Pontoon Beach, IL (September 28, 2007) Billy Faust of Lebanon, Illinois claimed the final Super Late Model event of the 2007 racing season at Tri-City Speedway as he dominated the main event. Billy Faust led all twenty-five laps as he claimed his seventh feature victory of the 2007 season at Tri-City Speedway! Billy Faust jumped out to the lead at the drop of the green flag as he raced past pole sitter Terry Babb. On lap ten, the second and third place cars of Chad Zobrist and Mark Oller would tangle and spin exiting turn two. Chad Zobrist would pull off the speedway after the incident and Mark Oller was forced to restart at the rear and was later caught up in another incident when Terry Babb spun. Billy Faust only real challenge for the lead came mid-way through the event when Mark Faust pulled along side by using the high-side. Billy Faust, who had been running the very bottom, realized the faster line was around the top and moved up in front of Mark Faust on the top side. Billy Faust proceeded to pull away in the closing laps to earn the victory. Mark Faust would finish second. Michael Kloos was finish in the third position with Frankie Martin coming home fourth and Billy Laycock completed the top five.

Tommie Seets, Jr. of Brighton, Illinois picked up his first win of the 2007 racing season at Tri-City Speedway in the Modified division. Seets was the class of the field as led all twenty laps of the main event and went relatively unchallenged for the lead. Ray Walsh would finish a strong second but could never get close enough to Seets to mount a challenge. Brandon Lennox of New London, Missouri had his best run ever at Tri-City Speedway as he finished third in the main event after winning his qualifying heat race and the dash earlier in the night. Eric Faust stormed through the field to a fourth place finish after starting way back in the seventeenth starting position. Faust charge toward the front also earned him the STLRacing.com Hard Charger Award of $200. Steve Meyer, Jr. made a last turn pass on Justin Reed to complete the top five.

Rylan Dagg of Wayne City, Illinois claimed his second Crate American Racing Series Late Model feature win of 2007 at Tri-City Speedway. Dagg battled early on with Casey Montague, but pulled away to victory in the closing laps. Daniel Heck would finish third behind Montague with Aaron Heck finishing fourth and Ron Sensel was fifth.

Danny Ems of Arnold, Missouri got his first win of 2007 at Tri-City Speedway in the Street Stock division. It was a two car battle for the lead as Ems and Jason Zobrist battled it out for all fifteen laps. Zobrist would have to settle for a second place finish with Michael Jeffries taking third, Todd Erickson fourth and Brett Clardy fifth.

Chris Fisher continued his great 2007 racing season in the Factory Stock class. It was Fisher's third win in just five visits to Tri-City Speedway in 2007. Fisher of Festus, Missouri was also the track champion at I-55 Raceway in this division. David Shaw kept the pressure on Fisher the entire distance, but Fisher was too strong around the bottom and picked up the victory. T.J. Eilers would get the third spot with Cody Conner finishing fourth and Trevor Isaac fifth.

Pontoon Beach, IL (September 22, 2007) Shannon Babb of Mowequa, Illinois tasted victory for the first time in new Bob Pierce Race Cars chassis late model during the Fed Ex 50 at Tri-City Speedway. Babb started on the pole for the main event with Lebanon, Illinois' Billy Faust on the outside of the front row. At the drop of the green flag, it was Billy Faust jumping out front and pacing the field at a blistering pace. Shannon Babb gave chase, dropping back as far as ten car lengths in the early stages of the 50 lap event. As the leaders raced into lapped traffic, Shannon Babb closed in on Billy Faust for the lead. On lap fifteen, Shannon Babb found an opening and swept passed Billy Faust and into the lead. Shannon Babb set a scorching pace as he went on to lap all but ten cars on the 3/8 mile surface. Billy Faust never lost site of the leader and made it interesting in the closing laps as they raced through the lapped cars. However, Shannon Babb proved too tough and claimed the $10,000 top prize in the Fed Ex 50. Billy Faust would earn second with Billy Moyer fininshing third. Rodney Melvin would race to a fourth place finish with Randy Korte completing the top five.

Pontoon Beach, IL (September 14, 2007) Tri-City Speedway hosted their Season Championship Night in which Champions for the 2007 racing season were crowned in all five divisions. There were 140 race cars on hand in the five divisions to compete in the night's events. In the Late Model division, Bryan Collins of Elsberry, Missouri started the night with a slim nine point lead in the championship point standings over Mark Faust. Collins was able to secure the championship with a dominating performance as he stormed to his fourth victory of the 2007 season at Tri-City Speedway. Collins led all twenty-five laps of the main event and was mostly unchallenged for the win. Billy Faust was able to get close to Collins while they were in heavy lapped traffic, but once Collins cleared the lapped cars, he pulled away and earned a convincing victory. Billy Faust took second, Tim Manville crossed the line in third with Rick Salter taking fourth and Rusty Griffaw rounded out the top five.

Marty Smith, Jr. of Troy, Illinois claimed the Modified Championship with his second place finish in the main event. Bobby Martintoni, who started the night just twelve points behind Smith, jumped to the early lead in the main event. Smith faded all the way back to fifth in the early laps. After falling back, Smith moved to the top and came flying to the front. Just three laps after moving to the top, Smith took the lead from Martintoni. Mike Harrison went to the top as well after watching Smith go by him. Harrison followed Smith past Martintoni and into the second position. The two raced nose to tail around the top with Martintoni challenging around the bottom. As they reached lapped traffic, Harrison made a strong move through the middle of the track to sweep past Smith and several lapped cars to take the lead. Harrison would hold on and take the win with Smith finishing second and Martintoni third. Tim Hancock would finish fourth and Kyle Byerline completed the top five.

