley Motorsports Park (WV) FASTRAK Sanctioned in 2010

Beckley WV

©2010 FASTRAK Racing Series. All rights reserved

Carnesville, GA (Jan-19) The FASTRAK Racing Series announced today the signing of a seventh track new to the FASTRAK Racing Series in 2010.  Beckley Motorsports Park in Beckley WV will compete under the FASTRAK banner throughout the upcoming season where the FASTRAK Racing Series late models will be in competition every Friday night.  Beckley Motorsports Park promoter Jim Williams who attended his first race at Beckley in 1966 said “as a promoter, during the winter months you look back over the year just completed and look at everything you did right and identify the areas you want to make improvements in. For us here at Beckley, we don’t look at things from the standpoint of just the fans, or the race teams. I’m pretty adamant about looking at everything on both sides of the front straight-away fence and how it impacts every visitor to Beckley Motorsports Park. Having said that, becoming a part of the FASTRAK Racing Series is something we needed to do here. 2009 was a good year for us, but as the year went on I began to realize that there were a lot of FASTRAK race teams in this area that were either not racing on Friday nights or they were driving right by us to find somewhere they could race on Friday nights to secure FASTRAK points”

“I’m really excited to see how the national championship picture will look come midsummer. The FASTRAK race teams in this area are really committed to the series, and I’m not talking about crate racing in general, I’m talking FASTRAK.  The rules tip the scales in favor of the race teams who compete in the FASTRAK Racing Series. Everyone has a fair chance. There aren’t many racing series that I’m aware of that provide so much opportunity. I think what racers want more than anything is to get a fair shake and FASTRAK does that very well.”

“I’m really impressed with the race teams in our area. These guys have learned how to get the most of what they have. When they’ve gone off and competed in some of the big races, they’ve represented this area quite well. In fact, I think West Virginia had maybe seven drivers in the top 50 in the final FASTRAK/City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series in 2009 and when you consider most of these guys had nowhere near the resources a lot of the race teams in the top 50 had, you can’t help but be impressed. It says a lot about these guys and their dedication and commitment”

Williams went on to add “They love to race and since we race on Friday nights at Beckley, now everyone has the opportunity to compete twice a week in the region and that’s pretty exciting and because of the level playing field environment, race fans are going to see some really good racing here. In a way, it’ll be like the old International Race of Champions. Same engines, same tires. It’s IROC on dirt”

Williams is quick to point out that in addition to bringing FASTRAK to Beckley Motorsports Park in 2010, race fans as well as the race teams will notice a number of improvements at the 3/8s mile high banked facility. “In the second half of 2009, we saw tremendous growth in the number of families coming out for a night at the races at Beckley Motorsports Park” said Williams. “It’s really good to see such a big increase in the number of families coming out. In 2010 it will be very apparent to those who visit our facility that we want to cater to them”

Williams adds “The Beckley area has always supported us and we are determined to transform Beckley Motorsports Park into one of the area’s leading family entertainment venues”

“A couple of things everyone will see in 2010 is how diligent we will be in keeping the show moving. We’re going away from the one car at a time qualifying format. When we qualify they’ll be at least four or five cars on the track at the same time qualifying. We’re putting a lot of emphasis in 2010 on pre staging each event so when one event concludes, little time will pass before the next event is rolling out on to the speedway. We’re going to get done at a decent hour every week” says Williams

Another project underway “We’re taking down the bleachers on the back straight-away and terracing the hill back there. Race fans can bring lawn chairs and sit out on the hillside. We’ll also have a designated handicap area back there as well where races can be viewed from inside a vehicle” said Williams.

The pit area is located outside the race track and race teams will notice an expanded pit area. “We’ve enlarged the pits. Not only will there be more room, getting in and out will be a lot easier. It’ll be a lot better for the race teams and it could well end up being an asset in moving the show along as well”

“We’re also putting some of the bleachers we are taking down outside of the back straight-away and putting them in the pit area so the drivers and crews of each of the teams can have a dedicated area in which to view the races” said Williams.

In addition to the FASTRAK Racing Series, other divisions that will see action at Beckley in 2010 are super late models, the popular AMRA open wheel modifieds, street stocks and hornets.

Discussions are also scheduled whereby a FASTRAK Racing Series regional touring event may make a stop at Beckley Motorsports Park in 2010 as well.

