Season Championship Feature Winners and Track Champions Crowned at Quincy Raceways

Jason Perry, Steven DeLonjay, Terry Houston and Steve Carlin all picked up the Season Championship feature event wins at Quincy Raceways during TnT Action Sports Harley Davidson Night at the Races with Denny Woodworth, Jared Schlipman, Terry Houston and Steve Carlin being crowned the 2010 Quincy Raceways Track Champions in their respective divisions.
Denny Woodworth shared the front row of the Budweiser IMCA Late Model Season Championship feature event with his closest point’s rival, Jason Perry and it was Perry who came out on top of the battle but Woodworth came out of the war with his first ever IMCA Late Model Track Championship. Perry cruised away from the field with Woodworth holding off the rest of the field for the second position at the end of the thirty lap main event. Justin Reed scored third, followed by Keith Pratt in fourth and Joey Gower in fifth. Pratt and Gower shared the heat race wins with Dustin Neese scoring the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash. Woodworth second place finish wrapped up the point’s title by 8 markers over Perry in the final rundown.
Steven DeLonjay took the Season Championship feature event win in a wild twenty five lapper. DeLonjay survived the carnage of the Advance Trading UMP Modified feature event to score his third win of the season over Justin Reed in second, Ryan Meyer in third, David Wietholder in fourth and Troy Grotz in fifth. James Leffew, DeLonjay and Shawn Deering took the heat race wins. David Wietholder took the win in the Advance Trading Trophy Dash. Jared Schlipman’s sixth place finish gave him a final margin of fifty points over Michael Long to take his first ever Quincy Raceways Miller Lite UMP Modified Track Point’s Championship.
Terry Houston came away from the Season Championship feature event with not one but two wins as he captured his first ever Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car Season Championship Feature win and the Track Point’s Championship as well. Steve Steinkuhler scored second with Jerry Jansen in third, Derek Sammons in fourth and Kevin Tomlinson in fifth. Wes Mayfield and Jansen were the heat race winners. Houston took the Track Championship by twelve markers over Abe Huls.
Steve Carlin matched Terry Houston’s success in the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stock Season Championship main event taking the win and the 2010 Quincy Raceways Track Point’s Championship as well. Carlin outlasted Bobby Anders in second, Jake Powers in third, Nathan Hayes in fourth and Jeremy Buss in fifth. Justin Bartz and Carlin took the heat race wins. Carlin had a final margin of thirteen points over Bobby Anders in the final rundown in the point’s battle.
The 2010 racing season is not over by a long shot at Quincy Raceways with the $3000 to Win, $300 to Start Titan Wheel Shootout for the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models on Friday, September 3. The Miller Lite UMP Modifieds and the Triple R Performance Engine IMCA Stock Cars will be racing for National, Region and State points along with the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stocks. The Pit Gates open at 4, Grandstands at 5, Driver’s Meeting and Registration ends at 6:45, Hot Laps at 7:00 and Racing at 7:30pm
A huge first time special event is also on tap at Quincy Raceways during Labor Day Weekend on Sunday, September 5 with the Sullivan Auctioneer’s King of the Hill Front Row Challenge. All participating cars will time trial setting up the King of the Hill shootout with the winner of each Quincy Raceways KOH division earning the right to compete for 50% more in feature event by taking the Front Row Challenge to go to the tail of the field and winning the main event. The IMCA Late Models will compete for $1000 to Win, UMP Modifieds $500 to Win, IMCA Stock Cars $400 to Win and the Hobby Stock $250 to Win with the KOH winner possible earning another %50 more if they can start on the rear and win the feature event. Fast Time in each division will pay $100 with a bonus guaranteed to the KOH winners who accept the Front Row Challenge but fail to win the main event. Reed, Long, Brocksieck, Brown & Johnson Take Feature Event Wins at Quincy Raceways