Nick Lyons of Centralia, Illinois wrapped up the championship in the CARS Late Model division with his seventh victory of the 2007 season at Tri-City Speedway. Lyons led all twenty laps of the main event as Rylan Dagg tried to mount a challenge by using the middle groove. But as the laps went by, his line began to go away. Mark Oller, who started in the middle of the pack, raced his way toward the front and moved past Dagg with three laps remaining to take over the second spot, but ran out of laps to chase down Lyons. Ron Sensel also got by Dagg in the closing laps to finish third. Dagg would finish fourth with Casey Montague completing the top five.

Josh Jackson of South Roxana, Illinois also wrapped up the Street Stock Championship with a victory. It was Jackson's fourth victory of the 2007 season at Tri-City Speedway. Tommy Gegg battled with Jackson for most of the event for the top spot, but had to settle for the second spot. Sam Kizer would finish third, with Jim Bell fourth and Ricky Huebner fifth.

Ryan Eilers of Highland, Illinois earned the Factory Stock Championship. Eilers battled fiercly with Chris Fisher in the main event as the two raced side-by-side lap after lap. Fisher would edge out Eilers at the finish line to steal a little of the thunder from Eiler's championship clinching event. David Shaw would finish third with Aaron Wood fourth and Conrad Miner completed the top five.

Red-Hot Phillips Bags Second Straight, 60^th Career MARS DIRTcar Series Victory Wednesday Night At Tri-City Speedway

PONTOON BEACH, IL – Aug. 22, 2007 – Terry Phillips continued his red-hot month of August, winning Wednesday night’s 40-lap MARS DIRTcar Series/UMP DIRTcar Racing Late Model Shootout at Tri-City Speedway.

The $5,000 triumph was Phillips’s second consecutive on the MARS tour after he went winless in the first 11 events of the 2007 season. He broke through for his initial victory on Aug. 11 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.

Phillips, 41, of Springfield, Mo., was the evening’s dominant force. He blasted into the lead from the outside pole when the A-Main began and never looked back, leading every lap around the three-eighths-mile oval.

Will Vaught of Crane, Mo., who started fourth, made a late run at the top prize, but Phillips calmly stuck to the inside groove and beat the up-and-coming 20-year-old to the finish line.

Vaught, who earned 2006 MARS Rookie of the Year honors, settled for second place. The run elevated the young driver to the MARS points lead for the first time in his career – by three points over four-time tour champion Bill Frye of Greenbrier, Ark., who advanced from the 14^th starting spot to finish third, and 15 points over three-time champion Phillips.

Two-time UMP DIRTcar Racing Summernationals champion Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill., finished fourth and 2006 UMP Late Model national champ Randy Korte of Highland, Ill., placed fifth.

Current UMP Late Model national points leader Wes Steidinger of Fairbury, Ill., finished sixth.

Phillips’s win came behind the wheel of an Andy’s Frozen Custard-sponsored GRT car that he debuted two weeks earlier at Lucas Oil Speedway. He also nearly drove the car to a $46,000 victory on Aug. 18 in the ‘Topless 100’ at Batesville Speedway in Locust Grove, Ark.; he lost the lead with only three laps to go due to a flat tire.

Phillips also reached a milestone on the MARS tour Wednesday night, recording his alltime series-leading 60^th career win.

Springfield, Mo.’s Jeremy Payne, who drives a car from Phillips’s stable, entered the event ranked fourth in the MARS points standings, but he fell to fifth after his involvement in an accident left him with an 18^th-place finish.

Heat winners were Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., Vaught, Jack Sullivan of Greenbrier, Ark., and Phillips, and Mark Faust of Brees, Ill., and Michael Kloos of Trenton, Ill., captured the B-Mains.

Moyer discovered terminal mechanical trouble in his machine after winning the first heat, forcing him to only take the A-Main green flag in his backup machine.

A four-race MARS DIRTcar Series swing continues on Thursday night (Aug. 23) at Poplar Bluff (Mo.) Speedway; Friday night (Aug. 24) at Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway; and Saturday night (Aug. 25) at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo.

Pontoon Beach, IL (August 17, 2007) Randy Korte of Highland, IL won his second Super Late Model main event of the season at Tri-City Speedway as he led all twenty-five laps of the main event enroute to victory. Korte, who had spent the morning at Ft. Knox, KY watching his son Dustin Korte graduate from US Army Basic Training, had to hold off a late surge from current point leader Bryan Collins. Collins second place finish gives him a slim eleven point lead over Mark Faust (who finished fourth) for the Tri-City Speedway Track Championship in the Super Late Model division. Six time 2007 Tri-City Speedway feature winner Billy Faust battled Collins for the second spot, but had to settle for a third place finish. Kyle Steffens late season surge continued as he got another top five finish as he took fifth behind Mark Faust.

NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader made a surprise visit to Tri-City Speedway and thrilled the fans with a last lap pass for the win in his heat race followed by a big win in the dash as well. However, Mike Harrison, who had six modified feature wins this season at Tri-City Speedway starting the night, held Schrader off in a classic duel to earn his seventh victory of the season. Harrison led all twenty laps of the main event, but Schrader continously pressured Harrison for the lead throughout the event. Tommie Seets, Jr. crossed the finish line in third with Marty Smith, Jr. fourth and Robbie Eilers completed the top five. Marty Smith, Jr. now holds a fifteen point lead over Bobby Martintoni for the Tri-City Speedway Track Championship in the Modified division.

