Despite entering its 9th season of competition the unparalleled growth trend continues, as FASTRAK continues to be the "fastest growing racing series" in the country. With only 5 cars at Winder Barrow Speedway in its debut event in 2004 the FASTRAK Racing Series has quickly and consistently grown into one of the most successful racing organizations in the history of the sport. Today, FASTRAK enjoys an average of over 400 late models running each weekend at FASTRAK weekly sanctioned tracks and touring events across the country. The series was originated and still today is based in the small town of 600 plus full time residents of Carnesville, GA. Keep in mind that FASTRAK pays one of the largest point funds in the world and especially in dirt racing. The City Chevrolet National Weekly Championship pays nearly $50,000 to the top 50 teams in the country. Each FASTRAK Region offers touring championship series with no less than a $10,000 regional point fund. On top of it all FASTRAK offers its teams over $150,000 for a 3 race shoot out reserved for FASTRAK MEMBERS at the end of each season.

Adding to an already blockbuster schedule for the month of September, the FASTRAK Racing Series is pleased to announce the addition of another SE/ME Touring event. Series officials have collaborated with Cleveland County Speedway officials and independent supporters to organize the 1st annual Bill Hendren Memorial scheduled for Friday September 16th. Also an official SE/ME Tour point race, the event will pay tribute to the late Bill Hendren.

Hendren, founder of Hendren Racing Engines, was a long time supporter of the FASTRAK Racing Series and the industry in general. Hendren was known as an innovator whose thoughts and opinions were highly respected and adhered to. Both the series and the speedway were elated to be selected to co-organize this event.

It is an honor to work with the Hendren family and Cleveland County Speedway as we remember our friend Bill Hendren, stated FASTRAK's Stan Lester. "Bill had a huge impact on the growth of our series and I am excited to be a part of this event."

Wythe Raceway To Host Dirt Late Model SUPER NATIONALS Double Header This Weekend!

The FASTRAK Racing Series has once again taken the lead in crate late model racing in technical inspections. By completely transforming the technical procedures and capabilities of the weekly track tech, officials all FASTRAK affiliated tracks will now be able to communicate instantly via "live video".

Everyone knows that in some instances the weekly track tech people feel like "their hands are tied" as they look to be assured they are making the right call during their weekly post race inspections. Now they will never have another doubt as they will have the ability to actually show the part(s) in question via "live video" to a FASTRAK National Tech Director and/or Regional Tech Director almost instantly to actually show them the part, should there be any question.

"I think this is one of the best things we have come up with to help everyone said FASTRAK Founder Stan Lester. I have spent countless hours to make this come to d finally after three long years of work, it's finally happened. Our technical people across the country want to do a good job and they want to be assured they are doing it correctly. Now we can help them accomplish that almost instantly via this live video. All they need is a lap top or a smartphone and we can see any part in question. I truly believe we are on to something here. No more question or doubts as this takes a ton of pressure off of our tech people across the country".

Brandon Umberger Captures FASTRAK Mountain Madness Opener @ Thunder Mountain

Hanover, West Virginia - Greenburg, Pennsylvania racer Dan Angelicchio charged through the field to finish 2nd at the end of the 40 lap FASTRAK A-Main but later inherited his first career Fastrak SE/ME Touring victory when apparent victor Jordan Dill was disqualified after a post-race inspection. The FASTRAK Racing Series sanctioned Mountain Madness opener at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Night number 2 of the $23,000 double-header weekend marked the first FASTRAK Touring Series events ever held at the West Virginia 4/10ths mile oval formerly known as Hatfield-McCoy Speedway. The event drew cars from all over the eastern United States including Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Kentucky, both Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. With the Northeast Region off for the weekend several drivers took the opportunity to venture south and measure some of the competition they are sure to face in the upcoming $250,000 FASTRAK Grand Nationals.

Formerly known as the Pro Late Model Nationals featuring pro late models, the event has now become the Dirt Late Model SUPER NATIONALS hosting both pro late models and super late models. The weekend will feature double headers for both classes having features for pro and super late models both nights. The weekend will include almost $60,000 in purse monies to be distributed among the teams.