Justin Reed, Michael Long, Aaron Brocksieck, Jim Brown and Braden Johnson all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday August 22 during Best Buy of Quincy Night at the Races.
Justin Reed tried to make up some points ground on Denny Woodworth in the chase to either drivers Budweiser IMCA Late Model Track Championship as the points racing season is coming to a quick close. Reed took over the lead from twenty fourth lap as then leader Clint Kirkham dropped out of the main event with mechanical woes. Reed then held off the challenges of Billy Genenbacher to take his third feature win of the season. Genenbacher held on for second followed by Keith Pratt in third, Woodworth in fourth and Joey Gower in fifth. Jason Perry and Pratt were the heat race winners with Reed taking the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Care Center Trophy Dash. Woodworth now holds a significant 9 point advantage over Jason Perry in second and twenty point lead over Reed in third place with on one points night left in the 2010 season.
Points leader Jared Schlipman looked like he was on a mission to claim his third feature event of the season in the Miller Lite UMP Modified division but caution flags played a large part in bringing Michael Long to the second spot to challenge Schlipman. Schlipman held off Long until making a slight mistake in turn two of the twenty second lap of the 25 lap main event. Long took advantage of Schlipman’s error and took over the lead and cruised away to his ninth feature win in ten starts. Schlipman held on for second followed by Tony Dunker in third, Shawn Deering in fourth and Ryan Meyer in fifth. Deering, Meyer and Schlipman all took heat race wins with Steven DeLonjay grabbing the win in the Advance Trading Trophy Dash Series. Schlipman now holds a 36 point lead over Long in his quest for his first ever Track Championship at Quincy Raceways.
Aaron Brocksieck has suffered through a lousy season at Quincy in the Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car division suffering from mechanical failures and accidents in his sophomore season but Brocksieck put on quite a show to lead every lap of the twenty lap main event and held points leader, Terry Houston a bay to take his first feature win of the year. Houston settled for the second spot followed by Abe Huls in third, Steve Steinkuhler in fourth and Andrew Griffin in fifth. Wes Mayfield and Griffin were the heat race winners. Houston now holds a seven point margin over Abe Huls going into the final points racing night on August 29.
Jim Brown has had a very unique season as he either wins the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stock main event or does not finish. Brown seemed to have the main event well in hand for all twenty laps with Nathan Anders try to stay within a few car lengths through out the distance. Steve Carlin scored third over Brian Hoener in fourth and Justin Bartz in fifth. Jim Powell and Nathan Anders scored the heat race wins. Carlin’s third place run and Bobby Anders flat tire and damage form a lap eleven tussle with Adam Scott allowed Carlin to pull out to a nine point lead over Anders in the point’s battle.
Braden Johnson made it a clean sweep of the Kids Modz action by taking both the heat and feature event wins. Mavrick Piller, Logan Mitchell, Logan Moody and Joey Gibson rounded out the top five feature finishers.
Coming up next at Quincy Raceways is the TnT Harley Davidson Action Sports Track Championship Night on Sunday August 29. All four Track Champion will be decided during the Season Championship Race Events as none of the track’s race divisions are decided at this time. Quincy Raceways Extends 2010 Race Season

Quincy Raceways owners, Tony Rhinberger and Paul Holtschlag have announced the extension of the 2010 race season. In an effort to make up some of the race nights that were cancelled due to weather conditions earlier in the year the race season has been extended into the middle of October. All Season Grandstand and Pit Passes will be good for any of the events listed on the following schedule. An earlier start time will take effect starting with the Sept. 12 Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders appearance. Some additions to race events on this extended schedule may also be on tap, so watch for details to be released.