“We’re thrilled to have Beckley on board with us” said FASTRAK Founder & CEO Stan Lester. “Both Jim and I feel that this association will enhance the amount opportunity for  race teams in the region, and that is what the FASTRAK Racing Series is all about. I’m also very confident the increased size of our footprint in West Virginia will lead to many good things for not just the race teams, but more importantly, the race fans”.

FASTRAK Racing Series

Buffalo Motor Speedway (SC) Weekly Fastrak Sanctioned in 2010

Buffalo, SC

New Ownership & improvements at  3/8 mi facility quickly becoming a ‘Hot Topic’ in South Carolina

©2010 FASTRAK Racing Series. All rights reserved

Carnesville, GA (Jan-14) The FASTRAK Racing Series announced today that Buffalo Motor Speedway (formerly Union County Speedway) in Buffalo SC will be FASTRAK sanctioned in 2010. Buffalo Speedway is the sixth new track in recent weeks to commit to competing under the FASTRAK banner in 2010. Buffalo will have the distinction of being the only FASTRAK Racing Series sanctioned track in the region competing on Friday nights enabling all race teams the opportunity to compete at other area FASTRAK  sanctioned venues on Saturday nights. According to new track owner Jack Abney “the FASTRAK Racing Series is the most competitive series in the country. By racing on Friday nights at Buffalo Motor Speedway our drivers will have the opportunity to race two nights a week virtually in their own backyard. I realistically feel as though any one of our drivers can make a strong bid for the FASTRAK/City Chevrolet National Weekly Racing Series Championship”

Abney goes on to say “with FASTRAK being Georgia based, I don’t know that people new to the FASTRAK Racing Series realize that the national weekly champion has never been won by anyone in the south. To me this speaks volumes in terms of how much of a reality the level playing field environment FASTRAK promotes really is”

Located some 50 miles southeast of Greenville, Abney is committed to transforming the Buffalo Motor Speedway facility into one of the area’s leading family entertainment values. “We realize that this encompasses two things” says Abney. “Our priorities are multi-dimensional. It’s paramount that we don’t view things with tunnel vision. We want coming to Buffalo Motor Speedway to be a positive experience for both the fans and the competitors”

“Gary Ramsey has been involved in motorsports in this area for 25 years. Gary will be working on enhancements for the drivers and race teams. Already underway are concrete pads for race teams who are interested. We will also have an area available for race teams to wash their cars before leaving the track. We’re also making improvements to the staging area which will enable us to get cars on and off the track in a more time efficient manner. Our drivers as well as our officials will benefit from this of course, but more importantly, so too will the race fans as the transition between classes on the track will be much quicker”

“Another upgrade fans as well as the race teams will experience as soon as they enter the property will be the road into the speedway from the highway. We’re redoing the road, making it much easier to enter and exit the property. We’re also making improvements to the parking areas”

“We’re also making a rather large addition to the existing building in the grandstand area enabling our fans to eat indoors and out of the elements if they choose. The area will also house game room activities not only for kids but the entire family. We may end up with a racing simulator as well. Plans also call for a mascot who will interact with our youngest guests”

In the upper level of the building towering above the grandstands is an enclosed area from which the competition on the track can be viewed.

“We’re fortunate in that the Buffalo community is very motorsports friendly” says Abney. “In the 20 years I’ve been going to races, I’ve seen lots of places where the focal point was either the fans or the drivers and I think it’s critical in today’s marketplace to be diligent in trying to view everything we do from both perspectives.

“I’m excited about 2010” says Abney. “I think we have a lot to offer. We are striving to make Buffalo Motor Speedway a place that has something for the entire family. From the perspective of our race fans, we’re trying to create an environment where the need to find a babysitter on Friday night to come to the races is eliminated.

“In terms of the racing, I can’t think of a better product to offer our fans than the FASTRAK Racing Series as our marquee late model division. The competition is incredible. The FASTRAK cars put on a great show. From a race team standpoint, I don’t know of anyone who has been so earnest in an effort to keep racing affordable. From a rules perspective, they’ve done more to keep a handle on things than anyone out there”.

In addition to the FASTRAK Racing Series, Open Wheel Modifieds will compete throughout the year at Buffalo Motor Speedway. Other classes seeing action in 2010 will be crate sportsman, renegades, young guns, front wheel drive as well as the popular street stock 4’s and the super stock 4’s.

