Race Notes: Consolation races were scrapped with rain moving into the area. The entire field was set solely on qualifying. Polesitter Vic Hill changed a right rear tire in the infield prior to the drop of the green flag and led the first four circuits. Tony Knowles then took command and led up until lap ten when he tangled on the backstretch with Chad Ogle, who he was trying to put a lap down. Chris Madden then assumed the top spot and held the point until he lost a right rear wheel on lap 43. The #44 team made repairs and the 2011 Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Champion was able to salvage a sixth place performance. Vic Hill was the benefactor of Madden's misfortune, as he led the remaining eleven circuits of the race to score his second career series victory. Stacy Boles had a solid top five run going until a flat right rear tire sent him into the pit area on lap 46. The top five in series points were virtually locked into place before the finale and an awards ceremony was held in victory lane before the race program started at Tazewell. Chris Madden won his third Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series point title over Tony Knowles, Johnny Pursley, Jr., Donald Bradsher, and Brian Reese.

Race Notes: Chris Madden virtually locked up his third Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Championship tonight with his win at Volunteer Speedway. After laying down the quickest lap during the qualifying session, Madden grabbed the lead at the start of the race and never looked back en route to his third series victory of the year and the seventeenth of his career. The race was for second behind Madden, as Eric Jacobsen and Ty Dillon raced side-by-side for multiple laps. It was a tough night for a couple of the Southern Nationals regulars, as Donald Bradsher hit the turn four wall on the second lap and Johnny Pursley, Jr. went up in smoke on lap 22. The Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series will crown a champion on Saturday, July 23 at the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee, as the miniseries concludes its seventh season with a $5,300 to win show.

Race Notes: Polesitter Tommy Kerr and fourth starting Chris Madden waged an excellent battle for the top spot over the first fifteen circuits. Once Madden disposed of Kerr for good on lap fifteen, he held off a charge from Kerr's teammate Billy Ogle, Jr. before stretching his lead late in the race. Shane Clanton made the long trip to Cleveland from Gillette, Wyoming where he won the $10,000 'Cowboy 50' on Tuesday night at the Gillette Thunder Speedway. Clanton made a late charge to get up to the fourth position. Only two cautions slowed the action at Cleveland, as Donald Bradsher brought out the yellow on lap 13 and Chip Brindle spun in turn four on lap 22. The next event for the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series will be Friday night, July 22 at the high-banks of the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.

Race Notes: Phillip Pittman barrel-rolled his #3 entry several times after heading over the turn three banking in his consolation race. He emerged unharmed from the incident, but did not start the main event. Polesitter Jonathan Davenport jumped out into the lead on lap one, while fellow front row starter Chris Madden slid back to fifth early in the race. Dennis Franklin experienced terminal motor issues on lap 6, while Brent Dixon went up in smoke to bring out the race's first caution on the 21st circuit. Davenport appeared to have the race under control until he blew a right rear tire on lap 30. Casey Roberts assumed the top spot and went on to capture his sixth career Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series triumph. Davenport; meanwhile, restarted on the tail end of the lead lap cars and salvaged a fourth place finish. The Southern Nationals Series will take a day off on Wednesday before heading to the Volunteer State of Tennessee for a trio of shows at Cleveland, Bulls Gap, and Tazewell.

Race Notes: The prelims for this show took place last Thursday, July 14, but Mother Nature pushed back the 53-lap feature event until tonight. David Payne, who laid down the second quickest lap in qualifying last Thursday to earn a front-row starting spot, was not able to return tonight due to work commitments. That moved the entire outside lane up a row in the starting grid. Randy Weaver, who was aboard Derek Ellis' back-up #99 GRT car, swapped the lead with Chris Madden several times early in the race before taking the point for good on about the tenth circuit. Polesitter Mike Marlar piloted Vic Hill's #1 entry after engine woes sidelined his Warrior House Car. Marlar looped his borrowed ride in turn two on the opening lap and collected Jonathan Davenport, Tyler Ivey, and Ronnie Johnson among others. Johnson was the man on the move throughout the race, as he changed a damaged wheel and tire after the first-lap melee and stormed back through the field to earn runner-up honors behind Weaver. Chris Madden, who ran second most of the event, limped home on the last lap with mechanical problems underneath the rear-end of his #44 Team Zero racecar. The next show for the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series will be tomorrow night, July 19 at the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama.

Race Notes: Ty Dillon went from third-to-first on the opening lap to take the initial race lead. After holding the point for the first fifteen circuits, Ty suffered a flat tire on his #41 machine under caution and was forced to give up the top spot. He returned to the track and eventually salvaged an eighth place effort. Polesitter Jonathan Davenport then took control of the race and kept both Chris Madden and Casey Roberts behind him for the remainder of the distance. Madden (top) and Roberts (bottom) raced side-by-side for upwards of twenty laps battling for the second spot behind Davenport. A big crowd witnessed Davenport's first victory with the series in 2011 and his fifth career series triumph. Ronnie Johnson was the hard charger of the race, as he picked off nine competitors to finish in the sixth position. Casey Roberts and Brandon Overton both took their shots at race leader Brent Dixon in the waning laps, but Dixon held off Overton by less than a car length to record his first Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series triumph. Tonight's Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Race at Swainsboro Rained Out

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) With many race haulers inside of the pit area and more waiting outside of the pit gate, Mother Nature unleashed a heavy rain shower on the Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia tonight, which canceled the $5,300 to win Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series program. The stars of the series will now turn their focus to the Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia on Saturday evening, July 16.

The 12th Annual 'Rebel Yell' will be held tomorrow at Screven and another $5,300 top prize will await the winner. This will mark the sixth consecutive year that the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series has visited Screven and previous winners include: Henry Carter ('06), Jimmy Sharpe ('07), Dennis Franklin ('08 & '09), Casey Roberts ('10). Chris Madden inherited the race lead from Davenport and held off Dennis Franklin in the waning laps to win by 0.267 seconds. Only eight cars finished the attrition-filled race, seven of which were on the lead lap. The win for Madden was his series-leading 15th career Southern Nationals Series victory. Tommy Kerr scratched for the evening after hot laps. Following a day off on Wednesday, the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series will resume competition with a $5,300 to win showdown on Thursday, July 14 at the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia.

Race Notes: Dennis Franklin grabbed the lead on the initial start of the race, but a turn-four pile-up on the first lap caused a total restart. The race was red-flagged on lap six due to rain and was delayed for over two hours. When the feature finally restarted, Jonathan Davenport, Chip Brindle, and Donald Bradsher were relegated to the tail end of the lead lap cars after changing tires during the red-flag period. Chris Madden, who went to a back-up car following time trials, rallied from last to second to finish behind only NASCAR Camping World Truck Series star Austin Dillon. Dillon was able to beat a hard charging Madden by a half straightaway. Consolation races were scrapped earlier in the night when impending weather caused the entire field to be set via time trials. The next race for the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series will be on Tuesday, July 12 at the Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, North Carolina.
