Crawhorn, who started seventh, survived a multi-car race for the runner-up spot as he came home second just edging out Woods, who came into the race seeking his second career track title in the UMP Bomber class, but fell short with his third place finish combined with Fields’ win. Woods came from the 12th starting spot for third.

Tim Roberts Wins UMP Pure Stock Feature and Championship on Friday Night at Brownstown

BROWNSTOWN, IN (September 24, 2010) – Tim Roberts of Columbus, IN ended the 2010 UMP Pure Stock points season at Brownstown Speedway on Friday Night in grand fashion as he captured the main event and the track title in the division. Roberts led all the way in taking his second main event of the year and in doing so clinched his first track championship in the UMP Pure Stock class. Roberts in the Gator’s Garage, Brown’s Auto and Equipment Repair, The Rod Shop, Jimmie’s Motor Service, Sign 1 Graphix, Team Roberts Racing and Dirty Motorsports sponsored #123 to the victory over Aaron Fields of Seymour, IN, Danny Hupp of Scipio, IN, Josh Phelps of North Vernon, IN and Donnie Wilson of North Vernon, IN.

Roberts took the lead at the start of the main event as he entered the final point’s race of the season second in points to North Vernon’s Cody Vanosdol. Vanosdol ran second to Roberts and was closing on the race leader, when his car started to smoke badly.

Vanosdol, who entered the weekend as the division’s points leader based on the strength of his four wins at Brownstown this year saw his chance for the track title in the UMP Pure Stock class end at the halfway mark as he pulled his car to the infield ending his hopes for not only the feature win, but the points title as well.

With Vanosdol sitting dejectedly in the infield, Fields, who had just won the UMP Bomber feature minutes before came all the way from his 14th starting spot to take second in what turned out to be quite a race for second place behind Roberts.

The race for second was a hotly contested one as Fields got around both Phelps and Huff near the end of the race to take second. Roberts would cruise on to take the victory and wrap up the championship by seven points after coming in to the race, 25 points behind Vanosdol.

Completing the top ten were; Mickey Hines of Scipio, IN; Bobby Johnson of Columbus, IN; Willie Sallee of Columbus, IN; Brent Howard of North Vernon, IN; and Cody Vanosdol of North Vernon, IN.

UMP Pure Stock Feature Finish: Tim Roberts, Aaron Fields, Danny Hupp, Josh Phelps, Donnie Wilson, Mickey Hines, Bobby Johnson, Willie Sallee, Brent Howard, Cody Vanosdol, Bodi Henry, Daniel Schepers, Brad Kemp, Curt Bennett, Brian Sims (DNS), Danny Adams (DNS)

Jeremy Hines Takes UMP Super Stock Main Event Saturday at Brownstown Speedway

BROWNSTOWN, IN (September 25. 2010) – Jeremy Hines of Seymour, IN came from the 10th starting position to win the 25-lap UMP Super Stock feature on Saturday Night at Brownstown Speedway. Hines driving the Rick Hines-owned Stuckwisch Appliances, Royal Heating and Cooling, Gumm Chassis, George’s of Seymour, Bedford Transport and F.O.E. Aerie 655 of Seymour sponsored #15 took the win over 2010 track champion, Tim Clark of North Vernon, IN, Jason Hehman of Brownstown, IN, Try Clark of North Vernon, IN and Brownstown’s Jay Deckard.

Tim Clark took the lead from his outside front row starting spot as he would lead the first lap, but by lap Hehman, who started on the pole took over the lead of the race. Hehman, Tim Clark and Mike Cawood would run one-two-three for the first nine laps of the race as an excellent battle for the lead was taking place.

Cawood would be involved in an accident on lap ten which ended his night. Hines who had made his way through the field from his outside fifth row starting spot moved into the fourth spot when Cawood departed the event. On the restart Hehman continued to show the way with extreme pressure from Tim Clark, Troy Clark, Hines, and Gary Rahe, Jr.

The race for lead got even hotter as Hines passed both Clarks on lap 12 to take over second. Hines then pursued the leader, Hehman as the two would dice it out side-by-side for the race lead. Tim Clark then made it a three-way tussle for the top spot as he reclaimed second place on the 19th circuit. The trio raced door-to-door until Hines went from his third position to the lead on lap 21.

Tim Clark then dropped Hehman to third in a wild last five laps as the 33-year-old Hines would go on to take his second UMP Super Stock main of the year at Brownstown. Tim Clark with his second place finish clinched the 2010 Brownstown Speedway UMP Super Stock Crown. Hehman claimed third while Troy Clark finished fourth. The night before at Bloomington ((IN) Speedway, Troy Clark wrapped up the 2010 UMP Super Stock title at that facility. Former track champion, Jay Deckard rounded out the top five on Saturday at Brownstown.

BROWNSTOWN SPEEDWAY RESULTS AND STORIES FOR AUGUST 8TH, 2010‏

Aaron Fields and Jeremy Hines made up the front row for the UMP Super Stock main with the first two attempts at a start brought back due to incidents. The third attempt was clean and one lap was completed before the caution flew for debris in turn four. Jason Combs inherited the lead and brought the field to the restart with Randy Petro shooting to second. Petro then took the lead from Combs on lap three, using the highside of the track. The caution flew again on lap five, as Larry Booher dropped fluid on the race track and Mike Cawood spun in it in turn one. Petro led the field to the green on the restart, with Combs and Tom Ault in tow. Hines moved around Ault for third on lap six coming down the front stretch. The top four changed on the restart as Petro shoved high and lost numerous spots coming out of turn two. Combs took the lead with Clark in second, and Hines third. Disaster struck combs with three to go as he broke, giving the lead to Clark. Clark was able to hold on and lead the last three laps to pick up the win.

On the restart, Sallee took second away from Hupp on lap three and set his sights on the leader Hines. The caution flew on lap seven, as Brian Ballard pulled into the infield, and Daniel Schepers had nowhere to go and made contact on the backstretch. On the restart, Hupp took second from Sallee, as Sallee fell backwards. Cody Vanosdol took third , but had Sallee right on his bumper. Up front, Hupp made a move for the lead on lap 11, but wasn’t able to make it stick. The gap between first and second remained at a car length with six laps to go. The caution flew as the white flag was coming out as Vanosdol lost his tire coming out of turn four. Hines took the green on the restart and was able to hold off the field on the green, white, checkered finish to take the win.

