Amick took the lead for good on lap seven and led the rest of the way. John DeMoss finished second followed by Ronnie Falloway, Nick Allen and Clint DeMoss.

Falloway would grab the lead at the start of the main event with John DeMoss and Amick, who started third holding that spot with a lap scored. Amick would then make his move for the lead as both he and Bryce Jewell moved into the top two spots on the second circuit.

Amick would lead two laps until Jewell was able to pass him on the fourth lap. In a hotly contested battle for the lead Jewell would remain in front for three laps when Amick was able to get around him to re-take the lead. DeMoss then took over second from Jewell, but by this time Amick had built a good lead over the field. DeMoss tried to track down Amick in the final laps, but Amick held on to score the victory in the Greg and Jesse Amick owned Black Widow Race Car Chassis sponsored by BSB Manufacturing, K&S Roll-Off and Dasco Racing Supply.

Brownstown Speedway Results and Stories for 6/25/11‏
Joe Godsey and Shannon Reed made up the front row for the ILMS feature event with Marty O'Neal leading lap one after Reed pushed out of turn two and lost numerous spots. O'Neal started to open up a decent advantage over Godsey before the caution flew for a multi car incident in turn one on lap three. On the restart, Keaton Streeval shot from fourth to second, getting around Godsey and Greg Kendall. The yellow flew for the second time on lap seven, as Mason Covey spun in turn two. Kendal took second away from Streeval on the restart, only to see Reed move back to second, getting around Kendall on lap nine. At halfway it was O'Neal, Reed, Streeval, Marty Cooper, and Kendall completing the top five. The third caution flew on lap 11, as Steve Davis looped his mount in turn two. On the restart, the top three of O'Neal, Reed, and Streeval took the field into turn one, but contact between O'Neal and Reed resulted in a left rear flat on O'Neal's machine. The caution flew, as O'Neal slowed down the frontstretch, giving the lead to Reed. O'Neal's crew was able to change the tire, and he rejoined the field on the tail. Reed began to pull away on the restart, opening up a half straight lead over Streeval. Steve Godsey took second away from Streeval on lap 16, but still was over a half straight behind Reed, who was enjoying a comfortable advantage over the field. Reed would cruise to the checkers to pick up his first win of the season at Brownstown and in the ILMS Series.

Bubba Woods and Mark Bruce led the 30 lap Bomber special to the green flag with Woods leading lap one over Bruce. Woods took the field to the green on the restart, and opened up a three car advantage over Bruce in second. Kevin Applegate ran in the third spot, with Josh Hayes fourth. Darren Crawhorn began to see some pressure from Aaron Fields for the fifth spot as the field completed lap nine. Fields made the pass on lap ten, putting Crawhorn back to sixth. At the halfway point it was Woods, Bruce, Applegate, Fields, and Hayes completing the top five. Fields moved around Applegate for third on lap 18, and set his sights on the top two of Woods and Bruce. The top three ran nose to tail with nine laps to go as Fields moved to the outside of Bruce to battle for second. Fields moved to the second spot with six laps to go, and moved right behind Woods for the lead. The caution flew on lap 24, as Applegate spun in turn two. The restart was brought back due to a caution involving Bobby Johnson in turn one. Bruce took second from Fields on the restart, and looked under Woods for the lead on lap 24, but couldnt make the move. Woods was able to hold off the challenge from Bruce to take the win in the Bomber Special

Tyler Cain and Tim Clark led the Super Stock field to the green only to see it brought back for a multi car accident on the start. Cain led the field around to complete lap one on the restart with Jason Combs in second. Cain was able to keep his advantage for the remaining laps to collect his first ever win at Brownstown.

O'Neal and Hines began to put some distance between them and the third place car of Burton. Danny Hupp and Curt Bennett ran side by side for the fourth position on lap six, with Bennett holding the spot. With just a couple of laps remaining, O'Neal lost the rim off of his right rear and fell out of the lead, giving it to Hines. Hines took the checkers ahead of Burton, Mark Hines, Josh Phelps, and Curt Bennett.