“It’s refreshing to see someone with the level of enthusiasm Jack and his team have at Buffalo Motor Speedway. His passion for transforming BMS into a first rate facility for everyone on both sides of the fence is impressive” said FASTRAK Founder & CEO Stan Lester. “I’m confident the relationship between Jack and his entire staff will transcend into big things for both Buffalo Motor Speedway and the FASTRAK Racing Series”

Hesston Speedway (PA) To Be Weekly Sanctioned in 2010

Hesston, PA

Central Pennsylvania track set to host FASTRAK Northeast Touring Event on August 7

©2010 FASTRAK Racing Series. All rights reserved

Pulaski, PA (Jan-8) The FASTRAK Racing Series is pleased to welcome Hesston Speedway located in Hesston, PA as a 2010 weekly-sanctioned Late Model speedway.  In addition to becoming a member of the expanding network of tracks underneath the FASTRAK Racing Series banner, Hesston will also host its first ever FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series event on Saturday, August 7.

Hesston marks the first FASTRAK sanctioned speedway in central Pennsylvania The half-mile dirt oval owned by Dave Eriksen and promoted by Dusty Hertzler will race on Saturday nights in 2010 and feature the FASTRAK Racing Series on 10-12 occasions.

“We’re thrilled to have Hesston join FASTRAK and be part of the FASTRAK Northeast region,” expressed Northeast Region Co-Director Vicki Emig.  “It’s great to finally have a presence in central Pa. and hopefully that will open the doors in the future for other speedways to the east of them.  We met with Dusty a couple years ago about expanding FASTRAK into central Pa., but things just didn’t come together at the time.  With Dusty now getting his first chance at promoting, it’s great to see him give the FASTRAK Racing Series an opportunity.”

In 2008, a record nine speedways made up FASTRAK Northeast Region with a record 208 different drivers competing.  In addition to providing race teams in central Pa. the opportunity to compete under the FASTRAK Racing Series umbrella, the addition of Hesston Speedway gives race teams at FASTRAK sanctioned Dog Hollow Speedway a chance to compete a second night when Hesston Speedway features the FASTRAK Racing Series.

“I felt it was important to go FASTRAK,” stated Hertzler.  “They have a great program from their rules enforcement, to tires, and great benefits with all their point funds.  I want our drivers to make the most out of going crate Late Model racing.  That was the selling point.  I put a feeler out recently and got some positive response.  Hopefully with this official announcement it will get the ball rolling.”

“I want people to know that I’m not trying to replace the current Limited Late Model division,” explained Hertzler.  “I really felt the need to have an economical, affordable Late Model class and feel FASTRAK is the answer.  The cost savings is incredible and you don’t have to look too far away to see its success.  Not only will this open up some doors for FASTRAK in central Pa., I think this provides an affordable option for race teams looking to move up into something else. I think Street Stock guys really need to take a look at this class

While Hertzler hopes to have 10 cars on opening night, many fans at Hesston and in central Pa. will get their first chance to see the FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series when they make their first ever appearance to Hesston on Saturday, August 7.  This event will be held in conjunction with Dog Hollow Speedway’s Touring Series event the night before.

The FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series will begin year number four in 2010.  Past Champions are Alan Dellinger, Max Blair, and David Scott.  In 2009, several records were shattered.  Fifteen events were held seeing 138 drivers competing.  The average car count of each event was 32.  Tri-City Speedway set the high water mark in 2009 as 43 teams were on hand Labor Day weekend.

At the upcoming FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series Awards Banquet on Saturday, January 16 at the Normandy Banquet Center/Hickory VFW in Hermitage, Pa., the top 12 drivers in the final 2009 FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series points will receive a record cash payout. Positions 13-15 in the final 2009 FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series points will be receiving product contingencies

“We’re happy with how the 2010 Touring Series schedule is coming together,” stated Northeast Co-Director Mike Leone.  “The Hesston date gives us 13 events thus far, which is really good as we’re still waiting on other speedways to give us dates.  The Dog Hollow-Hesston weekend should be a fun weekend for the racers. We coordinated the dual event weekend to save on travel expenses for our race teams.”