Nick Lyons secured his sixth victory of the season at Tri-City Speedway in the CARS Late Model division. Lyons had opened a big lead early in the event, but Mark Oller closed the event out with a strong run at the end and just came up short at the finish line and had to settle for second. Ron Sensel took third with Rylan Dagg fourth and Garrett Britton fifth. Lyons increased his point lead over Dagg and now leads by 43 points. Sensel sits another ten points behind Dagg in third for the CARS track championship at Tri-City Speedway.

Andy Beavers won his first ever Street Stock main event in a photo finish over Richie Gabriel. The event featured eight cars battling in a pack for the lead with two and three wide battles over the entire fifteen lap distance. Ricky Huebner took the third position with Danny Ems fourth and Josh Jackson fifth. Josh Jackson now holds a twenty-two point lead over Ricky Huebner in the chase for the Street Stock Championship at Tri-City Speedway.

David Shaw cruised to his third Factory Stock feature win over Ryan Eilers. Rob Shaw took the third spot with Bobby Funderburk fourth and T.J. Eilers fifth. Ryan Eilers leads the Factory Stock point standings at Tri-City Speedway with a thirty-four point lead over David Shaw.

Pontoon Beach, IL (August 10, 2007) Billy Faust of Lebanon, IL took the lead at the drop of the green flag and held off the challenges of Randy Korte for the entire twenty-five lap distance in the main event. The victory was Faust's sixth win in just eleven starts at Tri-City Speedway this season. Brian Diveley came home in the third spot in his first ever visit to the newly reconfigured 3/8 mile track. Billy Laycock took the fourth spot and earned the STLRacing.com Hard Charger Award as he moved up the most positions from where he started over all the other drivers. Kyle Steffens rounded out the top five.

Mike Harrison of Highland, IL also earned his sixth win of the 2007 racing season at Tri-City Speedway in the Modified division. Harrison's victory was worth $2,000 as it was the opening event of the MO/IL Modified Challenge which was to wrap up Saturday night at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO. Bobby Martintoni took the second spot with Kyle Byerline finishing third. Marty Smith, Jr. was fourth with Robbie Eilers completing the top five.

Mark Oller of Highland, IL paced all twenty laps of the CARS Late Model main event and earned his second consecutive win. Daniel Heck outlasted his brother to earn the second spot with Aaron Heck taking third. Ron Sensel finished fourth and Rylan Dagg was fifth.

Tommy Gegg of Alton, IL won his sixth feature event of the season at Tri-City Speedway in the Street Stock division. Josh Jackson was second with Jimmy Bell third. Ricky Huebner crossed the line in fourth with Morris Booth finishing fifth.

Ryan Eilers of Highland, IL won the Factory Stock main event which was his fifth win of the season at Tri-City Speedway. Chris Fisher took the second spot with Rob Shaw finishing in third just ahead of his brother David Shaw. Bobby Funderburk rounded out the top five.

Pontoon Beach, IL (August 3, 2007) Billy Faust of Lebanon, IL won his fifth Super Late Model main event of the 2007 racing season at Tri-City Speedway as he slipped underneath Randy Korte on lap eleven to take the lead and then went on to victory. Korte then had to hold off Mark Faust to finish second with Tim Ratajczyk taking fourth and Mark Voigt completed the top five.

Ray Walsh of St. Louis, MO powered his way around the high side to victory in the Modified division, but not without drama in the final lap. Walsh moved past early leader Mike Harrison immediately after an early caution and appeared to be on his way to a convincing win, but on the final lap Walsh's car began to experience problems with the rear-end gear. Walsh had to nurse his car around turns three and four allowing Harrison to almost steal the win. Tommie Seets, Jr. would finish third with Marty Smith, Jr. fourth and Matt Goulden moved up from the twelfth starting spot to round out the top five.

Mark Oller posted a convincing victory in the CARS Late Model division. Oller led all twenty laps as he held of the challenges of Danny Jolly. Ron Sensel took the third spot with Brian McCormick fourth and Bobby Dauderman fifth.

Josh Jackson led all fifteen laps of the Street Stock main event as he took the win over Jim Bell. Andy Beavers was third with Sam Kizer fourth and Morris Booth fifth. Eric Rensing earned the STLRacing.com Hard Charger Award as he finished ninth after starting fifteenth.

David Shaw outdueled his brother Rob Shaw to earn the win in the Factory Stock division. Ryan Eilers was third, Nick Knebel fourth and Andy Jackson fifth.

Pontoon Beach, IL (July 20, 2007) Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR picked up the $10,000 victory at Tri-City Speedway's Lucas Oils Series Miller Lite 50. Don O'Neal took the lead at the drop of the green flag from his front row pole starting position and led the first fifteen circuits. Moyer, who started third, slipped back to fifth in the first stages of the event but found the fast line around the 3/8 mile oval after about ten laps and started moving back toward the front. Once Moyer got to the lead, he held off all challenges and led the last half of the event to earn the win.

Shannon Babb, who started on the outside of the front row, battled early on with O'Neal for the lead, then slipped back to fifth before coming on in the later laps and earning a third place finish behind O'Neal.

Terry English, who had to use a provisional to earn a starting spot in the main event, charged through the field and picked up a fourth place finish.

Earl Pearson, Jr. finally got things going in the closing laps and passed several cars near the end to earn the fifth position.

Bryan Collins, the defending track point champion at Tri-City Speedway had a stellar run as he started in the twentieth position and charged all the way up to the third position in the first twelve laps. However, some suspension damage to his car late in the race would cost him several spots as he ended up eighth at the checkered flag.