Pratt Scores Big IMCA Late Model Win at Quincy

Keith Pratt, Steven DeLonjay, Terry Houston, Jim Brown and Dustin Griffin all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, August 15 during Albertson Auto Body & Mark Twain Casino Fan Appreciation Night.
Keith Pratt came from his third row starting spot to take over the lead of the thirty lap Budweiser IMCA Late Model feature event on the sixth lap and put on quite a show in dominating throughout the remaining laps. Pratt’s victory margin was almost six seconds which is about a third of a lap. The action was fast and furious for the rest of the field as Joey Gower claimed the second spot with point’s leader, Denny Woodworth in third, Jason Perry in fourth and Billy Genenbacher in fifth. Justin Reed and Woodworth scored the heat race win while Gower took the victory in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash Series. Denny Woodworth strengthened his grasp on the points lead, now holding an eight point advantage over Jason Perry in his quest for his first ever Budweiser IMCA Late Model Track Championship.
There is a quote from some very old and wise man saying “Long Live the King, The King is Dead, which is just a little ironic in that Steven DeLonjay finally put Michael Long’s Miller Lite UMP Modified Feature Event win streak to an end Sunday night. DeLonjay did it in style by sweeping all three events that he raced in, his heat race, the Advance Trading Trophy Dash and the twenty five lap feature event. DeLonjay’s win in the dash set him up to start the feature event on the pole with Michael Long starting inside the third row. DeLonjay first held Jared Schlipman at bay for the first five laps until Long swept into the second spot on lap six. DeLonjay then held Long at bay as Long tried every move he could muster to take over the lead. The crowd was sensing something special was about to happen as the laps wound down as the rose to their feet cheering on their favorite driver. DeLonjay held off two final attempts by Long to get past over the last couple of laps and proceeded to end Long’s win streak at eight. Jared Schlipman claimed the third spot followed by Justin Reed in fourth and Ryan Meyer in fifth. Reed and Donovan Lodge took the other two heat race wins. Schlipman now holds a forty point advantage over DeLonjay and Long as they are tied for the second place position.
Terry Houston took advantage of Able Huls over heating engine take the points lead in the Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car division. Houston’s second feature win of the season thrust him into the point’s lead by six over Huls. Andrew Griffin settled for the second spot followed by Jerry Jansen, Jason Leapley and Wes Mayfield. Kevin Tomlinson and Steve Steinkuhler took the heat race wins.
The points chase in the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stock division took a wild turn of events as point’s leader, Steve Carlin had nothing but problems throughout the twenty lap feature event. Veteran Hobby Stock driver, Jim Brown scored his second feature win of the season by holding off Nathan Anders for all twenty laps of the main event. Nathan Anders settled for second followed by Bobby Anders in third, Adam Scott in fourth and Steve Carlin in fifth. Carlin and Bobby Anders are now tied with 360 points each with only two nights of points racing remaining in the 2010 season. Brown and Nathan Anders were the heat race winners.
The UMP Pro Crate Late Models made their second appearance of the season Sunday night and it was the same winner this time as the first. Dustin Griffin started on the outside of the front row of the twenty five lap feature event and held Gordy Gundaker at bay for every lap. Gundaker settled for second followed by Evan Fink in third, Kyle Hammer in fourth and Shawn Rayfield in fifth. Griffin and Ed Bauman were the heat race winners.

Denny Woodworth, Michael Long, Steve Steinkuhler, Steve Carlin and Logan Moody all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday August 8, 2010 during Budweiser Rinella Distributing and Noxin Trucking Night at the Races.

Denny Woodworth used a lot of patience and a little luck to pick up his third Budweiser IMCA Late Model feature event win this season. Woodworth started the A Main in the fifth row and steadily worked his way to challenge Dustin Griffin for the top spot on the fifth teen lap. Woodworth blasted past Griffin on the high side of turn two on lap 16 and held off the challenges of Jason Perry over the closing laps to cement the win. Perry settled for the second spot followed by Keith Pratt in third, Griffin in fourth and Billy Genenbacher in fifth. Darin Weisinger and Joey Gower were the heat race winners with Woodworth claiming the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash. Woodworth’s win now gives him a 350 to 344 points lead in his chase to his first Budweiser IMCA Late Model Track Championship.

Steven DeLonjay looked like he was going to end Michael Longs domination of the Miller Lite UMP Modified division Sunday night but a late race caution allowed Long to close up the gap to the leaders with six laps to go. Long disposed of second place running Rusty Griffaw on the twentieth lap and set his sites on DeLonjay. Steven held off Long until twenty third lap but put up a valiant fight as he refused to go away quietly. DeLonjay kept up the pressure on Long until the checkered flag fell on the twenty fifth lap, settling for second by .096 of a second. Long’s eighth feature win of the season comes in his eighth feature start. Third went to Griffaw followed by Justin Reed in fourth and Jared Schlipman in fifth. Schlipman, David Wietholder and DeLonjay were the heat race winners with DeLonjay scoring the checkered flag in the Advance Trading Trophy Dash series. Jared Schlipman now holds a 684 to 642 point advantage over Wietholder as the season winds down.