Greg Johnson and Joe Janowski took the Late Model feature to the green with Johnson leading Dillan White to the stripe for lap one. The top three of Johnson, White, and Janowski ran the high side of the track, as Alan Magner took fourth from Greg Kendall on lap five. Shannon Reed then moved around Kendall for the fifth position on lap six. White began to move in to challenge Johnson for the lead on lap eight, but Johnson was able to hold him off. White threw a slider on Johnson on lap ten to take the lead, but Johnson fought back and retook the position on lap 12. White and Johnson traded sliders for the next three laps as Janowski moved in to make it a three way battle for the lead. The caution slowed the momentum as Jeff Mounce spun on lap 17. On the restart, Alan Magner moved under Janowski for third. White threw a massive slide job on Johnson with two laps to go, as Magner moved in as well to overtake White for second. Coming down the backstretch on the final lap, Johnson, Magner, and White ran three wide coming out of turn three, and Magner took the bottom groove and led the final 30 feet of an absolutely epic main event.

BROWNSTOWN SPEEDWAY RESULTS AND STORIES FOR JULY 10TH, 2010‏
Ed Lahey and Jeremy Hines made up the front row for the 25 lap, $1,000 to win UMP Super Stock feature event. The first attempt at a start was brought back due to a yellow for Chuck Haga, who had stalled in turn one. On the second attempt, Hines took the lead and led Lahey to the line to complete lap one. The caution flew once again on lap two, as Brad Ray and Bobby Davis spun coming out of turn two. On the restart, Lahey got shuffled from second to fourth, as Randy Petro and Jason Combs moved by. On lap six, Petro and Combs got together in turn one resulting in a yellow. Petro got his spot back as he was deemed to have been taken out. Hines led the next three laps with a wild battle behind him for fourth between Gary Rahe Jr, Marty Cooper, and Lahey. Petro, Hines, and Cawood went three wide for the lead on lap ten, with Hines keeping the position. Cawood and Petro then battled for second on lap 11. At the halfway point, it was Hines, Petro, Cawood, Rahe, and Lahey making up the top five. Up front, Hines held a two car length advantage on Petro on lap 14, with Petro attempting to dive under him in turn one. Hines was able to hold on to the lead, and stretched his advantage out to about six car lengths. Cawood took second from Petro on lap 16, but Petro fought back to the outside of him. The caution bunched up the field on lap 18, as debris sat in turn one. With seven laps to go, Hines took the green flag with Cawood and Petro giving chase. Petro moved to second on lap 19, as he, Hines, and Cawood ran almost three wide for the lead. With four laps to go, Hines held a four car length advantage over Cawood and Petro. Cawood moved to second on lap 22, as Rahe battled with Petro for third. With two to go, Hines held a half straight lead over Cawood and was able to hold on to claim the win. Cawood, Petro, Rahe, and Combs completed the top five.

Jim Pfeiffer and Josh Turner led the field to the green in the Bomber division with Turner leading lap one with Bubba Woods in second. Jeremy Owens moved in to battle Woods for second on lap two as they raced side by side at the line. Woods held second and moved in to battle Turner for the lead, taking the spot on lap four. Behind them, Aaron Fields had moved around Owens to take the third position on lap five. Fields then got around Turner to take second one lap later. Fields started to close in on Woods and made contact going into turn three on lap seven. The contact was enough to send Fields around in turn three, bringing out the yellow. The yellow flew on the restart for debris in turn four. The second attempt of the restart was successful, with Woods leading Turner to complete lap eight. Steven Watson moved to third, bringing Keaton Streeval along with him to fourth. The caution flew on lap nine, as Kamron Burch looped his mount in turn one. Woods led the field to the halfway mark with Turner, Streeval, Darren Crawhorn, and Watson completing the top five. Woods began to pull away with less than ten laps to go, holding a half straight lead over Turner on lap 13. With five to go, the lead remained the same for Woods before the caution flew on lap 15 for Burch who had lost a tire in turn one. When racing resumed, Streeval moved around Turner for second as they came out of turn two. With four to go, Woods held a car length advantage over Streeval and Turner. With two to go, Woods opened up a three car lead over Turner. Woods was able to keep the advantage and take the win over Streeval, Turner, Fields, and Watson.

Joe Godsey and Edgar Godsey made up the front row of the ILMS main event, with Joe Godsey leading the first lap. Scott Graham moved under Edgar Godsey to take second on lap two. Mark Barber moved under both Graham and Edgar Godsey to go three wide for second on lap three. James Griffith spun in turn four, bringing out the caution on lap three. On the restart, Barber shot to third, as Graham dropped back to fourth. Graham then moved back to the third spot around Barber on lap four. The caution flew on lap four for debris in turn two. On the restart, Joe Godsey led the field into turn one, with Barber now in second, and Jeremy Hines third. The caution flew yet again on lap five, as Lindsay Wade and Zak Blackwood got together in turn one. On the restart, Hines moved to second, and then attempted to get the lead away from Joe Godsey coming out of turn four. Unfortunately for Hines the yellow came out for Matt Patus in turn four.  The caution flew on the restart, as Greg Kendall spun in turn three. When the green flew, Barber moved under GOdsey for the lead coming out of turn four, but couldnt make the pass stick. Barber and Hines fell into single file behind Godsey as the field clicked off lap seven. Shannon Allen brought out the caution on lap nine, as he spun in turn three. With 11 laps to go, Joe Godsey led Barber and Hines to the green on the restart. Hines moved around Barber for second at the halfway marker, and set his sights on Godsey out front. Godsey held a half car length lead over Hines on lap 12, with Hines taking the lead on lap 13. Hines then began to open up a half straight advantage over Godsey with four laps to go. With two to go, Hines held a full straightaway lead over the field and was able to cruise to the victory over Godsey, Barber, Edgar Godsey, and Steve Godsey.

Mickey Hines and Donnie Wilson made up the front row for the UMP Pure Stock feature event with Hines leading a three wide battle behind him for second. Brian Ballard brought out the yellow on lap two, looping his mount in turn one. On the restart, Roberts, Cody Vanosdol, and Hines ran three wide for the lead, with Roberts going from third to first on lap three. Hines and Vanosdol ran side by side for second. Hines kept the spot, then moved up to work on Roberts for the lead. Roberts started to pull away from the battle for second between Hines and Vanosdol just as the caution flew for the car of Daniel Schepers in turn four on lap seven. When racing resumed, Roberts led Hines and Vanosdol around to complete lap eight. The caution flew on lap eight, as Willie Sallee brought out the yellow in turn three. Disaster struck Hines, as he pulled off during the caution period while running second. On the restart, Roberts, Vanosdol, and Danny Hupp went three wide for the lead at the halfway point. Vanosdol took the lead on lap 11, leaving Roberts and Hupp to dice it out for second. Hupp shot around Roberts and Vanosdol for the lead on lap 14, as Vanosdol pulled into the infield with a flat tire. Hupp held a comfortable lead over Roberts with two laps to go. Hupp was able to hold on for the win ahead of Roberts, Wilson, Dan Sallee, and Ballard.