A stellar field of thirty-eight UMP DIRTcar Modifieds were on hand at Tri-City Speedway for the $1,000 to win special event. Fans were treated to a spectacular race Jeff Leka took the early lead from pole sitter Chad Kinder. Leka led the first fought off the challenges off Kinder and then Mike Harrison as he led the first eleven circuits of the twenty-five lap main event. Harrison would finally make a successful bid for the lead on lap twelve after several previous attempts failed. Harrison of Highland, IL then pulled away to a comfortable lead but left eight other cars running in a pack for the second spot. In the final two laps, those eight cars swapped positions around more times than anyone could count. Leka would get a second place finish in the event and Scott Weber rallied back to a third place finish after running as far back as eighth with just five laps remaining. Marty Smith, Jr. made a spectacular save down the back-stretch on the final lap as he got turned into the outside wall causing his car to climb the wall. The fans in the grandstands could only see the roof of his car as it almost got upside down on the wall, but it seemed he never got out of the gas and brought the car back down off the wall and held off the field for a fourth place finish. Kinder would complete the top five.

Ron Sensel picked up his first career crate late model feature win with a sensational last lap pass on Nick Lyons. Sensel used the high side and drove the car in very deep into the turns on the final lap and just edged Lyons at the start/finish line for the victory. Lyons would finish second with Ray Emling, Jr. taking third. Darin Walker and Garrett Britton would compete the top five. Britton earned the STLRacing.com Hard Charger Award as he passed the most cars in the feature event with his fifth place finish after starting fifteenth.

Pontoon Beach, IL (July 13, 2007) Randy Korte of Highland, IL brought home the victory in the Super Late Model division main event. Korte fought side-by-side with Craig Smith for the first eight laps of the main event before the two made contact down the back stretch which resulted in a flattened left rear tire on Smith's machine. Korte took control from there and led the remaining distance to earn the victory. Billy Faust made a late race charge to chase Korte down at the end but ran out of laps and settled for a second place finish. Bryan Collins came home third with Michael Kloos fourth and Mark Voigt fifth.

A big field of thirty-six cars were on hand to battle in the Modified division. Mike Harrison of Highland, IL topped the action in the main event as he held off Scott Weber for the victory. Marty Smith, Jr. came home third with Mark Miner fourth and Tim Hancock fifth.

Ray Emling, Jr. of DuQuoin, IL earned his first CARS Late Model feature win of the season at Tri-City Speedway. Nick Lyons, who started dead last in the main event, slipped through traffic and had the lead before ten laps were complete, but Lyons found trouble shortly after taking the lead as he clipped one of the large tires bordering the infield of the track breaking a left front tie rod which caused steering problems on his car. Emling took back over the lead and then had to hold off Bobby Daudermann for the win. Daudermann pulled along side Emling on the final lap but came up just short at the start/finish line and settled for second. Rylan Dagg came home third with Matt Weidner fourth and Ron Sensel fifth.

Defending Street Stock Champion Ricky Huebner finally got his first win of the 2007 racing season at Tri-City Speedway as he bested second place finisher Andy Beavers. Danny Ems took the third spot with Josh Jackson fourth and Richie Gabriel fifth.

Rob Shaw earned the win in the Factory Stock division. Justin Shaw was second and Ryan Eilers third.

PONTOON BEACH, IL – July 6, 2007 – Don O'Neal is ready for the stretch run of the 2007 UMP DIRTcar Racing Summernationals.

After two days away from the tour grind – for a scheduled off day and a rainout – the Martinsville , Ind. , came back recharged on Friday night and drove to a powerful victory in the 40-lap A-Main at Tri-City Speedway.

It was the third victory of this year's Summernationals for O'Neal, whose 35 career tour checkered flags rank him third on the alltime win list behind Billy Moyer of Batesville , Ark. (62) and Moweaqua , Ill. 's Babb (51). He had never before captured a series event at the Tri-City facility.

The $10,000 triumph brought O'Neal closer to UMP DIRTcar Racing Summernationals points leader Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville , Ill. , who charged to a fifth-place finish after qualifying through a B-Main.

It wasn't an easy win for O'Neal, the 2004 Summernationals champion. He had to hold off the advances of Moyer and Brian Shirley of Chatham , Ill. , who finished second and third, respectively, to reach the checkered flag first.

Jimmy Mars of Menononie , Wis. , placed fourth and Erb was fifth.

Summernationals frustration continued for Mike Marlar of Winfield , Tenn. , whose hopes for the tour title have been disintegrating over the past week. He was credited with a last-place finish (22nd) after an early tangle with Randy Korte of Highland , Ill. , prompted him to make contact with Korte's car under caution, earning him a black flag from UMP officials.

Forty-six dirt Late Models entered the first-ever Summernationals event run on Tri-City's new three-eighths-mile layout. The tour raced in previous years on the facility's big half-mile track, which Tri-City owner Kevin Gundaker replaced with a smaller oval for the 2007 season.

Heat winners were Moyer, Jeep VanWormer of Pinconning, Mich. , O'Neal and Mars, and the B-Mains were captured by Jason Feger of Springfield , Ill. , and Erb.

Pontoon Beach, IL (July 6, 2007) Bobby Martintoni topped a stellar field of UMP Modifieds as he took the victory in the twenty-five lap main event. Martintoni moved past early leader Brent Mullins on lap eleven and then held off the hard charging Chad Kinder in the closing laps to earn the win. Mullins took the third spot. Mike Harrison took the fourth position with Jeff Leka completing the top five. There were battles all over the track as cars swapped spots continuously all throughout the main event.

Tommy Gegg took the victory in the Street Stock division as he topped Josh Jackson. Andy Beavers took the third spot with Richie Gabriel taking fourth and Morris Booth completed the top five.

Bob Zbinden took the Factory Stock win over David Shaw and Ryan Eilers. Justin Shaw took fourth with Chris Fisher rounding out the top five.