Steve Steinkuhler outlasted the rest of the Triple Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car field as carnage on the track and overheating engines put much of the field in trouble. Steinkuhler took the lead on the tenth lap and held off the challenges of Terry Houston to the checkered flag on the twentieth lap. Houston settled for second followed by Kevin Tomlinson in third, Jerry Jansen in fourth and Aaron Brocksieck in fifth. Mayfield and Andrew Griffin were heat race winners.

The Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stock main event was a wild and wooly affair that saw numerous caution flags, pit stops and penalties for rough driving. Steve Carlin survived the carnage to take his first feature win of the season. Carlin held off the challenges of Bobby Anders in a terse battle over the closing laps with Anders settling for the second spot at the checkered flag. Nathan Hayes scored third followed by Brian Hoener in fourth and Jeremy Buss in fifth. Hoener and Justin Bartz were the heat race winners. Carlin now holds a slim four point margin over Anders in the point's battle.

The Kid Mods came to town for their first appearance of the season and the youngest had a very tough time of it on the track. Jake Griffin crashed hard head on into the turn four wall and walked away but not until he had regained his bearings. Logan Moody took the feature event win easily outdistancing Braden Johnson after the field was reduced to two cars when Logan Mitchell and Blake Vinson crashed into the back stretch guard rail. Vinson took the heat race win.

One of the most anticipated nights of the season, the Fan Appreciation Night is up next on Sunday August 15, 2010. All Grandstand Tickets are $5 with Kids 10 and under getting in free. The Albertson Auto Body & Mark Twain Casino Night at the Races will feature an added attraction as the UMP Crate Late Models will be added to the evenings racing card. The kids are in for a big treat as well with a first time event, a Kids Nickel Dash at Intermission. Perry Takes Quincy Raceways Honors

Jason Perry, Michael Long, Abe Huls and Bobby Anders all took home feature event wins during the Advance Trading & Heetco Night at the Races on Sunday August 1 at Quincy Raceways. After being rained out for two consecutive weeks leading up to Sunday night, Quincy Raceways was able to finally get a race night in the books even if track conditions were not the very best.

Rookie Justin Jennings jumped into the lead of the Budweiser IMCA Late Model Feature event at the drop of the green flag but only held onto the lead for one lap as Dustin Neese charged by to grab the lead on the second go round. Neese held Keith Pratt back in second followed by Perry until the Perry powered around Pratt for the second spot on lap eighteen. Perry then blasted pas Neese on lap nineteen and went on to stretch his lead at the end of the thirty lapper. Pratt held on for second followed by Joey Gower in third, Denny Woodworth in fourth and Billy Genenbacher in fifth. Woodworth and Genenbacher were the heat race winners with Perry grabbing the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash. Denny Woodworth now holds a slim 4 point margin over Perry and 9 over Justin Reed with only four more points nights left.

Michael Long took his seventh feature win in seven feature starts in the Miller Lite UMP Modified division. Long started the main event in the seventh row and powered his way into the lead on the twenty second circuit of the twenty five lap feature event. Jared Schlipman held on for second followed by Ryan Meyer in third, Robbie Reed in fourth and Justin Reed in fifth. Tony Dunker, Chris Spaulding, and Ryan Meyer were the heat race winners with Steven DeLonjay taking home the hardware in the Advance Trading Trophy Dash Series. Jared Schlipman’s second place finished launched him into the points lead by 22 over David Wietholder who had mechanical problems throughout the night.

Kevin Tomlinson held of Andrew Griffin for the first seven laps of the twenty lap Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car feature event but on a lap eight restart, Abe Huls blasted past Tomlinson to take over the lead for the rest of the distance. Tomlinson held on for second followed by Wes Mayfield in third, Jerry Jansen in fourth and Steve Steinkuhler in fifth. Griffin and Terry Houston were the heat race winners. Abe Huls is now eight points up over Terry Houston in the battle for the Track Points title.

Nathan Anders took the early lead in the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stock main event and looked like he might just pull off his first ever feature event win but it was not to be as Jake Powers took over the lead on the ninth lap. Powers held on to the lead with Bobby Anders nipping at his heals until a lap sixteen incident in turn one sent Powers spinning off turn one. Anders then held the field at bay until the checkered flag fell to take his sixth feature win of the year. Steve Carlin rallied in the closing laps to grab second followed by Jim Powell in third, Adam Scott in fourth and Jeremy Buss in fifth. Powell and Bobby Anders were the heat race winners. Carlin now holds a slim four point margin over Bobby Anders in the point’s battle.