Quinton Strope took home his second victory of the season in the Hornet division, holding off a hard charging Lucas Jackson by a half a car length at the checkers. Steven Watson and Bubba Woods led the Bomber field to the green in their 25 lap feature event with Woods leading the first lap by a car length over Watson. Aaron Fields and Josh Turner battled for third on lap three, with Turner taking the spot coming out of turn four. Turner then took moved in to battle Watson for the second spot just as the caution flew for an accident in turn three on lap five. On the restart, Turner took second from Watson. Watson then spun in turn three, causing a pileup in turn three. On the restart, Woods took a three car advantage over Turner to complete lap six. Fields moved under Turner to take second on lap seven, with Mike Burch and Nathan Baker battling for fourth. The caution flew again on lap nine, but as the field slowed, a lapped car caused issues with the leaders, ending Woods night with a broken rear end. This gave Fields the lead on the restart. As the field took the halfway signal it was Fields, Baker, Turner, Jim Pfeiffer, and Burch rounding out the top five. Fields began to open up a large lead over Baker, only to have the yellow fly on lap 15. On the restart, Turner officially took the lead on lap 16, only to see Fields take the spot back on the following circuit. The caution flew on lap 18 as Brent Lee spun in turn four, collecting Dave Robinson in the process. After numerous cautions, Fields was able to take the win over Turner, Baker, Pardue, and Watson

Bloomquist Blasts to Career Win Number 506

Saturday Night at Brownstown

BROWNSTOWN, IN (April 9, 2011) - Scott Bloomquist passed Steve Francis on lap eight and went on to lead the rest of the way in capturing the 14th Annual Indiana Icebreaker for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Saturday Night at Brownstown Speedway.    Bloomquist, who won his 500th career feature race last September at Brownstown, earned $10,000 for the win.  Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN finished second as he held off 18th starting Earl Pearson Jr. for the runner-up spot.  Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA finished fourth followed by 15th place starter, Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN.

In victory lane Bloomquist gave thanks and to his pit crew and the track preparers at Brownstown, after the event was held despite nearly two inches of rain which fell earlier in the day.  "The car was superb out there tonight, you could run anywhere, we went with the Chevrolet powered Roush-Yates engine tonight and it didn't miss a beat, this was  a brand new car, we've always enjoyed coming up here to race, and with all the rain they had I didn't know how it would turn out, but it was racy all night, we had a good race there with Francis for a while, and I was hoping there wouldn't be any cautions the way we were running, we handled traffic pretty well, and everybody gave each other plenty of room," said Bloomquist.

Bub McCool started on the pole and led the first two laps until Steve Francis took over the point.  Francis held the lead for five circuits, until Bloomquist, who started third grabbed the lead using the inside line of the race track.  Francis ran second just ahead of Mike Marlar for several laps until Marlar took second on lap 18.  O'Neal then charged to the front passing both Francis and Marlar as he grabbed the second slot on lap 20.

Bloomquist had built a sizable lead over O'Neal and Marlar. With twenty laps to go, he was firmly in command of the race.  Bloomquist then started to pick-up heavy traffic, allowing both O'Neal and Earl Pearson Jr., who was on the move after starting on the outside of the ninth row.

O'Neal and Pearson had quite a battle for second for the remainder of the race.  O'Neal was able to edge Pearson at the finish line for second place.

Completing the top ten were Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN; Bub McCool of Vicksburg, MS; Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY; Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA; and Chris Wall of Springfield, LA.

In preliminary action Rohn Moon was the red Buck Cigars Fast Qualifier with a lap of 14.264 seconds among the 49 entrants.  Heat race winners were Bub McCool, Scott Bloomquist, Steve Francis, and Don O'Neal.  The B-Mains were taken by John Blankenship and Earl Pearson Jr.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be in action on April 29th at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, PA and on Saturday Night, April 30th at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, PA. Both events will pay $10,000 to win.