BROWNSTOWN SPEEDWAY RESULTS AND STORIES FOR JULY 3RD, 2010‏
The 25 lap UMP Late Model feature saw Steve Barnett and Joe Godsey lead the field to the green flag. Godsey took the lead on the start and led lap one with Barnett in tow. Barnett dove under him and ran door to door with him as they completed lap two. Barnett officially took the lead from Godsey on lap three, but only by a half car length. Behind them, Mike Jewell and Joe Janowski dueled for third as they completed lap six. Jewell then executed a perfect slide job on Godsey for second on lap seven coming out of turn four. Janowski was able to get around Godsey for the third spot as well. On lap eleven, Jewell threw a slider on Barnett to take the lead, leaving Barnett to battle Janowski for second. Barnett and Janowski ran door to door at the halfway mark for the runner up spot. With less than ten laps to go, Jewell held a half straight lead over the second place battle between Barnett and Janowski. Janowski took the spot from Barnett on lap 17. Behind them, Jason Jameson took fourth away from Mark Barber on lap 18. Jameson then took third from Barnett, and began to pressure Janowski for second with five to go. Janowski was able to put some distance between he and Janowski before the caution flew for Tim Rivers who had spun in turn four on lap 22. On the restart, Jewell immediately shot out to a three car length advantage over Jameson. As the white flag flew, Jewell was in control and kept his advantage over Jameson throughout the final lap en route to the win. Janowski, Dillan White, and Mark Barber completed the top five.

The 25 lap UMP Bomber main event started with Aaron Fields and Keaton Streeval on the front row. Fields hit the bottom of the track and led lap one ahead of Streeval and Steven Watson. As they completed lap two, you could throw a blanket over the trio as they ticked off lap three. Fields continued to lead on lap five, with Watson and Streeval battling side by side for second. Watson grabbed the second spot from Streeval as the field completed lap six. Streeval then had to contend with Bubba Woods, who snuck in and grabbed third on lap eight. Lapped traffic was key on lap 11, as Fields had to slow up to keep from hitting the car of Todd McDonald. This allowed Watson to close in on Fields' back bumper. At the halfway point, it was Fields, Watson, Woods, Jim Pfeiffer, and Streeval rounding out the top five. With ten to go, Fields held a four car advantage over Watson and Woods. The first caution of the event flew on lap 17, as Nathan Baker looped his mount in turn one. On the restart, Woods took to the outside of Watson, but couldnt get around him for second as they completed lap 18. The duo then ran side by side once again on lap 19, with Woods taking second as they took the five to go signal. The second caution flew on lap 20, as Ronnie Pardue spun in turn three. The restart was brought back for a three car incident in turns one and two. When the green flew, Watson was able to get back around Woods for second on the restart. With three to go, Fields held a half straight advantage over Watson. The caution flag flew once again just as the white flag flew for Fields. Streeval looped his car in turn four. Fields took the green on the restart, and was able to hold off Woods and Watson on the final lap to take the win.

Wes Ray and Mike Fluhr led the Hornet feature field to the green, only to see it brought back for a spin in turn one by Adam Hanner. The restart was successful, as Ray took the lead and led lap one over a battle between Lucas Jackson and Brad Ray. Wes Ray, by lap five, held a half straight advantage over Jackson. Ray began to lap cars, on lap seven, but Jackson moved through the backmarkers just as easily and stayed right on his tail. Right at the halfway point, Felisha Deweese barrel rolled her machine in turn one, resulting in a red flag. Deweese was ok, and got out of the car under her own power. Wes Ray led the field to the green, with Jackson still in second, and Brad Ray third. Mason Covey moved to fourth, getting around Josh Turner. The top two got together on lap 12, but were able to stay straight and keep their positions. With just a handful of laps to go, Wes Ray saw his right rear break, allowing Jackson to take the lead. Jackson would end up holding on for the victory, his first at Brownstown Speedway

Clint DeMoss and Devin Gilpin made up the front row for the UMP Modified main event with Gilpin leading lap one by half a car length over DeMoss. Demoss battled back to the inside of Gilpin to run door to door for the lead before the caution flew for Billy Cooper in turn four. On the restart, Gilpin held the bottom groove with Greg Amick and Demoss battling for second behind him. Demoss claimed second and began to work on Gilpin for the lead, taking it on lap four. Behind him, Matt Boknecht took to the high side and began to battle Amick for third. The caution flew on lap five for a safety issue on Brian Fiscus's machine. On the restart, Demoss shot out to a five car advantage over a three car battle for second between Boknecht, Gilpin, and Amick. The yellow flew again on lap six, as Webb Lee spun in turn three. When the green flew on the restart, Demoss opened up another good sized advantage before the caution flew again for Billy Cooper. Demoss took the field to the green again on the restart and took a six car advantage over Boknecht as they completed lap nine. Behind them, Richie Lex worked under Gilpin to battle for third, getting the spot on lap 11. Gilpin then lost fourth to Earl Plessinger. At the halfway point it was Demoss, Boknecht, Lex, Plessinger, and Gilpin rounding out the top five. Demoss held a full straight advantage over Boknecht with less than eight laps to go and started putting lapped cars between he and Boknecht. Demoss easily clicked off the remaining laps and took his third win of the season at Brownstown ahead of Boknecht, Lex, Plessinger, and Jared Bailey

Wilson made a move to the outside of Combs as they moved into turn three, but wasn't able to make the pass, as Combs took his first ever Super Stock feature win at Brownstown Speedway. Wilson, Clark, Tim Clark, and Petro completed the top five.

VANOSDOL, BARBER, DEMOSS, AND WOODS VICTORIOUS AT BROWNSTOWN SPEEDWAY

BY: Chris Nunn

Brownstown Speedway played host to the $500 to win UMP Pure Stock special event, with Cody Vanosdol leading the entire 25 laps to pick up the win. John Demoss ended the winning streak of his brother Clint at Brownstown Speedway in the UMP Modified division, Bubba Woods picked up another Bomber main, and Mark Barber took his first Indiana Late Model Series victory of the season.