An early morning storm dropped over an inch of rain at Quincy Raceways creating an unmanageable mud problem at the race track known as the Broadway Bullring bringing about the cancellation of racing action for Sunday, July 18, 2010.. The Advance Trading Night at the Races as now been rescheduled for Sunday, July 25 along with Mark Twain Casino Night at the Races featuring the Kids Nickel Dash. Jeep Arrives Late but Gets in Time to Win Summer Nationals at Quincy

Jeep Van Wormer had tire problems on his hauler in Lincoln, Illinois on his way to Quincy Raceways for the $5000 to Win UMP Summer Nationals on Sunday, July 11 but it did not slow him down as he set second quick time in his group without even hot lapping before qualifying, too his heat race win and went on to take his fourth “Hell Tour” feature event win of the season. Brian Shirley took the lead from the pole position at the drop of the green flag held the spot until his suffering motor problems on laps on lap six. Jeep got into the back of the slowing Shirley but was able to steer around the disabled car to take over the top spot. Ryan Unzicker made a valiant effort to stay with Van Wormer but gave way to Jason Feger on the nineteenth circuit and held on for the third finishing position. Doug Drown got the fourth spot followed by multi time Quincy Raceways Track Champion in fifth. Shannon Babb worked his way to as high as the fourth spot and while battling Unzicker for third, Babb and Brandon Thirlby got tangled up down the front stretch bring out the caution and putting both cars to the rear for the restart on sap twenty six. Babb rallied from the tail of the field for the sixth spot while Dennis Erb settled for the seventh spot. Unzicker, Drown and Shirley were the other three heat race winners over the thirty two cars entered in the event. Thirlby topped the B-Main with Steve Lance also transferring into the main event. The three provisional starters were Jason McBride, Craig Vosbergen and Justin Reed.

Dustin Neese took the early lead of the Budweiser IMCA Late Model thirty lap main event and looked very good to take the win but Justin Reed had other ideas. Reed stated from the fifth row and worked his way into position to challenge Neese on the sixteenth lap and by lap twenty four Reed secured the top spot and pulled away to take his second points feature event win of the season. Joey Gower claimed third followed by Neese in fourth and Denny Woodworth in fifth. Reeds win puts him and Woodworth into a deadlock tie for the points chase. Ron Elbe and Neese were the heat race winners with Jason Perry scoring the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash.

David Wietholder jumped out to the early lead of the Miller Lite UMP Modified main event and looked to be the race winner but Steven DeLonjay kept the faith and crept closer and closer to Wietholder. DeLonjay tried in vain to get past Wietholder but was unable to take the spot until the final lap as Wietholder used the low line giving DeLonjay the high line which is all he needed. DeLonjay snuck pat Wietholder at the checkered flag by a mere one hundredth of a second to score his first feature win of the season. Wietholder settled for second followed by Shawn Deering in third, Tony Dunker in fourth and Robbie Reed in fifth. Wietholder, Justin Reed and DeLonjay were the heat race winners with Wietholder taking the checkers first in the Advance Trading Trophy Dash.

Jim Brown made his return to the race track this season after a very long hiatus and it has not been a very joyous return until tonight. Brown took the early lead in the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stock main event and pulled out to a dominating lead as the field battled tooth and nail behind him for the runner up spot. Brown’s only scare of the event came during a lap seventeen restart. Brown engine seemed to stumble at drop of the green flag after the caution but he was able to recover and took the lead back on the eighteenth lap. Brown then cruised away for the win followed by Nathan Hayes in second, Jeremy Buss in third, Bobby Anders in fourth and Jim Powell n fifth. Justin Bartz and Bobby Anders were the heat race winners.