White, Thomas, Clark, and Hehman Score Opening Night Victories at Brownstown Speedway‏

Dillan White and Tim Rivers led the field to the green in the Late Model main event, with Wihte leading lap one over Rivers. Chad Stapleton took second from Rivers, bringing Jason Smith with him to third  on lap two just as the caution flew for Duane Chamberlain who had looped his mount in turn two. On the restart, White led Rivers and Stapleton to the green. Rivers then stepped to the outside of White in an attempt to take the lead on lap four. Michael Chilton then took third away from Stapleton on lap four as well, putting him back to fourth. Stapleton then pulled to a stop on the frontstretch on lap seven, bringing out the caution. White led the field to the restart, only to have it brought back for a multi-car pileup in turn one. White once again led the field to the restart, only to see it brought back once again, this time for Keaton Steeval in turn three. When racing resumed, Chilton moved around RIvers for the second spot on lap nine. Behind them, Derek Fisher moved into the top five, getting around Brandon Thirlby. At the halfway point it was White, Chilton, Rivers, Janowski, and Fisher rounding out the top  five. WIth nine laps to go, Smith held a five car length advantage over Chilton in second, who had his hands full with Rivers hounding him for the spot. With five to go, Rivers stepped to the outside of Chilton to battle for second. Chilton was able to hold him off as they took the two to  go signal. Up front, however, it was all White, all the time as he held everyone off to pick up the opening night victory.

Ryan Thomas and Bryce Jewell led the UMP Modified field to the green flag, only to see the start brought back for the spun car of Will Krup on the backstretch. Thomas was able to lead the first lap on the restart, with Jewell behind him in second. The caution flew once again for a multicar accident in turn four, causing another complete restart. The fourth attempt at a restart was successful with Thomas leading Jewell and Matt Boknecht to the line. Boknecht took the second spot away from Jewell on lap three, as Rob Fuqua and McKay Wenger battled for fourth. By lap five, Thomas held almost a full straightaway lead over Boknecht. Behind them, Fuqua and Jewell ran side by side for the third spot, with Fuqua taking over on lap seven. Wenger then took fourth from Jewell, bringing Nick Allen with him to fifth. At halfway it was Thomas, Boknecht, Fuqua, Wenger, and Jewell rounding out the top five. Things got shaken up in the top five as the caution flew for Jeff Bland Jr on lap ten. As that happened, Boknecht slowed with a flat right rear tire while running second. This put Fuqua into the second spot as the field took the green on the lap 10 restart. Thomas immediately jumped out to a three car length lead over Fuqua , as Nick Allen moved to the topside of Wenger for third. The caution flew once again on lap 11, as Andy Sprague spun in turn three. Thomas led the field to the restart once again, as Allen moved around Wenger for third. The caution flew again on lap 11, for Krup in turn three. When racing resumed, Allen got around Fuqua for the second spot and set his sights on Thomas for the lead. Thomas was able to keep his advantage over Allen and pick up the victory.

The UMP Super Stock feature saw Jay Deckard and Tim Clark bring the field to the green flag, with Deckard leading lap one over Clark. Troy Clark was able to get around Tom Ault for the third spot on lap two, as Chris Hillman, Ault, and Jeremy Hines battled for fourth. Up front, Deckard, Tim Clark ,and Troy Clark ran nose to tail as they clicked off lap number six. Tim Clark nosed under Deckard to try to take the lead on lap eight, but was not able to make the pass stick. The caution flew on lap eight, as Brian Smiley looped his mount in turn three. On the restart, Troy Clark moved around Tim Clark for the second spot coming out of turn two. The caution negated the pass, as a three car incident occurred in turn three. The restart was brought back once again as Rob Wilson spun in turn three. A three way battle for the lead ensued on the restart between Clark, Clark, and Deckard, with Tim Clark taking the lead on lap 11. Hillman took the third spot away from Deckard on lap 15, then lost it back to Deckard a lap later. Clark ran the bottom to perfection as always, and cruised to the win in the Super Stock feature event.

David Crawhorn and Michael Fluhr made up the front row of the Hornet main event. Wes Ray took the lead early on in the event, only to drop out while leading around midway, right as Ray dropped out, Andrew Roark flipped his machine in turn three bringing out the red flag. A wild three way battle for the lead ensued between Ryan Hehman, Donnie Modesty, and Justin Patterson before they went three wide, with Patterson going airborne and landing on the Hehman machine. The red flag would fly once again for the incident. The race was halted and given the checkered flag with Hehman being scored the winner.