Cody Vanosdol and Jeremy Owens led the field to the green in the 25 lap Pure Stock special event with Vanosdol leading lap one. Brent Howard took second away from Owens at the line. The caution flew on lap two, as Chris Palmer and Willie Sallee spun in turn three. Owens was able to take second back from Howard on the restart right before the caution flew on lap three for the spun car of Brian Sims. The second spot switched hands again on the restart, as Howard moved back around Owens for the spot. Owens battled back to the inside, but was not able to make the move stick. Owens then made the move on lap six, and moved around Howard for second. The caution flew for the third time on lap seven, Tony Harvey looped his mount in turn three. On the restart, Owens made a move on the outside of Vanosdol in turn two for the lead, but couldnt get around. By lap 10, Vanosdol had opened his lead on Owens to about four car lengths. Behind them Aaron Fields and Danny Hupp battled for the fourth position on lap 13. At the halfway point it was Vanosdol, Owens, Howard, Fields, and Hupp rounding out the top five. Hupp took the fourth spot from Fields on lap 14, leaving Fields to fifth. Up front, Vanosdol held a half straightaway lead over Owens as he moved into lapped traffic. Vanosdol had a bit of trouble getting around the lapped car of Brad Kemp, as the two made contact. Vanosdol wasn't out of harms way yet, as a lapped car spun down in front of him. Vanosdol cleared the car, and was able to cruise on to pick up the $500 win in the UMP Pure Stock special.

Jim Pfeiffer and Keaton Streeval made up the front row for the 25 lap Bomber feature with Pfeiffer leading lap one ahead of Streeval and Josh Turner. Turner and Streeval then battled for the second spot on lap three, as that battle turned into a three way dance for the lead. Streeval took his car to the topside and shot around Pfeiffer for the lead on lap six. Pfeiffer battled back under him coming down the backstretch on lap seven. The duo battled side by side on lap eight, with Streeval holding a slight advantage. The duo stayed glued to each others door panels as they clicked off lap 10, with Streeval holding a slight advantage. The yellow flag flew on lap 11, as Todd McDonald spun his mount in turn two. On the restart, Streeval, Turner, and Pfeiffer ran three wide for the lead coming out of turn one. Streeval was able to take the lead all to hisself on lap 12. The top three ran within inches of one another as the field took the halfway signal on lap 13. That battle would be halted on lap 14, as David Waggoner, Jr. spun in turn three, bringing out the yellow. Chaos ensued on the restart, as Bubba Woods, Turner, Pfeiffer, and Streeval all ran in a pack for the lead, with Woods moving from fourth to the lead on lap 15. A multi-car accident in turn two brought out the caution once again on lap 16. With Woods up front, he brought the field to the green on the lap 16 restart. Turner moved around Streeval to take second on the restart, bringing Pfeiffer with him to third. The caution flew once again on lap 17, as McDonald looped his machine in turn two. The restart was brought back due to a spin in turn three by Steven Watson. Watson was deemed to have been taken out, and got his spot back in the running order in sixth. Unfortunately for Watson, his left rear suffered enough damage to render him pitside. The caution flew once again on the restart, as Nathan Baker slowed to a stop on the backstretch. Debris in turn one brought out the fourth caution on the lap 17 restart. The fifth time was the charm as Streeval and Woods battled for the lead. Turner made it three wide for a split second before the top three strung out single file. With five to go Woods held a car length advantage over Streeval and Aaron Fields who took third from Turner. The caution flew on lap 22, as Pfeiffer spun his mount coming out of turn four. When racing resumed, Woods pulled out to a three car advantage over Streeval as they took the two to go signal. Fields moved under Streeval to battle for second. However, Woods was smooth and steady up front, and took the win

Zak Blackwood and Mark Barber took the 25 lap ILMS Late Model feature event to the green flag, with the two running side by side on lap one for the lead. Barber was able to overtake Blackwood on lap two for the lead, as Blackwood made a move under him on lap three. Barber was able to hold him off, as Steve Godsey battled Eric Varner for third. Up front, Blackwood and Barber dueled once again for the lead, only to see Barber extend his lead to about five car lengths over Blackwood. The caution flew on lap five, as Jason Shipp spun in turn three. On the restart, Alan Magner moved in to battle with Godsey for third, but was not able to make the pass stick on lap seven. The caution flew again on lap seven, as James Griffith spun in turn four. When racing resumed, Barber hit the top shelf and opened up a three car advantage over Blackwood. Godsey sat about four lengths behind Blackwood in third. At the halfway point it was Barber, Blackwood, Godsey, Magner, and Scott Graham making up the top five. Barber and Blackwood split the lapped car of Terry Romans on lap 14 and resumed their battle up front. The caution flew on lap 15, as Steve Davis spun in turn four. When the green came back out, Godsey shot around Blackwood for second, and set his sights on Barber. Behind them, Graham moved around Magner for the fourth position. WIth the top three utilizing the top groove, Barber held a half straight lead over Godsey with five laps to go. With three to go, the lead had grown to about 3/4ths of a straightaway between Barber and Godsey. As the white flag flew, Barber kept it straight and took the checkers over Godsey, Blackwood, Graham, and Magner.

John Demoss and Devin Gilpin made up the front row for the 25 lap UMP Modified feature, with Demoss leading the first lap over Gilpin and Shelby Miles. The caution flew, as Cody Long spun in turn four. Not everyone had crossed the stripe, so a complete restart was ordered. Debris in turn one brought out the caution as it laid in turn one, resulting in another complete restart. The third time was the charm, as Demoss led the first lap ahead of Gilpin and Miles. The caution flew again on lap two, as Long spun once again in turn four. On the restart, Richie Lex shot from fourth to second, but lost the second spot to Gilpin on lap three. On lap five, the top three remained the same, as Clint Demoss battled Jacoby Hines for fifth. Ahead of them, Miles moved around Lex to take third on lap eight. At the same time, Demoss took fifth from Hines. Miles then took the second spot from Gilpin, using the top groove just past the halfway point. The caution flew on lap 15, as Cary Morris spun in turn four. The caution erased the almost full straightaway lead that John Demoss had over Miles. When racing resumed, Lex and Gilpin shot around Miles, putting him back to fourth. Lex took second, with Gilpin taking third. Clint Demoss also moved under Miles to take fourth on lap 16. The yellow flew again on lap 19, as Morris spun again in turn four. When racing resumed, Gilpin moved to second, getting around Lex on lap 20. With four to go, Demoss held a two car advantage over Gilpin as they moved out of turn four. Robbie Gullion brought out the caution on lap 22, as he looped his mount on the backstretch. On the restart, Lex took second from Gilpin just as the caution came out for Clayton Perry, who had spun in turns three and four. With three to go, the green flew on the restart with Demoss in the lead. Gilpin attempted to close in on Demoss as the white flag flew, but would not have enough momentum to take the lead. Demoss held on for the win over Gilpin

BROWNSTOWN SPEEDWAY RESULTS AND STORIES FOR MAY 15TH, 2010‏

Dillan White picked up his first career Super Late Model win in spectacular fashion at the Brownstown Speedway on Saturday night, taking the lead with less than five laps to go. Drivers and crews waited out a two hour moisture delay, which made the track lightning fast. Randy Petro rode the highside to victory in the UMP Super Stock division, his 269th career win. Ryan Scott overcame a setback early on in the UMP Hornet division to pick up his first ever win.