It’s Advance Trading Night at the Races coming up next at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, July 18 as points racing continues in all four Weekly Racing Series classes, the Budweiser IMCA Late Models, Miller Lite UMP Modifieds, Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Cars and the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stocks. Pit Gates open at 3, Grandstands at 4, Drivers Meeting and Registration ends at 4:45, Hot Laps at 5 and Racing at 5:30pm. It is also a Salute to Industry as all employees of the Blessing Health System will be admitted Free to the races with a Blessing Health System ID. Sunday, July 11^th brings the biggest event of the season to Quincy Raceways as the UMP Summer Nationals Hell Tour comes to town for a $5000 to Win, $500 to start forty lap feature event. Currently Dennis Erb, Shannon Babb, Jason Feger, Jeep VanWormer and Ryan Unzicker are in a very tight points battle for the prestigious Summer Nationals Championship. The Pit Gates open at 2, Grandstands at 4, Drivers Registration and Drivers Meeting at 4:45, Hot Laps at 5 and Qualifying at 5:30pm. The Budweiser IMCA Late Models, Miller Lite Ump Modifieds and the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stocks will also be in action in regular points racing. The Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Cars will get a one week vacation. Adult Tickets are $20, Seniors $15, Students (11-15) $10 and Children 10 and Under are Free. The Annual Pepsi Mid-Season Championships at Quincy Raceways found a Host of new feature event winners for the 2010 season on Sunday, July 4.

Robby Warner cruised to his first ever Pepsi Mid-Season Championship feature event win in the Budweiser IMCA Late Model division. Warner started on the outside of row one and held off Dustin Griffin for the first five laps and then Joey Gower of the remainder of the thirty laps that saw only one caution flag on lap two. Gower settled for the second place hardware followed by Griffin in third, Keith Pratt in fourth and Justin Reed in fifth. Griffin and Billy Genenbacher were the heat race winners while Justin Reed scored the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash.

A special event for the UMP Pro-Crate Late Models found Dustin Griffin dominating the night’s action by taking the win in his heat race and the feature event. Griffin was followed to the checkered flag in the Pepsi Crate Late Model Shootout by Bobbi Marintoni in second, Jerry Lierly in third, Jake Griffin in fourth and Joe Hughes in fifth.

Michael Long picked up yet another feature event win in the Miller Lite UMP Modified Pepsi Mid-Season Championship main event but Tony Dunker made a race out of it as numerous caution flags brought the feature race to an early conclusion on lap sixteen of the scheduled twenty five. Long was followed to the checkered flag by Dunker in second, Jared Schlipman in third, Steven DeLonjay in fourth and David Wietholder in fifth. Steven Stotler, Reed and Long were the heat race winners with DeLonjay taking the win in the Advance Trading Trophy Dash series.

Andrew Griffin jumped into the early lead of the Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car Pepsi Mid-Season Championship feature event and held off Jerry Jansen over the first three laps but Abe Huls had other ideas about how the racing order should look. Huls took over second on lap four and then worked his way past Griffin on lap five. Huls then held Griffin and Terry Houston and bay until the checkered flag fell on lap twenty. Houston scored second followed by Griffin in third, Jansen in fourth and Wes Mayfield in fifth. Griffin toke the lone heat race win.

Jeremy Buss grabbed the lead in the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stocks Pepsi Mid-Season Championship feature event and managed to hold off Brian Hoener over the first fourteen laps and then held Bobby Anders at bay until the checkered flag fell on lap twenty. Anders crossed the line in second followed by Hoener in third, Tanner Klingele in fourth and Steve Carlin in fifth but a post race protest of Anders legality changed up the finish order as it was determined that Anders had no inner fender wells as required by the rule book which moved Hoener into second, Klingele in third, Carlin in fourth and Jim Powell into fifth. Carlin and Justin Bartz were the heat race winners.

Sunday, July 11^th brings the biggest event of the season to Quincy Raceways as the UMP Summer Nationals Hell Tour comes to town for a $5000 to Win, $500 to start forty lap feature event. Currently Dennis Erb, Shannon Babb, Jason Feger, Jeep VanWormer and Ryan Unzicker and in a very tight points battle for the prestigious Summer Nationals Championship. The Pit Gates open at 2, Grandstands at 4, Drivers Registration and Drivers Meeting at 4:45, Hot Laps at 5 and Qualifying at 5:30pm. The Budweiser IMCA Late Models, Miller Lite Ump Modifieds and the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stocks will also be in action in regular points racing. The Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Cars will get a one week vacation. Adult Tickets are $20, Seniors $15, Students (11-15) and Children 10 and Under are Free.