Pontoon Beach, IL (June 15, 2007) Mark Faust of Breese, IL brought his broom with him and swept the night's action in the Super Late Model division. Faust led all twenty-five laps of the main event, but had Mark Voigt glued to his rear bumper throughout the entire event. Voigt couldn't find a way past Faust and settled for the second spot. Bryan Collins also battled for the lead early on in the main event, but mechanical problems would end his night early. Rusty Griffaw would take the third spot as he held off Tim Ratajczyk who was fourth. Craig Smith would round out the top five.

Tim Hancock of Mt. Olive, IL won his first main event of the 2007 season at Tri-City Speedway. Hancock used the middle groove to slide past early leader Ray Walsh. Then Hancock had his hands full with Bobby Martintoni in the closing laps as Martintoni tried high and low to get by Hancock but would come up short and cross the line in second. Kelly Devall was on the move late in the race as he picked up several spots in the closing laps to finish third. Robbie Eilers would cross the line in fourth with Ray Walsh completing the top five.

Mark Oller slipped under Rylan Dagg with eight laps remaining and pulled away to what appeared to be a convincing win the CARS Late Model division. However, when Oller rolled onto the scales after the race, his car came up 98lbs short of the minimum required weight. Apparently Oller had changed from the 602 crate motor to the 604 crate motor during the week and didn't take into account the 150 additional pounds required when running the 604 engine. Oller was therefore disqualified and the win was given to second place finisher Rylan Dagg of Wayne City, IL. This was Dagg's first feature win in any class in over six years. Dagg also made a long haul just to get to the races as his job had him working in Louisiana and Mississippi this past week and he drove back all day on Friday in order to race. Ron Sensel would wind up with the second place finish. Casey Montague was third with Ray Emling, Jr. fourth and John Seets, Sr. completing the top five. John Seets, Sr. took over Bart Reese's ride for the main event after Reese was involved in accident in his heat race. Seets started at the very back of the seventeen car field and made a good run to a top five finish.

Josh Jackson of South Roxana, IL won the Street Stock feature after making a move past Sam Kizer half way through the event. The Street Stocks continue to put on an outstanding show with several drivers always battling at the front. Jackson held of some tough challenges from Sam Kizer, Tim Driscoll, Richie Gabriel and Ricky Huebner. Kizer would cross the line in second, with Driscoll finishing third, Huebner fourth and Gabriel fifth.

Rob Shaw won the Factory Stock main event as he pulled away to a convincing win. Ryan Eilers would finish second. Justin Shaw was third with Aaron Wood fourth and David Shaw fifth.

Pontoon Beach, IL (June 8, 2007) A large field of 143 racecars packed the pit area at Tri-City Speedway and provided some great racing action. Billy Faust of Lebanon, IL took the victory in the Super Late Model division. Bryan Collins took the lead at the drop of the green flag and led much of the event, but lapped traffic came into play and Billy Faust found the better line through traffic to wrestle the lead from Collins. Collins would take the second spot with Craig Smith charging from the eighth starting position to finish third. Rusty Griffaw would finish fourth with Mark Voigt rounding out the top five.

The modified division provided one of the best features ever on the new 3/8 mile track as Marty Smith, Jr. and Tim Hancock swapped the lead time after time and never touched each other. For several laps, Smith would take the lead in turns one and two, then Hancock would take it back in turns three and four. Smith found the right line in the final three laps and went on to take the win. Hancock would finish second. Kyle Byerline would edged Bobby Martintoni at the line for third and Jim Werner followed Martintoni across the line for fifth.

Nick Lyons of Centralia, IL won his third CARS Late Model feature event of the season at Tri-City Speedway. Lyons battled with Darin Walker for all twenty laps. Walker would settle for second. Danny Jolly put on a late race charge and made it a three-way battle up front in the final laps, but came up just short and took the third position. Ron Myers would finish with a nose out in front of Rylan Dagg for the fourth spot.

Richie Gabriel claimed the Street Stock main event. Gabriel had to hold off Josh Jackson at the end as Jackson could pull along side of Gabriel, but couldn't complete the pass. Andy Beavers took the third spot with Ricky Huebner finishing fourth and Jim Bell completing the top five.

Ryan Eilers took the win in the Factory Stock division as he bested the brothers of Rob & David Shaw who finished second and third. Justin Shaw would finish fourth with Joshua James completing the top five.

Hot Action: WoO Drivers Kinser, Lasoski and Schatz Set to Hit the New High Banked 3/8's for the First Time at Tri-City June 14

PONTOON BEACH, Ill. -- Which driver will set the new track record at Tri-City Speedway?

With an all new track configuration, the slate has been swept clean and new records are just waiting to be set at Tri-City Speedway come Thursday, June 14. That's the night that Winged Sprint Cars will hit the track for the first time since the speedway was changed from a 1/2 mile track to a 3/8 mile high-banked racing surface.

Tri-City Speedway and DuPont welcome the World of Outlaws Sprint Series and all of its top-notch drivers as they initiate the new track. Fans will be treated to an exciting night of high-speed action as drivers take to the track for the first time. Although some would call this an even playing field because the experience will be new for everyone, with its high-banked corners, the track itself is anything but level and with $10,000 on the line for the 40 lap feature event, it's anyone's guess who will be master of the clay at the end of the night.

Tickets are still available for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Reserved seats in the top eight rows are $32, general admission is $30 and kids under 12 get a free general admission ticket when an adult general admission ticket is purchased. Pit passes are $35.

Pit Gates open at 3pm for this event, which is a make up for the previously rained-out night of May 4. General Admission gates open at 5pm with hot laps at 6:30 and qualifying at 7pm.