Kent Robinson and Steve Barnett led the field to the green in the 25 lap UMP Super Late Model main event, with Robinson darting out to the lead. The original start was brought back due to an incident involving Tim Rivers and Mark Barber coming out of turn four. The field was doubled up for a complete restart. The green flew on the restart, as an incident in turn two slowed the proceedings. The start was brought back once again as debris laid in turn three, bringing out the caution. Robinson was able to take the lead on the start and lead lap one ahead of Barnett. The caution would fly once again on lap two, as Greg Kendall hit the tire in turn four. Robinson led the field to the restart, and opened up a three car advantage over Barnett. Joe Janowski moved around Dillan White to take third on the restart. A three wide battle for fifth between Marty O'Neal, Jeremy Hines, and Jason Smith started to brew on lap five, with O'Neal taking the position. Ahead of them, White and Janowski battled for third, with White on the inside of Janowski. Up front, Barnett started to move closer to Robinson as they worked lapped traffic on lap nine. On lap 11, Robinson only held a car length lead over Barnett, as White moved in on Barnett. They went three wide for the lead coming into lapped traffic on lap 14. Barnett was able to get around Robinson for the lead on lap 15, only to have the lapped car of Brian Wilhite slow up in front of him. Barnett was not able to avoid him, and made contact allowing Robinson back around for the lead. The caution flew on lap 16, as Wilhite spun in turn three. The caution flew on the restart as Rivers, Jim Curry, and Chad Stapleton were involved in a melee in turn one. On the restart, Janowski moved around Barnett to take second. White was also able to get around Barnett to take the third spot. With five to go Janowski moved into battle Robinson for the lead. Janowski and White moved around Robinson putting him back to third with just five to go. With three to go, Janowski held a three car length advantage over White. Behind them, Jeremy Hines moved into the fourth position, getting around Barnett. With two to go, White moved around Janowski to take the lead, and was able to hold him off to pick up his first career win at Brownstown Speedway.

Tim Schumpe and David Brewer made up the front row for the 20 lap UMP Super Stock main event. The caution was brought back due to a misfire on the original start. The restart fared better, as a three wide battle for the lead between Schumpe, Randy Petro, and Aaron Fields ensued. Fields took the lead, with Petro moving to second, and Jay Deckard third. Jeremy Hines was able to move up into the fourth position, getting around Schumpe. Disaster struck Fields while leading, as his car wiggled a bit coming out of turn two, losing numerous positions. This gave the lead to Petro, and second to Deckard. The caution flew on lap five, as Brewer slowed to a stop in turn one. On the restart, Petro sped off to a three car length advantage over Deckard, who had Hines breathing down his neck for second. At the halfway point, Petro held close to a half straightaway advantage over Deckard, Hines, Justin Hammond, and Kevin Jones in fifth. Unfortunately for Hammond his top five run ended on lap ten, as he looped his mount in turn four. When the green flew on the restart, a pileup ensued involving Hines, Gary Rahe, Jr., and Jason Hehman in turn two. The restart saw Petro and Deckard seperate themselves from the field, moving out to a six car length lead over Clark in third. Deckard tried the low side periodically on Petro to make an attempt at the lead, but Petro was faster on the highside. With five to go, it was a two car length advantage over Deckard for Petro. With three to go, the advantage opened up a bit between Petro and Deckard. The advantage was enough for Petro to knock off Deckard's two race win streak. Clark, Cain, and Jones rounded out the top five.

Donnie Modesty and Lucas Jackson led the 20 lap UMP Hornet feature to the green flag only to have the start brought back due to a premature start. On the restart, Modesty led the first lap by a half car length over Ryan Scott. Scott moved under Modesty to take the lead but lost momentum, as he jumped out of gear coming out of four. Jackson moved back to second, getting around Scott. Jackson then took the lead on lap four, moving under Modesty . Scott was able to move back around Modest for second on lap six. Scott then took the lead from Jackson on lap seven. Behind them, Cris Dotson took third away from Modesty coming to the halfway point. Dotson then moved in to battle for second with Jackson on lap 12. Jackson was able to hold Dotson off for the spot. With five laps to go, Scott held a half straight lead over Jackson. Behind them Modesty took third away from Dotson. Brandon Norman was also able to move around Dotson to take fourth on lap 17. Up front, it was all Scott, as he picked up the win ahead of Jackson, Modesty, Norman, and Dotson

BARBER, DEMOSS, NORMAN, AND DECKARD VICTORIOUS AT BROWNSTOWN SPEEDWAY

By: Chris Nunn

The UMP Super Late Model saw Dillan White and Mark Barber make up the front row of the main event. The caution flew on the start, as Tim Prince spun coming out of turn two. The second attempt at a start proved successful, as Barber lead lap one with White in tow. Steve Godsey settled in behind White as they completed lap two. The caution flew on lap three as Zak Blackwood dropped a driveshaft in turn one. On the restart, Godsey moved around White for second as the field completed lap three. White then moved back under Godsey to battle for second as they crossed the line on lap four. With White now in second, Godsey and Steve Barnett waged a battle for third. Behind them Kent Robinson moved into the top five, getting around Cody Mahoney. In front of them, Barnett was able to move around Godsey to take third on lap six. On lap nine, Mahoney shot around both Robinson and Godsey to take the fourth position. Robinson held fifth, with Rohn Moon getting around Godsey for fifth. At the halfway mark, Barber held a three car length advantage over White, Barnett, Mahoney, and Robinson. With 14 laps in the books, the top five ran single file as Barber clung onto a two car length advantage over White. Barber began working lapped traffic on lap 16, as White cleared the lapped car as well. Behind them, Robinson moved to fourth, getting around Mahoney on lap 17. With five laps to go, Barber held just a car length advantage over White, with Barnett right behind. With three to go, Rohn Moon moved into the fifth position, taking the spot from Mahoney. With two laps to go, White moved in to work on Barber for the lead. Barber would not move off the bottom, keeping White at bay to claim the victory. Completing the top five were White, Barnett, Robinson, and Moon. Barber claimed the win in a GM Performance 604 crate motor.