"This is going to be an exciting weekend of dirt late model racing" stated Fred Brown, owner of Wythe. "The ULTIMATE Super Late Model event earlier this year was rained out twice so this gives them an opportunity to run two events in one weekend. The FASTRAK pro late models have always put on a tremendous weekend of racing in the past and having two complete shows that weekend should draw the top teams in the United States.

For the first time in history the FASTRAK SE/ME Dirt Late Model Tour will make its way to a tremendous double header weekend at the newly formed Thunder Mountain Speedway in Hanover WV. This Friday night August 19th will be a $2000 to win event with Saturday paying $3000 to win bringing the grand total of almost $23,000 paid to FASTRAK teams this weekend.

Heath Ellis has taken over management of the speedway and made it a tremendous success. With money machines, late model ride along's and more, Heath has brought the speedway back to life in 2011. The event is expected to be a tremendous success with the huge fan base FASTRAK has in the area. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and to get there as early as possible as it is expected to be a "sell out" crowd.

That stretch run begins this weekend at legendary Toccoa Speedway with a 40 lap/$2000 To Win event. The SHRINERS 40 - David Pritchett Memorial is a tribute to the late Toccoa promoter, his efforts at the speedway, and his commitment to the sport and the community.

Still residing as the longest running dirt track in the state, the northeast Georgia oval has hosted many highly contested FASTRAK events, and the 2011 edition should be no different as we have a three way battle at the top of the championship standings......

With Night 1 of the NC/VA Dirt Late Model Challenge complete, it was now time for Round 2 at the 1/2 mile in Rural Retreat,VA. The event at Wythe boasted $3,000 to win and also included extra prizes & bonus money from FK Rod Ends. While weather threatened the event in the afternoon, series and track officials stayed the course and we were ready for the evening's festivities.　

Friday was night #1 of the challenge which had 27 FASTRAK Pro Late Models from 5 states answer the call at the 1/2 mile oval in Lawndale, NC. It was a much anticipated event for everyone waiting because this made the first visit in 5 years for the "Premier Pro Late Models Series in the Country". Brandon Umberger, tied for 2nd in the championship standings entering the event, recovered from a broken drive shaft in hot laps to capture the pole in Shell Racing Solutions time trials for he 40 Lap A-main! After the conclusion of qualifying and the two B-Mains, won by Frankie Beard and Adam Yarbrough, the field was set for a 40 lap showdown at Cleveland County!

When the green flag dropped it was Jason Pack from Lawndale, NC jumping out in front of Umberger to lead early with contenders like David Smith, Chris Steele and Dennis Franklin in tow. The caution lights went on for the first time on lap 7 for Brian Conner after contact with the wall exiting turn 4. Double file restarts and intense racing continue behind the leaders as track position was definitely at a premium as the race progressed. the caution fell again on lap 35 with 5 to go when #88 Vic Chandler spun then stalled out in turn 1. The old saying 'cautions breed cautions" was true on the restart as an incident in turn 2 collected Sanders, Dill, Pate, Chandler & Steele! The final 5 laps went caution free to the checkered which saw Franklin & Umberger battle for 2nd & 3rd but Jason Pack would cross the line to win Night #1 of the $30,000 NC/VA Dirt Late Model Challenge, making the 6th different winner in 7 FASTRAK SE/ME Touring events!!

*After the conclusion of the event, Umberger immediately notified FASTRAK Officials that he wanted to protest the engine & fuel on the winning car of Jason Pack. Results should be following next week. Until then the finishing order is unofficial!*

The FASTRAK SE/ME Touring Series will make its first appearance in over 5 years at Lawndale NC 's Cleveland County Speedway this Friday July 22nd. The event has been hailed as the NC/VA Dirt Late Model Championship as the series heads to Wythe Raceway the next evening for a $3000 to win event and the grand finale of the championship event. The winner of the event based on points will take home a beautiful cup with the inscription NC/VA Dirt Late Model Championship engraved on it. Undoubtedly, this is something every racer would want to take home.

"We are excited about this" race stated Tami Mullis, Promotor of Cleveland County Speedway. "Having the FASTRAK tour back at CCS will be great! These guys are no doubt the toughest crate late model drivers in the nation and we look forward to them putting on a great show here".