Besides the on-track action, there are many more reasons to mark this date on your calendar, and be sure to arrive early!

- Drivers Steve Kinser, Danny Lasoski, Donny Schatz and others will be participating in an autograph session from 5:30-6:00.

Pontoon Beach, IL (May 25, 2007) Billy Faust of Lebanon, IL claimed his third Late Model feature of the young 2007 racing season at Tri-City Speedway. Faust ripped past early leader Randy Korte just eight laps into the event and went on to victory. Rick Salter, who currently leads the Late Model point standings at Tri-City Speedway came home in the third position with Michael Kloos taking fourth and Rusty Griffaw completed the top five.

The Modified division saw Tim Hancock lead the majority of the event. However, Mike Harrison found the fast line around the top in the closing laps and raced by Hancock and went on to victory. Hancock would settle for the second spot, Bobby Martintoni took the third position with Brent Mullins fourth and Marty Smith, Jr. rounded out the top five.

Todd Erickson led much of the race in the early going then Sam Kizer led a few laps in the middle as well. With two and three wide racing, the top seven cars continously swapped spots throughout the event. In the end Richie Gabriel took the lead and held on to win at the line over Danny Ems. Sam Kizer took the third spot with Ricky Huebner finishing fourth and Josh Jackson fifth. Todd Erickson ended up sixth and Leo Dublo seventh.

Rob Shaw, Josh James, Ryan Eilers and David Shaw put on a great battle in the Factory Stock division. All four battled the entire distance and Rob Shaw held on for the win at the line. Josh James was second, Ryan Eilers third and David Shaw fourth. Jon Ripperda completed the top five.

Pontoon Beach, IL (May 18, 2007) Bryan Collins of Elsberry, MO claimed his first win of the 2007 racing season at Tri-City Speedway in the Super Late Model Division. Collins, who was the 2006 Tri-City Speedway Super Late Model Track Champion, used the high side to move past early leader Craig Smith just eight laps into the event. Billy Faust, who had won the last two Super Late Model main events at Tri-City Speedway, moved in on Collins and was challenging for the lead for several laps before he got sideways in turn four and Collins opened up a half straightaway lead. Collins would take the win by a comfortable margin, Billy Faust recovered from his near spin to finish second. Tim Ratajczyk took the third spot with Craig Smith taking fourth and Mark Voigt rounded out the top five.

Mike Harrison Highland, IL held off Brent Mullins for the entire twenty lap distance to earn the Modified feature victory. Mullins and Harrison battled side by side throughout the event but once Harrison went to the top of the track in the closing laps, he took control and went on to victory. Marty Smith, Jr. claimed the third spot as he was in a three way battle with Tim Hancock and Bobby Martintoni who finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Nick Lyons of Centralia, IL took the lead from Ray Emling, Jr. at the half way point and pulled away to earn the win in the CARS Late Model division. Rylan Dagg slipped past Darin Walker in the closing laps to take the third spot. B.J. Deal would follow Walker across the line to complete the top five.

Tommy Gegg of Alton, IL held off the hard charging Ricky Huebner and claimed the victory in the Street Stock division. Josh Jackson, Sam Kizer and Robbie Benson rounded out the top five.

Rob Shaw of Highland, IL powered his Lightning McQueen themed Factory Stock car to victory as he held off his brother David Shaw. Aaron Wood took the third position, Ryan Eilers was fourth and Joshua James completed the top five.

Pontoon Beach, IL (May 15, 2007) Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL will host it's first big event on the newly reconfigured 3/8 mile dirt oval on Sunday, May 27th. The FED-EX 50 will feature the U.M.P. DirtCar Series Late Models battling for a $10,000 top prize with $700 to start in the twenty-four car field.

Some of the top dirt late model drivers in the country have the race on their schedule including Scott Bloomquist, Billy Moyer, Steve Francis, Shannon Babb, Brian Birkhofer, Chubb Frank, Randy Korte, Eric Jacobsen, Jimmy Mars, Bart Hartman, Darrin Miller, Bryan Collins, Steve Sheppard, Don O'Neal, Earl Pearson, Jr. along with NASCAR star Ken Schrader.

Hooters of America's famous Hooters Girls will be on hand for the Victory Lane ceremonies as well as doing fan giveaways. There will also be a late model simulator and a video wall fan scan. Local radio station Z107.7 will be doing a live remote with ticket giveaways!

There will be an autograph session featuring Billy Moyer, Shannon Babb, Brian Birkhofer, Darrin Miller, Ken Schrader and many more!

The U.M.P. DirtCar Series Modifieds will also be racing for $1,000 to win and the U.M.P. Factory Stocks will be going for $300 to win!

Pontoon Beach, IL (May 11, 2007) Billy Faust of Lebanon, IL claimed his second Super Late Model main event win of the young season at Tri-City Speedway. It was Mark Faust that jumped out to the early lead in the event, but after dropping back to fourth in the early laps, Billy Faust fought back to battle Mark Faust for the lead on lap seventeen. Shortly after losing the lead to Billy Faust, Mark Faust would suffer mechanical problems and have to pull off the speedway. Rick Salter found the fast line around the track in the closing laps and moved past Ed Dixon with just a couple of laps left to claim the second spot. Dixon crossed the line in third with Rusty Griffaw taking fourth and Dick Taylor was fifth.

Highland, Illinois' Mike Harrison picked up the Modified feature win. Harrison took the lead on the start, but had to hold off the challenge of Bobby Martintoni in the first half of the event and then Brent Mullins took over the second spot and reeled in Harrison and the two battled right down to the checkered flag. Martintoni would take third as he just held off Marty Smith, Jr. who ended up fourth and J.D. Rottler completed the top five.