Jay Deckard and Steve Peeden brought the UMP Super Stock main to the green flag. Deckard shot to the lead on the start and led lap one with Peeden in tow. Tyler Cain began to pressure Peeden for second on lap two, taking the spot at the line. The two ran side by side as they completed lap three, with Cain a half car length ahead of Peeden. Troy Clark ran fourth as Tim Clark and Aaron Fields battled for fifth. Tim Clark was able to get fifth as they crossed the line on lap five. Up front, Deckard began putting some serious distance between he and the two wide battle for second among Cain and Peeden. At the halfway mark, Deckard held a little over a half straight lead over Cain, Peeden, Tim Clark, and Troy Clark. With eight laps to go, Cain moved a full car length ahead of Peeden to lock down the second position. Behind Peeden, Tim Clark began to close in to battle for third. With five to go, Deckards lead had grown to a full straight over Cain. Deckard began lapping cars with four to go, just as the caution flew for Jeremy Wilson who had spun in turn three. On the restart, Deckard shot out to a four car length advantage over Cain, as a four car pileup ensued in turn three involving Tim Clark, Brad Cummings, Kevin Jones, and Tom Ault. The yellow flew once again on the lap 16 restart as Kevin Jones looped his mount in turn one. The third attempt at the lap 16 restart was successful as Deckard completed lap 17 a car length ahead of Cain. Peeden ran third with Lee Hobbs now fourth. Deckard took the white flag two car lengths ahead of Cain and kept that advantage to the checkers. Cain, Peeden, Hobbs, and Fields rounded out the top five.

RJ Perry and Jeremy Smith led the Hornet feature to the green, with Perry leading lap one. Brandon Norman worked his way to second, bringing Ryan Scott with him to third. The yellow flew for two separate spins involving Josh Hayes and Mike Redkey. A complete restart was ordered due to no laps being completed. On the restart, Norman, Scott, and Smith ran three wide for the lead, with Scott leading lap one. Norman ran second with Perry third. A four wide battle for fourth ended with Lucas Jackson taking the spot on lap three. That turned into a three way battle for second between Jackson, Norman, and Donnie Modesty. The caution flew on lap four as Perry slowed on the backstretch. Scott led the field to the restart, bringing Mason Covey to battle him for the lead on lap six. Norman then moved under both of them to take the lead on lap seven. Scott and Covey ran side by side for second behind Norman on lap eight, as Brad Ray worked his way in to the battle for second. Ray took third from Covey at halfway, then took second from Scott in turn two on lap ten. With Norman two car lengths ahead of Scott in second, the caution flew on lap 12, as Mike Redkey spun on the backstretch. Redkey would get his spot back, as he was deemed taken out. With nine to go, the green flew on the restart with Norman leading the field. Ray settled into second, with Scott third. Scott then had to contend with Donnie Modesty, who moved alongside on lap 13. Scott held the position as the field completed lap 14. Up front, Ray and Norman ran side by side for the lead with five laps to go. With four to go, the duo remained side by side at the line, with Scott in third. Ray took a half car length lead over Norman with three laps to go, as Norman fought back under him with two to go. With one lap to go, they were still side by side with Ray in the lead. Norman shot under Ray down the backstretch and took the lead coming out of turn four to hold on for the victory. Completing the top five were Scott, Smith, and Covey.

Matt Boknecht and Clint Demoss made up the front row for the UMP Modified feature event with Demoss leading lap one ahead of Boknecht and Shelby Miles. Boknecht and Miles dueled side by side for second. Miles inched ahead of Boknecht on lap four, taking second. Ryan Thomas ran fourth, with Devin Gilpin fifth. By lap six, Demoss enjoyed a five car length advantage over Miles as the field completed lap eight. Boknecht and Thomas ran third and fourth almost a half straight ahead of Gilpin in fifth. At the halfway point the top five was Demoss, Miles, Thomas, Boknecht, and Gilpin. Thomas slid under Boknecht for fourth as they crossed the stripe for the halfway signal. The caution flew on lap 11, as Clayton Perry and Tim Eddelman locked up in turn three. On the restart, a five car pileup ensued bringing the yellow out once again. The green flew on the restart, with Demoss still out front. Thomas moved under Miles to take the second position just as the caution flew on lap 12 for Webb Lee, who had spun into the frontstretch wall. On the restart, Thomas and Miles dueled for second as Demoss continued to lead. With five to go, Thomas and Miles were still glued to each other for second. The caution flew on lap 16, as Keaton Streeval spun in turn four. He was deemed to have been taken out, so he was moved to his original spot in the running order. With four to go, the green flew for the restart, with Demoss, Thomas, and Miles ran within inches of each other for the lead. With two to go, Thomas moved to the outside of Demoss to try for the lead, but Demoss was able to hold on. With one to go, Demoss moved out to a two car length advantage, which he would hold on to, crossing the checkers first. Completing the top five were Thomas, Miles, Boknecht, and Richie Lex.

GODSEY, DECKARD, FIELDS, AND BENNETT WIN AT BROWNSTOWN SPEEDWAY‏

The first race of the 2010 Indiana Late Model Series season saw Eric Varner and Jeremy Hines make up the front row of the 25 lap affair. Hines took the lead at the green flag and led lap one ahead of Varner and Zak Blackwood. Behind them a three wide battle for fourth was shaping up between Steve Godsey, Zane Powell, and Mark Barber. The caution flew on lap two, as John Mulligan and Steve Davis spun in turn two. On the restart, Blackwood moved around Varner for the second spot and brought Barber with him to third. Varner then lost the fourth position to Godsey, as he moved around him on lap five. By this time Hines had opened up a half straight lead over Blackwood. A battle for fifth began to take shape between Shannon Reed and Powell on lap eight, with Reed holding the position. Hines began to work lapped traffic on lap nine, as Barber and Blackwood battled for second. The yellow flag slowed the field on lap nine, as John Gilstrap spun in turn one. The yellow flew on the restart as Shannon Allen and Greg Kendall spun in turn one. When the green flag flew, Godsey, Barber, and Blackwood ran three wide for second. Blackwood held the position, with Godsey taking third. Behind them, Kevin Hardin moved into fifth, getting around Shannon Reed. The caution flew once again on lap 13 as Powell and Varner piled up in turn one. On the restart the yellow flew once again as John Mulligan spun on the frontstretch. The lap 13 restart was once again nullified as a four car pileup ensued in turn two. Godsey moved around Blackwood on the restart for second and began to set his sights on Hines for the lead. The two battled side by side as they clicked off lap 16. Godsey was able to move around Hines for the lead coming out of turn two. With five laps to go Godsey held a three car length advantage over Hines, with Blackwood two car lengths behind Hines. Hines began to show some smoke from behind his car and began to drop fluid on the race track as he closed in on Godsey. Blackwood then moved in to make it a three car battle for the lead with one to go. Coming into turn three, Hines made a last ditch effort and was able to beat out Godsey to the line by mere inches for the win. With two laps to go, Hines was told over the raceciever radio to pull into the infield due to the fluid being dropped from his machine. So with Hines black flagged the win was given to Godsey. Completing the top five were Blackwood, Hardin, Alan Magner, and Edgar Godsey

The 20 lap Bomber main event saw Keaton Streeval and Aaron Fields make up the front row with Streeval leading lap one. A three wide battle for third took shape with Bubba Woods, Josh Turner, and Nathan Baker. The caution flew on lap three, as Steven Watson stalled on the backstretch. When racing resumed, Fields moved under Streeval to battle for the lead, bringing Turner with him. Fields took the lead, with Turner moving around Streeval for second. The caution flew on lap seven for Jake Sabens, who had spun in turn one. On the restart, Baker moved up to battle Turner for second. Baker took the spot as they completed lap eight. Woods, Streeval, Baker, and Turner all waged a war for second at the halfway mark. Baker, Turner, and Woods then battled three wide for the second spot on lap 11. The caution flag would slow the proceedings on lap 12, as Brent Lee and Ronnie Pardue spun in turn four. On the restart, Fields once again shot out to the lead, with Baker and Turner battling for second. The caution flew on lap 13, as Sabens spun in turn four. When the green flew again, Fields and Turner ran first and second about a car length separating the two. Behind them Woods and Baker ran door to door for third. Woods cleared baker with two laps to go to take third. Up front, no one was able to catch Fields as he took the checkers ahead of Turner, Woods, Baker, and Streeval.