Next Friday, July 15th, the fast ½ mile in Lawndale, NC will play host to event # 7 on the tour in a $2000 To Win battle. Then on the following day the teams will head to the high banked confines of Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee for another $2000 To Win event. With a heavy touring schedule set for July, everyone will be looking for solid finishes at both tracks in hopes of positioning themselves for a championship run.

"I am excited about visiting Cleveland County", stated FASTRAK's Jason Atkins. 'I think we will see one of the most diverse fields there. CCS is a central location for many racers. We could easily see teams from each of the following states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia." Cleveland County reunited with FASTRAK earlier this season and it looks to be an exciting event as it will be the first pro late model touring race at the facility with the Hoosier Racing Tire compounds.

Volunteer Speedway, who hosted round 2 of the FASTRAK SE Tour earlier this year, is gearing up for another summer shootout as Brandon Umberger will look to repeat his win earlier this season and vault back to the top of the championship standings. David Smith leads the standings heading into this blockbuster doubleheader as Umberger and Triple Crown winner Lee Cooper are tied for 2nd in the standings just 8 points behind the leader. Vic Chandler, Chad Hale, and Brian Connor are right outside the top 3 and all are looking for their first SE tour win of the season.

Off the heels of the most exciting Triple Crown in series history, the FASTRAK Racing Series is gearing up for its next stop on the tour. Hartwell Speedway will host the next touring event later this month on June 25^th. The Hartwell, Georgia facility is a familiar stop for many FASTRAK teams and has hosted many exciting events in recent years.

Hartwell owner/promoter Marty Lance has seen astounding support this season as fans teams across the southeast continue to deliver some of the best weekly racing the area has to offer. Lee Cooper, via his Triple Crown win, holds the SE point lead over David Smith and Brandon Umberger. These three drivers are only separated by six points heading into Hartwell as a host of other teams look to break into the top 3 and establish themselves as championship contenders.

With all of the anticipation and excitement leading into the 2011 FASTRAK Triple Crown, the race fans in and around the Blue Ridge mountain range were treated to some of the best racing action in series history as the 2011 edition of the Triple Crown produced three different race winners. Former FASTRAK SE Touring Champion Lee Cooper, though he did not win either one of the three races, captured the 2011 Triple Crown championship with consistent and consecutive performances.

The 2011 Triple Crown got a off to a slow start on Friday as rain plagued 311 Speedway and northwest North Carolina for much of Thursday and Friday leading up to the event. While the sun appeared shortly after 3pm and gave everyone hope for the event, it was simply not to meant to be as another round of rain and storms invaded the speedway shortly after the event was cancelled. The series would like to thank everyone that made an effort to support and attend Round 1 at 311 Speedway.

With inclement weather winning out on Friday, series officials traveled north into southern Virginia and, after consulting with Wythe Raceway officials, redesigned their Triple Crown format by scheduling twin races at Wythe. All of the 34 participating teams were allotted 2 laps of qualifying. Lap 1 of each competitor was assigned to Twin Race #1 and lap 2 was assigned to Twin Race #2. Due to the immense challenge of turning 2 complete races in one night, Wythe and FASTRAK officials made the night's redesigned schedule of events available to all of the participating teams.

When the time arrived for the feature, many of the teams were not on the grid for Race #1. Those teams, including fast qualifier and SE Touring leader Brandon Umberger, were reassigned to starting positions behind those on the grid. David Smith and Bobby Mays led the field to the green with Smith taking the early advantage. Caution flags flew on laps 3 and 5 respectively as teams settled into the event. Smith, the defending SE Touring Champion, paced the field up front as many of the higher qualifying teams attempted to work their way to the point. Umberger made a huge charge through the field making it up to the 4th position before experiencing mechanical failures. Smith took down Race 1 and was followed to the line by former SE Touring champion Lee Cooper, Donald Bradsher, Trent Ivey, and Chad Hale.