Hesston has already begun the process of improving the speedway grounds in anticipation of the 2010 season.  Fifty loads of clay have been placed on the track and a new main entrance to the speedway grounds has been configured along with the ongoing efforts to reconfigure both the inside and outside pit areas.  Fans and racers visiting the speedway in 2010 will be greeted with better parking access and will notice other major aesthetic improvements.

Carnesville GA (Jan-6) The continued success of the FASTRAK Racing Series has led to yet another first for the series with the addition of the renowned West Virginia Motor Speedway to the growing list of tracks the FASTRAK Racing Series will visit in 2010. The 5/8’s mile West Virginia Motor Speedway will be weekly sanctioned throughout 2010 and will host a two night event where $1,500 will be up for grabs to the winner on the first night July 9th, and $10,000 to the winner on the following night of racing action at the famed Mineral Wells, WV facility.

West Virginia Motor Speedway, located just south of Parkersburg on I-77 will have the distinction of being the largest track in terms of length ever visited by the FASTRAK Racing Series. WVMS has hosted some of the largest premier racing events in dirt racing in the nation over the years. In addition to the FASTRAK racing Series, 2010 will see the World of Outlaw Late Model Series in action on May 29th &30th.

“It will be a great honor to race at WVMS” stated FASTRAK’s Michael Hurley. “Some of the greatest names in the sport have made it a point to compete there. Our teams are excited about competing at this particular venue, which in effect will be our ‘Super Speedway’ event of the year. It’s the largest track we will visit in terms of length. As equal as the FASTRAK Late Models have become, it will be an exciting two days of racing. The racing surface at WVMS is very wide all the way around the track. The turns are flat and the straight-aways are long and fast.

BDS Racing Promotions together with Charleston WV area businessman Lynn Chapman and Associates have formed a joint partnership; Mountain State Motorsports Promotions and will operate West Virginia Motor Speedway through 2012. BDS Promotions who most recently brought new life to Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV is comprised of Brian Ferrell, Daniel Patterson and Scott Strode.  Record crowds as well as record car counts became the norm while the trio managed Tyler County and they are determined to bring the same success to WVMS by offering race fans a diverse schedule, fan friendly promotions, and a well organized, timely run show on each and every race night.

BDS garnered a stellar reputation amongst the competitors at Tyler County Speedway as a result of the high priority Ferrell, Patterson and Strode routinely placed on always providing a racy surface on which to compete.

BDS Racing Promotions is blessed and excited about bringing Mr. Chapman on board. “We have known Lynn for several years and have never met a more genuine person that loves racing like he does and with his many resources and work ethic are thrilled to have Lynn and his associates Tom Wellman and David Saulsgiver on board in bringing the monster 5/8 mile back to the pinnacle of motorsports” concluded Brian Ferrell.

“In addition to the FASTRAK Racing Series we have some really big shows in the works that I’m sure will put WVMS back on the national map.  From marquee crown jewel events, to family oriented monster truck shows, hammer down 410 sprint action; the sky’s the limit really on what is possible at WVMS” said BDS’s Daniel Patterson

Mountain State Motorsports Promotions Scott Strode said "In 2009, we sanctioned our crate engine late model division with the FASTRAK organization.  We had struggled to grow the class prior to FASTRAK and saw the value to the racers with FASTRAK which is designed to put the emphasis on driving ability and set-up ultimately de-emphasizing the money aspect."

After aligning with FASTRAK, the result was a field of late models that continued to grow until it was our largest weekly class of cars".

"We ended up with 10 different feature winners in 2009, race teams from 6 different states, and 5 of our regulars finished in the top 25 in the FASTRAK national point standings.  A lot of our drivers are going to cash some nice point fund checks."

“As demonstrated by their success at Tyler County Speedway, this team will succeed at WVMS” said Hurley. “We like what we see in this group; like FASTRAK, they are very much ‘outside of the box’ thinkers and that’s paramount in being successful in today’s world of racing. You have to first give race fans as well as the race teams a reason to come. Where expertise is really vital is keeping them, and these guys have demonstrated that they really know how to do that.

From its unique, picturesque and spacious terraced hillside seating, perfect location along Interstate 77, to the awe inspiring high speeds the 5/8’s mile track layout offers, the list of reasons why West Virginia Motor Speedway will be a ‘MUST SEE’ seemingly grows longer on a daily basis.