Jay Deckard and Lee Hobbs led the UMP Super Stock feature field to the green, with Deckard leading lap one. Hobbs closed in on Deckard for a split second but was not able to make the pass for the lead. Tim Clark moved around Jeremy Wilson to take third on lap four, and began to close in on Hobbs for third. The top three cars had pulled out to over a half straight lead over Wilson in fourth. Wilson then lost fourth to Jeremy Hines, who moved around him on lap nine. At the halfway mark it was Deckard, Hobbs, Clark, Hines, and Wilson making up the top five. The top three ran nose to tail, as they completed lap 11. Behind them, Brad Cummings moved into the top five, getting around Wilson. With five to go, the top three remained the same with only three car lengths separating the three. Contact was made between Hobbs and Clark, allowing Deckard to pull out to an eight car advantage. With two to go, Deckard put the lapped car of David Brewer between he and Hobbs to cushion his lead. Deckard was able to cruise to the win over Hobbs, Clark, Hines, and Cummings.

Curt Bennett and Tim Roberts made up the front row of the UMP Pure Stock feature. Bennett led lap one with Cody Vanosdol taking second from Roberts. Roberts fought back under Vanosdol, as Mickey Hines made it a three way for second. Hines moved around both of them for second, leaving Roberts and Vanosdol to battle for third. Vanosdol was able to hold third, putting Roberts back to fourth. At the halfway mark, it was Bennett leading Hines, Vanosdol, Roberts, and Brad Kemp. On lap 12, Roberts used lapped traffic to his advantage to move around Vanosdol for third. Back up front, Bennett had put two lapped cars between he and Hines to pad his lead. The yellow flew for the first time on lap 16, as Hines was taken out coming out of turn four. Officials deemed he was taken out by a lapped car and was able to get his spot back in second. When racing resumed, Bennett took the field to the green with Roberts and Hines battling for second. With two to go, Bennett led a three wide battle for second to the white flag. Roberts took second at the white flag. Bennett, however, was able to take the win over Roberts, Vanosdol, Hines, and Brian Ballard.

Jimmy Owens Routs Field in Winning Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown

BROWNSTOWN, IN (March 27, 2010) - Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN dominated the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned 13th Annual Indiana Icebreaker on Saturday Night at Brownstown Speedway for his 14th career series win. Owens led all 50 laps.  Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL finished second, followed by series points leader, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN; Bart Hartman of Zanesville, OH; and Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN.

Owens and first- time Brownstown visitor, Chris Wall started on the front row of the $10,000 to win event, which was held before a standing room only crowd.  Owens got the jump on the field at the drop of chief starter Eric Roll's green flag.  Pearson took the second slot followed by Wall, Bloomquist and Hartman.

Owens quickly built his lead over the field as Pearson and Bloomquist battled for second.  Owens had a five-car length lead as the first caution appeared for a three-car pileup in turn two.  On the restart, Owens continued to show his prowess as he pulled away from the field. Bloomquist moved into second as Steve Casebolt climbed to third, just ahead of Pearson.

Pearson then regrouped after the restart as he and Casebolt went door-to-door for two laps before eventually clearing him on lap 12 to re-take third. With 15 laps in the books Owens had a straightaway lead over Bloomquist, who was still running second with Pearson third followed by Casebolt and Hartman. By Lap 17, Owens picked up the tail end of the field as he now battled cars running two and three wide in front of him.  Bloomquist could'nt gain any ground on Owens..

At the halfway mark Owens was putting on a clinic has he developed a huge lead over the field with 20 laps remaining.   Bloomquist was still keeping Pearson at bay for second as Hartman ramped up his effort and got by Casebolt to take over fourth. Thirteenth starting Shannon Babb was beginning to make a charge into the top five.

With 40 laps recorded, Owens was up to a half-a-lap lead over Bloomquist as Owens was still fighting his way through traffic. Pearson was pressuring Bloomquist for second with ten to go.  Pearson kept the heat on Bloomquist and with five laps to go, Pearson finally cleared Bloomquist to take over the runner-up spot.

Owens was still on cruise control as he went on unchallenged to record his first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series win of 2010.  Owens had previously won two open wheel modified features at Brownstown and took home his first ever Late Model win at the historic Jackson County Fairgrounds track.

In the Lucas Oil Victory Lane, Owens emerged in front of the cheering crowd to talk about his domination from start to finish.  "The car was great right of the box, we didn't have to do anything to it, we put the right tire on, I want to thank Chris (Fox, his crew chief), I want to thank Mike Reece, Reece Monuments, Gantte Appraisals and all of our other sponsors, we needed this win, we struggled at Bulls Gap and Cherokee, this crew we've have all been together since we started racing, it means a lot to win here and it was a good points night," said Owens who climbed to second behind Bloomquist in the championship points standings.

Owens' Mike Reece owned Bloomquist Race Cars Ford Fusion and Cornett Racing Engines powered entry is sponsored by Reece Monument Company, Gantte Appraisals, Red Line Oil, VP Racing Fuels, Byrd's Radiator and C&C Trucking.

Pearson, who finished second, saw his two-race Lucas Oil Series win streak at Brownstown end also wound with a good points' night in the Bobby Labonte Racing Racing/Lucas Oil Products/MasterSbilt Dodge Charger.  "Jimmy was gone tonight, we did what we could to stay with him, but we couldn't, I finally got around Scott there at the end and the way we ran at Bulls Gap and Cherokee a few weeks ago we will definitely take this finish,"

Bloomquist finished third, he said afterwards.  "Congratulations to Jimmy on the win, we had the same tires on as he did and then elected to change and go to the hard stuff, but Jimmy had us all covered tonight, we'll just move onto the next one," said the 2009 series champion in his Miller Brothers Construction/Vic Hill Racing Engines/Bloomquist Race Cars Monte Carlo SS.