Darin Walker claimed his second C.A.R.S. Late Model win of the season at Tri-City Speedway. Nick Lyons would lead the early laps but he would have to give up the lead after contact with Brian McCormick forced him into the pit area during a caution. Lyons would return to finish the event. Mark Oller and Darin Walker would battle for the lead the rest of the way with Walker taking the win and Oller coming home second. Brian McCormick was third, Matt Weidner fourth and Danny Jolly completed the top five.

Richie Gabriel followed Sam Kizer around the low side for the first twelve laps of the Street Stock main event before moving to the highside and motoring past Kizer to take the win in the fifteen lap main event. Andy Beavers took the third spot with Steve Barach finish fourth. Ricky Huebner battled through traffic as he passed a ton of cars to finish fifth after just making the main event through the semi feature.

David Shaw moved past his brother Rob Shaw half way through the event and claimed his first ever Factory Stock main event win at Tri-City Speedway. Joshua James came home third with Ryan Eilers fourth and Dustin Korte completed the top five.

St. Charles, MO (May 11, 2007) Denny's Restaurants has come onboard as a sponsor for Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL and Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO. Both tracks are owned and operated by G&G Motorsports.

Denny's will be on hand at Lake Ozark Speedway for the World of Outlaw Sprint Car event this Saturday night handing out special coupons and other items.

Pontoon Beach, IL (April 27, 2007) The new 3/8 mile track at Tri-City Speedway provided the fans with a great night of racing as the main events in all five divisions wasn't decided until the final laps.

The Super Late Model division saw a classic battle up front between Randy Korte, Billy Faust and Bryan Collins. Korte led most of the early going before Collins made a move in lapped traffic to take over the top spot. The three continued side-by-side racing and weaving through lapped traffic before Billy Faust got by Collins in lapped traffic. All 3 cross the line for the checkered flag together with Billy Faust taking the win. Collins came home in the second position with Korte taking third. Mark Faust charged through the field to a fourth place finish with Billy Laycock rounding out the top five.

Darin Walker came from the eighth starting spot to win the Crate American Racing Series Late Model feature! Nick Lyons led for most of the event but Walker worked his way through traffic and took the lead from Lyons in the closing laps to earn the win. Lyons settled for the second spot with Aaron Heck taking third, Ron Sensel came home fourth and Rylan Dagg completed the top five.

In the Modified division, what a battle with Bobby Martintoni, Brent Mullins, Matt Mevert & Marty Smith, Jr. Those four race side-by-side, two-by-two and three wide for the lead for almost the entire twenty lap distance. Unfortunately Smith got the flat near the end after just taking over the top spot. Martintoni held off everyone at the end to claim the victory. Brent Mullins crossed the line second, with Matt Mevert third. Ray Walsh and Tim Hancock stormed through the field as they came from the ninteenth and twentieth starting spots to finish fourth and fifth!

The Street Stock battle for the win was awesome as well. There were five cars battling for the lead for all fifteen laps. The race wasn't decided until they reached the finish line with Josh Jackson and Richie Gabriel crossing the line in a photo finish! Jackson finished with just a bumper out in front of Gabriel to earn the win. Andy Beavers crossed the line in third, with Tommy Gegg finishing fourth and Ricky Huebner completed the top five.

Ryan Eilers picked up his second straight Factory Stock win as he battled with David and Rob Shaw for the top spot. Eilers and David Shaw swapped the lead several times in the closing laps, but in the end, Eilers held on to take the victory. David Shaw was second, Rob Shaw third, Joshua James fourth and Evan Johnson fifth.

Pontoon Beach, IL (April 20, 2007) After Mother Nature forced Tri-City Speedway to cancel the first two weeks of the racing season, the completely reworked racetrack opened to rave reviews on Friday, April 20th. Over the winter, the track was rebuilt from a 1/2 & 1/4 mile ovals to a single 3/8 mile oval banked 10 degrees. The new track also featured all new lighting and many other improvements. The racers came out in force to try out the new track, as 155 cars entered in the five divisions. A huge crowd also came out to check out opening night, which turned out to be the second largest crowd in the three year ownership of the facility by G&G Motorsports.

In the Super Late Model division, Mark Voigt of Marine, IL topped a stellar thirty car field to earn the first late model feature victory on the new track. Elsberry, MO's Bryan Collins took the early lead and led a majority of the event before drive shaft problems ended his night prematurely. Voigt had to battle with Festus, MO's Rusty Griffaw in the closing laps, but Voigt used the high side to take the victory. Griffaw came home second, Mark Faust took third, Nick Baumann was fourth and Rick Salter completed the top five. Tim Ratajczyk earned the STLRacing.com Hard Charger Award as he came home in seventh place after starting in the twenty-second starting position.

One of the best modified drivers in the country just happens to reside in St. Louis, MO and he put on a spectacular show to earn the first ever modified feature win on the new track. Ray Walsh, better known as "THE SHOWSTOPPER", battled lap after lap with another of the top modified drivers in the country, Mike Harrison of Highland, IL. Brent Mullins came home in the third spot, with Marty Smith Jr taking fourth and Jeff Lebaube completing the top five.

The Crate American Racing Series (CARS) Late Models provided an exciting three way battle for the top spot throughout the feature event as Mark Oller, Nick Lyons and BJ Deal fought it out lap after lap. Oller of Highland, IL held off Lyons on the final circuit to take the win. Deal took third, Bryan McCormick was fourth and Casey Montague was fifth.

Tommy Gegg took the victory in the Street Stock division. Gegg held off the challenges of Sam Kizer to earn the win. Eric Rensing came home in the third position with Andy Beavers taking fourth and Ricky Huebner was fifth.