Race #2 brought additional intensity to the starting grid as fast qualifier Brandon Umberger and Bobby Mays shared the front row. Mays and Umberger traded paint on a couple of occasions in Race 1 as each racer had a strong car at the high banked ½ mile facility. Mays vaulted into the early race lead only to have Umberger make the pass shortly into the event. Mays then battled with Lee Cooper behind Umberger as the race neared the halfway point. The last half of the event saw Umberger increase his lead while Cooper, Mays, Kenny Peeples Jr, David Smith and Vic Chandler ran two by two for multiple laps. In the end, Umberger, who set a new track record during time trials, would continue his assault on the field in capturing Race 2. Peeples Jr, Smith, Cooper, and Ivey rounded out the top 5 finishers.

After a long and stressful but exciting night at Wythe, the teams moved to West Virginia's Princeton Speedway for Sunday's finale of the 2011 Triple Crown. Shell Racing Solutions time trials saw 39 teams take to the track for qualifying. Local standout Mike Faykus captured the pole for the 40 lap feature with Brandon Umberger joining him on the front row. Umberger vaulted into the race lead from the outside pole followed by Faykus and Aaron Barley. The d-shaped West Virginia track shined brightly as fans were immediately treat to 3 wide action at each end of the speedway. Chris Meadows quickly made his presence felt as he joined the lead group making it a 4 way battle for the lead. Umberger and Meadows traded the lead on consecutive double file restarts giving the Princeton fans plenty to cheer about. Lee Cooper and Faykus continued to battle behind the lead trio as side by racing was ongoing throughout the entire field, throughout the entire event. Near the midway point, Umberger and Barley battled again. They, along with the others, had raced hard and clean all night long. As the Umberger/Barley battle entered turn 3, Umberger's car broke loose. That resulted in both he and Barley going around. With two strong competitors restarting from the tail of the field, Kenny Peeples entered the battle for the lead. Peeples vaulted around Meadows on the ensuing double file restart and held off the challenges from Meadows and Faykus for the duration of the event to take down the 3rd leg of the FASTRAK 2011 Triple Crown.

Via his three top 5 finishes, Greer, South Carolina's Lee Cooper edged out Inman, South Carolina's David Smith by one point for the King's Crown and 2011 Triple Crown Championship. Cooper proved that consistent persistency and performance pays off as he held off a host of contenders for the traditional Memorial Day weekend triple header.

Most everyone in the racing community here in the southeast is aware of the recent and untimely passing of Toccoa Speedway General Manager & Promoter David Pritchett. David's impact and presence will continue to be felt for many years to come. While new management is expected to take over at Toccoa, series officials have elected to postpone the FASTRAK SE Touring Race at Toccoa. Triple Crown weekend is only two weeks away as many Pro Late Model teams prepare for the Memorial Day Weekend extravaganza.   The Triple Crown is a staple in the FASTRAK SE Tour schedule as numerous teams have supported these events since their inception.  A mix of familiar tracks along with the introduction of one new track set the stage for this year's running of the FASTRAK Triple Crown.

Teams are reminded that each of these events will be point races for the SE Touring Series.  In addition, as customary by the series, a special award is being created for the driver with the highest point total over the course of these three events.  A championship presentation is scheduled at Princeton Speedway as we will crown the 2011 Triple Crown champion.   On behalf of the series, the tracks, and the teams, we invite you to celebrate your Memorial Day weekend with us for the 2011 FASTRAK Triple Crown.

The 2011 Triple Crown is schedule to kick off at 311 Speedway on Friday, May 27^th.  311 Speedway is a fast ½ mile facility located Pine Hall, just north of the Triad area and right outside of Madison, NC.  They currently have one of the strongest weekly car counts in the southeast and will provide a great setting to kick off this trio of races.  On Saturday May 28^th, the FASTRAK teams head north into southwestern Virginia to visit the familiar confines of Wythe Raceway.  Located in Rural Retreat, VA Wythe has been synonymous with FASTRAK and great racing.  The high speed and multi-groove venue has hosted some of pro late model's largest and most competitive events.  Following the events at Wythe, the Triple Crown will then close out on Sunday May 29^th at Princeton Speedway.  While many FASTRAK teams have visited Princeton in the past, many will be in for a surprise as track management has taken several steps to enhance and preserve their facility.  The racing has always been exciting at the 4/10 mile oval and it will surely offer a different look for many teams.