Hartman in his first race of the season placed fourth in The912Project.com/Cornett Racing Engines/Rocket Aero followed by O'Neal in the Superior Cleaning/Jay Dickens Racing Engines/MasterSbilt Monte Carlo SS put on a late race charge to take fifth.

Completing the top ten were Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, IL, Greg Johnson of Bedford, IN, Wayne Chinn of Bradford, OH, Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN and Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN.

Brad Neat was officially credited with an 11th place finish after originally being scored in 23rd place. A transponder error was found after the finish and his final position was determined to be 11th Place.

SCHLENK, CAWOOD, GILPIN, AND NORMAN SCORE SEASON OPENING WINS AT BROWNSTOWN SPEEDWAY
By: Chris Nunn
BROWNSTOWN, IN- MARCH 20TH, 2010- Three drivers picked up their first career wins at Brownstown Speedway on Saturday night on a perfect evening for racing. Rusty Schlenk of Jackson, MI, Mike Cawood of Whiteland, IN, and Brandon Norman of Medora, IN all claimed their first ever wins in the UMP Late Model, UMP Super Stocks, and UMP Hornet divisions respectively. In UMP Modified action, Devin Gilpin of Columbus, IN dominated the latter portion of the event to claim another win in the division.

Joe Janowski and Cory Mahoney made up the front row for the 25 Lap UMP Late Model main, with Mahoney leading Janowski and Rusty Schlenk to the line to complete lap one. A battle began to wage for second on lap three between Schlenk and Janowski, with Schlenk nabbing the position. Behind them, on lap five, Tim Rivers moved around Mike Bores for the fifth position. The first caution of the event flew on lap five, as Kerry Mathew spun off the backstretch. On the restart, Rohn Moon flew around Janowski to take third coming to the line. Janowski, however, returned the favor on Moon to retake the third spot on lap seven. Behind them, Tyler Allen moved around Bores and Rivers to take fifth. Back up front, on lap 10, Schlenk turned the heat up on Mahoney and moved to within a car length. Schlenk then moved alongside Mahoney to battle for the lead on lap 11. At the halfway mark, it was Mahoney, Schlenk, Janowski, Moon, and Bores completing the top five. Just past the halfway mark, Tim Prince brought out the yellow, spinning on the backstretch. On the ensuing restart, Moon used the outside line on the Delaware double file restart to move back around Janowski for third on lap 12. Two cautions slowed the event on laps 15 and 16. Both for Chip Stitsworth. The lap 16 restart was brought back due to a spin by Bores in turn four. When racing resumed on lap 16, Schlenk used the bottom groove to work alongside of Mahoney for the lead. On lap 18, Schlenk took the lead away from Mahoney coming down the frontstretch. Behind that battle, Janowski moved back around Moon for the third position with five laps to go. Up front, however, Schlenk cruised to the victory in his Micro Armor/Time Out Bar & Grill/Main & Company/C.J. Rayburn/Kerscher Engines/Aumachs Home Care/VP Fuels/KB Carbs/AccuCore Shock Dynos #91 Entry. The win marked Schlenk's first career victory at Brownstown Speedway. Completing the top five were Mahoney, Janowski, Moon, and Steve Barnett.

Matt Boknecht and Devin Gilpin made up the front row for the 20 lap UMP Modified main. The original start had to be brought back due to a seven car accident in turn two on the opening lap. On the restart, Gilpin led the field around to complete lap one. The first lap would be the only lap completed, as Kent Robinson and Tony Blair spun on the frontstretch before lap two could be finished. Matt Bex took second away from Boknecht on the restart, and held the position until lap four, when Boknecht slid back around him for the spot. By lap seven, Gilpin had opened up a half straightaway lead over Boknecht and the rest of the field. Behind Gilpin and Boknecht, Richie Lex took the third spot away from Bex on lap 8. At the halfway mark, the caution flew for Kyle Schornick, who was unable to get his mount safely into the infield. From laps 2 through 10, Kent Robinson, who had restarted on the tail had moved into the top five. When racing resumed Robinson moved to third, around Lex on lap 11. Up front, Gilpin motored out to another half straight lead over Boknecht. With five laps to go, Robinson moved alongside of Boknecht to battle for the runner up position. Robinson was able to get the spot on lap 17. Second was the best Robinson could muster, as Gilpin easily took the win in his Dasco Race Supply/Impressive Race Cars/Mike Shell Racing Engines/Landrum Springs/Wildside Race Graphics #1G. Robinson, Boknecht, Steve Godsey, and Lex completed the top five.

Tyler Cain and Jimmy Cummings led the field to the green in the 20 lap UMP Super Stock main event, with Cain leading the first circuit. Cummings had to contend with Mike Cawood on lap two, as the duo battled side by side for second. Cawood took the spot on lap three, leaving Cummings to battle with Jeremy Hines. Hines took the third spot away from Cummings on lap five. Back up front, Cawood and Cain dueled door to door for the lead, with Cawood officially leading lap seven. Cain fought back to lead lap eight by about a quarter car length. That lead lasted but one lap, as Cawood took the lead back from Cain on lap nine. At the halfway point the top five were Cawood, Cain, Hines, Cummings, and Jay Deckard. Cawood started to open up a bit of an advantage over Cain before the caution flew on lap 15 for Jerry Adams who had spun in turn one. Cawood led the field to the restart, as Cain saw Hines move by him for second on lap 16. Hines made a valiant effort to grab the victory from Cawood, but Cawood was able to hold him off at the checkers. The win was Cawood's first ever at Brownstown in his Cawood Racing/Taylor Racing/Hair by Doris/Steve Martin Racing Engines/Ross Body Shop sponsored #12 machine. Completing the top five were Hines, Cain, Deckard, and Chris Hillman

The Hornet main event started with David Waggoner Jr. and Jeremy Smith on the front row, with Smith leading the first lap. Waggoner settled in second behind Smith as the field completed lap two. A six car battle for positions second through seventh began to take place behind Smith. After that battle was all said and done, Brad Ray moved to second, Wes Ray moved to third, with Waggoner moving back to fourth by lap five. The car on the move was Brandon Norman, who had started 14th on the grid, and had moved up to third on lap seven. Debris on the backstretch brought out the yellow on lap eight, bunching up the field. On the restart, Norman shot around both Brad Ray and Smith for the lead on lap nine. Another caution for debris flew on lap 10. When racing resumed, disaster struck the second place car of Smith, as he slowed and pulled off the track. With two laps to go, Ray moved into battle Norman for the lead, but was not able to make the pass. Norman held on for his first ever win at Brownstown Speedway. Completing the top five were Brad Ray, Wes Ray, Josh Turner, and Waggoner.