Ryan Eilers earned the Factory Stock main event as he battled lap after lap with Aaron Wood. Rob Shaw took the third spot with Joshua James taking fourth and Jon Ripperda completing the top five.

Pontoon Beach, IL (March 20, 2007) Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL has decided to push the start of their 2007 racing season back one week. Inclement weather over the last week has delayed construction on concrete wall that is going up around the new 3/8 mile oval.

The season will kick off with an Open Practice on Sunday, April 1st from 1-5pm (Pit Gates Open at 11:00). General Admission will be FREE.

Then, Opening Night will be Friday, April 6th with "Kenny Wallace Night" with Kenny Wallace racing his modified. Special Opening Ceremonies Tribute to the History of Tri-City Speedway.

The half-mile and quarter-mile tracks have been re-configured into one 3/8 mile track. There will be all new Musco Lighting installed and a concrete wall will be going up around the outside of the track soon.

Tri-City action begins with a Racer's Swap Meet on March 18, followed by a Play Day on March 25. The season opener on March 30 with Friday night racing each week throughout the summer and into fall.

Tri-City Speedway will once again host several special events throughout the season with the first on being on April 13th with the Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealers presents the Mid-American Racing Series late models featuring some of the best drivers in the Midwest and surrounding areas.

On Friday, May 4th, the World of Outlaws Sprints will make a stop at Tri-City Speedway. The POWRi Midgets will also be competing making a full night of open wheel action. Tickets are on sale now and you can get yours by calling 800-617-9077.

The 2nd Annual Fed-Ex 50 will take place over the Memorial Day weekend and will be run on Sunday, May 27th. $10,000 will be up for grabs for the winner of this dirt late model event!

Open Wheel action returns to Tri-City Speedway on Thursday, June 14th as 410 Winged Sprint Cars and POWRi Midgets take to the track!

On Friday, July 6th the most grueling tour in dirt late model racing comes to Tri-City Speedway as the UMP Summer Nationals rolls in. Some of the top drivers from around the country will go head-to-head with some of the best Missouri & Illinois drivers.

Just two weeks later on July 20th, the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series will make their only visit of 2007 to the immediate St. Louis area. This top Nationals touring series brings many of the top drivers from all around the country and features a show you just don't want to miss.

Tri-City Speedway closes out the 2007 racing season with over a month of special events throughout September and October. On August 31st, a Labor Day weekend special event will be ran with details coming soon. On September 7th, Tri-City Speedway will have their Season Championships for all divisions.

On September 21st and 22nd, the 3rd Annual Modified Mania will be run with big money on the line for the modifieds in this two-day special event.

On October 7th, the 410 Winged Sprints and POWRi Midgets bring the open wheel action back to Tri-City Speedway.

The final night of racing is scheduled to be October 13th when the Crate American Racing Series will have their 2nd Annual Fall Nationals. These dirt late models feature an economically priced crate engine and put on a great show.

Weekly racing at Tri-City Speedway will feature Late Models, Modifieds, C.A.R.S Late Models, Street Stocks & Factory Stocks.

Pontoon Beach, IL (November 15, 2006) Tri-City Speedway has some big changes in store for the 2007 racing season. The biggest change comes will be the racing surface itself. Tri-City Speedway will be reconfigured from the current two track configuration, a 1/2 mile and 1/4 mile track, into one 3/8 mile track. The existing 1/4 mile track will be extended out at each end to make it into a 3/8 mile track. The new track will feature a concrete wall completely around the outside of the track and have all new lighting.

The second big change at Tri-City Speedway for 2007 will be a change in the night that they race on. Tri-City Speedway will move to Friday nights in 2007. Tri-City Speedway has raced on Sunday nights for the last two seasons. The Friday night action will feature hotlaps at 6:45pm, opening ceremonies at 7:20pm and racing at 7:30pm.

Tri-City Speedway will continue to run five classes of racecars in 2007. Tri-City Speedway will bring in the Crate American Racing Series (CARS) Late Models as a weekly sanctioned class in 2007. Tri-City Speedway will continue to feature the Super Late Model division, Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks and Factory Stocks. The Factory Stocks will feature a major rule change in 2007 which will allow for the dual overhead cam engine cars to join the class. Unfortunately, Tri-City Speedway will be dropping the Sportsman division from the 2007 lineup. There will be a rules meeting for drivers and crews on Sunday, January 7th at 2pm. It will be held at the Hilltop Auction Center in Alton, IL.

Tri-City Speedway will kick off the 2007 racing season with a Test & Tune session on Sunday, March 25th at noon. The first race night will be the following Friday night, March 30th. The World of Outlaw Sprint Cars Series returns to Tri-City Speedway in 2007 on May 4th and the UMP Summer Nationals makes a stop at Tri-City Speedway on July 6th. More special events will be announced in the near future.

Tri-City Speedway will also feature discount pricing for grandstand admission for senior citizens and students in 2007. More details on this will be provided in the near future.

Pontoon Beach, IL (November 16, 2006) Tri-City Speedway is pleased to announce the STLRACING.COM Hard Charger Award. The STLRACING.COM Hard Charger Award will give the race car driver that advances the most positions in the feature event an additional $200. The STLRACING.COM Hard Charger Award winner each week will be determined by the driver that advances their finishing position the most position from their assigned starting position in the main event. The winner must also carry a small STLRACING.COM decal on their car to be eligible for the prize. These decals will be available to all drivers free of charge at the track.

This award will rotate each week between the Super Late Model, CARS Late Model, Open Wheel Modifieds and Street Stock division. The winner of the award will receive their Hard Charger Award check for $200 the next week or at the next racing event at Tri-City Speedway.
